Complaint: I have began to default on my American Express card. I am in the process of obtaining paperwork to begin bankruptcy. This week, several harassing phone messages were left on my parent 's home answering machine. I did not disclose this number, in any way shape or form, and I have not lived with them since XX/XX/1999. My wife 's parents were also called regarding this debt. My wife is not on this card, and her parents number has also never been disclosed. This has caused many issues within my family as well as my wife 's family. This has not come from a third party collection agency, instead directly from American Express.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I applied and recived an American Express Platinum card on XX/XX/18 with a XXXX membership rewards with $ XXXX spending in 3 months promotional offer. I thought I had completed the spending requirments on XX/XX/18 when the bonus points posted to my account. In XXXX I receved a letter from american express dated the day my 3 month promotion period was over ( XX/XX/18 ) saying that I didn't meet the requirments and that they are taking back the bonuse points. I called american express on XX/XX/18 when I got the letter after getting my mail from being on vacation and was told that because a company did a refund during my 3 month period so I didn't meet the requirments. I asked why I was not informed when this happened which I belive happened around mid-XXXX so I could make up the spending, and was told that they don't work in billing so they don't know.I also asked if there was a way to make up for it because I was not informed about it when it happened and that I will not be eligible for an offer on this card again in my lifetime, and was told that once the 92 days are up there is nothing that can be done.

Complaint: I received 2 emails from American Express one for each credit card account I have with them. The emails stated that my credit line has been decreased. And no real reason for that! So I called AMEX and I got NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or explanation for what happened other than my credit line was reduced. They referred to my XXXX credit report and other jargon that made no sense. I asked if my credit card account are late or something and they stated that my accounts are in good stating. They offered a posible solution which involved me sending them my tax return information and or making some sort of " one time '' ... .. All jargon to me ... .. when I have been a long time AMEX customer who pays on time! I went on my own and looked at/contacted XXXX won my credit report with them .... no problem at! Good score!

Complaint: In late XXXX or early XXXX I added an " American Express ( AmEx ) Offer '' to two of my AmEx credit card accounts, a Starwood ( SPG ) and a Platinum account. The offer was for a 10 % credit back on purchases up to {$1000.00}.
This offer was used through a {$1000.00} purchase on XX/XX/XXXX on the Platinum card and the {$100.00} credit was issued two days later.
On XX/XX/XXXX AmEx reversed the {$100.00} credit following an email indicating " Hello XXXX XXXX, We've charged your account for {$100.00} and we'd like to explain why. You already received a credit of {$100.00} for eligible purchases at XXXX, We offered you 10 % back as a statement credit each time you used your enrolled Business Card on eligible purchases at XXXX by XX/XX/XXXX, for up to {$100.00} in total statement credits per American Express Card Member. However, we discovered that you received more than the {$100.00} maximum credit across your Card ( s ). To correct this error, we will debit your account for any amount credited to you above the {$100.00} that you were eligible for. If you used multiple Card accounts, we may debit across each of your accounts to offset credits you received. '' This assertion is incorrect and not supported by the facts/charges on my accounts. Interactions with AmEx customer care have not resolved the issue. This feels like fraud and/or abuse on the part of AmEx.

Complaint: XXXX client, XXXX XXXX is a victim of identity theft. She was notified of a fraudulent inquiry to her XXXX credit report XX/XX/2018 made by American Express ( AMEX ). An official dispute of this fraudulent inquiry was sent to AMEX XX/XX/2018. A letter from AMEX was received by this office stating " does not contain sufficient information to conduct reasonable review ''. In the dispute AMEX was provided a notarized POA, FTC fraud affidavit as well as a police report, photo ID, SSC and utility bill. These items are more than enough to conduct an investigation of ID theft. This inaction is a violation of the FCRA and a violation of my clients federal consumer rights.

Complaint: To whom it may concern : I have been a loyal American Express card member for many years, and reach out to you in regards to the current XXXX offer to save 10 % up to {$100.00}.
This offer was saved to many of my cards.
I spent {$1000.00} on multiple cards, and received the {$100.00} statement credit on each card.
I subsequently spent {$1000.00} on more of my cards and again received the {$100.00} statement credit for each card.
There was a technical glitch with a few of my SPG cards, where the system didn't recognize the charges hence the credits didnt post.
I called in to speak with the American Express online Technical Department, and was told by a representative that " all '' the cards were in fact eligible for the credit, and that he will manually credit me for all cards that didnt post the credit on their own.
Attached is the email received on XX/XX/XXXX asserting the offer is limited to {$100.00} total per card member, and anything above that will be charged back.
I have also attached images where it can be seen all the credit reversals on my account.
If American Express considers each card a separate product membership as it pertains to annual fees, it must also consider each card as a separate entity eligible for the offer.
In question. The fact that all the cards were initially credited, clearly indicated that American Express concurred with the above noted contention.
They have clawed back thousands of dollars in credits leaving me with massive bills to pay that have never existed before.
I trust you will do whats right on my behalf and bring this matter to an amicable resolution.

Complaint: I had signed up for premium car rental insurance through American Express. In early XX/XX/XXXX I called to have this service cancelled. Since then they have continued to charge me and claim to have lost my cancelation and refuse to refund me the old charges. Complaint: My American Express Serve card was compromised on XX/XX/XXXX. I noticed it and reported it XX/XX/18 at XXXX XXXX. I was told at the time they would cancel my card and issue a new one.
I was also told on XX/XX/18 that I had to wait till the charges were no longer on hold. My card account information was used at 2 XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) gas stations for 6 separate transactions totaling {$990.00} in NC, it was also used for what appears to be a test thru a merchant in XXXX, TX for {$0.00}, that is still pending on hold and I live in NJ. My card is still in my possession.
The XXXX transactions cleared on Sunday XX/XX/18. I called American Express Serve at XXXX XXXX to notify them. I was hung up on. Transferred to the dispute team who said I had to talk to fraud, who transferred me back to disputes. I was told by a XXXX they would cancel my card and reissue it. Even though I explained that was done on Friday XX/XX/XXXX.
That representative XXXX who is in the XXXX first asked me did I still have a subscription to the company in question, I asked what subscription was he talking about and he said to the XXXX XXXX. I explained that it was a gas station and not cellular services where the purchases were made and no on wold purchase {$990.00} in gas at any one time unless they were filling a fleet of trucks which I do not own. He stated the investigation team would be requesting camera details at the store to see if it was me making the purchases. I am clearly at this point upset. He stated I would receive paperwork and that it needed to be filled out in 2 days. I asked when I would get that paperwork he said in 2 days so I was confused and said you told me you would send it in 2 days I cant possibly meet a deadline if I dont have it before the end of that deadline.
He hung up on me and when I called back at XXXX, I spoke with a female who didnt give me her name. She said I would receive an email with Declaration paperwork with in 24-48 hours.
On XX/XX/18 I still hadnt received the paperwork and called at XXXX XXXX. Maverick another representative proceeded to tell me the paperwork is sent within 1-2 business days. Meaning I wouldnt get it before Thursday XXXX. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on the phone with someone named XXXX and when I tried to ask for a manager after not getting any different response I was ignored until I had to hang up. These calls are all on my cell phone with times attached.
I understand there are processes to go through but I can not afford for my account to be emptied and stay that way for such an extended period of time. I have tried numerous ways to convey the urgency of this as I have rent and other bills due that this money was meant for and this is threatening my livelyhood.
Its is now XX/XX/XXXX and I still have yet to receive a phone call or the supposed paperwork via email. While I try to remain and positive as possible it appears that American Express Serve and its employees do not have rules they are governed by.
