Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I was detained by the police from my vehicle and taking to prison. I left my wallet with my identification card and social security card, XXXX XXXX card, XXXXXXXX XXXX Card inside it in my vehicle. I was release from prison XX/XX/2018. I discovered shortly after my release my vehicle was burglarized and my wallet and my phone was stolen. I immediately called American Express to cancel my card and I filed a dispute with them that day and I filed a police report the following day. I certified mailed my police report, prove of incarceration form, photos of my burglarized vehicle, FTC report and declaration of fraud form in on XX/XX/2018 to their corporate office in XXXX XXXX Utah. I also fax American Express Serve Team the police report and upload all documents listed previously to their website around that time as well. All documents was submitted before the 10 business day provisional credit period. On the XX/XX/2018, I received an email of denial of my claim. The representative explained to me upon calling, my claim was denied due to a merchant validating that a tranactions was valid. I spoke with each merchant neither of them confirmed validating any charges with American Express. I also contacted the American Express CEO XXXX XXXX and the executive department regarding this claim. They claim they was going to look into it but they have yet to resolve the issue as well. The Dispute amount is XXXX. I really need this issue resolved and those funds reversed to my account as quickly as possible. Thank You.

Complaint: Hi, I have a problem with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Unfortunately, I do not know the exact dates of the incident but here 's what happened : I had American Express gold card for years and used it until I realized that I'm paying {$180.00} annual fee, which for me and what I was using a credit card was too much so I decided to cancel that card but their representative, after several offers, finally offered to waive annual fee. I accepted and continued to use that card until I realized that after few months they still charged me {$180.00} annual fee. I called, they said that fee will be removed but never did. After several calls, their supervisor explained me that because I used their membership reward program ( I got {$20.00} GAP gift card ) I must pay annual fee. They never told me about that and if they did I will definitely denied the offer and cancel the account like I wanted too. I payed for all of my purchases and fees excluding {$180.00} annual fee and called AMEX and asked to cancel my card but they never did and although I did not used the card, charged for late fees etc. pumping that account to over {$400.00}. They also send debt information to credit report companies resulting in my credit score decreasing. Now they sending me offers to settle for 60 % of my " debt '' - {$240.00}. I tried stating my case to American Express customer service but without any understanding from their side. If you can help me on this matter, I would appreciate it. Thank you, XXXX XXXX

I went to accept the terms, however, their website did apparently not accept those terms and I was never granted the financing I was offered and had accepted. I called American Express to address the situation and they acknowledged that I did accept the financing, but refused to fulfill their offer.

Complaint: Hello, The following is a continuation of complaint # XXXX. In XXXX XXXX and American Express ' response they noted that I called in and represented myself as my father ( customer ). I clearly remember identifying myself as XXXX, and never once stated that this was my loan. In an effort to address this matter, I suggest XXXX XXXX, American Express, CFPB and myself have a conference and listen to the call. In addition, the company also took my cell number during the call and used it for follow up contacts without my permission and without a miranda indicating it was okay to do so. Not only has American Express had a formal Do Not Call on file for my number, but the document clearly states that I am not the customer. When XXXX XXXX called back on XX/XX/XXXX they advised that it was an attempt to collect a debt, and I clearly identified myself as the customer 's son. The agent did not go any further, but did ask if I had a valid contact number for my father. I gave them my mother 's number and the call ended. Again, I didn't tell them not to call because American Express had already had one for file for months if not years. When XXXX XXXX called back again on XX/XX/XXXXand again advised that it was an attempt to collect a debt, again I clearly identified myself as the customer 's son and informed them that I already gave them a contact number. Here the agent advised that she knew, but that the one I provided was also highlighted as a Do Not Call number. The statement definitely stuck out because not only was she attempting to collect from someone she knew was not the customer, but since the agent was unable to contact the customer they started contacting known family members for payments. Lastly, when I did call back in on XX/XX/XXXX, the assisting agent refused to indicated whether or not my number had been removed from their call list. They would not validate the information so I asked to speak to a manager and they refused. Only after noting that refusing to allow me to speak to one is in fact a violation did they decide to get me to a manager. At that time I confirmed that my number had still not been removed from their system. The manager informed me that they would do so, and I believe that they have.

I was advised I was not responsible for fraudulent charges. Somehow, American Express coded my dispute incorrectly and sent me four letters dated XX/XX/2018, with copies of the credit sale and that the dispute was being closed.

Complaint: Following a recent review of my credit report at the XXXX, XXXX and XXXX consumer reporting agencies, I learned that American Express ( account number XXXX ) was reporting delinquent 30 days when this was not the case. In fact, the account should report paid as agreed with no delinquency whatsoever. I contacted the creditor and was advised that the account would be updated and any prior delinquencies would be removed as said delinquency was no fault of mine. To date, this - apparently - has not been done and my credit score has been severely impacted. Please investigate my concerns and compel the creditor to correct my account with them. As an account holder since XX/XX/2008, I deserve more.

Complaint: I responded to an online advertisement for an American Express XXXX XXXX card offering {$200.00} statement credit for any purchase on XXXX and another XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) miles after spending {$1000.00} on XX/XX/2018. After I received my new card, I sent some money on a XXXX flight on XX/XX/2018 but did not see {$200.00} credit on my statement. On XX/XX/2018 I called Amex and spoke to operator XXXX who promised {$200.00} credit in 6-8 weeks. XXXX also encouraged me to spend {$1000.00} on the card by promising that I would get XXXX XXXX frequent flyer miles ( I have the conversation recorded and can provide a copy of the recording if needed. Because of XXXX confirmation I used the card to send over {$1000.00}. ) However, after 8 weeks have passed and I called XXXX I was told that they are not going to honor their promise and that I was not going to get {$200.00} or XXXX miles. The excuse I was given is that I used to have a similar card in the past. I was also told to send a letter explaining the situation to XXXX. However, it has beed almost 2 months since I sent the letter and no response came.

Complaint: I responded to an American Express account opening bonus offer, wherein I was offered XXXX bonus points if I spent {$2000.00} on the credit card in first 3 months. I applied and was approved for this card in late XX/XX/2018. I spent more than {$2000.00} on the card by XX/XX/18. I contacted customer care via online chat on XX/XX/18, who confirmed that I had completed the requirements for the bonus, and that the bonus will be credited in 6-8 weeks after the requirements were completed. I contacted them again on XX/XX/18 as the bonus was never credited. I was then told that although I had completed the requirements, the system was not recognizing all the charges for some reason, and that they will have to conduct an investigation which may take 3 months. It has now been 3 months since fulfilling all the requirements for the bonus, and now I will need to wait another 3 months for this investigation.

I told them that I have no connection to them and they need to stop harassing me for a debt that does not belong to me. I am a loyal customer of American Express myself, and I am very upset that they are continuing to harass me when I pay off my balance every month, so they need to remove my # from this other person 's account. Also told him that it is fraud and illegal for them to take down my information and place it on another person 's account in the first place! The person on the phone told me there was nothing he could do and hung up on me.
