Complaint: To whom it may concern, I have been in this dispute with American Express Serve for the last 10 months. The problem with the dispute is I accidentally placed a charged on the original dispute form that I put online on XX/XX/2017. The charge was from XXXX XXXX. I did not mean to put that charge on the original form that I did online. I did however correctly put the charges that I needed disputed on the paper form that I faxed to American Express. Due to all the confusion and miscommunication American Express is punishing me for a human error on my part. The amount that I would be disputing would be XXXX, I would like you to please look over my case and see if there is anything that you guys can do to help me with this I'll be submitting a police report a picture of the original form that I did buy paper fax. Any help that you can give on this case would be great. I hate that I have lost my money due to me putting accidentally the wrong charge on the online dispute form by mistake.

Trouble closing card
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I received an American Express BlueBird prepaid card in the mail. I did not apply or in anyway want this card. They had some of my information with this attempted account. I called customer service and they were less than helpful with their service and the Account Protection people were worse. I had to repeatedly explain over and over that i did not apply for this card nor would I want a card like this. They said that the account was cancelled or closed but refused to provide me with any confirmation via mail that it was closed and resolved. I talked to a " XXXX '' and his supervisor " XXXX '' from the " account protection '' department. It sure seems really fishy to me. They wanted me to confirm via an email they sent before they would send me an email as well rather than a letter. I refused to click or give anymore information than they had already. I would like them to send me a confirmation letter that this was taken care of. This is ridiculous and if this is any indication of how American Express works I would not want to do any business with them.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I applied for an American Express Everyday credit card. I did the application online and was approved immediately. The credit card offer I applied for and was approved for was spend {$2000.00} within 90 days and receive XXXX membership rewards. I did charge the {$2000.00}, in under 60 days and have already paid {$1200.00} of the charges and have a pending automatic payment on the card. I called into XXXX on XX/XX/2018 to confirm I had met the spend requirement and to find out when my welcome bonus would post. XXXX informed me that upon further review they were denying my welcome bonus. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and I spoke to a man named XXXX. He said in their terms and conditions they had the right to deny me the welcome bonus for various reasons. They claimed I had abused XXXX welcome bonuses in the past. This is simply not true and I feel like they did a bait and switch offer. Had I not been eligible for the bonus, they should have told me that upfront rather than after I met the spend requirements. They kept citing the terms and conditions of the card, but there are no specific rules, instead they say it's at their discretion. That is a completely unfair practice and it's completely arbitrary on how they implement the rule. They essentially said we're required to keep a charge card that has an annual fee forever or they will ban consumers from receiving future welcome bonuses.

Complaint: I apply back in XX/XX/XXXX ( Ref : XXXX ) for a green card from american express that offer XXXX rewards point after I spend XXXX in three months, I spend the money and I didn't received my points, I called at the beginning of XXXX and they told me that my application was not associated to that reward points offer, I wait to paid the statement of XXXX to see if after the 3 months they apply my points reward and nothing was applied, On XX/XX/XXXX I was in the chat with a supervisor and they said the same, and that they will open and investigation about that. I just finish to chat with american express again and the said the same that the investigation is open and that they didn't see link to my application the welcome offer. I have the gold car from american express and with this card I have the same or best Amex Offers & Benefit than with the green card. the only reason that I applied for the Green was for the XXXX points offer, and they said now that the benefits from my application in that card was the XXXX fee annual the first year, that its ridiculous how i'm going to apply for a card that only offer XXXX annual fee the first year?

The letter states, " In order to continue processing your application, please supply the following information : Your home address. Please provide a letter from your bank confirming your home address. To ensure timely resolution, please ensure the letter is on original letterhead from the bank and contains the following : *The banker 's name, title, hours of availability and signature. *Confirmation of your home address *Main number to the bank branch *An extension or personal line to the banker when applicable. '' It also states, " This information is essential to your protection as well as our records ... Please include reference number XXXX. '' I called the fraud department and was unable to get any details about why my application was immediately sent to the fraud department. I informed XXXX, Fraud Department Customer Care, ID number XXXX, that his request was a violation of the Patriot Act, Privacy Act, to have a 3rd party who doesn't even know me verify my address. I asked why his company didn't just request a Drivers License or bank statement. His only reply was " other bank 's write them, try a different bank. '' This letter request is a violation of my privacy, and I have the right to know why my application went directly to a Fraud Department.

Complaint: I contacted American Express ( AE ) before I registered to make sure I can get a credit limit high enough to handle my entire transfer. They said they can not tell until after the approval but if it was to low I would be able to contact them after the 30 days to get a credit increase.On XX/XX/XXXX I signed up for an AE card because it offered 0 % APR on balance transfers. I contacted AE and tried an online increase after the 30 days and it said I had to wait 60 days before I could do that. The balance transfer deal expires in 60 days. I would not have signed up for the card if I knew I would have to wait the full 60 days and miss the promotion of 0 % APR before I could get an increase of my credit limit if it was to low to start.
I had the ability to transfer a small portion of my balance but that would do anything for me that is why I was checking and verifying with them through out the whole process to make sure I could do this and get the higher limit so I can transfer the entire amount.
I feel like they used a bait and switch on me. I was told I could do something so I signed up and then by the time they would let me do it I missed the promotion and now stuck with a higher APR if I wanted to transfer.
Another thing that is bothering me is they said I can not do a balance transfer until I get and authenticate the card, but they start the promotion count down from the day you were approved. They shipped my card on XX/XX/XXXX and I received it on XX/XX/XXXX. So that is 20 days I was not able to do the balance transfer missing out on 1/3 of the available time.

Complaint: I have a Bluebird prepaid debit card with American Express. On Tuesday XX/XX/2018 I received an email stating that I needed to verify my account or that it would be deactivated. On Wednesday XX/XX/2018 I had a scheduled direct deposit of my paycheck going to the card, which indeed posted, however only minutes later, someone assumed my account and made 2 unauthorized money transfers to someone named XXXX XXXX. The first was in the amount of {$47.00} ( XXXX ), the 2nd transfer was for {$1000.00} ( XXXX ). This left my family with {$0.00} total - I immediately in less than an hour contacted American Express upon receiving the email notifications of these sent money transfers, however they stated that the money was already gone. They opened the fraud claim investigation. I filed a police report with XXXX XXXX police department in XXXX SC. Friday night XX/XX/18 they emailed me stating that my claim was denied because the transfers were authorized. I insisted and they reopend the investigation, per their own policy they state that they may take up to 45 days to conduct their investigation, however a provisional credit will be issued if it exceeds the 10th day, and that I would have been made aware of the progress being made, and I've heard nor seen anything and the 10th day was on XX/XX/2018. I forwarded them the screen shots of the emails that are still actively coming to me to " verify '' my account as well as gave them information pertaining to where the police report was filed at,.

Complaint: My issue is related to an American Express Business Credit Card. I have been enrolled in a credit monitoring service for years. I never received any notification of a credit application, or an account in my credit report, nor did I ever receive a card, bill, or notice. Out of nowhere, I get dinged by AMEX and my credit score drops 160 points for a credit card default of {$15000.00}. I call AMEX and they will not provide me with any statements, any mailing address/email address information on the account, or if any payments had ever been made and by whom they were made. They tell me that I am personally liable for this debt. They also told me that AMEX Business Credit does NOT report to any credit agency UNTIL an account is in default. In this day and age, how is this possible? There needs to be some regulation that any credit account ( personal or BUSINESS ) that requires the credit bureaus be notified of an application AND the account posted to the " guarantors '' credit report. AMEX is NEGLIGENT in this matter. They need to remove this debt from my credit report, and my credit score needs to be reset to it's prior value immediately.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I placed a call to American Express Card company about an inflated balance that I noticed on my card.
I spent a long time on the phone discussing this matter, but I noticed that the customer service agents were trying to mislead me so that they can hide the true information which was that their system incorrectly inflated my balance to reflect a higher amount than should be.
I asked them to add the sum of all the charges during the billing period, they could not amount to this, XXXX, XXXX USD balance that was shown.
All of a sudden, the agent began to tell me that she could not hear me that the line was fading in and out.
So I told her to give me a call back because the issue might be coming from their end.
She said that is fine that she would call but she never did.
Next, I called again after waiting for several minutes and the next agent began this process again, wasting my time for over an hour and still she would not help resolve this issue. She kept claiming that there is a rollover balance. I do not know how a balance rolls over without any record of charges backing it up.
All other charges are shown and evident but a certain amount had been exfiltrated and this has doubled my balance.
Kindly help. This card company has been so unfair to me.
They do not extend any help to me or allow temporary increases in limit to meet an emergency. They use all forms of tactics to deny me such privileges that other people receive.
I told one of them today that I believe that they are discriminating against me and it seems that they are retaliating because I have reported them before. Of-course, they deny it but I sense it in the way they interact with me on the Gold Rewards card team.
At this time, I wish to report that this company needs to provide evidence to me how the money left my account.
Secondly, there is a change to the Gold Card which I have, the card is being redesigned, that is fine, but the problem is that it appears that I would have to start paying 3 times the current annual fees from next XXXX!
I can not do that and I do not want them to be able to do that.
When I got my card, I was told I have to pay a lower amount in annual fee.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: American Express had promised me that if I book tickets using their card I would be covered with travel insurance which includes trip cancellation and itenary changes.
Now when I want to go ahead and cancel the tickets due to emergency situation I have been told by the travel agent I would be charged {$200.00} for cancellation and American Express doesnt want to go ahead And reimburse me the amount as promised and advertised.

Complaint: I had a closed American Express Gold Credit Card ( Account Ending XXXX ). I am in the process of refinancing and tried to payoff this credit credit through the escrow. Both the refinancing bank ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and I both tried to get a payoff statement from American Express Customer Service. The agent and the supervisor told me that they can not provide the payoff information which good for 30 days in writing. The said this is the company policy. I asked where I can find it in the term and condition of the I believed the credit card company has had to provide the payoff information to the consumer on demand. The only reason that I can think of is the company does not want the consumer to payoff the card faster.
I hope the agency can investigate this issue which affect the right of the consumer to payoff the credit card faster.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I used my American Express Serve card to issue a check payment for {$1300.00} for the payment of my nephew 's rent. American Express Serve then stated via their website that the payment would be mailed out on XX/XX/18 and that the payment was guaranteed to arrive on XX/XX/18. On XX/XX/18 I received a phone call from my nephew 's landlord and she stated that the rent check was not received as of XX/XX/18 and since then I have spoken with her two additional times and as of XX/XX/18, no payment had been received by her. On XX/XX/18 I called American Express served I requested they place a stop-payment on the rent check and issue a credit to my Serve account. They initially stated on XX/XX/18 that my account would be credit on XX/XX/18, on the XX/XX/XXXX I called American Express Serve to tell them my account was not credited, they then said I would be credited in 10 Business days or up to 45 days. Every time I call they tell me a different estimate of when I will receive my money back, even though the check they mailed out has never been received or cashed.

'' At the onset of the scheduled court hearing ( case ), I was attacked at my home business ; the home invasion felony false pretense forced entry -- two Auto Lock Locksmith 's w/a gang of about ten others started removing the front door locks on my home business building : not on my XXXX XXXX XXXX that's still locked inside my garage being stolen -- armed robbery grand theft larceny assault has NOT ended. I was forced to rent a motel room for my safety and living necessity : I rented XXXX # XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX AZ XXXX. The property management said : yes, but we don't get paid the money ; there was no one who could really ask for payment.
AmEx billed me slightly over {$3600.00} ( three thousand, six hundred ) and after the XXXX XXXX XXXX owner/manager merchant could not respond to dispute : AmEx refunded {$600.00}. AmEx -- not any rightful owed merchant : the room was legally not rentable in accordance to AZ state laws -- stole {$3000.00} from me by demanding I pay a motel bill that only AmEx employees were charging. XXXX XXXX XXXX did not have a valid merchant bank account : AmEx knew it. I only got the {$600.00} back after the very same man who held me at gunpoint at my home business ( XXXX XX/XX/XXXX ) arrived at the motel to order me out of XXXX # XXXX, despite my already having paid AmEx for it ( in advance by a week : my week quite up yet ).
I relocated across the street to the XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX AZ XXXX where I was constantly told my money payment -- what I was paying to AmEx for 'XXXX XXXX XXXX ' XXXX # XXXX rent -- wasn't as good as no payment at all or certainly not as good as invalidated bogus bank ( XXXX money ) card payments. I finally was forced to relocate to a back room that is not rentable for money payment either ( in accordance to AZ state law ). AmEx has billed me {$4800.00} for XXXX # XXXX at the XXXX XXXX : but " XXXX '' has not been paid any of it. XXXX XXXX does not have a valid merchant bank account for AmEx to pay with my money. BUT I'VE HAD TO PAY MY AMEX BILL -- or lose my card priviledges -- AND MY PAYMENTS HAVE BEEN DEBITED ( subtracted ) OUT OF MY AMEX SAVINGS ACCOUNT available balance : it's just not been paid anyone. The only entity billing me for charges on my AmEx card is AmEx : over {$16000.00} worth since XXXX XXXX! And that's how much has been debited ( subtracted ) from my AmEx savings account available -- for my needs -- balance. AmEx is NOT paying any of the merchants for the charges on my card : they do not have valid merchant bank accounts to get paid. AmEx employees think they can force me into death or irreparable homelessness and unemployment dispair by stealing all my money and by not really stealing : it's all still inside my AmEx savings account or it's only debited ( subtracted ) on the bank account statements AmEx presents to me. For my practical purpose : over {$16000.00} has been stolen and even if only by relocation in my account to " unavailable balance '' ...
When XXXX and then XXXX immediately thereafter ( by order of US Fed Reserve Bank-US Treasury ) closed XX/XX/XXXX, all the merchants -- XXXX, USPS, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and more : it was like a distortion of communism that evolved from the mass FDIC bank failure crisis XXXX -- lost their merchant account pay ( bank ) arrangement.
Since that time, AmEx has demanded I pay only AmEx for my purchase charges because NO ONE ELSE IS REALLY CHARGING ME AND THE REASON IS THEY CAN NOT GET PAID : THEY DON'T HAVE VALID MERCHANT ACCOUNTS AT BANKS TO PAY. The merchants all say they aren't really charging me but AmEx is charging and debiting my AmEx savings account balance. If I don't get the money reinstated to my AmEx savings account " available '' balance, no one will ever get the use the money. Why AmEx does it : to dangle the theft amount like a golden carrot to enable stealing money from even more victims and specifically, from other AmEx employees.
The point to it -- however -- is moot : AmEx employees and all that's left of the public majority have less than -XXXX- money and no money access. It's indefinite : they will never have/earn or own any money of their own and they do not care -- they are all in invalidated bogus bank card use heaven right now : while supplies last -- because they all psychotically thought the only income they were being paid was money being stolen from murdered victims. That NEVER HAPPENED : they were not being allowed to steal any money from other persons ( dead or alive ) but that brain damaged understanding is why they were more than happy to get only XXXX " spend '' for ever $ XXXX " negative balance credit debit '' on what was their XXXX/XXXXXXXX ( XXXX ) pay/debit cards. All the bogus bank pay/debit cards were invalidated, XXXX XXXX ; it's over. It will never happen again.
I have not -- despite legitimate efforts to regain safe passage/access to my property by court order -- been able to be at my home business because they all think they can murder me to use my money and property to support themselves instead ... Who are they?! Nearly every other person including American Express employees as a leader of their pack : almost the entire population is now just XXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ; not one productive affluent -- educated, healthy, income earning, fine business reputation, property owner, tax payer -- person can live anywhere at the US without suffering chronic assault. They think robbing a person to death is the only way they've ever earned support.
