Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I purchased a ticket for my brother on XXXX XXXX. There was a problem with the way he was treated, I told AmEx, they CREDITED my account the full amount of {$810.00}. XXXX XXXX is not accepting that. I told AmEx that XXXX XXXX is not accepting that. AmEx told ME to tell XXXX XXXX to contact AmEx. I did tell XXXX XXXX that and they said that AmEx always sides with their customers and I am still responsible for the full amount of of {$810.00} Every morning at XXXX XXXX I get a computerized call because this bill is not unpaid.

Complaint: American Express ( AMEX ) offered me a credit card Promotion and they accepted my application under the guise of that promotion. I then charged the required amount, within the specified period of time, and then immediately paid off the amount charged less the statement credit promised under the promotion of {$150.00}. AMEX never followed through with crediting the account the {$150.00} and after my following up with them several times the end result was they told me I was disqualified from the promotion and they ultimately turned the account over to collections. I have fully documented all the phone calls with AMEX and the collection company. I have attached a copy of the final letter that I sent AMEX which summarizes my dispute and my efforts to bring this situation to a close. The outstanding balance owed on this credit card began with the {$150.00} promotion credit that they refused to give me and now includes the exorbitant late charges and interest that they are applying to that {$150.00}. The American Express corporation may be a huge company but they should not be allowed to " strong arm '' the consumer!

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I applied for an American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card. Prior to submitting the online application there was a pop-up saying that I was ineligible for the sign up bonus because the system thought I had received this offer previously, when I have not. I called American Express Customer service to confirm that I have never previously received this bonus, and they confirmed to me that I was indeed eligible for the sign up bonus ( XXXX MR / {$2000.00} spend ). The representative claimed that the system improperly marked that I had previously had the card because I was put as an authorized user on my wife 's own Premier Rewards Gold Card. They confirmed that being an authorized user would not prevent me from receiving the sign up-bonus. After being assured that I would receive the bonus after applying and guaranteed that I would receive the bonus via phone ( XX/XX/2018 ), I submitted my application. After being approved, I Live Chatted with a representative to make sure that the offer was attached to my account. The offer was not attached to my card, and an investigation was opened to resolve the issue. I was told that since I was reassured via phone call ( again XX/XX/2018 ) and guaranteed that I would receive the sign up offer, I should have no issues. I was told to wait a few weeks while the matter was being investigated. I have checked back in with American Express Representatives many times in the past month to check the status of the application.Today XX/XX/2018 I checked the status of the investigation again and was told that I was denied the sign up bonus. When asked the reason they claimed that I have misused the offer. I only just opened the card and have only 1 other credit card with them ; I have never misused any offers. When I asked for them to be specific, they were unable to provide any details. They told me that they can re-open the investigation, but I would have to wait 6-8 weeks before I could check back in to check the status of the investigation. When asked to escalate the issue, because I have already waited a month, they insist that they can only have me wait another 6-8 weeks before I can hear back. I feel as though American Express business practices are very deceitful. I was promised I would have no issues with the sign up bonus BEFORE applying and the representative said that I would " 110 % receive the bonus. '' After reassuring me to apply, and that I was eligible, my account had no offer attached and now after the investigation they claim that I have misused the offer. When I asked for them to clarify how I have misused their offer, they are unable to provide any specific details as to how I misused their offer. They claimed that they would re-open the investigation and want me to wait 6-8 weeks before they can tell me what they should have already investigated.
