Complaint: Re : Bluebird account ending in XXXX I had an American Express Bluebird account to provide my minor child with a debit card she could use in case of emergencies.
In XXXX of this year, my regular bank account experienced fraud and a payment to Bluebird was returned. Bluebird immediately closed my account. I really didnt mind because the account was only to fund my daughters card, but I am having the worst time getting the small balances refunded. The Bluebird phone representatives are poorly trained and everyone states something different.
The most recent person I spoke with ( XXXX, Employee # XXXX ) stated that I had to write American express to receive the refund for my daughters sub-account ( XXXX XXXX ). This is after I was already able to receive a refund for my account by making a phone call. After making several unfruitful calls to American Express for less than {$30.00}, it seemed time to escalate this.
In addition, I received a check from American Express for {$4.00}. However, when I deposited it, it was dishonored by American Express, incurring a {$5.00} fee for a returned deposit.
All I want to is recoup the XXXX + {$5.00}, plus the approximately {$25.00} in my daughter 's account and be done with American Express. Geez.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I initially contacted American Express on XX/XX/XXXX for charges that occurred on my account XX/XX/XXXX. The reason for the delay was because I had to make sure that I tried everything possible to make this plan that I signed up for work. The charge was for XXXX XXXX for a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX how to sell on XXXX. Well, I received some of the training and had use of their website, etc., but it was not the " we will help you succeed '' tools that I paid for. On XX/XX/XXXX I try to contact the company and the phone message states that the company is temporarily closed. I called someone I had met at training and they tell me the FTC has filed a complaint.
XX/XX/XXXX I file a compliant with AmEx with the fraud department stating that I had been a victim of fraud, that I did not get all the services I paid for. On XX/XX/XXXX I got an email stating I had a message at AMEX they had closed my dispute and did not give me a reason. I opened another on XX/XX/XXXX again this dispute was closed in XXXX, but I misunderstood, I thought they were awarding me the $ but they actually put the charge back on. They said it was because they had sent me an email asking for additional information, which I did not get. I told them I would have happily sent them the required information. So, on XX/XX/XXXX opened again and got the phone # to upload my documents which I did on XX/XX/XXXX. So, now on XX/XX/XXXX I get an email telling me it's closed again and I'm responsible for the charge and again no explanation why. XX/XX/XXXX I Call and talk to a rep and he says I was denied because I said it was fraud and it wasn't, I agreed to the charge. Which I did and that if I would have said I didn't receive the items then I would have gotten some of my money back. I told him in the documents I sent it states clearly that I didn't receive a lot of the items and I mentioned which ones. Well, he said you listed it as fraud and not missing items and therefore it was denied. I asked why if in my explanation I state I did not receive certain items that it could have been researched that way and he said because I selected the fraud button. I told him that the other selection was did not receive merchandise and that was incorrect because I did receive some. I can't believe that I would lose all that money over semantics. I was trying to be honest, I did receive some merchandise but not all. Now he states it's too late for me to do anything, even though I started it back in XXXX.
XXXX XXXX have been charged with fraud and been ordered to pay {$10.00} XXXX out. I have filed a claim with the FTC but it could be years if anything comes from it, in the meantime I have a credit debt with nothing to show for it. Thanks for your time.

Complaint: I am a holder of an American Express Platinum personal credit card. I started my own small business on XX/XX/2018 and needing a business credit card to separate all business related expenses I called American Express Business credit line on XX/XX/2018 to inquire about their Platinum business credit card. When I spoke to the representative, I specifically informed her I was interested in applying for the credit card if they would waive the business annual credit card fee of {$450.00} since I had just paid the {$550.00} annual fee on the personal Platinum product on XX/XX/2018. She informed she would not be able to tell me at the time if it was possible until after I completed the application but that this was very likely. She informed me I would have to apply for the business credit card first and once I received the card, I would have to call back to speak to the personal accounts department that manage the personal business Platinum accounts so they could work something out with me. I reiterated I was not interested in paying two yearly fees since I had just paid the personal Platinum card yearly fee and she confirmed it had been paid in XXXX and said it was very likely they would be able to do something about the fee.
She processed the application and I was approved the same day after speaking with an additional department to verify my income. I informed the next individual I spoke with I would be closing my personal Amex Platinum credit card and I was applying for the card for business related expenses but was only applying because I would be able work out something with Amex regarding the business credit card yearly fee. This individual also told me to go ahead and wait to cancel the card until I received the new business card and he informed me he would be able to expedite the card.
I received the business Platinum credit card the next day on XX/XX/2018. I called the business Platinum line, activated my card and informed them of the information I had received on XX/XX/2018 and they transferred me to the personal Platinum credit line where the representative informed me they could not do this because this was after the 30 days since the credit card yearly fee had been paid. I informed the representative this was not the information I had been given by the representative that processed my application the day before on XX/XX/2018 and he said there was nothing he could do about it. I informed him this seemed to be a bait and switch offer and I was led to apply for their business product with misleading information which led me to believe if I confirmed I would cancel the personal credit card I would be receiving a credit on their business credit card yearly fee to avoid the initial {$450.00} fee. I disconnected the call and called the business Platinum line and spoke to another representative who informed me they would not be able to issue a refund for the {$550.00} fee on the personal card but that they could prorate it since it was two months later and she transferred me the personal card department. Again, I was told this would not be possible and they refused to escalate the issue to a manager. I questioned why the information I was receiving from their business side was different and the representative did not want to escalate until Saturday because according to her there were not managers/supervisors available to review the call until Saturday. I requested to speak with a manager on Friday and they informed me no managers would be available until Saturday. I disconnected the call and called the business department again and the third time they informed me I had been issued a credit for {$450.00} and that she could see it on my account, which was the prorated amount of the personal credit card yearly fee. She transferred me again to the personal credit card department since she was unable to see anything else on my account and when I was transferred the representative informed me this information was incorrect and they had not issued a credit. The representative again refused to escalate my request to speak to a manager and informed me he would have to have a manager call me back. He refused to use the information on the system as a mode of contact and asked me to confirm my contact information which had been verified the day before when my application was process. I asked him to use the information on file and he refused. I called the business line again and informed the new representative of the misleading information and she agreed to escalate my call to a manager but the call disconnected.

Complaint: American Express incorrectly decreased my credit limit from {$10000.00} to {$9400.00}, I supplied my XXXX showing income of {$160000.00} in 2017. They increased my limits back to {$10000.00}. BUT XXXX only acknowledging the decrease which in turn caused all other credit bureaus to report decreases, now my score is XXXX, I have no late payments to AMX and in being punished in my scores for their errors. XXXX is impossible to contact and im Really angry they are reporting inaccurate information. Their records do not show my incomes, so their ratios are wrong and Im a consumer that never just makes a minimum payment I have aged accounts and Im so upset they can just create their own version of the truth and I cant get them to even acknowledge their fraud much less correct. Complaint: I contacted American Express at XXXX at approximately XXXX ET on XX/XX/XXXX in an attempt resolve an issue with credit reporting on my card. When I finally got through I explained my situation to the representative on the phone, the rep then transferred my over to another department who was offshore in XXXX. When speaking to the rep I explained my situation but he offered no formal process of even reviewing my request. He would not even hear it, I was expecting an American company in accordance with U.S laws and the FCRA to offer me a process to review and ultimately resolve my issue.

Complaint: Hi I was approved for American Express credit card and I got my credit card in the mail on XX/XX/2018 and I needed a ride for lyft and my credit card didnt go through so I called American Express and they told they needed some documents from me and I fax it to them and had it notarized and also fax in my ID and I never heard back from them and I called them and they told me it will take 72 hours for them to call me and they never called and told me I have to wait another 72 hours and I did a balance transfer to pay off my other credit cards and they told me there no records of balance transfers and I will upset and told me give it another 48 hours to reflect on there systems and I need to have my credits cards paid off so I wont be in debt ... .. and American Express ask for my phone number in name and I told them I change it because I didnt like XXXX and I want a better service and I gave them this number XXXX and they said its a bad number ... ..

Complaint: I had applied for the American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card on XX/XX/2018. I received an approval and got the card within few days as promised. As per the Card terms, if I would spend a minimum of {$3000.00} within the first 3 months, I would be awarded with XXXX bonus points. After meeting the minimum spend criteria, when the points were not reflecting in my account, I decided to contact the customer service of American Express. To my utter shock, they informed me that I am being declined the bonus and that the same was intimated to me during application. I vehemently deny this statement, as I was not informed at all regarding this during the application procedure. This is a malpractice wherein the financial institution is luring customers with false promises of bonus reward points and later declining them. I have been a victim of false marketing and promises and would like to raise my utter concern regarding the same.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 I requested a paper check be issued for {$200.00} to my father XXXX XXXX XXXX from my prepaid American Express Serve card. The company issued a check for said amount and indicatedd my father would receive the check within 3 days. XX/XX/2018. The check never arrived and has never been cashed. I filed a request for a stop payment on the check but, yesterday I received an automated letter that they can not issue a stop payment on an ach transfer. The transfer was not ACH since I never provided an account number or routing number for my father, it was supposed to be a paper check which is clearly indicated when you log on to their website. I called today and they say that they need further investigation and will not have any information until XX/XX/2018. I have made several attempts calling the company but they are unwilling or unable to credit the missing {$200.00} back to my Serve Card. I was told yesterday that the stop payment would be issued and today XX/XX/2018 the {$200.00} would be available for use. Today I call and they again mis inform me that I must wait until XX/XX/2018 for them to complete an investigation into their own deceptive practices and I fear that I will once again simply receive a form letter refusing to stop payment and keep my money. Please help.
