Complaint: About 5 or 6 months ago, I purchased a mattress for {$400.00} from this place ( can't recall the name ) where I applied for credit to cover the extended payment process. They delivered the mattress before the approval came back ( on a Sat evening ) and on Mon morning, 2 days later, I received an email from Acima credit saying I was denied based on several factors. I contacted the guy I got the mattress from asking what was the next step and he told me to see how it plays out. So about 3 weeks later, these deductions started coming out of my account, which was no big deal, I just figured it would take the {$400.00} and we'd be done. But about a month ago now, a payment disappeared where they are trying to charge me all these ridiculous late fees around {$40.00} for a payment that was made. So I contacted them to find out if it could be resolved and asked how much I owed so I could get the thing paid off and be done, they informed me that I owe over $ 800+. I asked how I owed so much and they told me that I owe them for the original balance plus the 1 year lease and financing, to which I asked, how do I owe you for a financing plan that you denied me for? They are trying to tell me that they NEVER ever sent me a denial letter. I feel like there's something fishy going on and needing help figuring out what I am dealing with. I don't deny owing {$400.00} minus 6 months of {$18.00} per week, but how am I being charged for something I was denied for?

Complaint: None of the choices before this, matched my complaint. I chose the closest fit.
I got a mattress as a " lease '' with Acima credit. I was not able to pay off in 90 days, at which time, the lease more than doubled. I was never sent or given a truth-in-lending, just a generic paper showing that the mattress was {$600.00} and I paid down {$100.00}.
I contacted Acima three different times upon finding out the amount of interest they charge and told them to pick up the mattress. They refused, saying they needed pictures of the mattress, which I am not equipped to do. I told them by email three times to come and get it. It is now showing on my credit report.
I feel this company does not operate legally. The complaints on their XXXX page and XXXX page are reflective of this, with almost all customers saying they did not receive appropriate paperwork.
I would like this removed from my credit report ASAP. If they want the mattress, they can still come pick it up. I refuse to pay {$1700.00} for a {$600.00} mattress, that several payments were paid on before seeing the amount they charge in interest.

Complaint: I have received no collection notice from a company known as ACIMA CREDIT, but they have posted a collection on my XXXX credit report. I am at least entitled under the validation process of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to obtain a transfer notice showing signatures with the original creditor. There is not even a statement on the XXXX post of what company the indebtedness is owed to, The timeline for deletion would fall under the original creditor based upon the 7-year rule. This collection may well be beyond the legitimate timeline to even collect upon, and under the order of the office of Attorney General in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts I am entitled a notice that the collection is no longer enforceable. In the case, the collection is illegal and all references to my information must be purged from the credit bureaus as well as deleted from the internal process of ACIMA CREDIT XXXX XXXX. I demand a full validation with signed agreements to even collect a debt under FDCPA regulations.

Complaint: So I leased bedroom furniture through Acima credit. And I have had this furniture for almost a year with no issues or missed payments. All of a sudden I received and email saying my account was passed due. So I reached out to Acima Credit in regards to the past due amount and ask if they could put the past due payments to the end of the loan and of course they said no. Honestly this company is so ridiculous with not working with people who were on time since they leased this furniture. I cant afford to pay them the past due amount only weekly payments which I was doing. And please take the late payments of my credit. Honestly It was them who stopped taking payments.Yet they harass me with repossession threats!

Complaint: My car had to undergo repairs at a shop in XXXX, Fl around XXXX of this year 2018. The store recommended, because of the amount of the cost for the repair, to get approved by a company who will do the financing, ACIMA from Utah. Those people immediately called me and started sending me text messages for me to sign the " agreement '' OVER MY PHONE. They were giving me just minutes as deadlines to get the ball rolling and be able to take my car from the shop. Unfortunately, and due to the pushing and the deadlines, I did that and signed over the phone, without being able to read the " Agreement '' in its entirety.
I had to leave the country on XX/XX/2018 and returned last XX/XX/XXXX due to a family issue ( death in the family ), and to my surprise, yesterday I received a call from ACIMA, telling me I was behind on the XXXX and XXXX payments because they were unable to pull the payment from the Card on file. My bank account got hacked during my trip and because of my circumstances abroad I didn't have my new card which was sent to my home in USA, and didn't even think about that payment coming out of my card either, but once I explained that to the person who contacted me yesterday, I asked him, just by chance, what was my payoff. That company is a total ripoff, they charge usury charges that are in the range of 100 % or more annual interest. The original amount being supposedly " financed '' was {$390.00} Dollars. they had me pay {$53.00} at the beginning, to them tell me that amount was " added '' to the " lease '', and that they are not " financing '' but " leasing the debt ''!
Once I got back home I went online and was finally able to read the whole " agreement '' I was forced to sign over the phone without having a chance to read it. As per their agreement, the total amount I would pay if I waited 12 months, will be {$800.00} + dollars. That is more than a 100 % interest rate per year, which, as per my understanding, is illegal and a crime in the US based on usury practices!
I spoke to a supervisor over there at ACIMA and she told me that if I had paid the whole amount back on XX/XX/XXXX ( just a week ago, and while I was abroad ), my payoff amount would be in the range of the {$400.00} 's dollars.I had paid them {$220.00} already, on a debt of {$390.00}, yet they are pretending to charge me {$75.00} dollars for not paying off on the XXXX, plus {$50.00} more for not being able to pull both payments, plus I am not sure what, for the total above or more!
So that's where I am standing and I refuse to support those usury practices and pay those outrageous amounts.

Complaint: Approved for a mattress on XX/XX/18 and wanted the 90 day payoff. Called in on XX/XX/XXXX to change the payment amount for it to end on XX/XX/18. Noticed that XXXX was taking out the incorrect amount on what was supposed the final payment. Called in and spoke with XXXX XXXX senior agent who acknowledged that it was their fault that their system didnt change the payment amount and that we had to go full term which was an extra {$600.00}! XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX blamed US for not catching their error. How are you blaming the customer for an admitted error on YOUR PART. Requested {$90.00} be taken out biweekly but they were only taking out half of that amount.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I opened a auto loan and had to pay higher interest due to my debt to income. I was a little confused when I knew my debt to income wasn't that high. So XX/XX/XXXX I went to open a motorcycle loan up. I received a call from the credit union saying I have a excessive amount of payments I make monthly and they were uncertain I could afford the purchase I tried to make. At this point i wanted to see what was going on. After reviewing my credit report the credit union pointed out acima credit was reporting I was making almost $ 800 month payments and failed to report for several months and was breaking federal laws. I had to contact acima and wait for documents saying they made mistakes. This was a very stressful time and still effects me to this day. The balance acima has now is just interest. I paid the total purchase price. I told acima that seeing what I was put through and the fact I'm paying higher interest on my auto loan because of there mistakes that i want the account closed and I'm not paying the interest they want. I even offered to pay a little more but I felt they owed me

Complaint: On XX/XX/18 I purchased a remote start system, door speakers and had my windows tinted at XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I was told I was being financed and it would go through Acima credit. When I got the approval email I was informed it was actually a lease agreement. I never was asked too sign anything instead a text was sent too me that the merchant told me they needed to put into the system it stated Notice! Using this code is equal to physically signing your lease agreement with Acima. Code : 5768 ( Reply STOP to unsubscribe ) the lease was never presented nor read too me. I never received a copy or anything. The work I had done was roughly around 800 some odd dollars. With a early buyout option for 900 some odd dollars. I was told originally by the merchant the early pay off was the amount of which I had the work done for but later found it out it was actually about {$100.00} dollars more. Meanwhile I didnt make the early payoff date and was later informed that Id have to pay installments on the lease that equalled up too almost 1900 dollars. I never was informed of this if I had been I definitely wouldnt have agreed too it. I contacted acima trying to get a copy where I signed something stating this and they told me that it was signed using that code they sent me. I never even had a chance too read anything as the merchant had it all on his computer. I asked why I was never sent a copy or anything of the lease agreement. And they told me I was sent one. I then asked for them them to send me some form of documentation as too when they sent the supposed email and they told me they couldnt provide me with that information for security purposes. They never sent me a lease agreement Ive went through every email from them including my junk and spam folders and never was informed of this. Im just now finding out theyre charging me for this XXXX dollars for XXXX dollars worth of work because Im in the process of purchasing my first home. And was informed this lease had to be taken off my credit before I could close.

Complaint: I purchased furniture From XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX Maryland for the price of {$140000.00}. With a 3 month payment plan. I was told after the 3 months I would be charged interest, however the exact amount was not determined. They simply said no interest for 3 months then it could be up to % 50 interest. Prior to the One month into the furniture purchase the loan company, ACIMA charged {$3000.00} loan against my credit! I did not borrow {$3000.00} and it was reported as a loan against my credit without my knowledge before their 3 month deadline. I contacted the company and they said that is standard. It is not, it is a lie! This {$1400.00} loan that appears on my credit as a {$3000.00} loan with their inflated % XXXX interest caused me to be denied housing assistance by XXXX and lowered my credit score 200 points. Also the company, ACIMA, emailed me a fraudulent contract which I NEVER signed or agreed to saying I agreed to pay {$3000.00} for {$1400.00} furniture, I DID NOT! The electronic signature is false and is not my signature. Furthermore, I still have the copy of the original agreement that I signed along with the furniture representative. I would like ACIMA to take this {$3000.00} off of my credit and adhere to the original agreement with reasonable interest, since I did not borrow {$3000.00} in the first place. This practice is predatory lending and downright theft, it must be stopped. It is FRAUD! Everything is based on credit scores in America and the idea that a company can put a false loan on a persons credit is scary and disturbing IT IS CRIMINAL!
