Complaint: Last year around XXXX i went to Car Hop. A Buy here Pay here car lot. they told me i could put any amount of money down and drive off with any of the selected cars i was approved for. They did not tell me the price until i signed the papers. at the time i was in desperate need because i had to get back and forth to work and school. i did n't have any help but never wanted to put myself in a fix. And at the time i was only XXXX. But i ended up picking an SUV i found interest in. I asked the price but they ignored the question. so i just followed through because i was just excited that i got approved. After i signed the papers i asked the price again and they ended up telling me it was {$8000.00} almost {$9000.00}.! but at that point i could n't bag out because i already signed paper work. If they would have to me the price when i first asked i would n't have ever purchased a 2003 XXXX for that price. so that 's the first way Car Hop had gotten over on me. Second i 've had complications with this SUV since i first got it. the altinator always go out, the tires always blowing up and i put my life in jeopardy driving on the highway because of this. I 've put more money into this car than anything! Last, now since they 're closed down ( and the car is down now as i speak ), im trying to get another car but i ca n't. Everything car lot tell me that Car Hop put me in a bad position because first they put A LOT of interest on the car plus they over charged me, plus they messed up my credit. Im only XXXX and cant get nothing because of the broken SUV that 's on my name. Every car lot tells i would have to get a second loan or they will have to add the rest of the SUV onto my new car ( making my new car note $ XXXX {$500.00} ) and i feel its just unfair. i need to get this car off my name. I need money or for Car Hop to get this car off my name. I 've been patient for so long but its got to a point where it 's ruining my life!! im only a college student with a full time job. I cant get anything or get approved for anything in my name because of an over charged car with high interest from Car Hop!

Complaint: This company is scamming off of innocent people who just want to buy a car and improve their credit. First, they do not allow you to choose a car, they give you the one on the lot in the worst condition. for example, I purposely stated that I did not want a XXXX and that is the only XXXX they would let me have. I have since found out that the car is worth only {$200.00} and they charged me {$11000.00} for it with a 34 % interest. Since I bought this XXXX XXXX XXXX a year ago I have had to replace, the starter, the engine, the CAT, the ERG valve, the wheels, the tires, fix the alignment, complete new brakes, the heat and A/C do n't work, etc. The engine light is on even after their " mechanics '' claimed to fix it ... twice. The majority of what is wrong with the car is NOT covered on their horrible warranty. I have put over {$4000.00} worth of repairs into this car. I would like to also add that they have praised me for having perfect credit with them but yet the first time I was 5 days late on a payment the disabled my starter and would n't take even a partial payment to turn it back on, suffice it to add that I was willing to pay the full payment in 6 days but they refused to cut me any slack.They are charging me {$400.00} a month for a piece of garbage. I tried to trade it in 4 times and all said I was " upside down on the car '' which means I owe more than it 's worth. I AM looking into legal action.

Complaint: I was responding to UAC regarding an email that I received in XX/XX/XXXX regarding a consent order sent to me by email from the CFPB about this company reporting incorrectly to the credit bureaus. I had a lot of problems with them when I was a customer so naturally I wanted to check to make sure my credit reflected correct information. I was advised if already pulled credit report from annual credit report.com and still wanted a copy that we were entitled to one from XXXX and could request it by calling UAC. I did that in on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and spoke with a woman who had no idea what was going on but took my request to the credit department and was told would mail it and they took my new address. That was two months ago and I have yet to receive any credit report from them. I then called UAC today XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and spoke to a XXXX XXXX who was incredibly rude he must have interrupted me 5 times during the conversation and was very argumentative. He had the nerve to tell me that it did n't really apply to me because I have n't done business with them in two years when the email I got about it in XX/XX/XXXX which provided additional information specifically said that it involved accounts that were before XX/XX/XXXX so it definatly concerned me. Then when I basically told him to stop arguing with me and put in my request he took down my new address and married name and said would request my credit report. Then a little while later he called me back to tell me that I was wrong and that they are not sending customer 's credit reports but that is what it says in both emails that I received I was treated with incredible rudeness by this customer service representative ony to have him back off multiple times and say he 's just trying to help me I want to know that my information is correct and I want it taken care of as stated by UAC I have not been a customer of theirs for awhile and I would never be again. Every conversation I ever had with those people the whole time I had a loan was disgusting rudeness I was given a loan modification once to help me out and they failed to let me know at the modifcatin that they were raising my interest rate I think they raised it to like a disgusting 24 or 29 % I had a terrible experience with this company and to call back later with a fully paid off account only to be treated like XXXX again is truly annoying.

Complaint: I decided to do business with CarHop located in XXXX, IL. They financed a XXXX Chevrolet XXXX on XXXX XXXX, XXXX through Universal Acceptance Corporation. Within a month I began to experience troubles with the car and it became unsafe to drive. I took the XXXX Cavalier to CarHop on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and they took the car back and put me into a XXXX Dodge Stratus. I was not required to pay anything for them to put me into another car. Here I am XXXX XXXX, XXXX and my credit report has a derogatory mark on it from Universal Acceptance for an unpaid balance for {$52.00}. I have contacted the company and they stated they can not tell me why I have the balance and all they know is that their records show I have a balance of {$52.00} remaining on the XXXX Chevrolet XXXX. This is ridiculous. For an amount that small if there was a balance on the car at the time of the trade-in the sales representative at CarHop should 've informed me about it. I should not be held responsible for an error on CarHops end. The sales rep failed to mention anything about a remaining balance. And ultimately why should I pay a balance on a car that broke down, had car troubles, and was unsafe to drive all in a months time span.
