Complaint: My fiance and I are paying off a loan on our vehicle. Our vehicle came with an 18 month, XXXX mile warranty. Our engine blew up and needed to be replaced. Please keep in mind this damage is covered under warranty. I believe this business A ) planned for the engine to fail just outside of the mileage warranty, but because we do so much high way driving, the engine gave in before then. I think Car Hop B ) is GROSSLY mistreating and taking advantage of their customers to save a few bucks. We were first told it would be about a week and a half for our vehicle to be repaired, it has now been 3 weeks. After going to the dealership we were stalled for over an hour and the ONLY thing done was we were told our car would be done by this Wednesday. Please know it is outrageous that this is happening when we have not even had this vehicle for 1 year and are below the mileage warranty as well. The damage is covered under warranty but we are stuck paying out of pocket for the tow, we are required to pay a deductible ( Which was at first and on our contract is XXXX then after going to the dealership for help turned into XXXX ), we are paying almost {$300.00} a week for a car rental, and also still paying almost {$300.00} every 2 weeks for our car payment ... .all for a car that this company knowingly sold us broken and were hoping broke after the warranty once we were stuck in our contract and broken car. Unfortunately, they will be paying for a new engine themselves, as they should for a defective vehicle. But what kind of dealership leaves their customer to pay thousands of dollars? Not to mention, there's 16 HOURS of PTO I was forced to use to ensure I did not get fired, lose my home, insurance, and car. We then were told we will need to go through this whole process AGAIN paying out of pocket for being car-less ( again while the vehicle is being repaired under warranty ) to have the transmission ( also under warranty ) repaired at a DIFFERENT shop. On top of all of this we are stalled at the dealership and rushed out rudely and couldn't get the sales associate to print our contract.

Complaint: I filed an application for credit with Car Hop and from the start have had horrible service from the sales rep named XXXX. He failed to follow up with me until I had to reach out to him. XXXX began asking for information from a previous application I submitted which was not the one with my current information on it. When I reached out to XXXX he failed to follow up with my primary form of communication as well. I called Car Hop on XX/XX/2019 to speak with a manager regarding the situation and spoke with XXXX. XXXX is not personable at all at the slightest sign of frustration he began to threaten to hang up on me and not do business with me. I was not verbally abusive not was I screaming, shouting or yelling at him. He stated that because I was making a complaint against him and his employees I was being abusive and he eventually hung up the call. This business failed to communicate with me about my approval or denial of my application on more than 5 occasions both by call and email. They refuse to tell me what the application status is and at this point feel that they have violated my rights as a consumer. I have not received any mail regarding my credit which was run by this business and want any record of them pulling my credit removed from my credit report as they have blatantly failed to provide the service they advertise. They are not conducting fair and reasonable business.

Complaint: I lost my job due to a severe illness preventing me to work. I have a loan with CarHop finance aka Universal Acceptance Corp. And we worked out payment plans and I have emails specifically stating from one person that the payment plans will bring me current and the remaining balance will be pushed back to the end of my loan. I then started to be harassed by another person who says I still owe that balance. She completely ignored the fact that someone else stated I would be current. I went back and forth with her in emails because I do not have a phone to call from at this time. So all of this is documented and she is falsely saying I agreed to make payment plans on the remaining balance when I did not. Before this she said I must pay XXXX dollars so they could push the remaining balance to the end. Although I did not want to, since I was told something different prior, I still did it so they would stop harassing me. They took the XXXX and now won't push it back to the end which of course will later involve a repossession which is wrong because I followed all the instructions given to me since this has happened to me. Please tell me what to do because they are notorious for being criminal.

Complaint: Currently I have a owed on my credit report from XXXX 2012 from Carhop that I just found out about. It is for a total of {$9800.00}. I currently should not owe anything to these guys. As I had the vehicle for 3 days the Check engine light was on the whole time. So I Took it into one of their shops. They said it needed a new engine all together. That they would rebuild one for me and put it in. Almost a month went by as it sat in their shop no new engine no nothing done to it. So went back to the XXXX Carhop to talk to them about all this. They said they were very sorry and gave me my down payment back and everything else I paid up front. Said everything will be cleared. Now I come across this that has been on here since 2012 and had no idea!!!!!! This is not right at all this Carhop company is and was and always will be a very very shady place!!!! I want this removed from my credit Immediately!!!

Complaint: I called Carhop at XXXX on XX/XX/2019, XXXX a senior manager at Carhop answered the phone. I proceeded to tell her I was frustrated because I called over two weeks ago and set a payment arrangement up with an agent because I was unable to pay on time and that agent from two weeks prior never cancelled my auto pay causing my bank account to overdraft twice since then and I was frustrated that I was getting calls and emails saying I needed to set a new arrangement along with over drafting my bank account multiple times since then. I let XXXX know I needed to set a new payment arrangement now and that I was able to pay everything current on XX/XX/2019. She advised me because they sent another auto pay through today I couldn't set a new arrangement and I needed to callback on Tuesday maybe Wednesday after the payment comes back NSF and that I would need to make a payment to set a new payment arrangement again, I became extremely frustrated that I was having to continue to call back and set new arrangements up along with them over drafting my account again, as I was explaining to XXXX how frustrated I was that they didn't cancel my auto pay when I called to set an arrangement previously and advised I couldn't pay, she proceeded to tell me I needed to be quite and listen to her so then maybe I would understand. She proceeded to tell me if I didn't pay something when I call back on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week that my vehicle could be disabled. She continued to cut me off while I was speaking becoming very abusive to me and continuing to tell me to be quite while I was venting why I was so frustrated, XXXX then proceeded to tell me I was being rude and she was going to hang up on me, she hung up the phone on me. I called carhop back at XXXX XX/XX/2019 after being on hold for 6 minutes and 22 seconds, someone picked up didn't say anything and hung up on me I, for a third time, called Carhop again XXXX on XX/XX/2019 when someone finally picked up I asked to speak with a manager, the woman got another senior manager on the phone named XXXX got on the line at XXXX on XX/XX/2019. When I explained what had happened with XXXX to XXXX she proceeded to tell me it was my fault that I didn't ask to cancel the auto pay and it's not their fault they over drafted my bank account. I explained if someone is calling saying they are unable to make their payments on time and is setting up a payment arrangement why would they not cancel the recurring payments they are set up on, XXXX stated it didn't matter and it was my fault for not asking to cancel them when I set the payment arrangement. I became extremely frustrated again and XXXX told me she was going to hang up on me and I could callback again and speak to someone else. I advised her I want to file a complaint with them for the way XXXX and now XXXX have handled the call, XXXX continued to talk over me and said she was hanging up and disconnected to call on me.

Complaint: Hello, Im writing in regards about a Car Company CarHop in XXXX California. Im purchasing and I'm financing a car with them. I have not had a chance to drive my car long due to the fact it has been in the shop twice now. I do understand that all Cars are used, the car that CarHop sold to me was dangerous and should have never been sold to anyone. The car was dangerous just being on the highway, the car could have not passed a safety inspection. CarHop Financed and sold me a car with bad back brakes pads, broken engine mounts, both front wheel hub and bearing broken, front axle was broken, transmission mount broken, alternator went out on the Sixth day I had the car, along with bad bald tires. I received the car XX/XX/XXXX. The car went into the shop XX/XX/XXXX to be repaired. In the beginning they were refusing to fix the problems. I also asked the Sales Manager at CaHop in XXXX if there was a better car I could have, he said No, the only other car was a XXXX XXXX. I also asked the Finance Manager could the Price and the Payments be lowered, I was told No. The mufflers were hanging off the car and were replaced the next day XX/XX/XXXX after I insisted they needed to be replaced! I had to take it to one of their Authorized shops on their list, the Men at the Muffler shop seen that the Mufflers needed to be replaced. The Mufflers has holes in them, they were all bent up cracked and opened. Prior, CarHop told me that the Mufflers were fine and they just needed to be mounted, they also told me that the car had been inspected and it was safe to drive. That was not true, the car had broken Axle and wheel bearing, thats very dangerous to even have a car on the Highway. The first time the Car went to the shop, it was there 12 days. I drove the car for two days because it was having problems again, I took the car in on a Monday, XX/XX/XXXX again, I was told the Alternator was bad by the Mechanic, CarHop Service department ordered a used bad Alternator the 1st time, the 2nd time they ordered a new Alternator. I did receive a call stating that my car will be ready on Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX, I had to wait because it had to be ordered. None of this is right at all, Im just seeing Im not the only person that has been giving a Dangerous car to Finance. I have been reading many horror stories about other People experiences with CarHop mor and more everyday. The car broke down in 7 days, I had to ask them if they could repair what needed to be fix, at first they denied it. I had to send a email to the CEO of the company. Prior to asking about the repairs, I asked if there was a better working car? The answer was no. The second time the car broke down because CarHop purchased a used alternator. I have asked CarHop in person and over the phone twice could they lower the purchase of the car and the payments, they refused too. I then sent a email asking the CEO about the price and payments of the car, I received a response from his team and I was denied the request. CarHop was very deceitful by telling me the Car was inspected, I even had one of the Staff Drive the car while I was in the car and I asked about a noise coming from the engine, the Manager even told me the car was good. I was told the sound was normal. The car could have Not been inspected from the beginning. Anything could of happened on the Highway in the car, the Axile was broken, both frontwheel-bearing broken. Im sad, I cant believe all this, they would put a person through, I have been very Patient and at the same time hurt over this. Its unbelievable! I Purchased the car on XX/XX/XXXX Drove the car a few days then in the shop 12 days drove the car 2 days then took back to the shop. I have been spending money, I really dont have on XXXX. I should not be catching XXXX at all. Yes, they have fixed the problems on the car, but whos to say whats next with the car, the Tires are bad and they refuse to replace the tires, the price $ XXXX the price should be {$1500.00} for this the car. Not to mention the car was given to me filthy dirty, in the inside. Not clean, yes I know its a used car. I also apologize if I have repeated myself. I also had a 1987 XXXX XXXX XXXX something miles. I traded in, CarHop gave me {$50.00}. Even-though I emailed the CEO, I was told he does not talk to customers at all, I wanted to ask him about the price on the Lemon that was Financed and sold to me. To lower the price and payments and also for a different type of car. Thank you

Complaint: In XXXX I had purchased a used vehicle from a place called XXXX in XXXX, wi. I called the loan company for XXXX, which is universal acceptance car. I kept with contact with the loan company, I was going through financial issues and so I called the loan advisor and had asked what I could do, The guy stated that if i voluntarily returned the vehical that it would not be put on my record and that my loan would disappear as paid. I took the car back in XXXX and gave it back, the lady working that day put it in as a voluntary return. A few weeks later XXXX had called me and told me that I would not be responsible for any more payments since they sold the vehicle. A month later the company went bankrupt and all accounts got closed. After they claimed bankruptcy I was then followed with a Claim of in which the XXXX was sold for. It was not my responsibility to pay for a vehicle for a price that it was sold for. Last year I had contacted XXXX XXXX to help me with this situation because it was all in accurate information put on my credit report, they then sold my account to a creditor in hope to claim money that I did not own for a vehicle they sold to someone else.

Within the first week, the air conditioning went out in the vehicle and was going to cost me XXXX dollars to fix. A week after that I had a tire blow on the highway. Apparently there were wires showing that I did not notice when I purchased vehicle. By this time Im frustrated. Then when I decided to return the car something happened in the engine so I wasn't even able to return it. I called to have them come and get it. I was not aware that there is something called the " lemon '' law. I just knew I got a bad deal. I didn't realize this was on my credit score until I went to purchase my first home.
