Complaint: I got a vehicle from XXXX. My ex wife gained possession of the vehicle through it being a marital asset ( at the time ). About a month ago, I was awarded the vehicle which is solely in my name. I contacted South Dakota to find out that she had been arrested and the vehicle has been towed. The towing company sent the Lein holder a certified letter letting them know the car needed to be picked up or the towing company ( aggressive towing ) would take ownership of the title. The leinholder was well aware that I had no possession nor exact wareabouts of the vehicle. The leinholder choose to sign for the letter but never gained possession of the vehicle nor did they contact me to do so. Now XXXX XXXX owns the vehicle as they are the current holder of the title. XXXX is unwilling to settle this debt with me even though they allied the release of the lein ( title ). They continue to contact me several times a day and threaten me by saying they are going to turn the vehicle off ( its not in my possession ), they have already been paid monthly payments after they no longer owned the vehicle and are tying to get me to continue to pay for the vehicle. I have given them all information regarding the status of the vehicle yet they are still harassing me. I have also told them that I am in the process of working on a case with an attorney. I would like them to please stop harassing me. They choose not to call me and let me know my vehicle was about to be taken from me.

Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX, doing busines as " XXXX XXXX '' ( XXXX XXXX ), and its financing company, Universal Acceptance Corporation, ( UAC ). I did not have to put any money down, the payments were {$190.00} every two weeks. I automatically set up direct deposit payments from my checking account to begin XX/XX/XXXX. They pulled the first payment plus a {$3.00} fee through XXXX XXXX XXXX payment. A few days later, I received a text and email stating to call about my payment. My car was disabled until I called in and made another payment. This has happened 3x as they said the payment came back NSF ( Credit card and checking account ). I called the corporate office in XXXX, MN and spoke with a Customer Service Representative who did n't know anything and said that I needed to speak with my finance manager " XXXX '' in XXXX, WA. I was transferred back and forth and made another payment until I received my bank statement. I emailed my statement over to " XXXX '' at the XXXX, WA location and she said that she would give information to her " Finance Manger ''. Needless to say, my vehicle was disabled again when I had to take a client to XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX again and XXXX enabled the vehicle so I could get client to hospital but she XXXX before we could get her there. I am so done with this SCAM Company. I received a call today ; ( XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX from " XXXX '', the Finance Manager and he asked me if I could pay the {$390.00} that is owing on truck, I said " no '' and I 've already paid you people and sent over documentation. He went on to say that they have not received a single payment and if I could bring truck back to them if he enabled it. File No ; XXXX Consent Order, this company needs to be shut down. He ( XXXX ) told me that I would need to sign a " release of the loan '' when I bought the vehicle back. Carhop has made deceptive representations to consumers and will do anything to get money from the customers repetitively. They are very unprofessional, rude, uncaring and all that matters is the almighty dollar. One would think that they would have learned their lessons from the Consent order but they continue to practice this way. The vehicle was my only means of transportation and cost me my job and all they care about is $ $ $ $ $ $ and not their customers. I have proof that these payments were taken out of my account and I even emailed everything over to " XXXX ''. XXXX XXXX also provides false information to the three credit bureaus and hinders customers from obtaining credit for home loans, car loans, any type of loan and they have been ordered to pay over XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Why are they still in business and allowed to continue to do this to consumers/customers? Many lives have been affected by their " GREED '' and unlawful practices, it needs to stop now.

Complaint: I have made several attempts to contact the company regarding the debt and several inaccuracies. Now, my credit report shows the debt was sold to another lender and the information about the new lender is not available. I have tried to get proof such debt exists, but am unable to communicate with Universal Acceptance about the account in question, incorrect information on my credit report and etc. Furthermore, Universal Acceptance was asked to send proof of original debt to me when I disputed the claim in XX/XX/XXXX. Instead, the collection was hidden on my report and then they sold the account to a new lender and will not disclose the new lenders contact information. I feel as if I was also victimized as a client of Carhop since the purchase of my vehicle in XX/XX/XXXX. Carhop has been sued for jeopardizing Consumers Credit as noted on CFPB website, confirming they have used false information and disclosed inaccurate credit reporting on my credit history.

Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from Carhop in XXXX, WI in XX/XX/XXXX. About a week after purchase, the A/C stopped working and the transmission began to slip. I contacted Carhop to try to fix the issues and they said they would not fix the car at no cost, the repairs were more than I could afford. I received a letter from an attorney about a lawsuit he was filing against Carhop and advised me to voluntarily surrender the car. I turned the car in but decided not to be involved with the lawsuit due to family issues at the time. Carhop removed the account from my credit, then 6 months later sold the debt to Universal Acceptance.

This battle has gone on for years I have asked over a dozen times that this company validate this debt in return they refuse to do so by asking me to provide them with information to validate the debt. Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX SECTION 4- COMPLAINT Carhop Addition space On XX/XX/XXXX, I purchase a XXXX XXXX from Car Hop at XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX, Ca. XXXX, and I paid on that car twice a month on the XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX each month a sum of {$240.00} until XX/XX/XXXX when it was traded for XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from Sales Consultant XXXX XXXX from Carhop, he said that he was calling to update my account, when he notice that my car was due to be paid off. I said yes it is in ( 3 ) more car payments, so XXXX asked me if I wanted to upgrade in a newer used car and I could use my truck for a down payment or trade-in, so I said ok and drove there to the XXXX, Ca. office. I told XXXX that I was in a big SUV and I would have to have that because I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX, and I XXXX XXXX two people one age XXXX with XXXX in XXXX, and XXXX yr. old male with XXXX in XXXX he then said to me that he had something for me, just come down so once I got to the office I met with XXXX . Once I got there XXXX met me outside and he gave me keys in hand saying go test drive it, take it home, and see if this what you can use, and he also said not to worry about my car payments that he would work it out that when you get back. I test drove the XXXX straight to my family member car repair shop, the mechanic went to open the hood and asked me to release the latch, but I told him that it wasnt any latch just wires and they were hanging he said take this car back to Carhop and let them know this. I drove the car back to Carhop, and I met up with XXXX and told him what the mechanic told me, he said no problem just take it to our ( Carhop ) mechanic which he wrote the name on a piece of paper and gave it to me and he said that they will send the repairs over and we will get it fixed. I told XXXX to put the repairs in writing on my contract so he did, so I can use my warranty, since it still under Carhops warranty you get when you buy the car, and I only had 1 day thus far so it reads as follow : Warranty covers period of 18 months from date of contract or 18,000 miles beyond the mileage provided on page one of contract, whichever occurs first. Cover Parts include Engine all internally, see warranty page. Carhop dont honor their own contract We Owe : We acknowledge that as a condition of sale of the Vehicle, we will perform the following services within 20 days of the date of purchase. Wheel noise, shaking or vibrating and the interior filthy. See sale contract I have been fighting with Carhop since XX/XX/XXXX to fix my car, I will show you proof that Carhop have been SCAMMING me and the public ever since they open in XX/XX/XXXX. I will show proof that Carhop is still lying to me and the consumer about helping them improve their credit, and I am including the law sue against Carhop for doing this, and they are targeting vulnerable low-income customer for high-cost/high profit sales and loan, but to top everything off The Cars Dont Run. I have proof that Carhop is doing illegal business practices by selling me and the consumers a XXXX cars, and disclosing all damages are well as recalls from the buyers and selling salvage cars and putting the consumers lives in danger. My name is XXXX XXXX and I have been a loyal and patience customer of Carhop since XX/XX/XXXX and they have taken advantage of my kindness, and I want to be made whole, because I have been paying my car payment on time faithfully up until they set me up by telling me to Stop paying. I have been paying on this XXXX up until XX/XX/XXXX when I thought I was working with the branch managers at the XXXX office where I brought the car from, because they were speaking as if they were really going to help or fix my car. I have documented everything that had to do with Carhop because, after Carhop telling me to take my car to varies shops and dont fix any work on my car but would lie and put it in writing that they did, but I have proof the car not fixed. Carhop had XXXX XXXX XXXX lie about fixing my car, they said that they did {$1300.00} work on my car and {$75.00} for the warranty fee but when I had it towed to XXXX XXXX which was not part of Carhop shops and he did the diagnostic which revealed that the Engine light was still on and nothing was done. Have this also in writing. Carhop owners XXXX XXXX and partners dont care that the cars sometimes cause injuries to people by them having an accident due to car not being safe for the road and that dont still fix the cars. Carhop opt out fixing the cars before you even buy them, but it too late because they have already got you to sign on the dotted line, Carhop say that they inspected the cars before you buy them but that is not a true statement base on the testimony from an employee. Carhop are selling cars and putting Defective, Unsafe, Recalled, vehicles on the public highways, roadways and school roads and theses cars are Not Safe. It needs to be know that Carhop Dont let you pick out the car they do and all this is done After you sign on the dotted line and thats the only way they will let you see the car, IS THIS LEGAL, I have enclose other in other cities and state that Carhop does this too. I am going to enclose proof that Carhop, discriminate against customers with credit score over 500, because they cant mess up their credit, but prey on customers that are struggling with their credit, but need assistance. Carhop changes my information on the contract after I sign it by taking out moving figures around like they offer you a car for {$8000.00} and you sign it to be final but when they bring back the amount is changes and they say oh its a type o and it will get fix. Carhop sold me a car that needed an Engine and Tranny at the time of purchase and Never told me and more so when I find out thats I told Carhop and thought they was going to fix but No, I get the run around by telling me to take my car to this and that shop and know they not going to fix. I want Carhop to be held accountable for selling me a car that I have not drove since XX/XX/XXXX, Carhop have been playing games and Now it XX/XX/XXXX I get a letter from Carhop saying that they intent to sale my car. Now I talk to XXXX yesterday and she told me to bring my car over the office so they can see what work needed to be done. Now I am confused because I am here at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX who just told me that XXXX decline to fix me car, if you read my story of what I have been going through and what I want from Carhop. So on XX/XX/XXXX I traded in my XXXX and filled out the papers for the XXXX and I told XXXX that I took it to get checked out by a mechanic and it needed repairs, he responded back that he would take care just take to their mechanic and they will fix it. Little did I know at the time I would be still at the same situation with the car now here XX/XX/XXXX, I have not driven my car this year but I have been paying all my car payment up until one of the XXXX, Ca. XXXX Branch manager XXXX told me in my face with XXXX and XXXX aboard, on XX/XX/XXXX while visiting the car lot not to make any more payment because they were going to get me out of the car, but never happen Now the car is tow back to Carhop, after a month sitting at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me if I left it there after today XX/XX/XXXX he would charge me {$48.00} dollar storage, I told him I thought that Carhop pick up or paid for the car to be fixed he said the Carhop Decline to pay any labor but would pay the diagnostic fee of {$68.00} which is what Carhop did. I have receive varies calls from Carhop during this time for car payment even after I was told not to pay, but no calls about my car repairs. Now I spoke with my branch manager back in XX/XX/XXXX, I walked into the office and spoke with XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and both times in person and each time she indicates she is working on getting me out of the XXXX, and into another car. XX/XX/XXXX I return back to Carhop office and spoke with XXXX and she is short with her words and saying that she is still working on my case, and she points to some papers on her desk. I asked her how much long is it going to be and she said that the person that makes those decisions is in a all-day meeting and it out of state, I said ok and left to wait for her Call. On XX/XX/XXXX Call Carhop the XXXX office number which is XXXX That never happen because here XX/XX/XXXX, stating that she is confused about putting me into another car, and I am 45 days late on my car payment. I am in shock because its like a set-up, XXXX and XXXX tells me not to make any more car payments because they are going to get me out of the car since its not fix able. XX/XX/XXXX on this day I kept calling Carhop and they either put me on hold until their phone hung up or they would say that they were going to transfer me and hang up, this went on for at least a week or so. XX/XX/XXXX I went up to Carhop office and was told that there were no supervisor on site and to come back tomorrow, I thought that was weird, but I left after waiting for an hour. XX/XX/XXXX Called the XXXX number and spoke with XXXX XXXX I made here spell her name out to me, but she said I was 36 days late on my payment, I tried to explain that the Branch managers at the XXXX Ca. office XXXX and XXXX told me to stop paying until they put me into a running car. She said that she had no knowledge of that and would have to I check the notes and if I would hold, I did and when she came back she informed me that I needed to pay up before they fix my car. I was shock at that statement, since they told me not to pay, so it was a set up to put me into REPO. XX/XX/XXXX received call from XXXX she was going on about how confused she is and that she didnt remember everything that was said, she kept denying that was said I told her that I needed to go that she was sending my already XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and I wouldnt talk to her. I told her that she was upsetting me with her lying and saying now I am late on my car payments, so I said by and hung up. XX/XX/XXXX tried calling all the numbers Carhop has and had to repeat myself at least 3 times to three different and they still hung up on me and it took 20 minutes. XX/XX/XXXX I called all day but only get far as my info then wait then hang up, I see why now after I told Carhop that I had No intention on paying one dime on fixing my car because that is what I been trying to get you to do since I brought the car on XX/XX/XXXX, now all the hang ups call with no messages and when I answer they hang up. Then on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX t I start getting harassing calls from Carhop .consumers cars that are salvages or flood damage and they just clear all code. Now the car is tow back to Carhop, after a month sitting at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me if I left it there after today XX/XX/XXXX he would charge me {$48.00} dollar storage, I told him I thought that Carhop is supposed to pick up the car and he said No that I am to get my car. He also said that said the Carhop Decline to pay any labor but would pay only the diagnostic fee of {$68.00} which is what Carhop did, I owner of XXXX XXXX XXXX explained to me that my car is costing him money and he want it out of his shop, I repeated that Carhop is supposed to pick it up. Long story short I bargain with the owner and told him if he helped me I would help him and have my car towed back to Carhop, now I didnt tell the owner that I just had spoken with XXXX at Carhop and she told me to send my car back and she would see that I got another car. While I was still in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I called my insurance and explained that I wanted my car towed back to the dealer across the street, XXXX XXXX called me back with the ETA time I gave it to the owner and left the shop XX/XX/XXXX the mailman came up to me with a certified letter from Carhop, it was a Notice of intention to dispose of motor vehicle. I went to the XXXX, XXXX office to speak with a Manager that is over XXXX at Carhop and asked what was going on about this letter I just receive in mail. The only manager in the officer per XXXX was her and I would have to wait a minute and she would be right with me, I was fine with that since XXXX was the first manager I had to deal before XXXX. So I explained it all over again to XXXX what I had spoken with XXXX and said that she told me just two days ago to have my car tow here to be fixed, and they were putting me in another car. She said to give her a minute to go see what notes was put in the system since XXXX is off today, then she comes back seconds later to tell me I was 49 days late and that why my car is in Repo stage. Carhop preplan this and I am going to show proof that this is what Carhop do to All customer who buy a car from them, It common practice that they do this in all Carhop business and I have and enclosed proof. I take a deep breath and once again try and explain that I was told my management to stop paying due to them putting me in another car, but I say to XXXX that I have been waiting on Carhop to fix my car and I have been paying my car payments on time up until the Branch manager told me different. XXXX continual to tell me that I was 49 days late and not even allowing me to get a word in, so I tell her that I know that this document that they mailed to me is not a release of me and the car, but it is a Voluntary Repo, and I wont sign the papers and I left the office. XX/XX/XXXX been getting threating calls from Carhop regarding my car, and as I told them I will not sign the papers and they can not make me, so they just keep calling me from different numbers. Carhop like if they keep calling and saying that I breach my contract, and say that its my fault that I got a car that dont run, I told the people that now were not giving me their names or number. Carhop called again and said that she was recording the conversation for training purposes I told her good, because I was recording it too, then she said that she now couldnt speak with me until I call on a unsecure line, I told her not to count on it, she replied back with then I cant talk and hang up. XX/XX/XXXX I am trying to get this document in the mail and off my laptop, but Carhop, keeps calling and hanging up and when I try to call back it say the number you call is not in service, this is there way of intimidation and retaliation, that why Carhop has to be Stop Selling junk cars for thousands of dollars to unsuspected person, stop Carhop from disclosing important information about the cars they Sells. I know Carhop wants to hurry up and get rid of my car but I went over to Carhop in XXXX, Ca XXXX office and took pictures of my car on Carhop property and it dated so if they sell it before I get help. Every document that I am submitting will proof that Carhop is Shady, Unethical, and in poor community is a poverty profiteering long shark and only after the poor to make the owner XXXX XXXX richer. I have enclosed documents to help get me out of this contract and get my money back from these crooks. I enclose all the people that have something to do with Carhop so it will be easy for the investor to find who is liable. If you read the repair fixing the problem diagnostic report Carhop tells them to clear the codes several time as their way of I have had time to research this company since I had so much time to figure out what to do, so I look on line and found out, that Carhop makes money on selling I have waited long enough for Carhop to do the right thing by me so I am now taking action into my own hands and I am contacting : The Attorney General Office, BBB, Local Media and BAR well as CFPB, to see if that will stop Carhop from lying to make a buck off the poor people and damage their credit too. This is what I XXXX XXXX want from Carhop and I want it in ten ( 10 ) days of receiving this notice or a call from Attorney General Office, BBB or Call XXXX XXXX, CFPB, CARS and Dept. of Consumers Affairs Bureau of Automotive Repair ( BAR ), I will also take time out and Picket his business with other customers that was done wrong. Carhop should be SHUT DOWN and Put Out Of Business and pay back all the people that they have Scammed over the years and that a lot of people across the State. Due to all of the complaints the consumers have put in that have went unanswered. This is what I want from Carhop within 10 days from the time they receive the Information. This is how Carhop got me to buy this junk : XXXX said to bring the car in tomorrow ( XX/XX/XXXX ), for their mechanic can do a full check out the car and fix the engine light and the ASB light stayed faulty on hood as well as the things on the list they put in the contract to be fixed. On XX/XX/XXXX picked up the car it ran fine no noises nor was the engine light on so I thought everything was fixed. On XX/XX/XXXX was driving my client to XXXX when she smelled fuses and started coughing, I had to borrow my daughters car to pick up my client that day and I told Carhop and once again told me to take it to XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I drove the car to XXXX, Ca Airport on the way back it started making noises and you can smell gas fuses I called Car Hop again and they told me to take it back to that same mechanic XXXX XXXX and tell him what happen. I called the XXXX XXXX to get appointment and to see how long it would take and if they had a loaner car he said no and he would need to keep the car a few days to check it out. It took me a few days to take the car in due to I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX and I needed to find someone to give me a ride back and watch my client until I get back. This shop is not certified nor do it have the equipment to test my car and I ask him for paper of what he did, he said get it from Car Hop. I went and took the car in on XX/XX/XXXX against my better judgement, and told him what I smelled fuses and engine light was on again and it what happen after a long drive, he said that he would need to keep the car for a few days and will call when car is ready. I also told him that when I picked up the car I want a paper telling me what was done to my car, he told me that I need to get it from Car Hop, I said why he cant give it to me he said that is how Car Hop wanted to do it I left not happy because Carhop acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. I drove the car home and within two day the engine light came on and the mechanic at XXXX XXXX said my car might need an oil change, and that it was my responsibly, I asked him why you didnt do it when he had my car in his shop he said its not under warranty. On XX/XX/XXXX I took it to XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Ca XXXX XXXX XXXX and they did an oil change and filter which cost me {$68.00} and they told me that my oil cap was glued on and they had to glue it back on but it will affect my oil pressure so go back to mechanic. I needed to take it back to Car Hop mechanic. I took it back to the mechanic on XX/XX/XXXX that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ca XXXX, who had original work on the car when I first got it fixed. He told me make appointment and he will check it out. He looks at it and tells me that he can not fix it and I need to order one or go to junk yard and get one because he dont have one and cant order one. I was shock with my mouth open wide so I left not knowing what to do but call Carhop. Now the car is still under warranty and Car Hop still giving me the run around so I call Car Hop XXXX number to speak with someone higher up to find out that there are none I had my son-in-law look at the car since the engine light was still on and it brought up sensor codes : XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, he informed he that these codes are serious and I need to make Carhop fix it since I am under warranty. On XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, every day from that point trying to get Carhop to honor the contract but all I would get was the run around or lied to or hung up on. On XX/XX/XXXX I started looking up Carhop complaints online about carhop and was shock to find out what I am going through is the standard practice. On XX/XX/XXXX called Carhop told them everything that was told to me by the mechanic and XXXX shop and asked the way they going to do, the Rep said let her put information in the system and someone will get back with you, but no one did. On XX/XX/XXXX I was driving and the engine light came on and it start smoking so I take it to side tree mechanic and he put it on the machine and sensor codes came up so I was told that those codes can be serious and I needed to take it back to Carhop and make them fix it. I called Car Hop and explained to them that I am still having problems with this car and it is still under warranty and I want it fixed and I dont want to go back to the same Mechanic XXXX and we went round over them not wanting to fix the car even those its under warranty. XXXX, gave me XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Ca. XXXX XXXX, I called them to make appointment, and they told me that they were not taking any more of Car Hop clients. I begged XXXX XXXX XXXX to take me and I told them all the problems I have been having to get it fixed. The female Rep agree to fix my car, I told her it would be towed here, she said she needed to speak with boss and Car Hop and would get back with me and that took weeks for Carhop to even listen let alone authorize it to be fixed. On XX/XX/XXXX I took the family out XXXX shopping at the mall and we were in there two or more hours, when we got out to the car and started it up it start making a lawn more sound and the engine light was on I drove the car to my apartment and that was the last time that car was drove. On XX/XX/XXXX called Carhop asked them what do you plan on doing about the car one again on hold and the hung up now if my car payment was not paid they would have spoken to me only about when I plan on paying. I continual to call Carhop but they were rude or had no information for you even those they say they are your Rep. All through XX/XX/XXXX I would call Carhop continual 3-4 times a day even if they hung up or kept me on hold for a period of time, I did not give up then they agreed to fix the engine. On XX/XX/XXXX rented a car from XXXX and have been until XX/XX/XXXX at my expense because I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX and I transport clients to and from appointments and XXXX and Carhop knew this but was not concern. On XX/XX/XXXX my insurance XXXX XXXX towed my car from my home to XXXX XXXX XXXX to sit their shop for weeks before Carhop responded. On XX/XX/XXXX Carhop authorize the repair for XXXX XXXX XXXX to figure out what is wrong with the car my XXXX, so I had my insurance XXXX XXXX tow the car to the shop. On XX/XX/XXXX walk it XXXX XXXX XXXX as him if he could perform a pre-purchase inspection on my car and I will have it towed here, he said when ready just call or just drop off when you are ready. On XX/XX/XXXX received a call from XXXX rep telling me that the problem with my car is it needs a new engine, and Car Hop will supply it I never received a call from Carhop at any time even now regarding my car. Car Hop is to send over the engine on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX and once they get it they will install it. I said to the Rep what if it dont work the female rep said if when I check it and find out it not worth fixing, I will TOTAL IT OUT. On XX/XX/XXXX Carhop send over a used engine to Cooks auto repair according to the Rep, I ask her why used not new she said the Carhop gets the used engine from the junk yard if the can find them, and in my research in the carhop I found the to be true about where the get their parts for cars at. I paid for a car fax on XX/XX/XXXX on the VIN # # XXXX, for {$99.00} to find out as much about this car. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX, saying that my car is fixed and I need to pick it up, and pay a warranty fee of {$75.00} I asked was my car fixed they reply back with we put the engine in. I asked if it was test driven they said they just do what Carhop says and that was to put the engine in. I told the Rep that is why I am taking it to be checked out to see if it is fixed, that when the male said well the engine light is still on. I said then its not fix, they reply we did what was told to do By Carhop, I had it tow to a XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX my insurance company picked up the car from XXXX and towed it to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX, Ca XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX did a pre-purchased inspection for {$110.00} he found codes appearing so he needed to labor check end up costing {$260.00} plus and found other problems that would require more money to check I told him no I just needed to that information but put it on the contract so Carhop can see what all wrong with the car. On XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with XXXX and he told me that the car wasnt worth fixing if I just brought it that if it under warranty take it back, so had insurance tow it home with the engine light still on, call Car Hop see what they are going to do with this new information once again hung up put on hold. Called Carhop onXX/XX/XXXX to spoke with my manger XXXX about my car engine light still on and that XXXX XXXX XXXX said my car was fix, when it wasnt and that they only did what Carhop told them to do and at that point XXXX is when she became rude and put me on hold which end up hanging up on me. I called back and XXXX transfer me to another manager name XXXX but this one is at the site I brought my car at. Once again waited no XXXX and phone hung up so nothing done on that day, so waited for them to call me which didnt happen. On XX/XX/XXXX went into the XXXX office and spoke with XXXX told her what I have been going through to get my car fixed and that it is still under warranty, he then XXXX came and she was no help either and they are both in Management they said go home and someone will contact you on what they going to do. UAC intends to disable the starter on my car, I reply go ahead it hasnt ran since before XX/XX/XXXX, I told that the car not fixed and I have been paying car payments but no car. On XX/XX/XXXX called Carhop and spoke to a manger name XXXX, I told her what happen when I went into the XXXX office so she called from her office and she was transfer then the call end up with a hang up, she said that they are busy that why the call ended that way. I left and went home and called Carhop and spoke with XXXX but he had no information to help and I just said thank you and hung up, no one ever called me back eitherXX/XX/XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX received a text message from Carhop saying I can skip a payment for the car not working. On XX/XX/XXXX spoke with Car Hop on what to do about my car XXXX said that she is going to have to put car in shop to see what is wrong and I can choose from their list, told her dont want XXXX XXXX XXXX, she gave me a list of 9 Authorized Service shops to pick and I picked XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to check my car out. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX the Branch manager also told me to stop my car payments until they find out what they going to do about the car. On XX/XX/XXXX I received text saying We may be able to help with repairs issues call UAC/Carhop Finance and I did went to the local office here in XXXX, Ca on XXXX XXXX. spoke with several ladies from XXXX, to XXXX, XXXX and no real help said that she was going to get me out of the XXXX and into another one but first have to get approve from Finance Company. On XX/XX/XXXX I had my insurance tow my car to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX. Ca XXXX XXXX, I didnt give this company the information I got from XXXX, because I wanted to see what if any he found out. On XX/XX/XXXX @ XXXX XXXX I received a voice message from XXXX XXXX XXXX am saying this is XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX auto calling about your car um the battery was dead when it was tow to our shop. We charge the battery and drove it 10 miles before it ran out of gas. He then went on to ask me what I wanted to do at this point. I said so you ran all the gas out and dont know what wrong with the car just saying it run fine even with engine light on. He asked me if I wanted him to put gas in the car and if he did it would cost me, but that the only way to see what wrong with the car, I told he to hold on and I need to call Carhop. He end up driving my car a total of 70 miles and didnt know what was wrong until I gave him the repair paper I got from XXXX XXXX XXXX and he was shock. On XX/XX/XXXX Went to XXXX Office and spoke with XXXX the Branch Manager and XXXX XXXX Branch Manager and they told me that they were going to get me out of the car since I showed her the paper from XXXX saying that is not worth fixing but she have to get with finance and ask me to wait. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX went into the XXXX office and spoke with Branch manage XXXX XXXX he said that she is waiting for a call from finance but they are in another state in an all-day meeting, she pointed down to some papers on her desk and said see your fourth in line. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX saying that he XXXX from Carhop came over and put gas in the car and they drove it another 20 miles and it runs fine he then said ok even with engine light on, No one cares that the engine light is on they just keep wiping it out and it will last another 70 or so miles before it comes back on. Then he say that he got the ok from Carhop to fix the car and it will be {$2800.00} and I stopped him and said No they are supposed to get me out of this car. I went back to the XXXX office XX/XX/XXXX, to see if XXXX had made any progress and find out no she says she is still waiting that is when I decided to call state Attorney General Office and put in a complaint. I have been very patient with Carhop but I feel I am being used, I brought a car inXX/XX/XXXX and only got little use and been paying on it since. I have been in a rental for 6 months so far and its costing me, and I pay car not twice a month XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX {$240.00} and car insurance {$100.00} registration due {$240.00}, car rental {$230.00} weekly but changes every 4 weeks and I have been renting since XX/XX/XXXX until Now, I needed a big car for two XXXX. Carhop has a Reputation for scamming people by selling cars from salvage yards, and XXXX defective cars, their inventory of cars they advertise on television are not the cars they have you see. The cars are junk, and they put unsuspected consumer into exorbitant price cars even if it dont have a motor or engine or run worth. I did. So the shop wants to do a fog test and other things to find the problem. Now when I first called XXXX the guy said sure we will pay for it. Well then two days later I get a call saying they are n't paying for anything. So I said but the guy told me you would. She says well he does n't work for us anymore and she hung up. XXXX. So I have until XX/XX/XXXX to get car inspected. So I drive with the light on. Now comes XX/XX/XXXX and it does n't pass emissions. They told me that there is s hole in the top of the gas tank. So there 's a law in Pennsylvania, that days if you pay XXXX to try to fix the problem and you ca n't then you can get an exemption sticker. Ok I did that and now it 's time again and that say you ca n't do it 2 years in a row. Complaint: Due to the great recession, my credit has been low since XXXX. I somewhat re-established my credit through Carhop after 2 attempts to payoff a vehicle finally happened in XXXX. A year later, it began to die. I was approved through XXXX for a new XXXX XXXX. Loss of job the next week put me behind. I caught up & almost instantly was forced to move due to a toxic relationship. The finance manager informed me I needed to surrender the car, I could n't afford it, & regardless how much towards the balance I paid it would be repossessed. It was a week later taken & I was stranded. I got a Lyft to Carhop & worked with XXXX, the lot manager at the XXXX branch. He was wonderful. Despite UAC 's 5-hour response time & refusal to finance anything but a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( which decreased my income by a big chunk as I was an XXXX & the XXXX failed to pass the XXXX & gt ; 10 years old requirement ), XXXX deserves high praise & a much better company for which to work. The XXXX I took for a rapid test drive as I was trying to make it to a work shift ( already 2 hours late by this time ). I noted the brakes seemed to have difficulty gripping & the hood latch was gone. XXXX promised to get the issues resolved. After signing, I noticed almost immediately the car 's brakes were completely shot as were the struts & especially rear shocks & thermostat. This car was dangerous to drive. I informed XXXX instantly the following morning & we got the car confirmed through XXXX XXXX of the issues I had cited. 4 days later, UAC denied the repairs as they did not fall under warranty responsibilities. However, the 7-day customer satisfaction guarantee helped XXXX get all but the front struts repaired. The process : over 2 weeks. During that time, I had to replace 3 bulbs & 4 fuses. The check engine light I had checked which alerted a " vapor leak '' aka it needed a new gas cap. I replaced the cap and weeks later, the light remains on. The real issue was payment & my finance manager. I had gotten a sizeable advance in order to pay on my XXXX, but it was taken the next morning. I therefore used that money to put down on the XXXX XXXX {$470.00} XXXX. This cut into my rent nearly 80 %. I spent the next several weeks trying to catch up. The XXXX payment for the XXXX was 2 weeks after purchase. A car wash where I had used my debit card had charged me 3 times ( $ XXXX ) which caused my UAC payment to bounce back. I was unaware of this as the 3 transactions nearly-equaled my bi-weekly payment for the XXXX. I was n't aware until I got the text from UAC stating my XXXX 's starter had been disabled. I had no clue this was part of the agreement I 'd signed. I knew there was a GPS chip, but I had no idea if I was a little late that Carhop would shut my car off. A large enough portion of my income relies on my vehicle & getting to my 2 other jobs requires I have a vehicle. On XX/XX/XXXX, the UAC payment was due to automatically take out my Ion payment. On Monday, I knew my XXXX payment was due to come out as well. Yet somehow, the XXXX payment processed a day early & UAC did not process their payment until afterwards. I called Carhop & XXXX informed me my finance manager was out on a family emergency. I spoke to UAC, offered the {$130.00} I had of the {$190.00} due, they would not accept a partial payment, I expressed my concerns about the car being shut off, they said it had " not gotten to that point yet '', the next morning I missed a call from I assume my finance manager, and instantly afterwards, I got the " cut off '' text. I had to cancel delivering the rest of the afternoon to ensure my car made it home. I had kept up on my end of " keeping communication open '' & still got shut off. It had been ONE BUSINESS DAY & I was shut out of driving my vehicle. This feels wrong, immoral, and is a ridiculous practice. 1 business day is n't enough.

Complaint: I financed an auto loan with UAC/CARHOP I filed a complaint with the BBB for inaccurate information being reported to the Credit bureaus. I was contacted by corporate saying it would report in 30-60 days. I was informed that upon the completion of the investigation due to filing XXXX disputes each time the information would reflect the update immediately. Each time the investigation showed no change. I paid the vehicle off XX/XX/XXXX. UAC is reporting that the account was closed as of XX/XX/XXXX and the last payment was made in XX/XX/XXXX. It is against the law to report inaccurate information. Payment history as well as paying a vehicle off affects you credit life tremendously, I reaffirmed this high interest loan in order to better my credit, and the inaccurate information affects my credit life a great deal. I have filed yet another dispute, and I have n't been provided with the correspondence between UAC/CARHOP. Only letters from the credit bureaus saying no change has been made following the disputes

Complaint: I have had multiple issues with Universal Acceptance Corporation ( UAC ) They call and text me the day the loan comes due, calling multiple times a day even though I have told them I can not talk on the phone while I 'm at work. They refuse to talk to me via email even though that is really the only way I can communicate during week days, which I 've told them multiple times. They have emailed me just to tell me they ca n't email me however. I told them I switched jobs and needed my due dates changed to match my new pay days. They refused to do so until I sent them a copy of two pay stubs from my new job. The issue with this is that I wo n't get my pay stubs until after the pay check is received. During this time, I will be accruing interest. Another time I told them I had to spend {$500.00} to get the car fixed so I would be late on the payment. They required me to send them a receipt of the work done. Not to reimburse me, but to prove I was n't lying. They would not extend help to me otherwise. Another time I was taken off of a payment plan that I had set up with them because I under paid by XXXX cents. I was told a flat dollar amount which I paid. The neglected to tell me of the XXXX cents. I feel as though they have been extremely abusive in the way they collect debt and that I 'm being pushed in a corner so I owe them more.

Complaint: I got a XXXX XXXX XXXX from car hop in XXXX. I thought I was getting a deal since my credit was excepted. The car ended up having major issues soon after and was dangerous to drive on the roads. I contacted car hop and expressed the concerns with the vehicle and they offered to have the car fixed through their " authorized mechanic. '' They said they had multiple issues with the car fixed but the car was no better when I got it back. I stayed persistent with them to get the problems fixed but they just gave me the run around and did n't do anything. My pregnant wife and I ended up getting in a wreck because of the cars instability. I fixed the damage to it. My wife and I went to a XXXX dealership and got a loan for a dependable vehicle. I returned the Explorer to the car hop dealer and gave them the keys. I was dealt a complete lemon and my credit is currently being haunted by this horrible ordeal.
