Complaint: Re : Seterus Serviing and modification Request. Seterus keeps asking for payment on a loan that was transferred to them for servicing. Representatives indicated that there was a modification in place for XXXX $ $ but has not produced any documents to confirm payment amount. When pressed I was told of a payment and received documentation by fax for another homeowner 's property in PA with a different payment amount. I filed a modification request over two months ago with all documentation requested provided and confirmed received. The the bank keeps calling to ask if I intend to keep the property. Documents have been submitted which they acknowledge receiving but no modification trial has been offered. To date I have received a payment statement but no modification documents verifying this. Thank you.

Complaint: Mortgage company known as Seterus ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CT XXXX ) # XXXX is no longer supplying monthly billing information stating balance, interest, or escrow. They provided " coupons '' to pay monthly and you are required to " opt-out '' to get the details and I have done so but they have not provided me with any bill for the month of XXXX or XXXX. I called to request information and the running totals they provided stopped as of XXXX XXXX, 2015. The online system has stopped showing me past invoices as of XXXX, 2015. I did get a computer printout ( very hard to decipher ) of my payments until XXXX but only after I called. At this point, I 'm paying the bill because I just know it 's due but I have no invoice, no updated amounts due or no idea how things might change due to taxes/escrow/etc.. This is unacceptable and clearly violates the Dodd Frank Act.

Complaint: Re : Loan # XXXXI am writing to inform you of the following problems I have had with Seterus over the past few months. Please note that you are not the only agency to whom I will be informing of these issues. Incident 1 : On XX/XX/XXXX I had a telephone conversation with a seterus regarding my account status and my inability to log on to the website. The reason for my call is because I kept receiving these strange letters regarding our mortgage account and wanted to get to the bottom of it. I also wanted to know why my XXXX 2015 payment had not been applied. Please note the XX/XX/XXXX payment had been received by Seterus on XXXX/XXXX/15. During that conversation I was informed that our XX/XX/XXXX payment was being held in suspense because it was paid short by {$96.00}. This was absolutely our error, as we did not change the amount on our automatic payment from our XXXX checking account before our payment was sent. In addition to the {$96.00} under payment, I was informed that I owed a late fee of {$110.00} on the account. Why did I have to call to find out our account had been short paid? Why did n't we received a letter stating this fact so we could have addressed it immediately??? That 's what most reputable debt collectors do. During XX/XX/XXXX conversation, in an attempt to get our account caught up, I authorized Seterus to take {$210.00} from my checking on XXXX/XXXX/15. I then provided the seterus representative with my checking account information. Please note that we normally pay our mortgage from our XXXX checking account and have done so for the past 10 years. This one time authorization was only for the {$210.00} from my XXXX XXXX checking account this ONE time only. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX, I received an email stating that my available balance was insufficient to cover one or more of my checks. Of course I immediately checked my account to see what they were referring to and I notice that seterus attempted to take out {$2900.00} from my XXXX XXXX account. I then called seterus on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute amount and I was told that I had to request that the recording be heard to determine whether or not authorized the amount of {$2900.00} to be taken from my account. I was also told there was a 'note '' on the account stating that I authorized to have the {$210.00} taken out, as well as my XX/XX/XXXX payment. I never authorized them to take out XXXX 's payment. On Saturday, XXXX XXXX, a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX was received in my mail box confirming that I authorized Seterus to deduct {$2900.00} from my XXXX XXXX checking account. If I authorized to have this amount or any amount taken from my XXXX XXXX checking account on XX/XX/XXXX, why am I just now receiving a letter on XX/XX/XXXX, 19 days after the conversation with your representative? Should n't this letter have been sent out immediately after the alleged amount was authorized? Had Seterus sent this letter in a timely manner, I would have been able to dispute the amount, correct? Is n't that purpose of the letter, to notify the customer of the amount before it 's taken? Why did it take so long to send me this letter? It find this very suspicious that this letter is dated one day before Seterus attempted to collect payment from my checking account and the same day I disputed the authorization. This is an obvious attempt to cover a mistake. I also find it very disturbing that the only way to get a resolution on any issues we are having with Seterus is by sending a letter to some random fax number. Does Seterus not have a dedicated telephone number, email address or fax number to an actual complaint department? How does the customer know that our complaint wo n't just end up on some supervisor 's desk who does nothing with it. In addition to this incident, there has many other errors on my account regarding to our impound account which they could not explain.

Complaint: Seterus did my yearly Escrow Analysis on my mortgage on XXXX/XXXX/15 and am entitled to a refund of {$1000.00}. According to the Statement I received that refund was to be sent to me within 30 days. I have contacted them 3 times about the status of my refund and they lie to me, giving a specific week that they never meet and giving excuses. This is my money and they have no right to hold on to it. There must be some kind of law that they are breaking and I feel that they should be punished.

Complaint: I began the modification process with Seterus in XXXX 2015. I received paperwork in XXXX 2015 stating I could begin the trial payment process in XXXX 2015. I made the first and second payments over the phone XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. When I tried to make the final trial payment in XXXX, a Seterus representative advised me that I had not paid the correct amount in XXXX, that I needed to pay more in XXXX to make up for the lower payment and I would also have to stay in the trial period one more month. I explained that I paid the same amount in XXXX and XXXX, she said no it was incorrect. I was out of town, working, so I paid it. I called in XXXX to, again, make the final payment and the representative told me my modification had been cancelled, I asked why, he checked the notes, said it was because I had made inconsistent payments, because of the XXXX payment. I explained what happened, he checked the notes, said the previous representative was incorrect, he corrected it and gave me credit for the overrage, said he would send my information to the modification department and the would send my modification pacakage. I received a modification pacakage on XXXX/XXXX/15, the principle payment amount was shown as {$900.00}, escrow amount was shown as {$380.00}. I called Seterus with questions about my package, and deferral of my principle amount, and requested to talk to the person handling my modification. I was told that I had to send my request to them in writing, so I faxed a request to them on XXXX. I received another modification package dated XXXX/XXXX/15 ( please see attached copies XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/15, that states my principal payment is {$910.00} plus the added escrow amount of {$420.00}, for a total of {$1300.00}. Which is higher than the original mortgage payment that I had before I asked for the modification. If I could not pay the original, I wo n't be able to pay this.

Complaint: My mother 's house is being foreclosed on by a company called Seterus. The problem is that they are filing the action on an old deed of trust and naming myself in the action. I am NOT on the 2007 ( current ) loan or deed. They are going to ruin my credit by naming me and I AM NOT A PARTY TO THIS FORECLOSURE AT ALL!! They have also been harassing me with several phone calls a day but leaving no messages. They are not responding to my attempts to rectify their error. I can not have my credit ruined by these bandits. They have a right to foreclose but not on an old deed with my name on it! Please help!!

Complaint: The husband had a mortgage with Seterus, and was in a trial modification when he passed away. His surviving spouse who is on the deed, but not the note applied for an assumption modification. She has submitted all necessary documents when Seterus advised that she needed Probate documents showing she was the rightful heir and in charge of the estate. There are no assets to the husband 's estate except the home - which the wife already owns. We have tried to advise Seterus of this, but they say they will not move forward with the assumption modification until Probate documents are received. Probate is an expensive process, and completely unnecessary in this instance.

Complaint: XXXX 1. SETERUS was not responsive to payoff requests, which resulted in them securing more time to collect interest payments - I believe they owe me interest that they collected past the closing date2. SETERUS is now not responding to my requests for a refund of {$1600.00}, as escrow funds they collected for city taxes are no longer my responsibility as I sold the home and they are now the responsibility of the new ownerI sold my home with a closing date of XXXX XXXX, 2015. Beginning in XXXX, the title company began contacting SETERUS requesting a loan payoff statement. After multiple faxes and phone calls, SETERUS kept claiming that not only did they never receive a payoff request, the title company was n't authorized to request the payoff, and it had to be done by me, the homeowner. I made multiple requests via phone and online, yet it took over a week to get a response and we finally received the payoff notice after the closing date. My loan was paid in full on XXXX XXXX, yet they have XXXX XXXX as the payoff date, which gives them 3 extra days of interest charges. The issue now is that I am having a difficult time getting the city property taxes they collected returned to me. The taxes are due XXXX XXXX and are now the responsibility of the new homeowner. SETERUS can not keep the money they collected, yet they will not give me a definite answer on sending it back to me, just that the refund is pending. I have made multiple phone calls, and SETERUS does not have a way to be contacted via email. I need help getting SETERUS to send me the refund check for taxes collected, yet no longer my responsibility.
