I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates has purchased an account from XXXX XXXX that the person has similar names ; however, is not me. When asked in what was the social security number for the person the worker researched and said they did not have a social security number on file for this account. I asked them how could that be for all my accounts I have my social security number attached to them. After that call the lady had the account removed from the credit report stating she did not believe it was me. A few years later i started getting harassing charges and the representative was trying to get me to write fraud on the account but I refused because I stated to them how do I know its fraud on me if my social is not on this. it was then taking off of my other credit report only to reappear on another credit report a few months ago. Please help this is so annoying. Al my credit cards are up to date and I have not missed a payment on none of these accounts. this bad report is messing up my score and it is not okay. I have worked hard on my credit so no account that doesn't belong to me should be on there.

Complaint: Today I spoke with XXXX XXXX who was really rude. I made a payment plan with portfolio recovery for a XXXX XXXX account. I also made a payment arrangement for XXXX account after being coerced into doing so even though that account was long closed. My money was taken out of my bank account for both accounts. I called and spoke with XXXX XXXX regarding the accounts and was told the payment plan I set up was no longer in place because I made a dispute with XXXX. I asked why and was told by XXXX this account will stay on my credit and if I dont pay it it will damaged my credit. I know my XXXX account was closed and yet portfolio kept it on my credit report. Im scared of what they would do next to damage my already damaged credit. I need your help

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I received an alert from my credit monitoring service of Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC attempting to collect on a debt that I do not owe. Account number XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I sent a certified letter requesting debt validation. The letter was received and signed for on XX/XX/XXXX by someone named XXXX XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX I emailed XXXXXXXX requesting debt validation. I received an account summary dated XX/XX/XXXX which states VALIDITY. Im not requesting validity my request is for DEBT VALIDATION. XX/XX/XXXX I emailed XXXX requesting debt validation again. Once again I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from the Disputes Department as an account summary. My request is for DEBT VALIDATION XX/XX/XXXX I emailed XXXX once again requesting debt validation and to advise them I would not accept an account summary as debt validation. Its a big difference in the two. XX/XX/XXXX I emailed all three credit bureaus advising them that Ive requested debt validation from Portfolio Recovery and as a consumer debt validation must be provided. XX/XX/XXXX I sent yet another certified letter which was received and signed by a XXXX XXXX. No response as of today. Ive used every resource provided by the credit bureaus and Portfolio Recovery to get this inaccurate information removed from my credit report.
