So her supervisor gets on the phone and tells me that they can fax but not receive. So I said well can I have your email than so I'm able to send documents to them. Everything is being recorded pull tapes. I can't stand getting the run around. Everyone 's lives are so busy. This company is so wrong I'm trying to get fair on grounds. They have all the cards. I can't send these documents out. I have never heard of the company until now.

Complaint: Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC ; here is the list of their unlawful collection practices. 1. They claim ownership of debts that other collection agencies also claimed to own. 2. When asked to verify ownership of said debt, they provided to me fake/false documents to establish ownership of said debts. 3. They have called me repeatedly after I have sent them certified mail requesting all communication be through mail only. 4. They " re-age '' claimed debts on my credit report. Dates of activities : XX/XX/2015 - current day. Actions by Portfolio Recovery Associates - hundreds of phone calls from XXXX to present day, falsified records, dates, and reporting on credit report. Actions by myself - variety of certified letter mailings to Portfolio Recovery Associates requesting VALID PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AND TITLE OF DEBT, disputes to credit reporting agencies, and many hours of research. Summary : junk debt buyers can not simply claim to own a debt without proper LEGAL proof. They also can not " investigate themselves '' when a question of validity comes in to play. This company has violated the FDCPA in multiple ways. *** Proof is not a letter the junk debt buyer creates themselves**

When I spoke to someone at first they said that they report on your credit but on all my credit reports they were never listed. When I called they said I was looking at my credit report wrong and that paying the debt with them will actually help my credit when really it has hurt it drastically.

Complaint: I have received multiple letters from Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC trying to collect a debt that was paid a long time ago. The statue of limitations expired ( they even state that on the correspondence to me ). I have asked for any proof of that I still owe this since my records show this was paid off. The company sent me a statement of account ( first page ) ( like what you get in the mail ) that was dated XX/XX/XXXX. I have sent 5 letters to this company stating that I don't owe the money and that a statement of account is not proof of a debt. Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I received 3 letters from 3 different people at their company telling me to send a request for substantiation of the debt. They have reported this debt to collection agencies which I am now having to work to get removed from my credit report. I'm tired of this company ignoring my correspondence and continuing to report that I owe money I don't. They are affecting my credit score. Furthermore, they know they can't sue me for this debt but they won't leave me alone.
