Complaint: This is a complaint against Pentagon Federal Credit Union my member # XXXX. A check number # XXXX in the amount {$980.00} was cashed XX/XX/XXXX. On review of my bank statement for taxes recently after recovering from my ill health I do not know who wrote the check and who cashed it.The line says Usda XXXX. This is the same line that is seen when the bank charges a fee Pentagon says cjheck was transmitted to them electronically and they cashed it they do not have a copy of it. Initially Pentagon said that it is not Pentagon 's policy to verify electronic transaction unless the consumer alerts them anything that comes through they just cash it. I question that if anyone having access to my account information can write checks electronically and they get cashed. Pentagon now allege they had two years to inquire and the time has passed so they can not inquire any further from the other institution. They allege it could be department of agriculture so I write to department of agriculture and inquire from them as they are not responsible for the check that was cashed since it came electronically. I have nothing to do with department of agriculture they provide no documentation of their inquiry either There is a check number to this transaction and so they should have had a copy i did not authorize an electronic transaction. I need them to give me my money as this was not an authorized transaction or Pentagon provide proof that the check was written by me. Two weeks ago I had spoken to the following XXXX XXXX XXXX ext XXXX, I spoke on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX ext XXXX and her assistant XXXX ext XXXX as XXXX has not answered my messages. XXXX and XXXX have tried to block information and were non cooperative. XXXX was cooperative first now she has disappeared and does not return my calls XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX

Complaint: Dear CFPB Staff : Tempted by an offer in XXXX 2016, I initiated a balance transfer with Pentagon Federal Credit Union, and wanted to transfer {$1300.00} from my XXXX XXXX credit card ( XXXX XXXX card ). Three months and hours of phone calls later, I still have a debit balance on my PFCU account for the {$1300.00} transfer, but never benefited from the transfer at all. We did determine through phone conference calls that PFCU put the wrong account number on the check they sent to XXXX, who claims to have sent the check back to some other account holder ( due to the wrong number on the check from PFCU ). XXXX then offered to stop payment on that check and mail another check to me, which I would then remit to PFCU so they could remove my debit. That was three weeks ago and I am tired of waiting.
[ Find below a recent email from a PenFed representative. ] XXXX XXXX XXXX PenFed CU customer XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX Dear XXXX XXXX, I apologize that this situation still has not been resolved for you. When we last spoke with XXXX, they said that they were going to issue a stop pay on the check they issued back to PenFed and then issue a new check payable to you. I am happy to assist you in making another call to XXXX 's in regards to the check that were supposed to be sending you to see if we are able to get a status on it. As you know, XXXX will not speak with me about this issue without you being on the phone and giving your consent for me to speak on your behalf. Please let me know if this is something you would like to arrange. If so, please give a day and time that will work for you for us to call them together. Once we receive the check I assure you it will be backdated to the date of issuance.
Again, I apologize for all of the inconvenience this matter is causing you. I will continue to do what I can to assist you in getting this matter resolved.

Complaint: I 'm experiencing financial hardship in my family. I have applied for financial hardship with my creditor and I was accepted to the economical hardship program by creditor. Creditor deferred payments for 6 months. After six months, my financial situation has not been changed and I contacted creditor by asking them to extend program due to extremely difficult situation. I do not have any type of income at the present time. I paid creditor partial payment as I was advised to prevent delinquency on my account and reporting derogatory information to consumer reporting agencies. Creditor was harassing me and their collection department demanded from me to make payments. I applied one more time for financial hardship program. The started reporting negative information to credit reporting agencies. They continue demanding from me payments to bring account to current and reporting to credit reporting agencies. I still waiting for their decision with acceptance into financial hardship program. I 'm asking creditor to delete negative information they reported from my credit report and allow me some time to reoccupy in order to resume my normal payments.

Complaint: I opened a credit card ( ending in XXXX ) with Penfed Credit Union on XX/XX/XXXX, I was using this card for over two years without any problem. All of sudden, they closed my card without a notice until my transaction got declined when I was trying to pay at a gas station with this card a few days ago. Then I logged onto my account, the card disappeared on the page. I also check my credit report, it shows that the card XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted their customer service to reopen the card, they did not give me any explanation and said they can not reopen a closed card, I can only go to apply a new card, then I submit an application, it got denied. I have never requested to close the card. And this is the SECOND time that they closed my account without notice!

Complaint: I contacted Pentagon Federal Credit Union on XX/XX/2016 to find out if they would refinance the balance of XXXX I owe on my auto loan to XXXX Bank in XXXX IL, which had fallen past due because of job loss and the recession and which they keep adding unwarranted fees on and incorrectly posting my payments so want to get away from, also asked if I would be able to borrow an additional XXXX for relocation expenses for a new job I was suppose to start with the IRS XXXX XXXX Mo. on Monday XX/XX/XXXX. Because I am twice widowed and have no financial help, my credit has been dinged during this recession and need some help with moving because my job offer is a XXXX drive one way from my home.
Of course the first guy I talked to strung me a lot to believe it would not be a problem, so that he could get an application and run a credit check on me to save his own job, which of course then pulls my score down even further and keeps me from getting any help from anyone, then he turns me down saying it is due to past due payments. Is that not want I told him I called to get a loan for and fix to begin with? The amount for the refinance was within his limits for my vehicle, but still turned me down for the payments being late on it, which I told him was why I called to get the loan. Why would he run a credit bureau on me and further damage my score? I then asked to talk to a loan XXXX because he had no answers for any of my questions. She was just as bad or worse, had no compassion, rude and disrespectful, when I asked her what other ideas she could give me in my situation, she said none, she did not know, said they do n't give credit counseling.
Both of them were so incompetent. I then decided, based on this experience to close my savings account with them, which only has XXXX dollars in it and if they could not help me with such a small issue as what I brought to them, do not need them in the future and account being open is not helping me in anyway, only them to help them meet their quotas. I then called back and spoke with XXXX and she was just as rude. I told her I wanted to shut the savings account down, which is the only account I have with them.
She said she sent a message to the department that closing them to do so but they may be gone for the day and she said she would mail me a check for my XXXX dollars. It was after XX/XX/XXXX, but not closing time. I asked her to give me a time frame of when it would be closed. She then put me on hold and said she would take care of it. She came back and said it had been closed. Then I get up this morning and there are XXXX different emails in my email account from them confirming my request to stop online delivery of statements, which I never did, and claiming they would have to charge me a dollar per statement going forward on all my account unless I have a checking with XXXX balance. Then another email about my credit card statement when I do n't and never have had a credit card with them.
They are simply trying to find some way to illegally hold onto my measly XXXX dollars. Note I never emailed or contacted them to request anything, so have no idea why they sent all of these emails. I only requested by phone yesterday XX/XX/XXXX that they close my savings account and send me the balance of what is in the account by mail. I have worked for several banks in the past and left them for this and other reasons, Pentagon Federal is just like them. I want to get away from banks and credit unions completely and would encourage all to do so. They are greedy and intentionally incompetent and the same kind of people work in all of them, the kind of people I do n't want anything to do with. Please make them shut my account down and send me my measly XXXX dollars!! Copies of emails attached.

His name is XXXX The pentagon Credit union has only report to the credit Bureau that only made XXXX payments. the reported the first XXXX payments only. So from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX they have not reported no information to any credit Bureau affecting and damaging my credit and father Credit payment history determines 35 % of a FICO Score. You have no just cause damage mine but also to my father XXXX. If this matter is not resolved and we are not considering the right interest rate for the mistake that the Penfed has made for inaccurate information. Complaint: Hello, I have Pentagon Federal Credit Union Mortgage and Mortgage loan # XXXX. I received a letter today that my PMI Cancellation request has been turned down since the principal balance of mortgage balance has not reached 80 % of the original value of the property securing the loan. I also spoke to Penfed Mortgage Department and they told that they used the old appraisal from XXXX and told to send another request.
This request is to use the home appraisal which was done by Penfed Home Equity department in XXXX XXXX, which came to {$500000.00}, so please use the latest appraisal and remove the PMI on my loan. Also attached is the appraisal copy and please use last XXXX digits of my SSN to open the attached appraisal done by Penfed Home Equity loan department.
