Complaint: I am a XXXX. I have paperwork to prove this. As a result of my fulltime status, i get XXXX and XXXX from the VA veterans affairs due to my military service. I get regular scheduled payments to my PenFed Credit Union Bank Account. This morning my XXXX did not show up. I called the bank to ask why and they said it was not entirely sent and they gave me a statement that lied to me. The Va claims they sent it out and the bank must have redirected it somewhere else.
I need assistance in this fraudulent situation that is ruining my life

Complaint: For the last 2.5 years, the creditor, Pentagon Federal Credit Union ( aka PenFed ), continues to incorrectly report an account ( XXXX ) on my XXXX credit bureau report, even after multiple disputes to have them correct this multiple times for the last 2.5 years. This closed account is a former automotive loan. The vehicle was repossessed in XX/XX/XXXX and went into charge-off status in XX/XX/XXXX. Further, XX/XX/XXXX was the date of first deliquency that preceded the XX/XX/XXXX collection activity, thus the negative aspect of the account is now over 7.5 years of age, and the account should be deleted from my XXXX credit bureau report. It has already been deleted from my XXXX and XXXX reports due to such. Per Section 605 ( c ) ( 1 ) of FCRA : " ( 1 ) In general. The 7-year period referred to in paragraphs ( 4 ) and ( 6 ) of subsection ( a ) shall begin, with respect to any delinquent account that is placed for collection ( internally or by referral to a third party, whichever is earlier ), charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action, upon the expiration of the 180-day period beginning on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which immediately preceded the collection activity, charge to profit and loss, or similar action. '' However, PenFed continues to report the account as paid as agreed and in good standing, and does not list any negative information, effectively re-aging the account. While some would find my situation ideal, the issue that I continue dealing with is many creditors see the account and assume I have outstanding debt. It drastically affects my debt to income ratio by being seen as outstanding debt, and I often get turned down for credit. No matter how many times I have attempted to contact PenFed conceding this, they never correct the erroneous data they are reporting, even when they agree with me that it is reporting incorrectly. This is a seriously violation of federal law. I have included PenFed account statements showing the date of first delinquency proceeding the charge-off, as well as statements showing the date of charge-off.

Complaint: I was discriminated against by representatives of Penfed Credit Union, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX who established discriminatory requirements for me to obtain a preapproval letter for a VA loan. I was flagged for discriminatory reasons by XXXX XXXX who prescreened loan applicants by phone and assigned XXXX XXXX, Mortgage Loan Originator. XXXX XXXX violated anti-discrimination laws by creating a requirement for the issuance pre-approval letter that was not consistent with VA/XXXX guidelines or PenFed practice. I provided financial documents that supported my VA eligibility and established income that fully met requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs regarding VA loan eligibility, documents necessary to establish employment stability ( XXXX and paystubs ), and processing requirements.I only requested a loan pre-approval which is always conditional, and not a loan commitment from PenFed. The action of these PenFed representatives was designed to deny me equal non-discriminatory access to a government loan program, and resulted in harm to me due to a lost purchase opportunity of a home and a lower mortgage rate which was available at the time of this discriminatory acts.

Complaint: I have requested the Consumer Financial Protection Bureaus assistance in investigating direct deposit reversals from my account to determine if they were Unauthorized Electronic Fund Transfers.
In monthly bank statements provided to me by the bank I identified more than $ 10K in direct deposit reversals.
When I looked up the guidelines for when direct deposit reversals are permitted I found the Federal Reserve Regulation E Supplement I to Part 205 -- Official Staff Interpretations : 5. Reversal of direct deposits. The reversal of a direct deposit made in error is not an unauthorized EFT when it involves : i. A credit made to the wrong consumer 's account ; ii. A duplicate credit made to a consumer 's account ; or iii. A credit in the wrong amount ( for example, when the amount credited to the consumer 's account differs from the amount in the transmittal instructions ).
The originator never made any of these claims when asked about the reversals. See the attached documents.
Because these were unauthorized withdrawals, I would like the bank to return the withdrawn funds to my account and prevent the originator from performing any further withdrawals from my accounts.

Complaint: I was recently approved for a credit card with Pentagon Federal Credit Union. In order to take advantage of the 2 % the card offers members are required to either be in the military service or open a checking account. I was informed by one of their agents that since it has been less than 90 days since they reviewed my credit they would not need to obtain a new report in order to open the checking account. I applied on XX/XX/2017 and they pulled a credit bureau.

Complaint: Upon reviewing my account online with Penfed, I noticed that they had closed my XXXX credit cards. I immediately pulled my XXXX credit report and noticed that none of my credit accounts appeared on my XXXX credit report anymore- including Penfed & XXXX XXXX . I contacted XXXX and filed a complaint with the CFPB against XXXX.
XXXX said that my credit file had been mixed with someone else and there was a ton of bad accounts listed that belonged to another person with the same name. XXXX has stated that they have now corrected my credit report. I sent Penfed a letter stating that my XXXX credit report had been mixed with someone else and to please reconsider their decision to close my credit cards. I have been a very good customer to Penfed. I am very disappointed that Penfed never mailed me anything stating that they had closed my credit cards and had to find out from visiting my online account. I am even more disappointed that Penfed completely ignored my letter requesting reconsideration. This very unfortunate situation can happen to anyone. I can not control how the credit reporting agencies handle or mishandle my credit file. XXXX has assured me that everything has been corrected. After this fiasco with Penfed, I contacted XXXX XXXX and explained the situation with XXXX mixing my credit file with another person. I have a credit card with XXXX credit limit with XXXX XXXX and did n't want to go through the same situation with them.
XXXX XXXX was so great and they are standing beside me. I thought Penfed would do the same but I can not even get them to respond to my letter. I truly enjoyed my relationship with Penfed and was proud to be a member of Penfed.
I have family members and friends that have been with Penfed for years and they are shocked that Penfed is not responsive to me. According to them, this is not typical of Penfed. So I am left confused as to why I am having such a negative experience. I have handled my Penfed accounts responsibly and I truly value my relationship with Penfed.

Complaint: When I pay more than the minimum payment, the card company is applying my payments to the XXXX interest balance first then to the higher interest balances only after the XXXX interest balances are paid off. I thought this was against the law. I noticed my higher interest balances were not changing in spite of me paying more than the minimum payments, so last week I finally had someone at the CC company tell me this is what they were doing.

Complaint: I have an account with Penfed and they recently cancelled my credit cards without reason and without warning. The excuse customer service gave me is that they " could n't verify my income ''. I have submitted my XXXX and paystubs TWICE and they did n't say anything was wrong with them. For them to close my accounts AFTER giving me the cards is beyond unprofessional. If I was n't credit worthy to them, they should not have given me the cards in the first place. Even worse, they closed them just before the statement is sent to the credit bureaus so now it shows me as having a credit limit of {$0.00} with a balance of $ XXXX+ which has SIGNIFICANTLY lowered my credit score. This whole situation is beyond unfair.
