Complaint: I reviewed my credit report and noticed a {$41000.00} charge of from Pentagon Federal Credit Union. I immediately disputed this account with each Credit Bureaus and Pentagon. Each Credit Bureau responded with the account being verified as accurate, but the actual creditor NEVER responded to my validation request. I am familiar with Pentagon due to being approved for a Car Loan through Dealership XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX. They advised me the loan would be furnished by Pentagon Credit Union and that the documents would come in the mail for me to sign and return. The documents came, I signed the loan documents and a check that was made out to both me and the Car Dealership. I signed the check as well, and mailed both check and documents back to Pentagon Federal Credit Union. I spoke to someone at the Dealership in which name I did not document ( due to I NEVER thought I would be experiencing this issue ) and they advised me that the check was received by the Dealership, and my car would be delivered within 72 hours after maintanence and detailing. Long story short, I NEVER received a car, No car was EVER delivered to me, and I never took possession of ANY car!! I was in the process of refinancing my home so I ran my credit report, and to my surprise there was a {$41000.00} Collection/Chargeoff reporting on my credit report. I Never received any kind of payment notification, past due notice, or any notification of this account even opened. I live in the same address for over 10 years so there was no way Pentagon was unable to reach me at the same address they sent the documents for signature. They are also reporting a payment on that I made in XX/XX/2018 which is definitely Inaccurate because I NEVER MADE A PAYMENT TO THIS ACCOUNT!
Back to the Credit Bureaus, how are they verifying this account as accurate? Did they even investigate? I sent a second letter to each bureau advising them that the collector did not respond to my validation request, and demanded the removal of this account from my credit report. I attached a copy of the certified receipt as proof that the request was sent to the Pentagon, XXXX , and XXXX XXXX XXXX. They again, advised that the account was verified as accurate although Pentagon responded with they dont own the account but it is still reporting on my credit report ( I sent proof of this as well ) XXXX XXXX XXXX NEVER RESPONDED TO MY VALIDATION REQUEST. Per the FCRA that is grounds for removal automatically ( Proof was submitted of this to the bureaus as well )

Complaint: Pentagon Federal Credit ( Pen Fed ) mistakenly and carelessly wire transferred my money to a wrong account. I instructed Pen Fed to transfer {$650.00} to my sister, XXXX 's account via ACH XXXX XXXX in New York on XX/XX/XXXX. The following events took place : - XX/XX/XXXX I called Pen Fed and asked the status of that wire transfer, I was told to wait after XXXX XXXX because everyone have gone for the holidays.
- XX/XX/XXXX I sent an inquiry to Pen Fed asking about my money, but no one bothered to reply my message.
- XX/XX/XXXX I sent another message.
- XX/XX/XXXX Received an email from Pen Fed stated that {$650.00} was transferred to XXXX, account ending with XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) by mistake. When I contacted XXXX and she checked her account, but there was no {$650.00} transfer into her account at all.
- Later on that day another email from Pen Fed arrived apologizing for the miscommunication of recipient 's name. It also stated that the wire for {$650.00} was sent to XXXX to an account ending with XXXX with routing number of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.
( My sister, XXXX had never opened an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX. She is a XXXX citizen who spent a year in Florida as an exchange students back in XXXX. The only bank account she opened while living in the States was with XXXX XXXX. She discarded her saving book and everything about XXXX XXXX shortly after she returned back to XXXX because she has no plan of visiting the U.S.A. any time soon.
- XX/XX/XXXX Pen Fed representative stated that they listened to the recorded conversation of my XX/XX/XXXX wire transfer instruction and that I told the representative to use the routing number, bank account number and recipient 's name under the remarks section ( when I transferred money in XXXX I have asked the representative to save those information for future use ). Yes, I said that, however, I also went over those routing number and account number with the representative, she even said XXXX XXXX name after she input the routing number on her computer.
- XX/XX/XXXX I sent a message to Pen Fed asking about my money.
- XX/XX/XXXX Pen Fed email stated that my sister needs to contact XXXX XXXX XXXX to have them return the fund, Pen Fed also provided me with XXXX XXXX XXXX routing number, the account number Pen Fed sent the money to at XXXX XXXX XXXX.
- XX/XX/XXXX, My sister sent an email to XXXX XXXX XXXX explaining what happened and asked XXXX XXXX XXXX to return the fund back to Pen Fed. As of today, XX/XX/XXXX, we still have not heard from XXXX XXXX XXXX.
- XX/XX/XXXX I sent a complaint letter to Pen Fed Board Chairman. No reponse from anyone yet.
- XX/XX/XXXX my sister called XXXX XXXX XXXX, explained what happened and gave them the account number Pen Fed provided us that was supossedly the {$650.00} has been transferred to. The representative can not find such account nor any such transfer and recommended we try to reach the branch my sister had an account with. ( How are we supposed to do that, once again my sister never opened an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX? ) - XX/XX/XXXX another complaint letter was sent to Board Chairman. Still waiting for a reply.
- XX/XX/XXXX my call to Pen Fed led to no where. They are saying they transferred the fund based on the information I gave them. First of all I didn't even know my sister ever had an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX, so how could I provide Pen Fed with such account number and the routing number.
- Pen Fed recorded my wire transfer instruction on XX/XX/XXXX and in there I instructed the representative to transfer the money to XXXX XXXX in New York and to use the same recipient 's name and account number same as the one I had transferred in XXXX and XXXX. Those two transfers went to my sister 's account as I instructed.
- Last year similar mistakes were made by Pen Fed dealing with my transfers and one of them caused Pen Fed {$65.00} for returning fee imposed by XXXX XXXX when Pen Fed first put my name as both sender and receiver, and when they try to correct, they spelled both first and last of recipient 's name wrong, therefore, bank can not release the fund and has to be returned back to Pen Fed.

Account status incorrect
Complaint: This account pertains to a line of credit opened with Pentagon Credit Union in XXXX of 2017. I maintained positive payment history and paid towards this line of credit on time every month up until filing for a Chapter XXXX case on XX/XX/2017. The filing of the Chapter XXXX placed this account in my case which did not allow me to pay outside of the plan. In review of my credit report I found that Pentagon Credit Union reported this account in a negative reporting status under failing to make a payment. This is inaccurate reporting as I did not fail to make a payment but was in an active Chapter XXXX case with the United States Bankruptcy. Per FCRA the date of delinquency is not accurate as this balance was included in my Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy case. The status of this account has been reporting delinquent when in fact this account should have been reporting paid as agreed every month due to the Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy laws. Under the FCRA, both the credit reporting company and the information provider that provides information about my credit are responsible for correcting inaccurate incomplete information on my report.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: Hello, I called My bank Pentagon Federal credit union at the end of XXXX asking if I wanted to pay the cash advance from the balance transfer I had how can I do that. The member service rep told me. # 1 Stop making purchases on the card. So I cut the card up. # 2. Any additional money paid to the credit card would get applied first to the cash advance and then to the purchases. # 3 the agent mentioned I should transfer the cash advance balance to a 0 % interest card to get that paid off if it was fee-sable. I said great. I ended up opening another card with another company to transfer the balance of the cash advance.
The company I opened the transfer with sent pentago federal a check for {$4000.00} I looked at my statement today and i noticed that I'm still showing the purchases and I'm still showing the cash advance. Both have the same interest rate. I told them they should of got rid of the cash advance and only had the purchases.
Purchases 13.99 % {$2500.00} {$29.00} {$2500.00} Cash Advances 13.99 % {$2500.00} {$30.00} {$2600.00} They Specified per Government regulation that they had to do it this way. So I would like to know if this is indeed accurate or if they could of applied it all to the Cash Advancement and any remaining to the purchases.
Here was there response to me. I'm not satisfied since I did what there rep told me to do to try to clean this up.
Upon speaking directly with our credit card department, they stated the following : When payments are made over the minimum, the remainder will be applied to the balance with the highest interest baring balance. If 2 balances are at the same APR, we split the payment between the 2. There are numerous outstanding purchases on this card. Purchases and Cash Advances ( or expired balance transfers ) are at the same rate, therefore the system split the payment between the 2.
Unfortunately, the Member Service Representative you spoke to may have misunderstood the situation and provided incorrect information.
Please let me know

Complaint: We applied for 2 equity loans. The whole thing took so long we had started looking elsewhere to do them. Our goal was to have all our financial accounts under one bank/lender to make things easier.
Well the easier part did not happen. We had 1 loan at XXXX XXXX that we were moving to Penn Fed FCU as well as converting our equity line of credit balance at Penn Fed to a fixed equity loan leaving the line of credit open with a reduced credit line. Both of these loans had credit life and XXXX on them already.
From the beginning we advised that we needed the credit XXXX and Life on our loans. We were assured that was not a problem XXXX XXXX Senior Equity Loan Processor we could have individual or joint coverage we opted for joint. We were even quoted rates however since it is an equity loan they can not add on the insurance up front it would be added on as soon as the loans are active. We were even given quotes for the amount per month.
Once the loans were processed we were advised that joint life was not offered only main borrower could get. Contradicting what we were told in writing and offered before the loan closed. It was disappointing since the loan we had given up had that coverage. But at least one of us had coverage. Or so we thought. We were told that life and XXXX for The Main Borrower would be processed .. plan 2.
We never received any info for the coverage Life and XXXX for the loans and we questioned it. XXXX XXXX checked on it and referred it to her supervisor XXXX XXXX Manager of loan operations XX/XX/XXXX.We called a few times and e-mailed again on XX/XX/XXXX we received an e-mail from XXXX stating her supervisor XXXX XXXX is actively working on it for us.
Ms. XXXX assured us that she was having it taken care of for us to be patient but she would send a letter that if we chose to go to another lender that they would waive the closing fee credits if is before 24 month requirement. We believed she was working on it so we decided not to move the accounts. ( Really did not want to add more credit inquiries and looks bad switching accounts so soon. To be honest after how this turned out how would we know if they would honor that???
I spoke with Ms. XXXX only a few times ( but I called many times ) each time she stated she was having the insurance coverage added. She was working with IT and since effects only 2 accounts will take a while they have to fix/work on bigger issues 1st. Silly me I believed her and was trying to give her time to make good.
XX/XX/XXXX I called Ms. XXXX several times again and advised her I had been injured and needed that insurance It was then that she told me that they do not offer that insurance on Equity loans. She agreed that she should have just told me that in the beginning.
Went all the way to XXXX XXXX XXXX & Manager of Member experience XXXX XXXX they caould not add/fix.
Since I was injured I would not qualify to get a loan anywhere especially with the XXXX coverage since I was XXXX. I was stuck.
I was on XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX thru the end of XX/XX/XXXX.
I am entitled to the XXXX insurance that was offered and accepted.
I should get $ back I made in payment 's that should have been made by XXXX insurance.

Complaint: XXXX is offering personal loans as described below : " XXXX PERSONAL LOANS NO ORIGINATION FEES. NEW RATES AS LOW AS 6.49 % * '' I applied for this loan, however, was offered 9.99 % rate. When I called and inquired as to why I wasn't offered the advertised rate ( my credit score typically ranges from ~780-820 ), I was told that was because I'd need an 830 credit score to qualify for that rate. When I complained that I felt what they were doing was false advertising, they argued that credit scores go up to 950. This is very much a lie. Being in the XXXX XXXX, I quickly queried a database of 150,000 mortgage applicants, of which only 4 had over an 830 credit score, with the highest credit score being an 840. Based on my data, less than .0026 % of credit worthy applicants have an 830 credit score or higher. I personally feel that advertised rates where less than 5 % of the population would qualify for, borderlines on false advertising, however, what PenFed is doing is significantly worse.
In my opinion, XXXX is advertising a rate that virtually no one qualifies for, which is very much false advertising.

Complaint: My PenFed Member Number is XXXX. After speaking with the membership services department at Penfed, and as per the advise received, on XX/XX/2019 I requested Penfed to add me as a joint borrower to three different PENFED accounts. My email request dated XX/XX/2019 and its attachments ( three pages ) are again attached herewith. But these accounts are not yet being reported to all Credit Reporting Agencies ( CRAs ).

Problem making or receiving payments
Complaint: PenFed ( Pentagon Federal ) Credit Union keeps transferring money back from my checking account to my savings account so that every single time I do a bill pay, the check that is supposed to go to the payee ends up BOUNCING!
They are not ONLY defrauding me, but had been engaging in systematically harassing me through these fraudulent transactions where they bounce checks that I issue from my checking account through bill pay ON PURPOSE.
Before I do any bill pay, I MAKE SURE that I have enough money from my checking account to cover the amount of check I am writing.
As soon as I have issued a bill pay check from my check account, PenFed EITHER closes my checking account OR transfers the money back from my checking account to my savings account WITHOUT MY CONSENT AND KNOWLEDGE!
This has happened TWICE already, and they are doing this to force me to close my accounts with them, not to mention contributing to my unnecessary stress and greatly affecting my state of mind.
Thus, PenFed is committing fraud on my behalf by intentionally and knowingly making it look like I am bouncing checks when I AM NOT, not to mention cruelly and consistently harassing me.
They are also prolonging transactions on purpose so that they can control how long I keep my accounts open instead of me doing that!
There was also a time that one of the member representatives told us ( family member and I ) over the phone that we would have to go back to Texas to deal with this account in a satisfactory manner.
No travel to where the account was opened, no satisfactory resolution was what this PenFed employee indicated.
That sounds like EXTORTION using interstate communication to me!

Report provided to employer without your written authorization
Complaint: The Pentagon Federal Credit Union obtained a copy of my credit repot without my consent.
When I called PENFED to find out what kind of assistance was being offered for federal employees your employee XXXX at XXXX XXXX told me that you were offering a furlough loan with 0 % APR and no credit check that is why I requested the Furlough Loan on the below email.
I never authorized PENFED to obtain a copy of my credit. The only reason I requested the loan was based on the information that XXXX provided. Otherwise I would have used XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I told XXXX that my direct deposit was going to XXXX not penfed and she told me that I would need to provide a copy of my XXXX.
Also XXXX told me that my wife would qualify for the loan even though she was not a member yet.
My wife submitted an application for membership and opened an account because of this.
