Complaint: The branch manager refused to answer my questions regarding harassing phone calls when my account is on a direct draft each month. When I asked for the anime of the representative who called multiple times, the manager refused to provide me the name and hung up on me three times when I attempted called back to speak to him. When I went to the branch and advised him that I thought it was inappropriate for him to hang up on me, he advised em he did not hang up on me but was done speaking with me. I asked further question about my account and when I advised him I would contact the consumer Financial Protection Bureau, he said I was threatening him and said he would call the police if I did not leave.

Complaint: The interest rate is almost 30 % I will never pay anything towards the principal. My payments are monthly and they will always go to Interest. It 's suppose to be a place to help me get out of debt now I 'm in further debt because I ca n't pay this loan off because of the obsurd Interest rates. It 's not a company that wants to help it 's a company that just keeps offering to loan you more money every month to keep you in debt!

Complaint: I was never late in paying my SpringLeaf account. The account was autopay set up through Springleaf and that had been the mode of payment for years. I have paid it off in XXXX. Springleaf purchased my account off beneficial and continued to get payment through autopay. I do n't know how they can justify destroying my credit by stating that I was late on XXXX of XXXX for account number XXXX. My credit score has dropped at least XXXX points because of this false reporting to all XXXX credit bureaus! When I called springleaf they refused to take this erroneous mark off my credit. That card has been dormant for several years. Their behavior is not in good faith and I dispute the late report to the credit bureau. Please investigate and remove the late payment from XXXX XXXX off my credit report.

Complaint: On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I requested for a car loan for {$4000.00}. The lender issued me a Personal loan with 26.51 % interest ; but the contract document says it is a Secure loan with the car as collateral. The contract does not say Personal loan anywhere ; but the loan-writer verbally classified it as Personal loan to rationalize the high rate. In practice, I was given a Car loan with Personal loan rate. I requested the lender to modify my interest rate from 26.51 % to 16 % in XXXX XXXX. The lender refused. The lender added additional items ( disability insurance, life insurance, fees, and cash-back ) without clear explanations and wrote a loan of {$4800.00}.

Complaint: I took a high interest loan on a five year term. I paid the loan off in 35 months. the payoff was very little difference from the entire term of the loan. I received a letter 10 days after the loan payoff offering a refinance from the same company. the payoff on the letter was less than what I paid 10 days ago. the loan company told me to bring the letter up there. I did with no resolve. the person on the letter did not work there and it has me wondering if something very wrong is going on. I attempted contacting an attorney but did not find anyone is this field. I think this is predatory lending and should be stopped.

Complaint: I applied for a loan secured with my car on XXXX. I borrowed {$5000.00}. I asked if there was a penalty for early payoff & I was told no. I asked the man before signing ... if I cashed the loan check then immediately paid it back would I only owe the {$5000.00} & he said yes. Then my first statement cam in the mail & said I owed over {$10000.00}. I was terrified & called One Main Financial. They assured me I did n't owe that. I only owed the $ XXXX I had borrowed. The lady said she never understood why their statements always put all the interest in like that as the balance. She assured me I only owed the {$5000.00} I borrowed. One Main 's online information is shady & vague. My account never shows what part of my payment applies to principal vs what applies to interest. My mailed statements are also shady & vague offering no information. It is like they took all the interest that would accrue over the life of the loan ( 5 years ) & they lumped it together in some false balance due. They act like I owe all the interest that would accrue over 5 years but I owe all that interest starting day XXXX. I can not follow what is going on. I have asked the One Main corporate office for an amortization schedule to be told only the local branch can provide that. The local branch says they can not provide this info. I have made timely payments for 1 year & I was told on XXXX that my principal balance was {$5100.00}. When I asked the man on the phone ( XXXX XXXX ), how was it possible for a loan principal to ever be more than the amount that was borrowed especially after a year of making payments. XXXX said he was not sure but he thought One Main front loaded all their interest so I was n't actually ever making payments to my principal over the last year. I was dumbfounded. Mt principal balance was amended today by One Mail to approx {$4900.00}. Somehow in XXXX payments I have only paid {$19.00} of principal? My loan is only for 5 years & in one year I have paid nothing to principal?? An online generated amortization schedule show my principal should be somewhere between $ XXXX {$4600.00}. I feel like my money is being misapplied & One Main Financial thinks their average customer is too XXXX to figure this out on their own so they improperly apply payments & they hide how they apply payments by refusing to provide amortization schedules & by not making standard lender loan information available to their customers.
