Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX , my husband and I applied for a loan with One Main Financial located in XXXX XXXX , MD. Since having the loan, we have made a numerous amount of payments on time and when my husband was laid off, we requested to have our loan deferred . One way or another, since having this loan, as of XX/XX/XXXX , only {$1000.00} has been applied to the principal and the representative said that if we paid in full today, our total balance due would be {$13000.00}. We borrowed {$15000.00} a few years ago and have made payments totaling over {$7000.00} since having this loan. Our balance should be significantly lower especially since we have paid a significant amount during the tenure of this loan. In speaking with several r eps at One Main, they were unable to explain why an enormous amount was going solely to interest EVERY month. We are in the process of pursuing a civil lawsuit against One Main if the funds that we have already paid is not applied promptly. This issue has been brought up previously and have remained unaddressed by One Main.

Complaint: I received a loan from One Main Financial i n Louisiana on XXXX XXXX 2017. I was not informed what pre computed interest meant exactly. My loan interest is over 20 %. I 'm still waiting on my documents from them to know the exact amount of interest. So now my {$5000.00} loan is {$11000.00}. The usury law for Louisiana has a legal max of 12 % for personal loans. They are breaking the law and fooled me.

Complaint: My loan was taken out XX/XX/XXXX with the first payment of {$230.00} due on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment. Pleased that so much more went to principal over interest, I was committed to paying my loan early.
Then, One Main closed my initial account and opened a new account with the same info. I 'm not sure why, I never received any communication on this. I now have two accounts from One Main on my credit report. At any rate, my statement date changed. I did not have an amount due when I made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I made a payment of {$250.00} figuring I could pay down faster.
On XX/XX/XXXX a statement cut and showed {$0.00} due. This seemed fine because I had just made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX.
On XX/XX/XXXX a statement cut and showed {$210.00} due. I made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX.
On XX/XX/XXXX a statement cut and showed {$230.00} due, with no reduction in principal balance. This is when I called One Main.
They are saying since I did n't make a payment in the month of March, the entire {$210.00} PLUS {$20.00} from my May payment all went to interest.
They keep saying I did n't make a payment but this is not true. So far, I 've had 4 payment due on the loan ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ). So far I have made 4 payments ( XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX ).

I reviewed my credit reports earlier and noticed tha t One Main lis ted XXXX s eparate accounts on my XXXX and XXXX credit report s. One of the account listed an account that was open for a month and then sold to another lender. A new account then appears which is the one which is still valid. I Only opened a single account and do not wa nt XXXX accounts listed on my credit report.

Complaint: We have automatic debit setup to repay our loan. Payments are drafted on the XXXX of each month. A telephone call on X/XX/2017 asking to post-pone the X/XX/2017 draft until X/XX/2017 was denied. I was told we must call 3 days in advance to alter our automatic debit payment and my call on XXXX was too late. I asked if this was communicated to their customers? The representative said " does n't know. '' The rep attempted to cancel/post-pone the transaction but it still went through and I was assessed an overdraft fee of {$37.00} by my financial institution.

Complaint: I have has several issues at two different locations, even with corporate. So the first location XXXX tried to add on several options to my loan without my permission, told me I had to borrow more than I asked for to get approved. I asked for XXXX they said I had to pay off all debt on credit report around {$10000.00}. So i asked for XXXX they said I had to borrow {$10000.00} to get approved. I said that is too much, they got it down to {$6000.00}. Also told me I had to do automatic payments, pay fees, and interest was not disclosed. They also did not tell me about all payment options to me. I called corporate asked to be transferred to another office. They sent me to XXXX . This location also had undisclosed fees, and tried to add on optional items to my loan. They also had undisclosed fees, and did not give me correct information.They were to pay off current loan, and refinance me. However, it was not the correct pay off amount. What they paid off was higher than the original loan, even after I made a payment of {$190.00}, and had the loan for less than one month. I called the manager, sent emails and even called corporate no one has returned my call. I was speaking to someone name XXXX from corporate out of South Carolina, she was suppose to help with the incorrect pay off amount. Stated she would research, and get back to me. It has now been three weeks no response after several calls, and messages to her. So she is now avoiding me, and none of them are taking responsibility. Although they were legally, morally, and ethically wrong. Furthermore, my husband and I wanted to get a loan or I would co-sign for him. We received a declination letter stating they could not verify our income, it was a lie. We had all pay stubs. They also said debt to income ratio, it was a lie. They improved me for an additional loan of {$3700.00} my take home is {$2500.00}. My husband, and I only wanted {$1500.00} and our combined take home is {$5000.00}. So they have unethical sales practices, they want you to borrow more than you need. They claim it is to reduce debt when in reality your payments go up with their loan. They pay off lower rate loans, for their higher rate loan. Therefore, no benefit for the customer, and nothing is done in the best interest of the consumer. The dates all range from XX/2017 - XX/2017

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX , One Main Financial ran a hard inquiry on my credit report along with my husbands. This was NOT authorized nor did we give them consent to do so. We currently have a loan through them for se veral years. We did not ask to refinance or anything like that. They did not have permission to do this . One Main has been caught in so many lies, several by me alone. They tell you one thing and then do another.

Frequent or repeated calls
Complaint: This company call repeatedly throughout the day, sometimes in excess of 12 times, all from different numbers. They have also contacted a friend of mine several thousands of miles away, several times this past week. Yesterday and just today was the last time. A woman by the name of XXXX XXXX called from XXXX . She told my friend that she thought she was me, then asked for my number. She was told no information would be given to her without her stating who she was and what company she was calling from. She would not disclose the company name. I have sent several e-mails as well as letters to the company asking them to stop calling my friends and family, and stop harassing me several times per day, and the continue to do so!
