Complaint: I was contacted by XXXX mail onXX/XX/XXXX stating " There 's still time let 's talk then I also received a phone call from the manager named XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX asking me to come into the office. As I told him I lost everything in the wildfires here in Tennessee in XX/XX/XXXX, then my father ( XXXX XXXX ) passed away in XX/XX/XXXX, and my mother ( XXXX XXXX ) passed away in XX/XX/XXXX( three months 2017 apart with no life insurance ) and told him that I also had to pay my part back to the relatives for their funeral and I still have to get a head stone for both of them, he proceeded to tell me that those things can wait. Now suffering from XXXX I have quite a few doctors appointments but I did get by the office within that following week. One Main Financial is now trying to state that they could not offer my mother life insurance because of her age but in the document we both paid in life insurance on the loan. If they could not give my mother life insurance then that would be discrimination. The loan is also secured with my mothers vehicle and I have noticed on my credit reports they have it listed unsecured and secured when they keep reporting and destroying my credit ( that I am trying to repair ). When I walked into the office here in XXXX, TN XXXX seen me and all she told me was " it left her office this morning ''. They kept a copy of my mothers ( XXXX XXXX ) death certificate and the office it supposedly went to the gentlemen could not pull it up on the internet so I did not have a phone number or address although it has an Indiana address on my credit reports. The address is One Main XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, IN XXXX with a phone number XXXX. I 'm XXXX and on a fixed income and this company does not seem to be doing business properly. I have included my mothers death certificate ( which she is the co-applicant insured and had her vehicle as collateral. I also highlighted the area of this contract where we paid insurance on this loan with both of our signatures. The account number on this One Main loan is XXXX. Can you please investigate this loan and this company because they keep on reporting to all three credit bureaus as much as possible it seems only to hurt me and my financial future. If you need anything further than what I provide please let me know. Thank you very much in advance. XXXX XXXX. Also can you please have them stop reporting also until this investigation is resolved?

Complaint: I have tried several times to contact Springleaf Financial/OneMain Financial to correct the unpaid status on my credit reports. In both cases the accounts were sold. Springleaf to XXXX XXXX and OneMain to XXXX XXXX Both loans were settled with the debt purchasing companies. Copies of the paid information was sent to all three credit reporting agencies, as well as, the debt sellers. Both debt buyers have confirmed payment and claim to have notified the debt sellers of the paid status. XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX and was told the account is paid/settled and that I should dispute the account with Springleaf to have the status updated as Paid/Settled to all credit reporting agencies. XX/XX/XXXX I called Springleaf and was told the account was a charge off when sold and even though now that it was paid to the debt buyer, they will not update the credit bureaus as paid/settled. XX/XX/XXXX I called XXXX XXXX and was told they report to OneMain all payments once a month on the XXXX. My account should be updated on all credit bureaus as Paid/Settled upon the next reporting cycle. XX/XX/XXXX I called OneMain and was told when XXXX XXXX reports the payment, the credit bureau will be updated as paid/settled. XX/XX/XXXX I mailed all proof of payment and a dispute letter-request to updated paid status to all credit bureaus to both OneMain and Springleaf Financial. XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Springfleaf/OneMain claiming the information reported is correct? They are still reporting the accounts as " Charged Off '' delinquent and unpaid. XX/XX/XXXX I submit the complaint to the CFPB in hopes to obtain a correct paid status on the Springleaf and OneMain trade lines. I do n't understand why even after a debt is sold and paid to the debt buyer, why the debt seller will not update the paid status. That would be the correct status, would n't it?

Complaint: One Main Financial is a predatory lender. I took out a loan with them a couple years ago and fell behind on payments. Eventually they were able to rewrite the loan so I was no longer behind but they never told me that my principal and interest payments were changing. They are charging me over 90 % in interest. I pay XXXX per month and XXXX is going towards principle. There is no way this loan can be paid off within the terms that I signed the contract. They never disclosed to me the interest rate would jump up to 90 % if the loan fell behind due to me being unemployed. These are dishonest and deceptive practices and One Main needs to fix my loan so that I am able to pay this off in a reasonable amount of time. This is not right and they refuse to fix this issue. They lied to me and now are trying to go after me for not paying my loan but they are robbing me on interest. This loan should be paid off in the time frame agreed and the principle and interest needs to be fixed. They never told me or disclosed this interest rate.

Complaint: I have received loans from OneMain Financial/Springleaf Financial since XX/XX/XXXX. I have refinanced my loans with them and each time it was refinanced they would transfer the balance owed along with the entire interest on the account leading to my receiving around XXXX to XXXX dollars and amount owed up to {$17000.00}. In XX/XX/XXXX, I looked on line and saw that my actual amount owed on two accounts with OneMain was less than what they stated I owed on a XX/XX/XXXX re-loan and consolidation of the accounts. I went to their office to consolidate the loans the end of XX/XX/XXXX. I was shown to a computer to electronically sign off on the documents. The loan officer explained the documents on the screen. I am a XXXX veteran suffering from XXXX XXXX XXXX and could not see the screens. So I listened to what she said and signed off on the documents. I was surprised when few days later, I went on-line and saw the amount owed was {$17000.00} for a {$2500.00} dollar loan. I have never borrowed that amount from OneMain in the seven years that I have been their customers. From XX/XX/XXXX to present, I have been ill and suffered some financial difficulties along with family debt issues due to unexpected death of my niece due to XXXX XXXX. Because of that, I missed two of my payments with OneMain. On Friday, XX/XX/XXXX, the manager from the OneMain office on XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX called me at work and harassed me about the late payments. I told him I would talk with him after I got from work at XXXX that morning. I called him back at XXXX am and I told him not to call me at work as this was a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act. I told him that I would make a payment on my next payday and will catch my account up in XXXX. He continued to harass me and said that was not good enough and he needed better reasons on why I was late. I told him that he could accept my reasons and my pay plan because that was the best I could do. He then stated that I owed over {$17000.00} to OneMain and I told him that was not true and I demanded that OneMain provide me with statements showing where I received that amount of money from OneMain. He then became very conciliatory and stated that he would expect payment on my next payday. After I got off the phone with him, I contacted the main office through their customer XXXX number. I spend over an hour on the phone being passed from one individual to the next. I was told that my loan documents and statements were not available and that they would have to get the documents from the branch office. After I explained that I wanted the monthly statements from them and not the branch because I believed that I had been scammed by the office, they told me someone would contact me from their customer care team. Today, I spoke with XXXX at XXXX, option XXXX, extension XXXX and I requested all my loan documents from XX/XX/XXXX to present. She stated that she would have to look into it as they may contain propriety information and they may not be able to give them to me. I told her that they were my documents and they needed to provide them to me. During my discussion with her, she kept saying that one of the loans had a balance of over {$9000.00} dollars in XXXX and that amount was transferred to the new consolidated loan. I asked if she was telling me that the complete loan was transferred with all the interest transferred as well and she stated that the amount was again transferred to the new loan. I told her that this was wrong as the interest should have been taken off the loan because the loan was paid off and interest stops on that day. You can not transfer the amount of the loan plus the interest for a period of which the loan has been paid!!!
I firmly believe that OneMain has been scamming people and transferring the loan amounts plus interest when loans are consolidated or a new loan is initiated before the old loan is paid off. I request your assistance in getting to what I truly owe OneMain and that this process of scamming customers is stopped and OneMain fined for their practices.

Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Complaint: Received a phone call, then was placed on hold. I was informed this is in regards to an alleged debt I am not responsible for. Also, the alleged original creditor is NOT listed on any of my credit reporting files. Note : the address mentioned in the attached letter has been updated to my current address. Current address has been in effect since 2014. Also, my credit reports are frozen, which prevents unauthorized parties from viewing my credit files without my permission.
