Incorrect information on your report

Student loan: Private student loan

Old information reappears or never goes away
Complaint: There were 3 private student loans opened during the time of XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. These Navient account has been delinquent since XX/XX/XXXX. They were originally Sallie Mae, when Navient took over in XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX they stated that i made a year of good payments and then charged them off. I have since disputed the good payments and had then removed however this will still be appearing on my credit bureaus till XX/XX/XXXX. these should have fallen off in XX/XX/XXXX. Per the fair credit reporting act these should have fallen off seven years after the date of first delinquency and not the date of last payment. Navient is trying to re age my accounts in order to keep them on my credit report longer, which is illegal. I fully give the CFPB permission to speak with Navient on my behalf about these student loans.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: I have been paying on student loans since XXXX. I have been a government employee since XXXX. In XXXX, it was announced that Public Service Loan Forgiveness would be honored after 120 on time payments for federal student loans beginning in XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately contacted Sallie Mae, now Navient in XXXX to find out what I needed to do to qualify for this loan forgiveness and was told to have my employer complete a form that I was a public service employee and submit it and the application by XX/XX/XXXX. In late XXXX, I contacted Navient to make sure I was on track with submitting the necessary forms since I would qualify for loan forgiveness, only to learn that I had been misguided on that there had to be a specific type of repayment plan set up in order to qualify. I was not provided that information in XXXX and based on what I was told, did not feel the need to contact the lender till years later when I was eligible for the loan forgiveness. In XXXX, the company offered me an income driven repayment plan, but that would have started the clock for another 120 payments before I would qualify for student loan forgiveness and my debt would be paid in full by that time. I am very frustrated with the responses that Navient has provided. They gave bad information when I needed it the most to start the clock on the 120 months years ago. I have paid over {$200.00} per month on {$30000.00} federal student loans since XXXX, and still owe {$15000.00}. Something is wrong. I previously submitted a complaint and received a poor response that made it look like I was provided the information I needed up front, which is NOT true. I wasn't given the right information until late XXXX, after i spent the past 9 years thinking i was on track for loan forgiveness in XXXX. I feel I should qualify for loan forgiveness, since I have paid on these loans for 22 years and have been employed as a public service employee for 20 years.

Public record information inaccurate
Complaint: *the attached screen shot shows the libelous remarks reported by navient after the loans were closed due to being pd in full through the consolidation* This company repeatedly puts remarks on my reports that are libelous and false. They have reported after my loans were Consolidated from them to another lender that I disagreed with the results of the investigation when in fact I did not. I feel that this is retaliation for me filing a previous complaint with this organization against navient and I'm about ready to allow my attorney to file a criminal suits against navient for libel and violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act for reporting false information to the bureaus. I have asked this organization on numerous previous occasions to not report false libelous information to the bureau 's and yes they continuously time and time again do so which I feel is retaliation and I'm about to retaliate against them myself by way of a lawsuits and a very negative media campaign.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have been paying off these student loans for over 10 years now. I am at the point where I want to pay off my student loans very aggressively and be done with them within a year or 2. However, Navient does not allow you to pay more than the minimal payment they suggest for you as a monthly payment. You have to " apply for '' and choose one of their payment plans that are all very low and minimal payments. If you want to pay off more than those minimal amounts you have to manually log in every time and specify exactly the overpayment you want to make. I want to be able to pay off a large sum as an automatic monthly payment without having to log in every month, but they make this impossible. I easily do this with the 2 other loan companies I use with no issues. You should be able to choose exactly the amount you want to pay off as a monthly auto payment. I have gone through every link on their site trying to figure out how to increase my monthly payments with no luck. I feel that they are purposefully and actively trying to discourage me from paying more than the minimum payment each month. When I try to contact them about this issue, there is a roadblock there as well. There is an endless loop of broken links that never takes you to a place where you can email or message them. I click on " Contact us '' and it takes you to page where you can click to 'email them ', and that takes you to the log-in page, even if you are already logged in. And when you log-in again, then you have to go through the same steps again, never getting anywhere to contact them online. Finally I give up every time because I get so frustrated. I think this is their plan. This problem has been going on for a long time. They do not respect their customers, and I believe they purposefully try to make you owe them more money by accruing more interest over a longer than necessary time period. I don't have much in terms of documents to attach for evidence because these are things I can not do, so it's hard to document them. So I will attach some screen shots of the place I got stuck trying to contact them.

Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Private student loan

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: My daughter and I have been trying to work with Navient for almost 12 full months as of XX/XX/2019 trying to lower her monthly payment to an affordable amount. I am positive we signed up for a Fixed Interest Rate, but they continue to raise the interest rate stating we signed up for Variable Rate. I can not find our loan documents on their website either. We have recently called to request a copy of this information. I am cosignor on this loan with my daughter but since cosigning have become XXXX XXXX, unable to work and therefore, unable to help her make payments on this loan. Navient doesn't seem to think that is an issue. Navient continues to offer no solutions to be able to afford a payment. She has used her 12 months of forebearance as of XX/XX/2019 trying to work with them to help her be able to afford payments. Navient has offered her interest only payments, or forebearance. Neither of those options HELP. We have called them monthly if not twice a month hoping to find the right person to answer and help offer a solution. She isn't looking to not pay her debts, she just wants to be able to feed her family and enjoy life a little while paying her debts.

Can't temporarily delay making payments
Complaint: I signed up for automatic payments from my XXXX account. But later I stopped using that account so I called in approximately in XX/XX/XXXX to tell Navient to use another account instead for my payments and to cease using the XXXX account. This company has taken money out of the wrong account several months from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX even after I repeatedly called and told them that that is no longer an account that I am using for loan payments. I have received 12 overdraft fees ( each fee is {$34.00} ) due to their failure to update my account info after I called them several times to request that it be done. They said that I have to specifically say that I want them to cancel any previous automatic payments when I call in. I believe this to be self-explanatory because if I call in to tell them to STOP deducting from that account and gave them new information, that is telling them to stop taking from an account that is not being used anymore. When I called to complain the ombudsman said they would refund my overdraft fees. However, later when the fees were not refunded I was told they would not be refunding the fees because it was not their fault. Now they have marked my credit late 30-60 days because I refuse to pay them until I have the refund. Further, I can not afford to pay the amount they are asking me to pay. They refuse to lower my payments to an affordable amount that I can pay and they will not refund the fees that they caused me plus they have ruined my credit.

Keep getting calls about your loan
Complaint: This morning when I arrived to work there was a phone call from Navient. They did not leave a message. Later in the morning, Human Resources provided me with a fax regarding a request for employment information. It was assumed that I was looking for work. This could put my current job in jeopardy. I have not contacted Navient to discuss this issue.

Problem lowering your monthly payments
Complaint: I was on a rehabilitation plan to bring my loans current. When that period was up, my payments went up well over {$400.00} with Navient. When I called to lower them, the only option they gave me was to extend the loans, which only lowered the payment by around {$150.00}. I had no choice but to take the option, as I could not afford the payments, even though this wasn't even much lower. I asked about Income Based Repayment plans, and was quickly dismissed, with the rep saying it would be an exuberant amount and that it wasn't worth it. When I asked to go through the process anyway, she told me this new extended amount was the lowest it would be. I took the extended amount, and feel like I was pushed into a corner. I do not feel like I was helped properly. It seems as though Navient benefits more from the extended amount, and therefore did not want to give me the option to choose IBR.
