Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Complaint: Chase Freedom Visa and violation of 2018 Senior Safe Act and Elder Fraud. On XX/XX/2019 I reported a dispute with two charges made onXX/XX/2019 on my XX/XX/2019 Chase Visa Statement. After my calls and written dispute letters, Chase 's Customer Service stated they could not help me because they had two " online Square '' receipts with my signature from a " Face-to-Face '' transaction. I told Chase that I was overcharged : I thought the purchase was for {$40.00} but the Chase Statement ( and apparently the online Receipts ) show {$4200.00} and {$310.00}. I believe Chase Visa is in violation of the 2018 Senior Safe Act because my spending/charging history clearly proves that I do not make such large purchases for cosmetics. I am an elderly senior citizen and would never spend such a large amount on cosmetics -- especially not at a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX in XXXX Florida. Nevertheless, Chase authorized both charges of {$4200.00} and {$310.00} without red flags from its Chase Fraud Dept. I am alarmed that Chase would authorize this amount because other card companies ( notably XXXX ) would have declined authorization until I contact them directly to verify the amount. Furthermore, Chase Customer Service was clearly not sympathetic and left garbled messages on my answering machine to call some number that sounded fraudulent. I did contact the merchant ( XXXX XXXX ) to try to get an itemized receipt and a refund. XXXX aka XXXX in XXXX FL was unable to provide me with an itemized receipt of what I had purchased for that extraordinary amount of money. Furthermore, XXXX told me absolutely No Refunds and I could not even exchange unused products after 14 days. As a retired very elderly senior citizen on a limited income, I am horrified by both Chase Visa and XXXX 's disregard for my situation.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: i contacted CHASE regarding a fraudulent charge on my account. However CHASE refuses to look into this matter at all! We have been CHASE clients for 20 years and they don't want to provide necessary security and or investigate fraudulent charges on our account. I conference called CHASE with my husband on XX/XX/2019 and their Claims department that handles issues such as fraudulent or unauthorized charges didn't want to help us we don't understand why and they refuse to further speak with us about this problem. on XX/XX/2019 we spoke with XXXX working for CHASE located in the XXXX refused and caused immense emotional distress to my wife. This not believable that our own bank CHASE is helping these fraudulent charges occur i sincerely believe they are in genuine and unwilling to help us with this issue. The merchant that took the money is a hotel in XXXX, Arizona and we had disputes with them regarding charges from XX/XX/2019 that we contacted the hotel and they advised us to contest the charges and their owner would call us back, we never heard back until they ran our bank card information again on XX/XX/2019 which prompted us to contact CHASE right away.

Debt is not yours
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX XXXX, I received a call from XXXX XXXX of XXXX XXXX XXXX. He stated that I had a credit card debt that had already been through collections and now they were going to collect the debt. The supposed debt was a credit card through Chase Manhattan Bank. Much of this conversation is a blur because I was surprised by the call and his aggressive behavior. When I stated that there is no way this was my card/debt, he informed me that it was because it was tied to my ssn. When he read my ssn back to me I was shocked. I informed him that I don't know where he got his information, but I had never had an account of any kind with Chase, ever. He stated that if I didn't pay {$2100.00} that this was going to be report to the credit bureaus and they were going to take some other action which I didn't understand. He also informed me that the collection agency had sent letters to 3 different addresses. I never got any letters. Never received any phone calls. We argued for a little longer and I told him I wasn't doing anything until they sent me something giving me some more information. At this point he told me for like the 5th time that our conversation was being recorded and that he needed a minute to email me what I was asking for. He stated that if I hang up while he is sending the email, that they would move forward with the process. I have attached the letter he emailed. What I found interesting is the card number is only 15 digits. At that point I was done with him.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX to educate him on some information that I had gathered. I did not get XXXX, but got his boss instead. I informed her that I had spoken with Chase and that they have no record on any accounts tied to my ssn. We checked multiple ways and nothing. I did not get her name, but she wasn't listening. She said it was my debt and that they had bought the debt from a collection agency. When I asked what collection agency, she would not tell me. When I told her that the credit card number she was trying say was mine only had 15 digits in it, she gruffly responded, " that doesn't matter ''. I'm pretty sure that proving that I have debt would require an actual card number. Some where along there, she informed me that this debt is from the XX/XX/XXXX 's. Nothing specific, just the XX/XX/XXXX's. " Oh he didn't tell you that? ". When I told her about Chase saying I never had an account, she said very condescendingly that back then it was Chase Manhattan and today it is Chase. She is absolutely incorrect on that statement. They would not have any records for debit from back then. No he did not. She made sure to tell me that if choose not to pay, that we will end up in small claims court. She repeatedly asked me, " are you saying you are not going to pay? '' I never once said that. I asked repeatedly for the signed application, what the charges were and where they were made. I was told that I had the only information I was going to get.
I have now spoken with 3 different representatives from Chase, the last 2 were made to understand her comments about the debt being from the XX/XX/XXXX's and that they would not have any records of it because it was Chase Manhattan. They almost laughed. None of them came up with an account of any kind tied to me in any way.
I have looked at 2 of the 3 credit reports and it shows no collections, no account with Chase, nothing. I spoke with a representative from XXXX today and she looked in all the places she could look and she found no collections, no Chase, nothing.
This is XXXX and I do not know how they can still have an actual license to operate from the State of Illinois. They are nothing more than apparent legal crooks.
I never received the first letter, call, nothing from anyone.
And, oh ya, XXXX did a credit check on me on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. The kicker is that they did a credit check two years ago as well. Now why do you suppose they did that? I have never had even a late payment in all the credit I have ever had, let alone an account go to collections.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: I recently signed up for a new credit card from Chase Bank co-branded with XXXX XXXX. The card came with a promotion that requires a minimum spend of {$4000.00} within the first 3 months in order to receive the promotion. I have been using the card exclusively to reach the spend goal and also switched all of my automatic payments over to this card to help reach the required spending. Today XX/XX/2019 at approx. XXXX XXXX XXXX time, I went to make a {$3.00} purchase at a coffee shop and was embarrassingly informed that the card was declined. I called Chase at approx. XXXX XXXX XXXX time to inquire why the charge was declined. During the call the rep from Chase also informed me that an automatic payment was declined. The reason for the declines according to Chase was that Chase put a temporary hold on the account. Why? I was told it was a random hold. This was never communicated to me so that I could make alternate arrangements for the automatic payment and nor was this communicated when I signed up for the card. Had I not called I would not have known about the declined automatic payment and been charged a late fee and an insufficient funds fee. Additionally, the rep informed me that Chase puts random holds on accounts from time to time. So basically, I should never set up auto payments with their card. Also I am taking a chance of another embarrassing moment of having the card declined at a merchant. I have had automatic payments set up with XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX and NEVER, I repeat NEVER experienced anything like this. Very discouraging business practice when you want people to use your card.
Also, very poor customer service by their senior phone rep.

Complaint: I called JP Morgan Chase regarding my Private Mortgage Insurance in early XXXX. My mortgage was purchased by the entity in XXXX and I have been paying Private Mortgage Insurance since inception of the loan. During XXXX I realized we were very close to reaching the 80 % LTV thresh-hold required to get rid of our PMI and wanted to go ahead and pay down my principal to reach the magic thresh-hold. Our family had much more free cash available and getting rid of the approximately {$100.00} additional monthly payment seemed to make sense.
When I called and asked if could pay down the additional principal I was told that even if I did that I would have to either ( 1 ) pay for an appraisal or ( 2 ) wait until XX/XX/XXXX and request a waiver of PMI. I decided that instead of forfeiting {$550.00} I would wait the additional year. Getting close to XX/XX/XXXX I called Chase and asked what steps I would have to take to remove my PMI. I was told that even though my LTV would dip below the 80 % thresh-hold this year I would still have to pay for an appraisal or wait until my LTV hit 78 % for the PMI to fall off. I was very thorough in my original dealings with chase and was told that once I hit 80 % I would not have to pay for an appraisal, rather I would just have to request the amount be waived. Had I been given accurate information in the beginning, I would have paid for the appraisal - saving me over {$2500.00} in PMI payments. I also was VERY thorough in my communications with chase and calculated every scenario giving them ample proof that my LTV was well within the requirements. This work on my end was ignored and their response was simply that I had to pay for an appraisal anyway.
I am going to pay the appraisal - mainly because I'm tired of throwing away money when my account is obviously not a risk. I have never been late on any debt payment including my mortgage payments to Chase. Please see my communication with them below regarding why a waiver is applicable in my scenario.
" I would like to request a waiver of our monthly PMI payment. Our principal amount due {$130000.00} hits 79.93 percent of the original loan value {$170000.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. At this point in time the amount due will only be 73.62 percent of our original appraised value {$190000.00}. The original appraisal was performed on XX/XX/XXXX by XXXX XXXX, XXXX License # TX XXXX R. Our current value according to the XXXX County Appraisal District is {$220000.00}. Using this value as of XX/XX/XXXX our LTV will be 61.21 percent. The appraisal value from the district is publicly available via the XXXX County Appraisal District at XXXX XXXX XXXX. You can confirm this value easily by searching for our home.
Other factors to consider when determining whether to waive the PMI amount include our current annual income of {$220000.00}, our high credit scores, and our history of timely payments both regarding our credit card with chase, our mortgage with chase, and any escrow shortages that hit our account.
I will be happy to provide any documents required to process this request.
I contacted chase in XXXX regarding removal of the PMI and at that time I was told I would have to receive an appraisal costing {$550.00} to remove the PMI OR I could wait until XX/XX/XXXX and fill out paperwork and the PMI would be waived at this point. I am now being told that I will have to pay an appraisal fee in XX/XX/XXXX, even though I confirmed with the original contact that this would not be the case. If I had been given clear information at the time of my first request I would have paid the {$550.00} and forewent the addition 12 months of PMI {$1100.00}. I am tired of dealing with the inadequate information Chase provides regarding the removal of this PMI. I understand that PMI is for protection of the lender, which is completely understandable, however, based on factors listed above I do not consider our account a risk and do not believe the insurance payment is necessary. Please accept this as my request for a waiver. ''

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: CHASE HAS WRONGLY CHARGED MY ACCOUNT FOR THOUSANDS AND BLAMES ON UNTRAINED CUSTOMER SERVICE Firstly, Id like to start by saying that prior to this incident, Ive enjoyed being a member of the Chase family and rewards that have come from being a Sapphire Card holder. Ive traveled the world with Points, helped build my dream business with the credit line, used this as my primary card for all major expenses ( spending over {$98000.00} in XXXX ) and have referred others who use the card as well.
So you can imagine my dismay when I called early XXXX BEFORE I MADE the initial transaction that was disputed, to ask a customer service rep if Id be covered in a very specific situation. I told the rep that I would be sending money to a person for a service that I would be paying for using my Chase card via a mobile payment service ( I gave examples ie XXXX/ XXXX XXXX/ XXXX ). I asked, in the event that I dont receive the service that Im paying for, if I was covered to receive a refund. She said that I was, which was the ONLY reason that I transferred {$7000.00} through XXXX XXXX and XXXX via my Chase card ( which incurred a 3 % fee ), because I thought I was protected and I trusted what the Chase rep told me to be true. So, after about a week, I was supposed to receive the service that I paid for and I didnt. I called Chase immediately and started the dispute on XX/XX/XXXX and had an ongoing line of communication between myself and the dispute department, providing them with everything asked for in a timely manner. I received a temporary credit for the {$7000.00}. After weeks of no update since the last response from me on XX/XX/XXXX, I was surprised to see the rebill of the the XXXX XXXX charges on XX/XX/XXXX and a letter following the next day saying that the dispute charges were found valid.
I dont believe that I should be held responsible for the charges especially because I did my due diligence by calling Chase customer service before I made the transaction in order to confirm protection. And the only reason that I went forward with such a large transaction ( and paying extra fees by using the credit card versus just paying no fees via my bank account or cash ) was because the rep confirmed that I was protected in the event that that service wasnt rendered. So now, the service is still unrendered but yet, what I was assured would be covered, seems to have been misinformation that I thought would by factual - given the source. I actually was told, on one of the many occasions I called to speak to a supervisor, that I should have asked to speak the fraud because the person who told me that was likely in customer service and likely wasnt trained on how to answer that properly.
I understand that people are human and mistakes happen, but in the event that human error causes such an egregious outcome, I hope you would agree that its up to the company that they represent to make it right. I would like to continue utilizing Chases services, but the only way to restore the broken trust is by honoring the information given to me by the Chase representative. I hope to look forward to many years of being a part of the Chase family

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I purchased {$320.00} USD of merchandise at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. My Chase credit card was swiped several times because the internet was not connecting. We didnt realize it but, both the swipe at XXXX, as well as the swipe at XXXX went through XXXX XXXX ( The vendors card reader ). I only signed ONCE for the XXXX swipe.
When I first saw the charge in XXXX I called Chase. The customer service person told me that it was obviously a double charge and it would be removed from my bill. It was for about a month and then it reappeared.
Both the manager XXXX XXXX and owner XXXX XXXX have contacted Chase in my behalf. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and I conference called Chase. Customer service would not let us speak to anyone handling this dispute. The owner, XXXX, wrote to Chase ( XXXX ) saying I do not owe them money. I also included a copy of his letter in my correspondence ( XXXX XXXX ). I have written Chase ( XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) and included email and XXXX correspondence from the vendor. I have called Chase countless times with frustrating results.
I recently found out that the vendor was paid twice and returned one payment to XXXX XXXX. This is now a matter between Chase and XXXX XXXX.

Complaint: I applied for a United Explorer Mileage Plus card because I received a card in the mail. I applied and was denied because they said I opened too many credit cards. I have an exceptional credit rating ( XXXX ), have no credit card debt, and have nothing against my credit. There is no reason to be denied a credit card. I wanted this card because I will soon be traveling with United and wanted to get my bags checked for free, not to mention the other perks that come with traveling with the card. I have a XXXX card that allows me to already do this and I enjoy using the card when traveling. So, basically, they are insisting I use another airline where I can use my credit card for perks. I have never been denied a credit card. I am just amazed that they would turn me down.

Loan balance remaining after the vehicle is repossessed and sold
Complaint: Car repossessed on XX/XX/2018 for a back due amount of {$650.00}. I missed one payment and the next lease payment was due. I had some problems making the lease payments in the past on time due to some financial issues I was having but they were always made often with me paying a late fee. Chase never once tried to work with me to come up with a plan that could work for both of us. I received a certified letter on a Friday and they repossessed the car on Monday. The calls I did make to Chase were often handle by rude, abrupt customer service representatives. I did file a complaint with the attorney general of Pennsylvania but they were unable to help. l

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I ordered a XXXX XXXX XXXX '' from XXXX, and received an order confirmation that it would be delivered between XXXX XXXX.
Come XX/XX/XXXX, I am in a rush to get my order but have not received it yet. It was already late, so I checked the tracking and delivery to locate the item and saw that it was already delivered! I thought this was a mistake because I did not receive it and saw that there was no delivery attempt notice that I missed with my resident manager. Unsure of how to proceed, I requested for a refund as soon as I could because I suspected that my order delivery was botched or lost. I called XXXX Billing Department about this and, following a script, they tell me is that they see that the package was delivered to my address already, and to file a police report with local law enforcement -- with no sympathy nor responsibility to take further action on their end. Needless to say, they were no help and I'm growing anxiously frustrated at their disregard for my situation and lack of customer care. Naive as I was, I gave XXXX the benefit of the doubt and waited another week before taking further action in hopes that my package is just delayed.
Around XX/XX/XXXX, I have still not received the XXXX XXXX that I ordered and paid for. At this point I'm really upset, angry, and confused. I speak to XXXX 's rep and they tell me that they will not be able to do anything else unless I file a police report. That's ridiculous! This was not good enough! I hang up and proceed to call my credit card company, Chase, in hopes I would get some help on this and get this resolved. After explaining my situation to the Chase representative, I opened a dispute for further investigation on my situation and was granted temporary credit for the duration of the investigation. I am somewhat at ease now because I've been with Chase for years and my experience with them has always been excellent, so I give Chase some time to sort it out with XXXX, confident that we would reach a resolution.
A month later, XX/XX/XXXX, I receive a 24-page investigation report from Chase reviewing their and XXXX 's findings. The report told me a lot about what I already knew, such as : the billing and shipping address, and the shipping and delivery dates. But what I was shocked to discover was a page titled " Proof of Delivery. '' On this page there was the signature of a person that I was not familiar with ; no one in my family, nor friends, let alone anyone in my residency had that name. Upon finding this, I responded to the letter indicating that this was not me or anyone I know, and that this is actually proof that I did NOT receive my order!
After about a week of waiting, today, I receive another letter from Chase on XX/XX/XXXX, telling me that they will not be crediting me for the order -- a XXXX that I paid for, and did NOT receive! I'm furious because I feel like I was scammed by XXXX and Chase because neither of them did anything to help. It was XXXX 's job to deliver my XXXX to me as agreed, but they didn't. Instead, it seems they're more concerned about having local law enforcement handle it instead because it's not their problem now. Meanwhile, XXXX pockets the money and turns a blind eye to the situation. I should not be the one to pay a costly price for a mistake that was not caused by me!

Complaint: I opened my account at about XXXX MST on XX/XX/2019. There was a welcome bonus offer on their website for new customers offering {$200.00}. The bonus is being offered through XX/XX/2019.
On the website there are 2 options presented. Open now and the coupon code is automatically applied or email me a coupon to take to a branch before XX/XX/2019. I clicked the open now button, completed my application and opened my Chase Total Checking account.
I deposited {$30.00} into my account the same day and signed up for direct deposit. My first paycheck was deposited on XX/XX/2019.
I never received a bonus. I called Chase Customer Service on XX/XX/2019 at XXXX. The representative didn't see a coupon applied to my account. He escalated my request to the research department. On XX/XX/2019 I received a call from XXXX XXXX. He left me a message and asked me to call him back at XXXX ext XXXX.
I returned his call at XXXX MST on XX/XX/2019. He told me that the coupon team reviewed my online session and did not see a coupon applied to that session so he couldn't do anything. I asked what would cause it to not be automatically applied as stated on the website and he said " I don't know what you did during your online session but there was no coupon applied. '' I asked if I was ineligible for some reason or declined for the coupon. And he just kept repeating that there wasn't a coupon applied to my online session so he couldn't honor the bonus. I was never provided a coupon code when I applied online. The website says coupon code automatically applied and it wasn't for some random reason that no one can seem to tell me.
