Incorrect information on your report

Mortgage: FHA mortgage

Complaint: We had a loan with chase, and we ended up in pre foreclosure. They started the foreclosure process, but we sold it before it was finalized. XXXX county public documents show we sold it to an individual. Foreclosure is defined as sold at auction. But this did not happen. We sold it before hand. But on our credit report it says foreclosure paid. Which is not the case. We have contacted them, and they will not remove or reword it correctly. So as we are trying to get another house 2 years after the fact, it is being denied due to a foreclosure. We need this removed from our reports

Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I visited the United Airlines website to purchase an airline ticket. United was offering the United Explorer Card through Chase with the following perks : XXXX bonus miles and {$100.00} Statement Credit after your first purchase. I clicked on the link, filled out the application, and my application was immediately accepted. Upon receiving the card in the mail, I proceeded to make my airline purchase. I noticed after I received my statement that I did not get the {$100.00} statement credit. On XX/XX/2019 I went back to the United Airlines website to look at the specific offer and the offer was still advertised ( XXXX bonus miles and {$100.00} statement credit ) it was the exact same offer I applied for. The offer is available to everyone and anyone who clicks on the link. When you click on the link you are not give an offer code or invitation number. I was able to access that same offer from my personal home computer, my work computer, and my phone. On XX/XX/2019, I wrote Chase an email to inquire about my {$100.00} Statement Credit but they refused to give me the statement credit. They claim that since I applied online something could have happened with the link and I was given a different offer and there is nothing they could do about it. I even sent them a PDF of the offer with the terms. Chase is advertising one thing, then giving the consumer something else and that is false advertising. Im going to cancel the credit card after I complete my trip but that will have a negative impact on my credit score. I have a very good credit score and have never had any problems with any other credit card. Chase is running a scam by advertising one thing and then changing the terms after you apply online.

Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I was scammed last XXXX for around {$530.00}. The transaction was done through XXXX but they advised me to dispute it with the card it was run on, Chase. When I did, they notified XXXX who then placed a hold on the funds of the merchant 's. XXXX months later, Chase then informed me they are closing it not in my favor, claiming I never provided proof, when in actuality I have submitted loads of proof and filled out a letter they sent. But they claimed I did not. They man was quite rude and I believe insulting me ( but was hard to tell if he called me names or not due to his lisp ) I then contacted XXXX who advised me that if Chase won't do anything, to take legal action against the merchant. I contacted them again and let them know I am prepared to do just that. She then offered to send my money back but not until XXXX releases the hold on the funds. XXXX tells me they are still waiting on Chase to make a decision and if it's in my favor the funds will be released to me and if not then the funds will be released back to the merchant. I then filed XXXX complaint, and received a call from Chase XXXX offices later that week. I advised her of all of this, but she was rude and continuing to claim I did not do what was asked of me and provide the needed proof. To move past her rudeness, I said to the point XXXX has the funds on hold regardless of what we're bickering about. She XXXX XXXX XXXX and I was told the exact same thing they told me before, just this time, someone from Chase was on the line to hear it. After XXXX explained to the lady from Chase Executive office they only need to respond advising it's in the customer 's favor then the funds will release back to my card. After an hour of taking XXXX 's time and going in circles, the Chase employee said she found the merchant also uses Chase bank and said the money must be lost somewhere in the Chase network and it's up to her to retrieve it. Again, after an hour of XXXX drilling it in to this lady 's head, she was under the impression that XXXX had nothing to do with it, despite the fact the have the money in question. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I called to follow up with the Dispute Dept and got the rudest people. I wanted to check the status and advise that I last heard they were looking in the Chase network for the money when XXXX explained to her they have the funds on hold, so if they take it out of the merchant 's Chase bank account, then they'd be taking it twice. The lady argued with me. I started to explain the entire story and when it came to when XXXX advised me to take legal action against the merchant, I was quickly cut off being told I said " legal action '' and has to transfer me, the lady did not allow me to speak, and obviously was not listening. The supervisor got on the phone claiming how I made threats to take legal action against Chase and was not receptive when I was trying to explain that I never said that and the rep never gave me the chance to talk. I then told the whole entire story, in hopes for some sort of answer or indication she was listening, she just says " ok, is there anything else I can help you with '' I then hung up. Chase representatives do not have the ability to listen and comprehend a problem, they are very anti-customer and it seems like they are doing everything they can to be against the customer when they should be helpful. They have made false claims and do not care when you try to explain to someone else. XXXX claims they are waiting on Chase to reply and Chase claims they are waiting on XXXX to reply. On my first go around with this dispute, Chase advised me they were closing it because the merchant replied, and only sent me the automated response but nothing from the actual merchant. It blows my mind that Chase belives that XXXX was the original merchant. All of this was explained on that XXXX call between Chase, XXXX and myself, but the Chase rep still argued, being against the customer continuing on about how I didn't provide the proof that I actually did. I am just appalled due to how they can be so against the customer and treat the customer with such disrespect.

Checking or savings account: Checking account

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: My debit card and credit card were stolen and several unauthorized charges were made using my card. I contacted Chase Bank and told them about my situation and filed a fraud claim. They put a temporary credit for the fraudulent charges back into my account while they further investigated the situation. A few days later, the temporary charges were reversed and I received a letter stating that they ( Chase ) denied my claim and that these charges were not fraudulent. I believe my claim was wrongly denied. I am a victim of identity theft and these were fraudulent charges, I am writing today to appeal my fraud dispute. There were several fraudulent charges on my Chase savings account of withdrawals on XX/XX/18 of {$11.00}, {$120.00}, and {$80.00}. As well as on XX/XX/18 of {$10.00}, {$300.00}, {$34.00}, {$7.00}, and {$34.00}. I did not make or authorize these charges. A temporary credit was added back into my account shortly on XX/XX/18 while my case was further investigated and then the temporary credit was reversed and once again taken out of my account. I received an email from Chase stating that after investigating my claim it has been decided that the disputed charges on my account were not fraudulent. Their proof or reason for believing this to be true is because the charges were made using a chip reader therefore someone physically had my card in their hands, and a pin was entered correctly the first time, no incorrect attempts made. I had already previously explained in my dispute both of the reasons these occurred before the investigation had started. Once again, I was a victim of a robbery. My card was not in my possession at the time of these charges. It is mandatory that I keep my personal belongings phone, wallet, purse, credit cards, etc. in my car or at home while I am at work. My car was broken into and everything was stolen from me My phone, wallet, purse, credit cards, ect. My wallet was stolen which had my Chase debit card in it. Someone else had my physical Chase debit card in their hands at the atm when making all these purchases/withdrawals. This was a very new card to me this is now the second time I have been robbed, at the time with a new PIN number, I was having trouble remembering my new PIN as I suffer from short-term memory and very frequent XXXX. Between the combination of it being new information for me to remember and having a XXXX XXXX, I wrote the PIN number down to remind me. I had my PIN number, as well as social security number and other important personal information, written down on a small piece of paper tucked away in my wallet, which once again, was stolen out of my possession. Another supporting argument to back up my defense is my debit card had no money on it at the time this had happened. Someone used my card without knowing the balance therefore overdrawing my account making it negative and causing unwanted fees. I was not using my debit card previously to this happening because I knew my account had no/extremely little money in it. I have talked to the fraud department as well as chase bank representatives several times, and they were not able to do anything for me except repeatedly tell me why my dispute was denied and apologize so I am writing today to begin the appeal process. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Opening an account

Checking or savings account: Checking account

Unable to open an account
Complaint: Chase Bank advertises on XXXX XXXX XXXX that one can open a checking and savings account online and receive a {$350.00} bonus. As the nearest Chase Bank location is a long way from my home, I tried several times to open an account online. I have had a Chase Bank credit card for over a decade, but am a new banking customer. The first time I tried to open an account, the web page asked if I'm an existing Chase customer. I clicked on 'yes ' and tried to log in but it did not recognize me as an existing customer. So I input all the required information and got a message " We were unable to open an account for you. '' I phoned Chase customer service and was told that my credit cad was in good standing, and they did not know why I couldn't open an account online. The rep suggested that I come into a branch, and I explained that there is no Chase bank a reasonable distance from my home. The second time I tried to open an account online, and when I input my information, the web site said some information was missing, but did not state what information. " It looks like you've missed some required information. Please try again. '' I had entered all the required information. Chase is engaging in false advertising by stating that it is possible to open an account online.

Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Complaint: Chase charges {$34.00} 3x a day if given the chance. I recently had an issue with overdraft fees being charged for pending transactions. The transactions did not stop showing pending until XX/XX/XXXX. They hit my account XX/XX/XXXX and is meant to be paid XX/XX/XXXX. For whatever reason, this time Chase decided they would charge me 2 overdraft fees. Each fee coresponded to a charge from XXXX XXXX that was pending on XX/XX/XXXX. I got paid around XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, yet Chase had already charged me TWO overdraft fees for PENDING transactions. I asked that they return the overdraft fees and they absolutely refused to do so because they reversed some others for unexpected charges in the last 365 days. Chase is a terrible bank who charges OD fees constantly even when stuff is pending. I wouldn't even care because typically it would be my mistake, but in this case the payments that hit my account are normal and occur EVERY SINGLE pay period, yet Chase has never charged me OD fees for them before. To recap : XXXX XXXX charges hit my account on XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX as PENDING I was paid XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX Chase charged me an overdraft fee for each XXXX XXXX transaction Charges did not come out of Pending until XX/XX/XXXX. These are charges that occur in my account every payday ( twice a month ) and I've never had issues before now. I would like for Chase to refund my OD fees, and the 2 prior to this incident if possible.
