Company closed your account
Complaint: I deposited an insurance claim check into my chase bank account on XX/XX/2019. We had asked the teller if we needed to do anything special since the Mortgage Company was on the check. She replied that all we had to do was endorse the check and there wouldn't be any problems. On XX/XX/2019 Chase had deposited the {$16000.00} check into my account but then put a fraud hold on it. They then closed my account with the money deposited into it. My insurance company XXXX said they could not get the money back in order to re-issue the check so we could get the proper endorsement from XXXX XXXX. Chase is stating that they can't release the funds without an endorsement even though they had already cashed the check into the account before they closed it. It has not been 2 months and our roof is still leaking because Chase and XXXX won't work together to get the money out of the account.

Problem using a debit or ATM card
Complaint: I was charged for something that I did not even ask for and XXXX is refusing to give me a refund.
The cashier made a mistake and did a money transfer ( which is not what I asked for ) instead of printing out two money orders.
She was embarrassed about not knowing how to do a refund or how to fix the situation, so she told the manager that I asked for a money transfer ( which I did not ).
I disputed it with my bank but they denied my claim due to " XXXX sent us an invoice for two money transfers ''. Even though I asked for money orders not tranfers, and I did not receive anything that I paid for that day at XXXX and my account is now negative over {$3000.00}.

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: An unauthorized charge of {$1800.00} was made on my credit card on XX/XX/XXXX. by a water/mold removal company in the XXXX , Florida area. My house sustained water damage in XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX was hired under a " fixed price '' contract of {$3000.00} to " dry out '' our house ( see attachment ). We paid the contract amount in two installments -- {$1800.00} on XXXX XXXX and {$1200.00} on XXXX XXXX. At the beginning of the work, the contractor and I agreed on the price of the service and both signed a contract specifying that price and the service to be provided. Without any communications from the contractor, on XX/XX/XXXX an additional charge ( see above ) appeared on my Chase credit card statement. I immediately contacted Chase and filed a formal dispute of the charge. Chase immediately credited my card for the charge. However, in a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, Chase informed me that they had decided the dispute in favor of the contractor. Chase asked me for a response to this decision and I immediately responded back that to them ( see attachment ), that the {$1800.00} charge was unauthorized and that the invoice submitted to Chase by the contractor was bogus. In addition to the fact that we had a " fixed price '' contract for the service, which was paid, we did not authorize any work, orally or in writing, other than what was specified in the contract. In late XXXX, XXXX, Chase reinstated the {$1800.00} charge on my credit card.
I discussed this issue with at least five individuals at Chase. The gist of their comments was that this charge was legitimate because I had given the contractor my credit card information and an invoice was provided by the contractor to Chase that totaled {$1800.00}. Again, no invoice was ever provided to me and no discussion ever took place between me and the contractor regarding this charge that was put on my credit card.
The issue of " credit card fraud '' was brought up by me to Chase representatives. More than one of these representatives said that fraud is only when someone steals your credit card information, implying that an " unauthorized '' use of the card is not fraud.
Like many credit card users, I was under the impression that a credit card company would defend its customer ( particularly someone like me who has had a Chase credit card for at least 30 years ) when someone makes an " unauthorized '' use of my credit card. I would never dispute a legitimate charge to my credit card. This charge, however, was never authorized by me and was based on a bogus invoice. It is interesting that during the dispute resolution process the contractor never gave Chase any details of what was provided for the {$3000.00} that was paid under the work contract, and apparently Chase never asked for that.
As an epilogue to my dealings with Chase, I went to Small Claim Court in Florida and received a Final Judgement against the contractor on XX/XX/XXXX. However, the Florida judicial process is a quagmire. I have spent over {$550.00} in court costs and have not received any of the {$1800.00} from the defendant, in over a year of going back and forth to court.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX someone accessed my mother 's Chase online login, through which she had access as a user of both my and my brother 's bank accounts. That person initiated a XXXX with XXXX transfer from my brother 's account into my account, then transferred {$1300.00} out of my account with XXXX to a person no one in my family is familiar with. Due to a low balance alert on my brother 's account we became aware of this issue almost immediately while the transaction was pending and called Chase, but it was not stopped. Then while my mother was on the phone filing a claim ( I could not as it was technically my mother 's login compromised ) they initiated another transfer for the remaining sum in the account, around {$250.00}, and this transfer was stopped as not authorized as they were on the phone with her. We have not heard any resolution on this claim despite multiple family members trying to speak with someone in the fraud department. They did as a courtesy make the funds available again, but pending resolution of the claim they may need to be returned.

Complaint: I received a call from XXXX XXXX Bank ( subsequent firms post Mergers & Acquisition activity ) in response to COMPLAINT ID XXXX Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau doesn't understand the problem.
I am NJ XXXX XXXX.
Chase Manhattan Bank ( and subsequent firms post Mergers & Acquisition activity ) allowed the dismissal of the debt.
The US Courts changed the bank. According to the US Courts who sent my foreclosure to XXXX 's Sale, the bank is now a firm owned by The XXXX XXXX XXXX.
The US Courts decided who my bank was. So, the call by Chase Manhattan Bank ( and subsequent firms post M & A activity ) was pointless.
The US Courts have ignored the federal banking regulator and are dictating to property owners who the bank will be.
During the entire foreclosure legal matter, the only ruling that was done was the change of bank.
The US courts didn't provide a motion to foreclosure or a motion for final judgment until after the Writ of Execution was submitted for the property.
My bank was Washington Mutual Bank. The FDIC closed the bank. The US Courts ruled Chase Manhattan Bank ( and subsequent banks post Mergers and Acquisitions ) was no longer my bank. A firm owned by The XXXX XXXX XXXX was now my bank.

Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Complaint: I have had my chase XXXX credit card for years now and have always had a credit limit of XXXX $ and have always been perfectly fine with that as it controls my spending habits and i know when i reach my limit as it cancels the transaction. But starting this last statement cycle my credit was changed and increased without any notice. In going to pay off my card this month my balance is XXXX which is far above my credit limit of XXXX my previous balance for this card on XX/XX/19 was XXXX which was paid including interest. In speaking to a chase representative they said that credit limits can vary depending on them but increasing a credit limit without any notification or approval by me is unacceptable and predatory.

Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2019, I attempted to open a checking and savings account with Chase Bank N.A. ( " Chase '' ) I initiated an initial deposit of XXXXUSD from a XXXX XXXX XXXX . account in my name via an electronic wire transfer.
On or about XX/XX/2019, the wire transfer posted on the XXXX XXXX account as completed. The funds appeared in the Chase account concurrently. On or about XX/XX/2019, I initiated a payment of approximately 2USD to a credit card in my name, which had been opened several years prior. After making this payment, Chase initiated a " ext transfer '' of all of the funds back to my XXXX XXXX account and as a result of the credit card payment the Chase account showed a negative balance of approximately XXXXUSD. I then re-initiated a transfer of XXXXUSD from my XXXX XXXX to the Chase account. I then received an email from Chase indicating that the transfer had been cancelled. Despite being told by Chase that this transfer was cancelled, XXXXUSD was removed from my XXXX XXXX account and posted into my Chase account once again. On XX/XX/2019, I contacted Chase via phone and was told that Chase had closed my account. I was given no explanation as to why my account was closed but was told I would be contacted by the executive office within two business days and would be provided with an explanation. I received no such call.
On XX/XX/2019, at approximately XXXX XXXX, I visited the Chase branch located on XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, New York XXXX. I indicated that I had contacted Chase via phone and was told that I would be contacted by a representative within two business days and had received no such call. I was asked by the retail banker to provide my XXXX XXXX statement reflecting the transfer from Chase on XX/XX/2019, which I showed to the retail banker. The retail banker escalated the complaint to the executive office and I was told that I would be contacted by an individual in the executive office who was investigating my case that afternoon. Once again I received no such call. I attempted to contact this person directly using her extension multiple times and was unable to reach her for several hours.
Again on XX/XX/2019, I visited the Chase branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, NY XXXX. I spoke with a retail banker who attempted to solve the issue. The retail banker was unable to solve the problem himself and had to consult the " back office. '' The retail banker was able to convey to me that the back office was unable to resolve the issue. The back office had closed the account without any explanation. The retail banker also indicated that he was unable to reach the individual in the executive office who had been investigating my case and would escalate her lack of responsiveness to her manager. I requested that my funds be returned immediately. The retail banker conveyed this to the back office and they responded that they would attempt to send the funds via USPS mail in 5 business days. I responded that this was unacceptable and that Chase had no right to hold my funds. I further explained that a mailed check was not an acceptable means of returning my funds given the amount at issue. Chase offered no other solution. I requested that Chase either issue a check at one of their branches, deposit the funds via electronic wire transfer back into my XXXX XXXX account, or send the check via a XXXX ( or similar courier service ) which would require a signature upon receipt. Chase refused all of these options. Chase has not confirmed in writing that they intend to send the check within 5 business days or that the check has indeed been mailed yet.

Can't close your account
Complaint: Opened Checking account with Chase Bank XX/XX/2018. Approx 6 months later was granted a Chase credit card with credit limit of {$2200.00}. Was not advised of subsequent credit check by Chase would lower my already low credit score. That credit check lowered my score by 14 points which I was unaware of until much later as I manually checked it thru Chase 's web. As a XXXX year old man I am not confident that I will ever bring it back up as a result Chase 's inquiry. Chase has In Effect blocked my ability to get credit anywhere else and will not deposit the credit of {$100.00} back into my checking account because I cancelled the credit card. That {$100.00} was a refund from XXXX which had the credit card as main means of payment for THEM of which I satisfied from my checking account. Chase has informed me that according to them they can not credit the XXXX account. I never requested it re-credited to XXXX and in fact requested it be credited to my checking account which is the source of the {$100.00} in the first place. They said the only way they would refund it is thru a check in the U.S. Mail. I informed them that I would not prefer the U.S. Mail for a check due to obvious reasons. I reapplied for them to reinstate that credit card so i can retrieve my money and have not received the positive response.
