Unauthorized transactions or other transaction problem

Money transfer, virtual currency, or money service: Mobile or digital wallet

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019, I checked my checking account which I opened with Chase Bank and found out it was about {$1200.00} short and I was left with $ XXXXI immediately checked every transaction that I have made. As I come to the XXXX quick pay section, a service that allows quick money transfer that is backed and implemented by Chase banking system, I noticed that there are two huge transactions of {$450.00} and {$820.00} that was made 2 days prior ( XX/XX/2019 ). The transactions were greater than anything I have ever sent with the exception of rent and were made to people Ive never even heard of. {$450.00} was sent to a person whose name is XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and the other {$820.00} to XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ). These emails were used to transfer money from my account to theirs. I immediately called the Chase Fraud Department at XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX - XXXX that same night. I talked to a Fraud Specialist/Inspector and was told that Chase would return my money within 5 business days. She also told me that my account was compromised, meaning whoever made the transactions may have had my login ID and account/routing numbers. In order to receive my money and to better protect me, Chase would transfer the money that I lost to a new account and I would need to be present at this Chase branch to open this new account as well as other preventative measures such as creating a new debit card, changing my log-in information, etc. on XX/XX/2019. To my relief, everything seemed to work out that day. However, that turned out to not be the case when Chase took back the money on XX/XX/2019. When I noticed that my money is gone again, I came to the Chase branch on XX/XX/2019 to meet with a banker and ask about the loss. He made several calls and was transferred through different specialists until one finally told him that my claim is denied since there is nothing wrong with the transaction. The banker mentioned that there should be a letter sent to me stating the specific reasons why my claim was denied and a number that I can call to resolve the issue. As I take a look at the letter, there was no specific reason other than a simple sentence : We found that the transaction was processed correctly or was authorized. Confused, I tried calling the number provided on the letter, which was XXXX. When I ask about the specific evidence that they have to deny my claim, the Inspector simply told me the same thing I saw on the letter, that There is nothing that they can do for me since the transaction was processed correctly or was authorized. The person on the phone at the time ( as well as the banker whom I talked to directly ) failed to guide me through the specific procedure that they must have, as the responsible party for implementing a wire transfer service ( XXXX ), for a situation when a customers log- in information is hacked, and there is no change that needs to be made for this hacker to infiltrate my account and withdraw my money. Such a procedure would have entails some proof that the authorization was made on a familiar device or email address. Whereas, in my case, the banks investigation was made up of a simple check on whether or not my log-in information was changed. At this point, it became a back and forth between the Inspector and I as I kept asking for specific details while the Inspector avoid my questions and repeat what she had told me several times before it eventually ended without a real resolve. Having to lose {$1200.00} all of a sudden and Chase keeps insisting that I was the one who authorized it instead of cooperating and aiding me as a victim of a fraud, I feel the need to go to another source in hope for help.

Getting a credit card

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Complaint: I am writing this follow-up complaint to my last complaint filed with Chase Bank N.A. The company sent a response letter to an address that again was fraudulent and used to obtain the accounts in the first place. Many years ago in XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX Chase opened and allowed a thief to open Credit cards, and 2 Checking and 2 Savings accounts in my name. This was an Identity Thief that opened these accounts. I advised Chase of such, and Provided Chase with a Law Enforcement Identity Theft Affidavit. Chase considered my documents a Joke, and didn't properly investigate the issue. I received a letter from Chase on my response with of course that fraudulent address again ( had to pull the letter from CFPB. ) Which stated that the Credit Card ( s ) Were closed due to Fraud and that a thief had in fact applied and obtained those products. As well as the checking and savings accounts. I have not applied for any Chase products, Nor did I ever obtain these physical cards and or any documentation related to the Credit cards or Checking account ( s ). These accounts have been blocked and removed from my credit reports and Chase sent a letter to me a few months ago to my actual correct address advising me that the Cards were charged off due to fraud. The whole purpose in my last complaint was because chase is not actually conducting investigations nor are they doing what they say they are on the letters they send to consumers. I have never banked with Chase, nor do I have a banking relationship or relationship with the bank at all. I was originally scheduled to be hired a few months, ago. I passed the background check no issues, when it got to their " Security Scan '' After they hired me. I find out that they stated I had some checking account that was closed with the bank and that I couldn't be hired. When I advised them that this was fraud again they did not care and nor did they investigate. If they had actually investigated they can clearly see my Drivers License address, Issued date, and Signature do not match the ID they have on file which was filed as Fraud. Additionally, I finally have corrected the Fraud off my Credit Report and Applied for my first ever credit card with Chase Application # XXXX. Chase pulled my credit and the Analyst recommended it for Approval. It went to some other analyst who Denied it with the reason being " Unsatisfactory Relationship with the bank '' " Too many applications for Credit ''. Now Again this unsatisfactory relationship stems from those Credit Cards that WERE FRAUD and OPENED BY A THIEF. In the past. I have a letter confirming those accounts were fraud and these accounts are not on my consumer credit reports, which I will be happy to provide to Chase as well. Chase has not worked with me to resolve any of the fraud. They continue to state, that these Checking accounts were authorized and when in fact they were not. I have been working to resolve the Identity theft for many years. Hence why I have a Fraud Alert on all 3 Credit Bureaus. Please review the documentation and if anything is requested I will be happy to comply with the investigation and provide further documentation on such crime.

Complaint: I received a strange letter from Chase Bank. It states : IMPORTANT : You or a joint owner DECLINE Chase Debit Card Coverage. This was pertaining to an alias account of Debit Card XXXX which is now account ending in XXXX. I never opened this account and again Chase Bank refuses to disclose who are the entities compromising my account without my authorization and then closing the accounts in my face. Then I received an email asking me to log into an alias account that then they say is closed to avoid getting paper statements. Like they are antagonizing me.

Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Complaint: I have tried calling the fraud investigator at XXXX extension XXXX on XX/XX/2019. I called also every day since then and this employees mailbox is full. I can not leave a message and I am prompted to call customer service. When I called customer service I was on hold for 30 minutes to be transferred to the fraud department. The employee in the fraud department informed me that chase would not do anything to help me get my money back. He informed me to contact customer service for XXXX XXXX to get my money back. He is so misinformed that when I have tried contact XXXX XXXX and they do not respond. For instance, when I email the financial department I do not get a response. They also have a D-rating with the XXXX XXXX XXXX and are not responding to complaints. XXXX : XXXX What bothers me is the arrogance that this employee in the fraud department was talking. He was not listening to me and at the end of our conversation instead of continuing to listen to me he transferred me to another department while I was still talking to him. This is so unprofessional. He also made more mistakes the merchandise was returned to XXXX XXXX. The merchandise was returned to XXXX XXXX and the tracking number is XXXX. XXXX XXXX informed me that I was going to be refunded on XXXX for this charge and they have not done this. I was promised a refund and they then took it back Since chase is a large bank I would hope that they would be able to hire people that are competent and can do their job. This clearly has not been the case. I am not okay with this because I have returned the merchandise to XXXX XXXX and they are charging me, Chase has done nothing to help me with this problem. Instead they have been more receptive to XXXX XXXX. To date I still have not heard back from chase regarding this matter. I have been only informed to call the fraud department. I just want to say that I am your customer XXXX XXXX is not. I think my bank would have the decency to call me and I would be able to reach the fraud investigator conducting the investigation. I will not be renewing this card and paying the annual fee. I am paying my annual fees and I am using your card with merchants which are also earning you money. Chase should be working for me to get my money bank not only responding to XXXX XXXX. This investigation and professionalism by Chase has been so egregious. To have such arrogant and incompetent employees has been frustrating and confusing. I think its important for a customer to have access to the person conducting the investigation. I would hope they do not put others customer through this and are more professional. What also has rubbed me the wrong was is why chase is not asking me to fill out an affidavit or provide them with a police report. If they are not sure if the charge is not valid they should have asked for this information. Lying on a police report is a class A misdemeanor. You should have asked for a police report before making a decision. The importance of doing that is discussed here https : XXXX What also worries me is I did not physically make that purchase and it was just charged to my credit card. I don't know how my bank can be okay with a charge being applied to my credit card when I did not make a purchase for that charge. So Chase is expecting me to pay {$120.00} dollars for no merchandise which is unacceptable. This is why I am mad they are forcing me to pay for an item that I never bought and there is an unauthorized charge. The last thing is I do not live at XXXX XXXX XXXX anymore. I have called you guys to inform you of this and updated my credit card address. This order was recharged to an address of XXXX XXXX XXXX not XXXX XXXX XXXX. I live on XXXX XXXX XXXX and the person in the fraud department was saying that this was the address that was charged to XXXX XXXX XXXX which is a previous address. When I opened the account the XXXX XXXX XXXX address is there because that is what the business address is registered to. If this is also believed not to be a fraud case then chase should be making an effort to dispute this charge. Please refund me my money

Getting a credit card

Credit card or prepaid card: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Application denied
Complaint: I applied and was approved for a Chase Disney Credit Card in XX/XX/2019. Three weeks ago I received a letter from Chase Credit Card Services informing me that my card was cancelled with no reason or explanation as to the cancellations. I carried no balance on the credit card at the time of the letter an promptly paid off all charges when due. My credit score is above 850 and I have numerous cards from other banks and credit card issuing companies. I sent a letter to Chase Credit Card offices in XXXX Ohio asking for a written explanation for the cancellation. Last week, I received a call from Chase offering no real explanation as to why the card was cancelled. When I pressed for an explanation, the agent abruptly hung up on me. I still have no explanation or reason, but this could harm my excellent credit rating. Credit card companies should be forced to tell you why your card was cancelled and not be so evasive and underhanded. I would like the government to look into this matter. Thank you.
