Complaint: XXXX I was exiting a apartment complex XXXX XXXX. At the day of move out the manager did not give me anything to sign. She stated she would mail me any paper work and I thought she would refund any difference in the security deposit if they needed some repair living their 2 yrs. ( XXXX XXXX XXXX was the prop mgmt ) I left it very clean and they verbally stated it looked great. I had a federal suit for fraud against XXXX and XXXX for rent issues and denying reasonable accomidation. This case is filed in XXXX state. XXXX began having IQ DATA International phone and harass me by phone in XXXX and XXXX XXXX. IQ Data placed a fake debt with all XXXX CBs. I disputed it then and got all XXXX to remove it in XXXX. Now XXXX IQ Data is at me again for the very same thing and now they pushed the {$300.00} to {$810.00} they never had a judge sign anything. they have not been following the FDCPA or FCRA in an way in relation to this fake but very serious issue. I have a judges ruling from that federal case stating in fact XXXX did violate my rights to XXXX. So I am asking the CFPB to ask IQ DATA to produce the proof that they are not violating my rights under FDCPA and FCRA. Thank you for your help

Complaint: I receive calls for a debt that I do not recognize and do not think is mine. When I ask on the phone for more information on the debt, for example origin, amount, or name and address of the collection agency on the phone with me, I am stone walled. When I ask for written proof of the debt, I have received nothing. But these calls persist. Every few months there will be a flurry of activity and calls, then it will go silent. This has been going on for about 8 years now. Ca n't I make these calls stop?

Complaint: On XX/XX/2017 I opened a letter from IQ Data Collection in regards to an amount they are claiming I owe to an apartment of some sort that judging by the address I have never lived at. I asked the debt collector to provide me with more information and she refused saying she talked to me on the phone and I know it 's my debt. I have no idea who this lady has talked to and what she is talking about. She proceeds to overall me and say that I lived there. The conversation got aggressive and I ended the phone call. Still concerned that they are trying to hold me accountable for a debt I did n't make I ask to send me information and she began to refuse. This company is fraudulent and trying to bully money out of me for something I did not do and then refuses to show me proof.

Complaint: This complaint is directed against the apartment community XXXX, located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, VA XXXX, and operated by XXXX. I recently terminated my lease due to an out-of-state job offer. I gave the required 60 days ' notice in person XX/XX/2016, but the leasing agent ( intentionally I believe ) failed to inform me that written notice was needed. When I attempted to end the lease, and pay the buyout fee of two months ' rent ( {$3100.00} ) after 60 days on XX/XX/2016, they falsely claimed I had never given them notice. While it 's clear to me that this is nothing more than an attempt on their part to collect more rent than they were owed, I have no legal recourse in this specific aspect of my complaint due to the lack of written notice. However, they have attempted to bill me for a flat 60 days of rent on top of the termination fee ( 2 months ' base rent ), despite the fact that the apartment was rented during this " penalty period '' of 4 months ; in effect collecting rent from both me and the new tenant, who I believe took possession of the apartment around XX/XX/2016 ( the time it was de-listed from their website ). In their most recent communication to me, they claimed that the apartment was " held '' until XX/XX/2016, but I find this hard to believe as their standard policy is to only hold apartments currently available ( as it was at the time ) for 7 days. Regardless of the date it was rented, by their own admission, they are charging double rent between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2016. Virginia state law, which limits landlords to recovering only actual damages, forbids this. Additionally, it requires that the security deposit is returned upon vacating the premises, which they have also failed to do. Section XXXX of the lease contract [ attached as XXXX XXXX Lease XXXX ] clearly states that, in the event of an early termination of the lease, a reletting charge of {$1500.00} per month is due up until a new tenant takes possession of the apartment, and acknowledges the existence of the aforementioned law : " By law, we are limited to the recovery of actual damages. ". As part of my final attempt to remedy this situation, my attorney mailed a settlement offer of {$3100.00} on XX/XX/2016 ( equivalent to two months ' rent ) [ attached as WheelhouseSettlementOffer.pdf ], to which they did not respond. They instead sent me directly to collections for {$5000.00} - four months ' rent, with an additional " cleaning fee '' that they did not provide receipts for or any proof of despite repeated requests. As part of my final attempt to remedy this situation, my attorney mailed a settlement offer of {$3100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( equivalent to two months ' rent ) [ attached to this complaint as XXXX ], to which they did not respond. They instead sent me directly to collections for {$5000.00} - four months ' rent, with an additional " cleaning fee '' that they did not provide receipts for or any proof of despite repeated requests. Throughout this process, XXXX staff have demonstrated combative, aggressive, and unreasonable behavior. Complaint: I moved from an apartment and was told I owed money on a carpet clean. This was sent to collections to a company called IQ Data. They called me, and asked how much could i pay. I told them i dont have any money to pay it. They asked for a card to keep interest from going on the account so i gave them my credit card and told them to call me on friday ( this started on a Monday ) to see if i have the money for it. I spoke to a woman. On Wednesday my phone kept ringing at work so i answered it, I told the guy I told the woman I was gon na have them call on friday to see if? I had the money to pay the {$50.00} they wanted to do. I told him I didnt have the money for it. He kept calling me all that day and thursday and left me a voice mail message on thursday saying I refused to pay. I woke up on that friday and went to a gas station on my way to work to only find my credit card was charged {$50.00}. I called the company and spoke to a manager. He refused to give me my money back claiming I authorized the charge. This I did not do i would not do so if i am not sure if i can pay it. The manager spoke to me very disrespectfully. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. They were suppose to provide this proof they claim within 15 calender days and according to my credit card company they did not. Today is XX/XX/2017 and I was called again from the IQ Data company stating they tried to run my card again and it was declined I told him I never said they could! I called again soon as I arrived earlier at work and spoke to their manager again, only this time he spoke awful to me. Saying I charged back the card and I got my money back claiming hes going to take it to " the next level '' and refuses to tell me what he meant by saying that. I also requested this proof of my authorization he claimed I did from the previous charge and he said " I can give it to you, but, I wont ''. I told him legally I should be entitled to this and he kept saying what he said to me speaking to me in a manor as if he was talking down to me. He was extremely disrespectful to me. Threatening me with legal action because I did a charge back on a charge to my credit card I do not ever recall doing so and refusing to provide the poof to me. I have never been talked to before by a company specially a manager like IQ Data. I got off the phone XXXX. I have never been threaten or talked to like that before.
