Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Other debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: On or around XX/XX/XXXX, I ( SS # XXXX ) and my now wife XXXX XXXX ( SS # XXXX ) received notification from my credit monitoring system that a collections account form Hunter Warfield was reported on my credit profile in the amount of {$160.00}. The original creditor is XXXX at XXXX XXXX which is my primary residence. I contacted to property manager in person and via email about this debt because our rent has not been late, nor have we carried a balance and this was our first time learning about this debt. The property manager explained that the balance was from the unit we transferred from. ( we moved from unit XXXX to XXXX earlier this year ) We see the apartment staff at least once a week and we pay our rent via their online portal and we were never notified of this debt. We asked the manager to remove the debt from our credit because we never were given notice of the balance due prior to being sent to collections. To date this item still remains on our credit. We don't have an issue paying the amount, our only concern is paying the amount and it appearing on our credit profile as a paid collection when it shouldn't have ever been placed in collections.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: I was contacted by Hunter Warfield Inc. about a non existent debt. I requested validation of the alleged debt in accordance with 15 USC section 1692g of the FDCPA. What they sent me was not a validation of the debt. I had previously disputed the debt. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a certified letter disputing the validity of the information they forwarded to me to validate the debt. They did not respond and proceeded to send a derogatory report to the credit bureau. Hunter Warfield, as a debt collector works on contingency as such they are attempting to strong arm me to pay money I don't owe.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: I do not know

Debt is not yours
Complaint: I sent a certified letter on XX/XX/2019 to Hunter Warfield to validate a debt they have posted my credit reports from XXXX XXXX. I heard back from Hunter Warfiled on XX/XX/2019. I contacted them again via certified mail on XX/XX/2019 asking them remove the unverified items while they conducted their research, as continuing to post this item unverified is still a means of collection. I've sent my final certified letter to them today, again asking them for their source of validation. In the meantime, I've been conducting my own research with the other consumer reporting agencies. XXXX had this same item posted saying my deposit was returned, but then I also had balance when I moved out. That doesn't even make any sense. Attached are the results of that dispute from XXXX.

Debt was paid
Complaint: After I moved out from XXXX XXXX in XXXX, FL, I paid all the monies I owed them, including the alleged amount they reported to the Credit Reporting Agencies ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ) for the amount of {$420.00}. Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Other debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: We originally tried to contact hunter Warfield by mail in XXXX of 2019 by mail. I have receipt of delivery but never received any information from them. After waiting 30 days to receive a letter from them I assumed they would not mail an invoice. This was listed on my XXXX credit report and I filed with XXXX to validate the debt. XXXX did validate the debt and said it was owed. I then tried to contact Hunter Warfield by phone to ask them to send an invoice about the debt. Hunter Warfield stated they would not send us an invoice until the debt was paid. This seemed odd to me but we were trying to get our home refinanced at the time so we were between a rock and a hard spot. I paid this debt by credit card so I could receive a receipt. Even after payment they made me wait for a 24 hour waiting period before they would send receipt of payment.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: I do not know

Debt was result of identity theft
Complaint: Back in XX/XX/2019, in need of a new car, I visited the dealership to see if I could get some sort of financing. The sales rep came back with a twisted face and a horrible credit report in his hands saying that my score was XXXX!!!!! The last time I had checked my score it was in the mid 600s and I didnt recognize alot of the information that was in my credit report like collection accounts, credit cards, addresses, and over 80 inquiries! I immediately knew someone had gotten my information and I called all 3 credit bureaus and had a fraud alert placed. I tried disputing with the credit bureaus about all the misinformation, some things were removed. HUNTER WARFIELD refused to move these two collection accounts ( XXXX XXXX XXXX - ACCT # XXXX ) & ( XXXX XXXX - XXXX ) and these accounts are almost {$8000.00} and {$9000.00} debt that does not belong to me and is extremely affecting my credit. After advising the credit bureaus that these collections are identity theft and I myself did not enter any contract with anyone to owe these amounts. By XX/XX/XXXX all credit bureaus had contacted me back saying HUNTER WARFIELD had verified the information as accurate! I contacted them immediately asking to provide them a police report and identity theft report and they refused saying I could only add a statement because they have already verified. I ask them to provide me with them information they used to verify the account belonged to me and they told me to contact the company who is requesting the debt! HUNTER WARFIELD IS REPORTING FALSE INFORMATION TO MY CREDIT REPORT AND REFUSES TO PROVE THESE ACCOUNTS BELONG TO ME! I believe their actions are unlawful, shameful, vile and without merit. With that being said, it is distasteful for them to throw a curb ball of this magnitude, especially when they continuously REFUSE to Validate the Debt which would prove that they have proper ownership of the debt. Therefore, I believe the possible violations are as follow ( s ) but not limited to : 1. The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) 15 U.S.C. 1681b ( c ) : Transactions Not initiated by Consumer. 2. 607. Compliance procedures : ( b ) Accuracy of report ( 15 U.S. Code 1681e ) 3. 616. Civil liability for willful noncompliance ( 15 U.S.C. 1681n ) 4. 616. Civil liability for negligent noncompliance ( 15 U.S.C. 1681o ) 5. Continued to attempt to collect a disputed debt is a FDCPA violation according to FDCPA-Validation of Debts 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( b ) 6. 15 U.S.C. 1692e False or misleading representations 7. 15 U.S.C. 1692f Unfair practices 8. FDCPA-Validation of Debts 15 U.S.C. 1692g 9. Extortion 10. FRAUD by knowingly attempting to execute, any trickery scheme with the intent to defraud a consumer/ debtor. 11. 15 U.S. Code 1681i ( B ) ( i ) ( ii ) and ( iii ) Requirements relating to reinsertion of previously deleted material 12. The debt collector shall cease all collection once the item has been disputed according to FDCPA-Validation of Debts 15 U.S.C. 1692g ( b ) 16.
