Complaint: I received a statement or invoice from a collection agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) that they were trying to collect a debt from Huntington Bank for the amount of {$310.00}. I thought it was referring to my overdraft on my account especially when I looked at the dates and they were around the end of the month, XX/XX/XXXX. I thought that was rather swift to send my overdraft to collections before the month was even out. Just now I received a call from said collections agency referring to said debt. I was confused at first then upset because I believe things like this can destroy a person 's credit and I tend to think that they are disproportionately done to selected Groups of people. Do that keeps them paying higher interest rates or aid in denying them credit. Anyway I filed a claim a while back because for some reason they didn't close an account when I created a new account and when the following month came I had a balance of - {$5.00}. When I authorized them to transfer that amount to create a zero balance they decided to take {$320.00} instead because the next day there was a payment of {$300.00} that hit the account. After speaking with someone from the bank they they said they would correct the problem but the payment was already made. As a good faith effort the return some bank fees. Now here we are again and they are telling me I owe them money. Why does happen right when I apply for a loan for a car?? Maybe I'm not considered a good customer because I don't have thousands saved in the bank. I would be interested to know if this a common practice and do I need to get other agencies in to find out what is going on. All I know is that this can't continue.

Complaint: This midXX/XX/2019, I was alerted by a phone call from a debt collector who told me that I had a delinquent account with Huntington, National Bank. I do not now, nor have I ever banked with Huntington, National Bank. However, an account has been opened in my name with Huntington. It should be noted that Huntington is a mid-western bank, but I live in South Florida with no connection to the Mid-west, whatsoever. Immediately, I called them and spoke with a representative of Huntingtons fraud and recovery division. I was and am highly concerned because I'd previously placed a fraud alert with the credit agencies. I know that this type of alert requires banks to obtain identity verification by a heightened standard of due diligence, which generally requires them to make verbal contact. However, no one from Huntington contacted me when they opened this fraudulent account. On XX/XX/2019, I received a packet ostensibly from Huntington via United States Postal Service. Inside the packet was an unsigned letter from Huntingtons fraud and recovery division requesting a copy of a police report, a utility bill, and a copy of my personal government issued identification, as well as an uncompleted form entitled identity theft affidavit. I made an appointment and met with the XXXX XXXX Police Department to file a complaint on XX/XX/2019. The complaint was taken by Officer XXXX XXXX who issued me complaint number XXXX and informed me that formal reports are not attempted until a complaint is taken and a preliminary investigation is conducted. This caused me more concern, because Huntingtons letter demanded a copy of a police report issued, which I have no way of acquiring at this time. Additionally, Im very concerned about supplying this bank, which has already opened a fraudulent account in my name despite a fraud alert, with a copy of my personal information such as my drivers license and a utility bill. Ive read about the unscrupulous fraudulent account practices of XXXX XXXX and other banks in the news. I should note that Huntington 's letter requested that I include the fraudulent account number on the identity theft affidavit, which I'd have had no conceivable way of knowing. When I subsequently called Huntington to request the account number, they refused me and suggested I stop by one of their branches. Again, all of their branches are in the mid-west and I live in South Florida ( and they were informed of this ). Then yesterday, XX/XX/2019, I received a bill for this fraudulent account, which so happened to include the fraudulent account number that Huntington previously refused to supply me. Please find included with this complaint ( If I am able to attach it ), a copy of my police complaint number, as well as the letter, affidavit, and bill from Huntington. I am resolute in pressing this matter as a formal complaint against Huntington, National Bank. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX XXXX

Complaint: The information that they provided to me is wrong. They never told me how they came up with the findings or how they think that I am not a victim of identity theft. The delinquent charges of {$480.00} are because I was a victim of identity theft and they continue to charge me for an account that was affected and misused because of identity theft. I have been a victim of identity theft and if they keep on charging me for an account that isn't mine. I will be suing the Huntington National Bank. This is a warning of my plan to sue, if they don't correct this information, I will be suing them for not doing a thorough investigation and breaking down where they found their finding on how my account isn't a victim of identity theft.

Complaint: I called last month which was XXXX about not being able to afford my car payment for the month. I spoke to a women who said all I had to do was pay {$270.00} and that would be fine. Here I guess the check bounced but I did not find out about that until yesterday when I received a text from my loan saying to call them. I called and they expect me to pay {$270.00} for last month and my car payment for this month. I never got a voicemail from them or and email stating that my check did not go through or I would have made another payment last month for the {$270.00}. I cant believe they just contacted me yesterday about this! I have told this company over XXXX over again that my son is in the hospital with XXXX XXXX, he is only XXXX years old. They do not care about what I am going through they just care about getting their money. I can only afford my car payment this month and not the {$270.00}. My family can barely afford food at this point in time and Huntington has no sympathy for me. We are trying to sell the car because we can no longer afford it. So we are trying whatever we can do to get rid of this vehicle

Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 I filed a credit card dispute through my bank for a $XXXX purchase of mentoring services. After filing the dispute, the merchant providing the mentoring services contacted me and we settled on a half refund. I provided the written agreement to the bank to support this claim. A few weeks later the bank informed me that they were deciding in favor of the merchant, claiming to have never received documentation from me regarding the written agreement. I am currently settling the dispute with the merchant in court, but we are unable to move forward because the bank has somehow lost the $XXXX since the dispute was opened back in XX/XX/XXXX.The bank put a $XXXX credit in my account on XX/XX/XXXX, shortly after I initially filed the dispute. On XX/XX/XXXX, the bank took the $XXXX back out of my account and sent me a letter in the mail a few days later explaining their decision. The merchant is providing documentation from his accountants to support that Huntington Bank did not give him the $XXXX back on XX/XX/XXXX when it was taken out of my account. Several weeks have gone by and despite multiple requests, Huntington has failed to provide any proof that they did in fact put the funds back in the merchant's account. The bank has lost track of this money and is not doing anything to figure out what happened to it. They completely mishandled this dispute.

Complaint: I regularly received solicitation from Huntington Bank for opening an account. They always ask for direct deposit. On XX/XX/2018 I received an offer to open an account with them and deposit at least {$1000.00} within 60 days and I would receive a {$200.00} bonus in my account. Well after I made the deposits I never received my bonus. I contacted the company service line and I was told that my account did not qualify. The rep said that I must have direct deposit of {$1000.00}. This was absolutely not true. The offer clearly stated deposit not direct deposit. I had been receiving offers from them and this one did not mention direct deposit. I feel like Huntington Bank defrauded me into getting a checking account with them. They used false advertising and defrauded me into doing business with them. I have attached a copy of the ad. At the bottom it clearly states no direct deposit needed.

Complaint: Huntington bank is the most negligent, cold, bankers in the country!! They have locked my debit card twice in 3 days!! And refuse to call me back on this! I had to order somthing on line, and it was blocked! They did not disclose this to me through a message on my phone at all! I had to go out, use gas, buy a pre paid mastercard which has a fee, and they refuse to pay for the fee!! I absolutley can not trust them anymore, and will be finding another bank. I have been with them for over a year, and now this is happening. I can not ever know when i can use the debit card?????????????? NOT!! They can go fly a kite! They are actually commiting fraud on my account, and locking all of my money in it!! Their executive office had better return calls, and they arent!! And they better pay for all the fees I had to pay to buy a pre-paid mastercard.
