Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: All student loans were consolidated back in XX/XX/2017. Several still appear on my credit reports ; erroneous to outstanding instead of consolidated. I have made payments for OVER Two ( 2 ) Years, CONSISTENTLY, Every Single Month - Yet the agencies and Great Lakes Student Loan servicing still shows me INCORRECTLY in Default! I Further REFUSE to sign their treacherous paperwork reaffirming this incredible, swelling debt beyond payday loan shark rates. It is one thing to pay for my XXXX school education in finance, it is another to pay at rates beyond that of any mortgage, car, credit card or auto loan which would legally be allowed to be refinanced, let alone with CORRECT information! PROPER reporting is required! Show the on-time payments EVERY SINGLE MONTH!

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: I have set up my Great Lakes account to pay my principal after the monthly minimum payment. I set it up to directly go 100 % towards my token with the lowest amount. I called and got the run around on how to do this. I have started the process 3 months ago and my account is still not being allocated as I would like. I still have my excess payment paying interest after I called and switched it online to have 100 percent go directly towards my principal. They have it set up as paid ahead and I told them I do not want this I would like 100 percent to go towards my principal. They told me this can not be done. I know this can be done because I did this with my other student loans. I am also getting different answers on different days I call. The next step will be writing them a letter I got off of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that states in writing how I want my excess payment allocated.

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I noticed a payment on my account in the sum of {$6200.00}. Immediately I reached out to Great Lakes to figure out what this payment was about. I customer service agent I spoke with told me it was a payment made by USDA on my loan and it was an actual payment and was correctly applied to my account. Then on XX/XX/XXXX, almost a year later, I receive a call from Great Lakes informing my that was account was past due by 351 days and I owe them {$1100.00} immediately and another {$1400.00} by XX/XX/XXXX to get my account current. I asked them when this came about they informed me that the payment applied to my account was applied incorrectly, and removed from my account. I asked the account specialist I spoke with and was informed my statements were correct, but if they were correct then the payments should still be on my account but they can't give me an answer beside the fact it was applied wrong account.

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account information incorrect
Complaint: I started going to XXXX in XXXX Colorado XX/XX/2013. I took out 2 loans because my financial aid wouldn't cover it all. One loan was for {$3000.00} and the other was for XXXX. The only money I received in my hand was a check for XXXX because they said that isn't the way they do things. Now on my credit report years later I have a loan for {$5500.00} with one acct number that was issued on XX/XX/13 as a student loan, and 2 direct loans with the same acct number for XXXX and XXXX, which include interest. Those 2 loans are probably the right loans. If you add the other 2 loans together, they add up to the same amount of the loan that I am unaware of. Please help me. This isn't right and to boot I have another new loan that is on my credit report from another school. How can the government just hand out student loans to people without verifying their identity?

Student loan: Federal student loan servicing

Received bad information about your loan
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I called Great Lakes and I asked them for a " Master Promissory Note '' ( with my signature ) Pertaining to all Loans that they had in there office. I was sent the document named ( XXXX XXXX ), and it is attached to this complaint. I have also included a screenshot of the email it was attached to. There are three Promissory Notes attached to this document. On page one, the " Master Promissory Note '' does NOT bare MY signature! Also, the document was also typed and could have been replicated at anytime. The Second " Master Promissory Note '' on page 10, also does NOT bare MY signature! The document was also typed and could have been replicated at anytime. The Third Promissory Note on page 13, is the SAME " Master Promissory Note '' that XXXX attached to a complaint response, that I made to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Response date was on XX/XX/2019 with attachment. How is it, that The SAME " Master Promissory Note '' is used for an entirely different loan? Please explain I recently found out that Great Lakes, XXXX and XXXX are all in the same. I fear that these documents that Great Lakes, XXXX and XXXX are submitting to the Credit Bureau 's and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as proof of loans, are being fabricated! Any document sent from any of these companies should be questioned in GREAT details and should not be trusted at first sight. I have expressed my concerns to Great Lakes, XXXX and XXXX and ALL they keep saying is PAY, PAY, PAY!! AND how wrong I am

Incorrect information on your report

Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports: Credit reporting

Account status incorrect
Complaint: This company continues to report negative and derogatory information disregarding the fact that I already had the account transferred and rehabilitated by XXXX in which I am paying XXXX a month due to me being on XXXX. They continue to falsely abuse the law and continuously disregard any information and mail that I send them. I have called them on the phone and they ask me to send a letter with information they are the ones illegally reporting the information continuously to XXXX and XXXX. XX/XX/2012 was the date the loan was open I was advised the statue of limitations doesn't apply to certain loans but it is already been 7 years reporting negative. The point I am trying to make is that I already did my part by rehabilitating the loan and allowing it to get transferred to XXXX it was with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I did what they told me to do so I can get it removed from my credit and the only one that is blatantly disregarding the law is Great Lakes XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, WI XXXX they continue to report the information and they already know that it should not be reported due to the fact that I have rehabilitated my loan. The keep finding ways to continue reporting information that is not true and is incorrect. I'm getting to the point where I want to sue them in open court for not following the law and also not caring it is also keeping me from getting a home from my family in which they do not care. Mental anguish is something that I am affected by this horrible situation and I intend to follow suit if it is not removed within the next 7 days. I am not going to allow this to happen to me by this company.

Struggling to repay your loan

Student loan: Private student loan

Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Complaint: I graduated from XXXX school and immediately consolidated my XXXX and XXXX loans through XXXX who then sold to Great Lakes and began making payments. I applied yearly for the income-driven repayment plan and was approved. I made payments on time every month through direct deposit for 7 years. My loans were never in deferment. I recently discovered that after 25 years my loans will not be forgiven because of making greater than XXXX a year. I have paid XXXX over the past 7 years and my principle is still the same as when I started and I've accumulated XXXX in unpaid interest. I feel misguided and taken advantage of. Essentially its been a 7 year and XXXX loss for me. I was under the understanding that if I make my income driven payments on time for 25 years that my student loans would be forgiven. Since discovering this I've refinanced through XXXX at a lower interest rate. I had to combine my principle to the XXXX of interest and now I'm paying $ XXXX/month for 20 years. That XXXX of interest is now collecting interest again through my new plan. I didn't know that it was legal for a company to have you yearly apply for income-driven, be approved, and given a monthly payment that didn't cover the cost of interest. What would have happened after 25 years of payment when I thought my loans would be forgiven? Essentially I'd have the same principle I started with and XXXX of unpaid interest. I am so discouraged, disappointed in the guidance or lack thereof provided by Great Lakes.

Don't agree with the fees charged
Complaint: In an attempt to be responsible for my student loan debt, I enrolled in autopay with Great Lakes. A withdrawal was attempted from my account and I was charged an NSF. I understood that it was a consequence of the failed attempt and immediately scheduled payment so that the charges would not occur again. I contacted the company and informed them that I had made payment and was concerned about being charged again. I was told that regardless I would be charged two more times as a result of the missed payment. Great Lakes took the money I gave them for the monthly payment and continuously attempted to charge my account after I told them that I only wanted to pay the month 's payment that was due. This resulted in nearly {$90.00} in NSF fees being taken from my checking account. They have been unwilling to send me anything other than copies of their terms and conditions in response to my inquiry. The terms and conditions do not mention charging after being paid the amount due. It inconvenienced me to the point that I had to use another account to pay my bills and ask my financial institution to block them so that they couldnt charge my account. I am disappointed and upset that they were assigned to me as my loan servicer with such poor and apathetic customer service. I have attempted to resolve this issue with them throuh the XXXX XXXX XXXX, but they sent this in response to my complaint : " Thank you for following up with us on behalf of Ms. XXXX XXXX. We understand Ms. XXXX would like to be reimbursed the fees assessed by her financial institution. Please know, Great Lakes has made every reasonable effort to address Ms. XXXX request for reimbursement. Although we acknowledge she disagrees with the determination, Great Lakes position on Ms. XXXX request will remain unchanged. Ms. XXXX is responsible for the fees assessed by her financial institution in accordance with the terms and conditions of electronic payments toward her account. If Ms. XXXX has additional questions or concerns for Great Lakes, she may contact our Borrower Services Department by telephone at ( XXXX ) XXXX-XXXX ( Please note, some calls may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes ), by email at XXXX, or by mail at the address below ... Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: On XX/XX/19 made an excess payment on my student loans. This payment was not applied to the loans with the highest interest rates despite my account settings being set to do so, and despite the loan service 's website claiming that excess payments are applied to the highest interest rate by default. They ignored both my preferences and their own guidelines. This is not the first time I have had this issue.
