Written notification about debt

Debt collection: Medical debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: Please see attached. I was first contacted in relation to an alleged debt owed for medical services by a collection agency named First Federal Credit Control , Inc. on XX/XX/XXXX After disputing the validity and requesting validation of the alleged debt, First Federal Credit Control , Inc. provided me an incomplete invoice. ( two pages of a 32 page document i.e Page 1 and Page 3 ). During the period I had disputed the validity of the Debt, First Federal Credit Control , Inc. published a derogatory collection account on my credit report. Thus causing my credit score to drop. I sent a 2nd request to the collection company indicating that they had violated my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and demanded the the negative report to my credit report be removed and that they provide me with the account validation I had originally requested. To date, I have received nothing and the derogatory remark remains on my credit report. Then onXX/XX/XXXX, I receive a NEW collection letter dated XX/XX/XXXXfrom what appears to be a second attempt at collecting this alleged debt, this time from an attorney acting as a debt collector. I am being harassed for payment of a medical bill that neither the doctor 's office can not validate, nor the original collection agency, because the bill was paid by my two ( 2 ) medical insurance providers previously.

Debt collection: Medical debt

Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Complaint: I received a correspondence from First Federal Credit Control, XXXX dated XXXX XXXX, XXXX about an alleged debt. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I sent First Federal Credit Control a certified letter requesting valididation of the alleged debt, and demanding that they only contact me via mail to my current mailing address. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX at XXXX, I received a call from their representative inquiring on how I want to make the payment on the account. I politely informed her that I sent them a validation letter, and also demaded that they do not contact me via telephone. The representative rudely told me that I owe the company, I must pay or it will be reported to the credit reporting agencies. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I received an alert from XXXX stating that First Federal Credit Control added a collection account to my credit report. I made it very clear in my letter to provide me validation of the alleged debt, to not contact me via email, and also requested that they do not report this alleged debt until they validate this alleged debt. I still have not received any responses from my correspondence nor any documents validating this alleged debt.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Medical debt

Debt is not yours
Complaint: This is a debt to which I have no knowledge. The alleged debt was originally owned by another collection agency who XXXX the debt upon my dispute. It was removed from my credit file with both Transunion and Equifax. Apparently, First Federal Credit Control has purchased the XXXX debt and has now renewed the collection with the credit reporting agencies. I believe this act is illegal. The alleged debt was already disputed by me and XXXX by the former collection agency. A new collection agency should not be able to purchase a XXXX or already successfully disputed debt and then renew collection effort notice with reporting agencies as this could be an ongoing and never ending saga for the consumer. Once settled or successfully challenged, the debt should be non-reportable.

Attempts to collect debt not owed

Debt collection: Medical debt

Debt was paid
Complaint: I paid in full 2 medical debts for First Federal Credit Control in XXXX of 2016. Proof of payment is available. I was assured the debt would be closed and removed from my credit bureau. The accounts were not closed, and after contacting the debt collector they stated they were having communication issues with XXXX. I have attempted to call numerous times to resolve this with no help. I now have two more debts with this company that I was unaware of, one for {$38.00} and one for {$120.00}. Which I want to pay but I will not pay another debt with them until they resolve the first issue which is still impacting my credit.

Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Debt collection: Medical debt

Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX, I received a phone call from First Federal Credit Control , a XXXX XXXX , for a medical debt owed in the amount of {$540.00} from an unpaid bill in XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I requested a settlement of the matter. XXXX XXXX refused and yelled at me that I needed to pay it in full or she did n't care if it stayed on my credit report. She continued to be aggressive in her tone and inappropriately threatened that she will not remove this debt off of my report until I paid it. I calmly explained, XXXX I am trying to settle this with you and I am not refusing to pay, but I would like to settle it. She continued to yell " your only option is to pay it in full or make payments and I do not care if this stays on your credit report, pshh '' She continued to huff and puff at me while I was very calm with her. She yelled " ya know what XXXX, you are not going to settle this obviously '' and she hung up on me. I called her back at XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX answered the call. I said, " XXXX, this is XXXX and I do n't understand why you hung up on me '' she yelled XXXX, I am the supervisor here and nobody is going to tell you any different, now do not call back!! '' At that point, I took the initiative and contact the original creditor and explained to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that I want to pay the debt, but the credit agency refuses. XXXX, with XXXX XXXX accepted my {$300.00} payment towards the balance and stated she would report the behavior of the agency.

Communication tactics

Debt collection: Medical debt

Used obscene, profane, or other abusive language
Complaint: I have recently encountered a collection agency by the name of First Fed Credit Control on XX/XX/XXXX that I believe belittled, berated me and downright disrespected me. I happen to be checking my credit report because I am in the process of trying to buy a home and I noticed my score dropped due to this collection agency so I called them to see if I could get this matter resolved. So, I informed the representative XXXX XXXX that I noticed this on my report and that I was in the process of trying to buy a house and wanted to get this resolved told her the bill was from XXXX and I had no knowledge of it but I did want to get things resolved, I asked the representative for a settlement she then stated to me it appears I am not in a hardship because I am buying a house and that doesnt seem like a hardship to her. I then went on to tell the rep I could not afford the whole thing I am XXXX and a single mom of XXXX and that I can hardly afford the house and that I was getting down payment assistance so I did not have the funds. She then said how dare I call them asking for a settlement and that I should pay my bills we then begin to exchange words because at this point I felt like she was just being rude. I said I was going to talk to my lawyer about this because I felt it was not right the way she was talking to me she pretty much exploded asking why am I calling a lawyer its my debt nothing is going to happen about it I need to pay it and at this point she is just yelling things at me. After us exchanging words for a few I asked for her supervisor she transferred my call and I spoke to the supervisor who was a little nicer but still a little snippy at this point I was telling the supervisor how I was treated and told her it wasnt right for me to get disrespected especially when I was just trying to get things resolved. The supervisor didnt care and pretty much just wanted me off the phone didnt apologize at all for the way I was treated she even stated they are not customer service based they are a debt collector. I called back the next day because I was still in awe of all that transpired but I needed a fax number as well as the previous reps I spoke to information because I wanted to file a complaint on the way I was disrespected they gave me that information and I said I was going to contact the Attorney general, The BBB as well as the FDCPA the rep then said to me make my complaints they will answer any and dont call there office anymore and hung up on me. I called back and stated someone just hung up on me can I speak to a supervisor she then said no one in our office will speak to you and hung up on me again. I then called back asking for an account number as well as a balance and they told me unless I am calling to make a payment dont call, told me I should have better things to do with my day then calling them if I am not paying the bill. This whole ordeal has turned into a nightmare over {$300.00} all when I just wanted it resolved but I refuse to be disrespected or talked to any kind of way I dont think its right and the fact that Im buying a house discriminates me from getting a settlement which seems odd to me because they dont know my situation I am trying to get assistance from HUD because I am low income. I just think something needs to be done because if they treated me that way I can only imagine how many others they have done the same way I am human and we all have things that we dont mean to happen but they do, but talking to me less then and dehumanizing me and then saying I need to pay or dont call doesnt make me feel comfortable with giving someone my money. I never in life have experienced this type of treatment from a place of business I have dealt with collection agencies in the past and this by far makes me never want to contact one again this has been a complete nightmare.
