Complaint: I went to XXXX to open a checking account on XX/XX/2017. the gentleman I spoke with ask for my ID and Social Security number. He submitted my info into his computer in which he received some info from ChexSystems. At that time he told me that he could not open a checking account for me due to negative information on the report. I contacted ChexSystems and a few days later they sent me a report. A company by the name of XXXX XXXX had submitted XXXX different negative feedback 's on this report from XXXX different company 's in which I have never heard of. Also on the report was a company call XXXX, representing XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, representing XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX,. I have never ever heard of these company 's. A telephone number was not listed for any of the company ', and also the last XXXX of my SS number was listed.I have no idea who this company ChexSystems is or what their business consist of, but it looks to me that they have too much information on me, and the info is completely false. No wonders Identity Thief is such a huge problem in this Country with Company 's like this in business!!!! These people have complete control of the Consumer in this Country.I am XXXX years old and a XXXX Veteran, and It is a disgrace when a you ca n't even open a checking account in a bank in this Country because of people like ChexSystems!!!!

Complaint: Chex Systems is not complying with federal laws in regards to its records of me in its databases and what it reports I placed a consumer freeze on my credit file before and like magic it disappeared so today i placed one again. I check my XXXX credit report and they are letting their agency subscribers defame my name and character of debts that were charged off by which creditors have been paid for by writing them off as a loss on their business income taxes. The debts are now being reports XXXX times as if i owe the amounts XXXX times since 1998. by the fair debt collections practices act these items should have been purged and deleted outside of statutory limitations. These items under federal law should not be on my credit report by which they are and now i have submitted them to my attorney to pursue actions against them for trying to report them on my credit reports.

Complaint: Chexsystem once again does not deal with my issue. My complete knowing of ChexSystems, their policy of stating that a police report filed six years before the current identity theft situation, arising in a victim 's life, they demand a new police report or an amendment be filed, that does not need to be filed. Chexsystems has claimed that my police report is outdated because it does n't take place when the new identity theft has occurred. This is my claim, that ChexSystems is avoiding they break the law by saying they can interpret the law to demand a new police report or not talk to you for over two and a half years. From XX/XX/XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX when I first filed a complaint against them with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau chexsystems refused to talk to me they hung up on me several times over the course of those two and a half years. Only since the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has gotten involved has ChexSystems started communicating again. they are continuing to lie and avoid the issue. Section 605b of the Fair Credit Reporting Act does not require any dates or times for a police report to be filed whether it be 10 years ago or 20 years ago that the initial police report was filed that police report is still valid in XX/XX/XXXX as the law demands it to be. ChexSystems is trying to reinterpret the law and to demand new documents when the law does not require these. So until Congress rewrites the law chexsystems has to follow the law. They did not do anything to try to accommodate me for two and a half years. that is a total lie because they treated me rudely and disrespectfully and hung up on me when I try to tell them what the law actually said. since the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau got involved I got to speak to the asst. general counsel XXXX XXXX. he understood that the Law did not give ChexSystems the right to do what they were doing by demanding new reports or amendments to old reports, and he is the one that cleared up the identity theft that I have been the victim of for over 20 years. Please Force ChexSystems to respond to the claims that their policies need to be changed to find that they are guilty of breaking the law and demanded they follow the law instead. They do n't simply ask for a police report that is a total lie. They demand new police reports or amendments to police reports because they feel that the police report is outdated. The law does not require any of that but ChexSystems feels they can do that because nobody holds them accountable and that 's what I 'm attempting to do and they are not responding to my claims. They are lying they are breaking the law and because they finally followed the law with me individually they are still probably harming thousands if not millions of other people because they feel above the law. They act as if their interpretations of the law become new law. they are not Congress and they are not the courts so they need to follow the law which says they only need to get a police report regardless of any dates about identity theft and then the consumer States what information is identity theft in their report and ChexSystems is supposed to block this information within 4 business days of getting the police report. Check systems can not say this police report does n't meet our requirements and we do n't have to block these items which is exactly what chexsystems does. for two and a half years they did not talk to me about items that were on my credit report that were 100 % identity theft as proven by the recent removals of that information and only because the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau submitted my complaint to them several times. Chexsystems needs to be held accountable and answer to these claims because they are 100 % true and factual and I state that under the penalty of perjury of the United States.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2016 I contacted ChexSystems to inform them of the ongoing ID theft situation, of my name change, and of a new negative report by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was reporting. ChexSystems informed me that I needed to file yet another NEW police report for ID theft although they were already in possession of a verified and valid one. Nevertheless, a police report was provided to them. I phoned and spoke to a manager who informed me that the dates listed on the police report were too broad and thus required modification to specifically list XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX individually. The police report was modified at her request and forwarded to ChexSystems via a fax number that the manager had provided and also by US Postal Mail. In XX/XX/2016, ChexSystems informed me that they 'd honored my police report, conducted their own internal investigation and permanently blocked the XXXX XXXX account from reporting. However, I have recently decided to switch banks and have been made aware that ChexSystems is till reporting the XXXX XXXX. My current financial institution has further informed me that they have a subscription that has verified that ChexSystems never deleted the item, but it has been consistently reporting and that'swhy my banking services have been limited with them this entire time. I contacted ChexSystems and they now claim to have no record of any supplemental or modified police report being supplied to them. However, I have located the letter they sent me where they verified that they had indeed received it and deleted XXXX XXXX. I have been a victim of ID theft for several arduous years. ChexSystems is well versed on this issue. They are violating the FCRA by allowing verified fraud to be included on my report when they have vigorously verified its invalidity. At no time has ChexSystems ever notified me that they 'd either elected not to delete or had re-reported the fraudulent account. ChexSystems is required by law to permanently block and delete the XXXX listing immediately.

Complaint: Dear ChexSystems ' General Counsel, After receiving a number of unsolicited phone calls and emails from people claiming to be from ChexSystems ' I feel obligated to exercise my rights and alert you to what I consider harassing and damaging behavior.
Specifically, I have received numerous phone calls from people claiming they were from ChexSystems but generally refused to provide any information unless I confirmed my identity. Wary of this potential scam / phishing attempt after previously being a victim of identity theft I am unsure if this is an official action of ChexSystems or a scammer spoofing information. To this end I request that ChexSystems investigate such actions to determine if it is your employees or systems making these unsolicited calls and to provide me with a record of all correspondence on my ChexSystems file, if any.
To confirm my identity, you can use my social security number as provided to you in this CFPB complaint as well as a picture of my passport. I have not been within the USA for many years and have not agreed to the use of ChexSystems to aggregate my personal information.

Complaint: On XXXX/17, I made a payment of {$760.00} for my credit card on the XXXX website. The funds were quickly removed from my checking account at XXXX the very next day XX/XX/2017. The problem is the {$760.00} never posted to the XXXX account and they never got paid. This has been an ongoing issue for two months and neither XXXX, XXXX, of FIS ( the payment vendor ) seems to know what to do. I am consistently told that FIS will contact me but they never do. I only want the {$760.00} to be paid and post to the XXXX account. That is it. For some reason, this is an issue for all parties involved and this has gone on way to long. What happened to my money? Is it just sitting in a FIS suspense account somewhere? Thank you.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, my wife and were shopping at XXXX in XXXX, MS ( store XXXX ) and went to pay with our recently established construction checking account with XXXX County XXXX. The check was for {$160.00}. The check was denied and we were shocked. We immediately called our bank and told there was plenty of money in the checking account. We then called Certegy, but were told that they could do nothing. We then wrote to Certegy Check Services and they replied with a 6 page document which did not give the reason for this denial. On XX/XX/XXXX, we had cashed a check for XXXX at the same store, same checking account. The only thing the 6 page letter told us was that our transaction fell outside of the guidelines Certegy has established for authorization. This is an inadequate response. We want to know specifically why they denied this transaction.

Complaint: Check systems responded again with lies. Unless the president of the United States proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States ChexSystems has to obey the law. The law does not give ChexSystems a right to apply any new language or interpret the law the way they want to because they want to be right. Unless ChexSystems is Congress check systems can not rewrite any laws. The language in the law does not give ChexSystems the right to demand a date or a new police report that fits the dates they feel exist. Congress simply said I have to claim identity theft and make a written report and that is good for any identity theft that happens to me regardless of any time frames. The reason Congress did not limit the time frame of a police report or identity theft report is because it 's good once for all identity theft that would happen to me period because I filed the police report in XX/XX/XXXX Congress allows for it to be good in XX/XX/XXXX and in XX/XX/XXXX. ChexSystems can not change that fact. They claim that their interpretation gives them the right to break the law. I 'm saying the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau needs to slap ChexSystems down and tell them to back off of that position because they are wrong. The law does not give ChexSystems the right to pick and choose what items I claim as identity theft they can or can not block it does not give ChexSystems the right to interpret the law and say well they really meant that the police report has to be within the time frame of the identity theft even though the law does not say that and ChexSystems does not have the power to do that because the law does n't give it to them. The law is very clear and there are no time frames that the identity theft has to fit into the police report time frames. I asked ChexSystems to show the section of the law that gives them the right to demand that. I asked check systems to provide the part of the law section 605b of the Fair Credit Reporting Act that gives them the right to interpret the law to mean that period check systems has refused to show where they feel they are allowed to say what they just did. They are breaking the law by saying that they are flouting it in the Consumer Financial Protection bureau 's face that they feel they can rewrite congress 's law and say even they do n't have a time frame in the law we can add one on our own. ChexSystems is not Congress and they are not the courts period check systems has to follow the law and that 's what I 'm asking them to do change their policy from breaking the law and not blocking items because they feel it fits and simply follow the law as it is written.
Until ChexSystems provides this information they are breaking the law and I 'm going to keep filing these complaints until it gets backed up and it 's their fault for not replying to my claims that they are breaking the law and they do n't have the right or power to do that. They can not add language they can not demand anything of me except my filed identity theft report. They can not demand that it be refiled or that it 's old. Check systems does not have that right or power and they need to be told that directly because they are harming people me and particular at this point because they are arrogantly wrong.

Complaint: I had to close a checking account due to fraud. Since changing to a new checking account I have had repeated instances of having checks declined by Certegy Check Services. I contacted them for a copy of my file to explain why they were being declined and the file states " This transaction fell outside of the guidelines Certegy has established for authorization ''. I called them and they threw responsibility back on the store - because they just advise. They were not able to give me any reason for the checks being declined. In addition, one check was declined and then a month later approved - same checking account, same person. They did tell me not to let this experience stop me from trying to write checks.
