Complaint: This complaint involves the following companies : * Equifax * XXXX * XXXX * XXXX XXXX * XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) * XXXX XXXX Regarding the companies : Equifax, XXXX, XXXX My report has been disputed almost every single month over the same accounts with all three bureaus modifying or publishing inconsistent changes for each dispute. Between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I have filed multiple disputes with each bureau in an effort to correct inaccuracies in my reporting. These inaccuracies have affect credit decisions for me and have cost me considerably with opportunities. The credit card accounts that I had with XXXX and XXXX XXXX were previously in a collection status and there was an established agreement made before settlement payment that my negative remarks, payment history, and derogatory status would be removed from reporting upon receipt of payment. XXXX and XXXX XXXX have repeatedly varied their responses and required credit bureau disputes all of which returned inaccurate results that still have not corrected the issue. XXXX refused completely to acknowledge their issue or even attempt to resolve the issue on their own. After informing them when I called back in XX/XX/XXXX that I had previously submitted 2 disputes with no avail they simply suggested that I attempted yet another dispute. I have done the 3rd dispute attempt and have not had the issue corrected at all with XXXX, Equifax, or XXXX all of which have obfuscated reporting and all of which have changed their reporting multiple times with each dispute, failing to resolve the issue each and every time. I have attempted to subscribe to all three bureau 's individual reporting services in an attempt to progress my issue and not only was I charged money for access to inaccurate reporting, I was unable to receive the assistance that I paid for. This is in addition to the Equifax security breach which has left me unable to access my credit report to " freeze '' it due to both online and telephone failures. I have only been able to access error messages both online and over the phone when attempting to contact all three bureaus to freeze my report. Equifax, even though I am a currently paying subscriber, attempted to sell me an additional service that provided features which I was already entitled to, and features that did not deliver the service that they advertised. Equifax also presents its premium subscription as a way to receive quicker alerts and added safeguards in defending fraudulent activity. As a subscriber I was not made aware, and still have not received, any attempted communication on the part of Equifax to notify me of the security breach. My accounts with XXXX and XXXX XXXX have been settled well out of this year. No account had any obligation owed and I was not in any customer relationship with either bank for the entire whole of XX/XX/XXXX. Furthermore, my account with the Veteran 's Administration that was reported as of even the most recent Equifax dispute as being in a collection status as of XX/XX/XXXX. I have a paid in full letter directly from the Veteran 's Administration refuting this reporting entirely. The latest Equifax dispute results as of XX/XX/XXXX state, " We have verified that this item has been reported correctly. Additional information has been provided from the original source regarding this item. The date closed has been updated. We have verified that the last payment date is reporting correctly. This creditor/agency has verified to OUR company that the date of last activity is being reported correctly. '' XXXX XXXX XXXX has neglected to report all payments made in accordance with attached documentation. In addition, each dispute filed did not return accurate reporting for this information as well. My current status still shows as a collection account in derogatory status despite a paid in full letter showing the correct date directly from the Veteran 's Administration.

Complaint: I called Equifax customer service XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to cancel my product. I was instructed how to do so online by a customer service rep, but the option to cancel was not available to me as I needed to update my debit card information since it had expired. I updated my information, the option to cancel became available, and I immediately cancelled the product. I checked my bank account and I saw that my account had been debited for the monthly subscription amount of {$8.00}. At no point did I authorize my account to be debited. I merely updated my payment information so that the option to cancel would be made available. There was no indication, either by the rep or on the website, that by updating my payment information my account would be debited. I have no interest or intention of using the Equifax product, and requiring payment information to be updated before being able to cancel a subscription is extremely abusive and misleading. I reached out to customer service immediately via e-mail and was provided the following generic response : " Refunds will not be issued for monthly subscriptions. If this is an annual subscription, you will receive a refund based on the original purchase price and the number of unused months still available for your product. There are no partial month refunds. '' My main issue is that my account was drafted without my authorization. I only updated my account information so I could CANCEL my subscription.

Complaint: Equifax compromised my personal identity without my permission. They did n't inform me of it for months, then wanted to charge me to protect my credit. Since there are three major credit agencies, I will get charged at all three of the agencies to freeze my credit information. I am not a customer of any of these agencies, and I do n't want to become a customer. I have a problem with paying for these agencies to protect information I do n't want them to have to begin with and information that they should be protecting as part of there business. I would like these agencies to freeze credit records by default and not try to extort money to protect a persons ' credit records. Now take this complaint and multiply by millions to get an idea about how furious all us regular people are!

Complaint: I have been attempting to freeze my credit with Equifax has been nothing but a nightmare. I attempted to use their online system yesterday ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and received a " System Error - try again later '' message each time. I tried to use the online system again today ( XX/XX/XXXX) and received a slightly different, yet equally vexing message : " We are currently unable to service your request. Please try again later. '' I called the phone number listed on the FTC website ( XXXX ) and got a busy signal. I called the phone number listed as their automated service line ( XXXX ), for which credit freeze is listed as an available service. However, after pressing the required numbers on the keypad, listing my state, etc. I was told by the robotic man that a credit freeze service was not available at this time and to try again later. I went to their chat help at XXXX onXX/XX/XXXX and the page read " Chat unavailable - Check back weekdays XXXX ET '' ( So I was visiting during their listed hours, yet chat was not available. ) None of the credit freeze request methods listed by Equifax are actually viable. It is absolutely unacceptable and ludicrous that the agency who lost sensitive consumer data is also the agency through which it is, apparently, impossible to actually freeze one 's credit!
