Having problems with customer service
Complaint: four years ago discover student loans advertised on their website and those claims were stated by a customer service rep, that co-signers would be released after 18 months-two years of on-time payments. Now they say they made no such claim.
Can they back out of this? We took the loans under false pretense and information by discover. Please help!

Complaint: Discover emailed me about fraud activity on my credit card. I received the email and contacted them when I got the email. It was determined that the charges were fraud and card was not in my possession. My last known whereabouts were at a XXXX XXXX. I was within rights of notifying discover of my fraudulent unauthorized charges. they instructed me that there is a XXXX XXXX liability on fraud charges. i thought everything was ok until XX/XX/XXXX where i called them on status of dispute and they said they were denying the claim and that i will be billed. i was like why was n't i notified and why is it denied? they said because i had fraud on my account earlier in the year? i did not authorize those charges, i did not do those charges. i asked what im suppose to do to? they said i need to file a police report for them to reconsider. i went straight to the police office. they actually were n't even too happy i was there because they felt i was wasting their time? one officer said he was taking the report as a courtesy. 2 weeks later discover denied it still. i then asked the XXXX police department about it and they told me that discover fraud department are not the law enforcement and they are in no position to be acting like it. by treating me like a criminal, and acting like they were the police really upsets me. i did everything they asked and even went to the police for help, i am running out of options?

Complaint: I used a Discover card for several years and finally got it paid off. I called and asked them to close the account. They said they had, but I continued to receive statements every couple months despite not using the card ( I destroyed it ). After a few months I called again and requested that they close my account. I still continue to receive statements ( just got one today ) and it 's been well over a year.

Complaint: Dispute Case : XXXX XXXX/XXXX/15 XXXX XXXX NJ {$58.00} I received defective merchandise from a company. The item was returned, but the company failed to issue credit. Therefore I disputed the charge in writing on my Discover Card. Discover has not investigated correctly. The merchant presented XXXX. However the merchant failed to provide proof the XXXX XXXX XXXX were accepted. This was denied. In addition I provided proof ( tracking ) that the item was returned as requested by the merchant. Discover claims this to be outside the return limit. However the merchant failed to provide proof of delivery. The return was within the return limit. The merchandise was not as described, i.e. the glasses were broken. Discover Card failed to investigate unbiased. Instead my legal right of disputing a charge were negligently hurt by making biased decisions.

Complaint: Discover loans sent me a letter regarding a ruling that CFPB made in XXXX XXXX, XXXX regarding the illegal activities that Discover was engaged under the XXXX XXXX XXXX. The ruling clearly states that I should receive up to {$300.00} for tax preparations for XXXX and XXXX, but they chose to give me just {$75.00} credit per year. My tax preparation costs are a lot more than {$300.00} and surely more than the {$75.00}. So I want to make sure that Discover pays the {$300.00}.

Complaint: We received an offer from Discover for a bonus for new checking account for current Discover card holder that promised {$300.00} for new customers who opened an account and makes XXXX direct deposit of {$250.00}. I applied for an account XX/XX/XXXX with offer on discover website with the promo code given, and the promo code shown up as accepted on the application web site. Fast forward 2 months, I contacted Discovered after XXXX-XXXX direct deposits have been made and the bonus amount had not shown up. The customer representative who I spoke up said my account qualifies for the offer, and the system is still catching up on offer processing, and I will receive in the bonus in weeks. Fast forward another 2-3 month to today, I called and was told that I was not eligible for the offer, even though I have told my offer code was accepted at application and told I was eligible once again on the phone. This does not feel like an acceptable way of doing business, I was marketed and promised something that was not delivered.

Keep getting calls about my loan
Complaint: I was a co-signer on an original student loan, my son refinanced it through Discover student loans.
They call me at all hours, leave messages. They leave their number but never a name of the company. Just that it is an important business transaction WHen I speak to them the payment is not overdue, they are calling 5 days before it is past due. I direct them to check their on line system, and when they do every time the rep. says that the payment was made within the last XXXX or 36 hours. Then they hang up.
I have told them time and time again, I am only the co-signer possibly, and not to call me until the debt is overdue, and they refuse to accept this. I get these calls regularly.
