Complaint: I was enrolled in Discover double case back program in XX/XX/XXXX and got email confirmation in XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I confirmed my time period of the double cash program XX/XX/XXXX, the representative said that I was enrolled XX/XX/XXXX even though there was n't any email nor record on my account reflected that information, and I made a lot of purchase using Discover it card in XX/XX/XXXX assuming my program started on the date I received that email confirmation. When I called in to their customer service, the director explained that the email confirmation meant nothing, and the date on that email says " XXXX XXXX as the XXXX billing period '' is not necessary the XXXX but can be XXXX and even XXXX. When I pointed out the confusion of the email, the director made up an email on XXXX XXXX XXXX that he claimed had rewards program information on it. I do n't have that email ever, and he could n't even bother making up the content of the email but saying there was an email. I was so disappointed of how Discover pulling this trick of date on me. I wish I had more clearer information in the first place to avoid this kind of misunderstanding. Discover did a terrible job of letting customer know the exactly date of their rewards program and tracking the use of their Discover deal portal. When it comes to REWARD, Discover makes all the information as vague as possible!! That made-up email was a total disappointment, I will stop using this card and stop referring my friends.

Complaint: Discover card is deleting records that can disprove the balances owed on their accounts. After 10 years of paying about {$200.00} a month on my account there is no reduction in my balance. I began to research this account to find out what the initial balance was as well as an accounting of how and what charges was I still paying for but was unable to find that information out because those records were inaccessible. I was lulled into trusting discover When I began this investigation I pulled up records that showed a beginning balance but no purchases only an unchanging balance. My credit limit is higher but I do n't understand how I arrived at the current balance. I saved the statements that were available at first but when I went back to review them a few days later they were not available. I reported this to XXXX. But got nowhere. For the last four years I have paid about XXXX $ a month with no change to the balance. I feel as if I am an indentured servant. Please help.

Complaint: I have a automatic payment deduction set up for my Discover credit card. The limit is {$2000.00}. They deducted the {$100.00} in XXXX. But in XXXX 2016 they did not make a deduction. However they reported to the credit bureau that my account was over drawn by {$35.00}. Why not make the authorized {$100.00} deduction that would have made my account {$1900.00} and avert a negative report on a customer that has never been late with a payment? Discover seems to rush to to negative reporting even when they have a real solution. I want the negative report removed. I will pay off the card and close the account. Do not need to do business with these type people.

Complaint: On XXXX XXXX 2016 my Discover Credit Card had a fraudulent charge and it was canceled and a new one issued. I received the new Discover credit card on XXXX XXXX and activated it with no problems. However I have not been able to log into by Discover Bank account ever since this date. Discover Customer Service keeps telling me it is a technical issue. It is unbelievable to me that 21 days later I can not log into my Discover on line Bank account due to a Discover Credit Card issue. Discover Bank is an online bank. I need online access to it.

Complaint: I paid off my Discover card on XXXX XXXX, 2016 and called them shortly after and asked them to close the account. The balance was paid in full and they closed it on XXXX XXXX, 2016. Nobody told me I should check back to see if any new charges appeared. The account was closed and I forgot about it. To me closed means CLOSED! Apparently that was n't the case though. A new charge of {$28.00} appeared on the account for what they later told me were interest charges. Around the XX/XX/XXXX I got a letter in the mail saying I owed {$120.00} on the account. I called them about it and I was livid. They had tacked on late fees and reported me for 30 and 60 days late on the account. They took the fees off and I paid the {$28.00} which had somehow magically appeared on a CLOSED account. My credit report shows absolutely NO late payments on ANY of my accounts EVER, and because of the 30 and 60 days late reported on a lousy {$28.00} charge that I was n't even aware of, Discover dragged my credit score down from XXXX to XXXX. This is not right. I called them about it after I ran my credit score and found this out, but they said they would n't remove the 30 and 60 day late reports on my credit.

Don't agree with fees charged
Complaint: I have a private Student Loan through Discover. The already outrageously high interest rate ( 9.875 % ) raised without notice to 10 % this statement. This is the second time this year the rate has increased. This time, however, no notice was provided for the increased rate. I 've previously tried working with the loan servicer to find out how I can reduce the interest rate ( whether through refinancing through Discover or any other means ) and they have been unhelpful. Aside from the fact that my auto loan and mortgage have interest rates that are nearly half that of my private student loan, I am concerned about the rate continuing to increase. Furthermore, I have attempted contacting the servicer for an explanation on why the rate has increased without notice, and a request to return the rate to what it was before the increase happened ( again, without any notice to me ). Not only has Discover not addressed my concern, Discover simply has not engaged with me. I have not received any communication since my inquiry, several days ago. I 'm worried that I have an outstanding debt to a private institution that operates similarly to a gang lord ; Discover charges me what it sees fit, and does not service my account, and I simply do not have a voice with them. Every month, I pay XXXX to XXXX times the minimum payment, in an attempt to be out from under this debt from an unfair provider. The feeling of despair and hopelessness grows more each time they chose to unjustly raise the interest. What is more troubling, the interest steadily started rising as soon as I started paying more than the minimum. It is as though Discover was dead set on making a specific profit from my account, and now that I can afford to pay more to the account, they will make up for the fact that I will be debt free sooner by charging me exorbitant fees lacking representation. I do understand that this loan has a variable rate ; however, if my provider is going to exercise it 's right to increase the rate, it absolutely must give me proper notice. It was the only thing that separated it from a slum lord, and I fear I do n't even have that now.

Complaint: I called DISCOVER card to pay my balance in full with the interest included. I specifically told the representative on the phone that once my bill was with interest was paid in full that I did not want to be contacted in any way, not by mail, email, or phone calls. Discover clearly did not log my request down. I also told them that " I wanted my card account closed and my credit report to state '', " account closed by the consumer and all negative and late payments removed from my credit report. '' Despite all my request to DISCOVER card I am still receiving letters in the mail stating that I own them {$150.00}. The letter balance has me paying {$7500.00} but they stated I only paid {$7400.00} in the current balance so they can continue to harass me for money and try to nickel and dime me for more money. I want the harassing letters, email, and phone calls to stop. I also told the Discover card representative to delete my personnel and bank information since my account is closed with them and there is no need to have that anymore. DISCOVER card told me that they would not only be keeping my personnel information but they well be storing it for sometime to do what ever they want to do with my info.

Received bad information about my loan
Complaint: I am a current customer with Discover Student Loans. My interest rate has increased from 6.5 % to 7.00 % in less than two years ; that includes XXXX increases in the past six months. So, I called Discover Student Loans this morning. I asked for a reduction in my interest rate. I was informed by XXXX agents that the federal regulators set the rates, and that Discover can not reduce my interest rate. That is incorrect. The federal regulators set the prime rates. Discover adds on to that rate to set my Discover Student Loan total interest rate. My first complaint is that Discover provided me incorrect information on how my student loan interest rate was calculated and blamed the regulators for the rate, not taking ownership for their calculation.
Next, I was informed by a Discover Student Loan agent that the ONLY way to reduce my rate was to apply for a consolidated student loan. This would account for a hard inquiry on my credit. Upon hearing this was my ONLY option, I submitted my application over the telephone. My second complaint is that I was incorrectly informed the only way to reduce my rate was to re-apply. This is incorrect. Discover has committed in the public press that they will work with student lendees to reduce interest rates for highly qualified individuals ( of which I am ). I informed the agent of this, who simply did not agree.
Next, the agent obtained my information and imported my existing Discover Student Loan information ( i.e., the current balance ) into the application. Next, the agent informed me that I was not approved and that I would receive a letter in the mail informing me as to why I was not approved. The application I submitted and was ultimately declined for only included the existing Discover Student Loan. Ironically, I was declined for the same student loan product that I currently have with Discover. That 's my third complaint - that I was declined for the same product I have today.
I informed the agent that I have obtained lower fixed and variable rates from a competitor. Discover 's competitor offered me the same lending terms ( variable, 15-year ) at 4.7 % interest. My current Discover student loan 's interest rate is 7.00 % ; that includes a .25 % reduction for direct debit. My fourth complaint is that Discover is taking 2.3 % more than its competitor ( s ) over the life of this loan. That amount excessive, and not working with me to reduce my rate to match industry standard is unconscionable.

Complaint: This is the second time this has happened. My 3.120 % fixed interest rate was raised in error. Without looking at the promissory note, the agent insisted that it was variable. I had an extra {$3.00} showing as past due. This easily could have affected my credit if I did not catch it.

Complaint: Regarding the Discover Card Cash Advance Balance left over from the XXXX XXXX Statement, Per the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act from XX/XX/XXXX, Any excess amount which is considered the difference from the minimum payment must be applied to the balance with the highest interest rate.
I have recently contacted Discover over the discrepancy of the Cash Advance Credit Line Balance. They claim that I have - {$240.00} which would put my Cash Advance Credit Line Balance at {$4300.00}. I made a payment on XXXX XXXX, XXXX in the amount of {$750.00}. The minimum payment due was {$170.00}. This {$170.00} should have been applied to the Purchases Balance. The Purchases APR is 23.24 % while the Cash Advance APR is 25.24 %.
Since speaking with XXXX different representatives from Discover, XXXX of them have come to the same calculations I was getting, while the XXXX stated that on some occasions, the portion of the payment that is supposed to go to the higher APR Line does n't always happen. This raises some red flags due to the fact that this impacts the Interest Calculations. The idea is that in general Accounting, both business parties ( Company & Consumer ) should be able to get matching figures on both Interest and Balances. Discover does not release what portion of your total payments go to Purchases or Cash Advances on the Statements released at the end of each cycle. This leaves a hole in the mathematical adjustments because not knowing what portions go to what Lines, the balances are impacted which in turn impacts the total Interest at the end of the cycle, due to there being XXXX different rates for each Line.
The balances would have been as follows following the XXXX XXXX Statement for each Line : Purchases Balance carried over to the XXXX of XXXX ( includes Interest ) : {$4900.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX carried over to XX/XX/XXXX ( includes Fees and Interest ) : {$3800.00} Transactions from XX/XX/XXXX on : XX/XX/XXXX {$4.00} XXXX XXXX {$260.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX - {$750.00} Payment ( minimum was {$170.00} ) ( {$170.00} goes to Purchases, {$570.00} to Cash Advances ) XX/XX/XXXX - {$5.00} Cashback Bonus Redemption ( Payment ) XX/XX/XXXX {$13.00} Cash Advance Fee XX/XX/XXXX {$150.00} XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$500.00} Cash Advances/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$25.00} Cash Advance Fee XX/XX/XXXX {$100.00} XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$120.00} Cash Advances/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX {$10.00} Cash Advance Fee All Cash Advance Transactions end at XX/XX/XXXX The total of all of these Cash Advance Transactions from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX equal : {$920.00} The Payment Balance for Cash Advances subtracted from the Cash Advance Total above equals : {$920.00} - {$580.00} = {$340.00} Prior Cash Advance Balance ( {$3800.00} ) + New Cash Advance Transactions ( {$340.00} ) equals : {$4100.00} The Cash Advance Credit Line phases out at {$4100.00} ( Maximum allowed ) My available Cash Advance Credit Line should be - {$65.00}, not - {$240.00}
