Complaint: I applied for a Discover card a few days ago online at : https : //www.discovercard.comXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I did this for the 0 % financing on balance transfer for 18 months.
I liked this offer and applied. I was accepted and a screen popped up saying I was approved for 0 % financing up to 18 months for up to {$7500.00} on balance transfers.
Now I go look at the account online and Discover changed the terms to 10.99 % financing for 14 months with 3 % transfer charge.
I received the account and have good credit at XXXX, but no reason given for the 'bate and switch ' of promotions.
I have chatted with their representatives online, and they refuse to honor the agreement, and can give no explanation why.

Complaint: The credit card company Discover card, will not remove late payment history mark. I setup automatic payments, and they will not admit the error was on their part. I never canceled automatic payments, because I am a service member, and deploy often. I have called and talk with numerous people. However, they will not remove. I was deployed from XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX. They reported a late payment in XXXX and will not remove, due to an error on their part.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 a portion of my federal tax return was deposited into my Discover online checking account. I stopped using the account a few months previous due to the bank delaying bill payments for up to a week costing me late fees. On XX/XX/2018 I used one of the bank designated ATMs ( XXXX ) and was denied withdrawal and when I called to see why, I was given an explanation of suspicious activity because I used an ATM outside the city I live in ( same state ) but I have used this ATM on other occasions. Once I verified who I was, I was told everything should be fine but, it wasn't and I was still denied access to my account I tried making a purchase at the grocery store with cash back and was denied still. I called again and the representative told me there was a security freeze on my account and gave me temporary access for 15 minutes and said the freeze would be released in 24 hours. The explanations didn't make any sense at all to me so I tested the card the next day on the XXXX while on my work assignment in my own city of residence again the ATM transaction was denied and I was told that this bank designated ATM inside XXXX grocery store was a high security risk and a code needed to be entered in the system for that particular ATM. I explained that I have to travel back and forth sometimes for my job and I needed access to my account especially when on the highway. However, I did tell the rep that I would be contacting the FDIC about this.There were no pending transactions, no negative balance, and no report of a lost or stolen debit/ATM card before the federal tax return was deposited, I stopped my direct deposit from my job to this account a few months ago because of delayed transactions especially transfers. So I still don't have a valid reason for a security freeze and denied ATM transactions. The first of XXXX is in one day, and I do not want any more of these senseless issues when I have to pay my bills. Since when was an explanation required to access your own money.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 Discover Bank sent me a 1099-C, Cancellation of Debt for the amount of {$3600.00} - the outstanding past due balance on a Discover Card in my name. SInce XXXX effectively canceled the debt by issuing the 1099-c, they can not report a balance or past due amount on my credit report. I disputed this through XXXX, which Discover verified the balance and past due amount, there by violating the FCRA as since the issuance of a 1099-c cancels the debt, I do not own them any amount nor is any amount past due.
This is willfully false reporting and I demand the trade line be deleted from my report. DIscover is engaging in a clear violation of the FCRA and willfully reporting false information damaging my credit.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I applied for a XXXX Discover Card about 8months ago, and everything was fine when I was paying with my XXXX account. However I move away to go to college so my mom gave me her debit card to process the payments. Discover card took my payments but never told me the debit card was not a form of payment that they use, so about two payments were rejected. I then put my mom on the phone so she could see what was going on and she is the one that found out about the debit card not being a form of payment. My mom then used her checking bank account, which was also rejected. My mom put the bank on the other line with the discovered card agent, to make sure everything was ok. Which discover card said that it would be ok, however that payment was rejected also. Discover stated it was rejected saying no account found. Instead of discover working this out with me knowing that one of their agents realized that it was a debit card I was paying with they still decided to close my account., due to the payments being rejected 4 times, which was because discovered never advise me that they did not take debit cards. My mother called in again to try it again, and now after two months of trying to get these payments to go through and agent advise her that they do except debit cards, but they have to transfer you to a different number, so this has caused my credit to go down or look bad due to discover not accepting my payments and not advising me properly, due to my account now being closed.
I would like for discover to open my account back up, especially since I am still paying the bill on-time.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: My loan was transferred from being provided by XXXX XXXX back to Discover onXX/XX/XXXX.
My recurring auto-payment amount was changed without notification.
I was unable to alter this on the Discover website ( as I had been with XXXX XXXX ). After calling to alter the amount ( which was a slow, unclear and laborious process ) I managed to change it back onXX/XX/XXXX.
I checked back to discover website on XX/XX/XXXX to find that my auto-payment amount had been changed again without notification.
I am really frustrated by how difficult and unhelpful Discover have been to deal with.

Complaint: Discovercard services teams have always been GREAT to work with. The banking side for CDs has also been a pleasant experience. So, when I saw a no cost, no fee home equity offer from Discover Bank, in XX/XX/XXXX, I decided to apply to pay off an existing loan for the lower rate offered by Discover. In hindsight, I wish I had not started this process with them. The process has been difficult, disorganized and confusing. There are emails, phone calls, paper documents that come in the mail, and the process is not consistent or synchronized. I have voiced my views on how they could have made the process easier by upfront inquiries ( for example, self employed and living trust accounts require substantially more information in the application process ). But, they were generally not interested in my observations. Adding insult to injury, I have in fact had to pay at least one of the expenses they incurred, a {$30.00} payoff fee charged to me by my current lender. It's now XX/XX/XXXX, and I still don't have final documents for the loan though it sounds like it may have been approved by someone there at DIscover ....

Overcharged for something you did purchase with the card
Complaint: On the XX/XX/2018 I made a purchase for XXXX on my discover card XXXX XXXX music which was declined and I then pay with cash .but the fund just disappears from the card. At one time the funds was showing on the account as pending and then its disappear but the funds are not on card. I called several times to discover and the merchant but nothing was being done. Every time funds just disappear from the account I called several time and talk to the supervisor and customer service and they are saying the the funds will show up the next business day, but no funds never show up on the account. I do hope someone could help me with this matter as soon as possible. I am sure There are many innocent people out there who are being rip off by this company and didnt knew.
