Complaint: I have had Discover Card since XXXX and have an outrageous rate of 18.99 % on purchases from XX/XX/XXXX and prior. When I called to ask why it is so high I was told ( on XX/XX/XXXX ) that I had a late fee on XX/XX/XXXX which increased the rate to 23.99 %. At some point they did reduce the rate to 18.99 % but will not reduce it further because I " signed that I knew the policy. '' Can Discover Card continue to penalize me after 10 years? They don't care why I was late or that I have paid on time regularly for years. Is there anything I can do? I'm trying to retire and can only do it if I can pay my bills down. Thanks for any help.

Complaint: Discover Card states that they closed my account for non-use in XXXX after sending me two notices by mail of their intention. However, I never received notification. I contacted them to reopen my account due to their being in violation of terms that require them to notify me prior to closing the account, but they have repeatedly denied my request and informed me I would have to reapply for a new card. They have damaged my credit score by closing the account ( and did not notify me as required ). I have no interest in reapplying for an account because that will further damage my credit score.

Complaint: I got a secured card with Discover in XX/XX/2016 and was told they review to graduate at 7 months. I am at 14 months, have excellent history and have built up my credit. I have been preapproved for a new discover card for 2 months but keep getting strung along about this one graduating. I have called 3x to cancel but keep being asked to give it more time. I even got the " privilege '' of 0 % interest on my own $ as a tactic to not close my account though I have always paid in full. They have done away with the protections and shopping benefits they had when I got the card and the only thing I keep waiting on is the fact that if I close the card I have to wait 2 billing cycles plus 5-7 days yet if it graduates I can have the check in 5-7 days. All I want is my card to graduate. How am I good enough to get a new account yet the one funded with my own money won't graduate?

Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX, was doing business with Discover card since XX/XX/XXXX. They took out protection policy for me without my knowledge. I paid for this unnecessary action up to XX/XX/XXXX. I just happen to notice it when I'd final paid off the balance due. But Discover card still took out money from my account. And, NO notice was given that my account was paid off! I had to call them to stop. Otherwise, they would have continued. It was then that I noticed the unauthorized protection payments. The agent I spoke to stated the company would refund me {$300.00} and that the check would be sent to me if I kept my account open. I was told this XX/XX/XXXX. I kept the account open until XX/XX/XXXX. I'd waited but no check came. I called to find out when I'd get the money. I was told XX/XX/XXXX that I would be paid only {$22.00}.
