Complaint: On XX/XX/2018, I closed the secured Discover card ( XXXX ) that I deposited {$200.00}. It is already a month and not received my deposit back. They said it takes 2 months and 10 days. They hold money of millions of people for 2 months for taking financial advantages. They should pay interest on holding millions of dollars they hold from customers.

Complaint: I extensively researched different credit cards back in XX/XX/XXXX and finally decided to apply for the Discover It card because everywhere I looked said there was 0 % interest on purchases and balance transfers for something like 18 months, maybe 14. This was written clear as day in all the articles I read, as well as the terms on the actual Discover website. I applied and was so excited to be approved ... In XX/XX/XXXX I put a large purchase on my card and they are now charging me interest. I called the company multiple times and they argued with me saying that you only get the special interest on purchases IF you're approved for that, not when you're approved for the card. I've never experienced something like this and I totally feel like they lied to get me into a credit card with them but never gave me the promotional interest rate as advertised. I read all the fine print and couldn't find anything that says you may not be approved for the 0 % APR on purchases, they're claiming I only was allowed that on balance transfers and I know that's incorrect. I'm currently working on getting a new card to transfer the Discover balance into so I can give my business to somewhere that honors their word. Every card I've ever applied for has given me the intro rate that shows on the application and I thought Discover would be no different. Sorry I was so wrong.

Complaint: My private student loan was through Discover but has been handled by XXXX XXXX XXXX. A payment of {$900.00} was made on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX for this student loan. Then we received a letter that Discover was taking over the loan servicing. The {$900.00} was not credited to my account. We spoke with " XXXX '' at Discover on XX/XX/XXXX and she contacted XXXX XXXX who confirmed we did make the payment. We were told to upload the receipt and bank statement showing we had made the payment to Discover and they would subtract the {$900.00} from the minimum amount due. She gave us the amount the new balance would be. They never subtracted the {$900.00} from the minimum balance due. We spoke with " XXXX '' on XX/XX/XXXX, " XXXX '' on XX/XX/XXXX, and " XXXX XXXX '', a supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX. She told me she had to get information from headquarters to figure it out. I have left messages for XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. She has not returned my phone calls. Essentially, they took the {$900.00} from our bank account and did not subtract it from the minimum balance due. It is as if we never gave them the money. Each time we have made other payments, the amount of the payment is automatically subtracted from the balance due. But they refuse to do it for the {$900.00} payment.

Complaint: Opened a Discover Card XX/XX/XXXX with 0 % APR and 23.99 % Cash Advances. I later closed my card in order to pay it off since I was laid off from a job. I had been making payments regularly and I realized my balance should be paid in full given the interest rate, amount paid, length of time I paid on the card. XX/XX/XXXX I send a certified letter requesting my initial agreement and statements. Discover card signed in acknowledgment of receipt of the letter. I was never sent anything. While I was waiting for the letter I requested I was sent a letter stating that I would be sent to an attorney for a lawsuit. I called and explained I was waiting on a response letter from discover card ; I think I'm getting charged the wrong interest rate, I am not sure I agreed to this, and I have been paying it for years. They lowered the interest rate and allowed me to make a one time small payment to avoid being turned over to a lawyer. They did affirm, multiple times, they will be sending my initial agreements, statements, and if charges were wrong it would be rectified. I finally received my statements in the mail, but not my initial agreement. My interest rate in XX/XX/XXXX was 20.24 % APR and 25.24 % Cash Advances. I called again, and they told me if they can find it they will send it to me. I ask " what if you can't find it? I don't want to take discover cards word that I was not overcharged '' they said another department will handle that. I have been trying to resolve this issue for a very long time. I just need validation of my initial agreement and if I have been overcharged I feel I should be reimbursed for the 7 years of being over charged. ( I was not getting statements in the mail and I am not sure what email they had for me, or I would not have had to demand my statements 3 or 4 times ).

Complaint: I have been a discovery customer for 3 years and during that time, I have enjoyed my experience with discovery credit card immensely. I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a " goodwill '' adjustment to your reporting to the three credit agencies. I have three late payments on the above referenced accounts from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. Since that time I have been an exceptional customer paying early every month because of my exceptional payment history over the last 3 years, I would like you to consider removing the negative payment from my credit report. At the time of the late payment, I was going through some financial struggles. I recently had a baby and not to long before that I had an accident at work leaving me with medical bills that I personally had to pay due to some misunderstanding between my employers insurance. At only XXXX years of age I am only human, I am bound to make mistakes especially when it comes to finances and credit. I say that not to justify why my payments were late, but rather to show that the late payments is not a good indicator of my actual credit worthiness. I hope that you guys are willing to work with me on erasing these marks from my credit reports.I have been a very happy customer in the past and hope to continue a long relationship with my discovery credit card. With today 's credit industry so competitive, I know how important it is to maintain good relationships with customers. Discovery has been exceptional in my book so far and I highly recommend it to all my friends and relatives. Complaint: Week or so prior XX/XX/18 saw ad on web page from Discover, for balance transfer at 0 % /14months. I applied for {$14000.00} + 3 % fee. They answered showing the total amount, and informed " Approved '' - I would be getting card soon. XX/XX/XXXXrecvd card and checked with my bank to see if transferred - Not so, therefore called Discovery who claimed I was only approved for {$950.00}. plus {$50.00} left on card. Very upset and talked to Supervisor in Ohio ( XXXX, Badge XXXX ) - Informed her this was misrepresentation/Scam/Fraud and wanted card cancelled and transfer not made. She claimed amount in process and the only option was to contact my bank asking them to return the {$950.00}. ; but I declined as did not want to get my bank involved in their mess, so just asked the card be cancelled and they should inform the credit agencies as this would affect my credit score. Aside from cancellation, they could not do anything else. I have ripped the card but now I am stuck with another separate loan payment. They need to inform people of amount approved before sending card. Seems to me a good scam to provide addtl cards, possibly with intent people will use them when desperate, and at a LOAN SHARK rate. Pls look into their practice method. Thanks

More specifically, aXX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXXtimeframe. 2 ) The address provided to and reported by Discover Bank is one that XXXX XXXX has never lived at, in a State in which he has never been a resident. We have provided signed documentation from the management company which proves this fact. ( Figure C ) 3 ) Discover Bank failed to respond in any measure to the Cease and Desist notice registered with the Civil Court of XXXX County Iowa in XX/XX/XXXX, which demanded that the aforementioned company immediately cease identifying this account with our client. That document detailed the failure of Discover Bank to comply with : 31 CFR, Part 1020, Rules for Banks, Subpart D 1020.410Records to be made and retained by banks and Opening Account Procedures. The United States Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. 1681, 611 The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C.1692 4 ) XXXX XXXX was living abroad at the time this account was created. Complaint: Dear Sir or Madam, Please help me. I am a victim of identity theft, and I am being held responsible by Discover Card for {$5300.00} in purchases that I absolutely did not make. The fraud dispute process has failed. I have been fighting with Discover Card since XX/XX/XXXX, but every time I resubmit my claim, I get rejected with no explanation. When I call, I am told that I can not speak directly with a member of the fraud resolution team because they " do not accept phone calls. '' I want to exercise my rights under the Fair Credit Billing Act ( FCBA ). I first notified Discover Card of the fraudulent activity on XX/XX/XXXX. The charges were credited from my account, beginning on XX/XX/XXXX. I received correspondence from Discover that all unauthorized charges have been credited on my account. But on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from Discover stating that they changed their minds, and that I was responsible for all charges. They placed all credited fraud charges back on my account! This is a violation of the dispute settlement procedures provided by the FCBA ( 161, sections A and B ). The FCBA settlement procedures apply to fraud or unauthorized charges, which I am disputing. Federal law states Discover must resolve the dispute within two billing cycles ( but not more than 90 days ) after receiving my notification of disputed charges. Discover failed to meet this timeline, and the law clearly states that any creditor who fails to follow the settlement procedure may not collect the amount in dispute, or any related finance charges even if the creditor finds the charges to be valid. My dispute was initiated in the XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX billing cycle. The dispute was not resolved within the next 2 billing cycles of XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. The disputed charges did not reappear back on our account until the XXXX billing cycle of XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. Therefore, even if Discover believes these charges to be valid, ( which they absolutely are not ), under law, we are not responsible to pay the charges. I am attaching proof that the dispute began in the XX/XX/XXXX billing cycle, and the dispute was not resolved until 3 billing cycles later, in the XX/XX/XXXX billing cycle. I am also attaching the overwhelming evidence proving that the fraud charges were not authorized by me or anyone in my family. Thank you!
