Complaint: I was a victim of identity theft by my mother who was living with me at the time and struggling with money. She currently does not live with and I have been unable to contact her. The amount of the debt is around {$2900.00}. I have already paced a fraud alert on my credit report and filed a police report and also tried to contact this company but they will not take the debt off my credit report.

Complaint: The Discover Bank refuse to provide me a monthly statement including ONLY the transactions for that month for XXXX and XXXX ( say quarterly end ).
They do provide monthly statement on XXXX, XXXX and XXXX, but for the XXXX statement and the anticipating XXXX statement, they include all activities in that quarter ( say it becomes a quarterly statement ).
I asked them to provide me a monthly statement in addition to the quarterly statement. But they refused to do so.

Complaint: My Discover credit card has posted transfer balance from my previously disputed cared stolen transactions amounting XXXX a credit card service representative explained the posting has been forwarded from previously account and mentioned I will get the credit back.
After 2 weeks my account has not been credited. Today after calling the bank another representative informed me that I am responsible for the fraud transactions because the lost stolen card fraud transactions were made in the similar store and the same amount that it is unlikely those transactions are fraud.
I have repetdly informed the representative that I disagree with their decision and this is violating my right.

Complaint: I received an email on XX/XX/XXXX that my card was closed due to a review of my account. I was told that my card was being closed due to delinquent activity ( from XX/XX/XXXX which was a card I never opened in the first place ) and a high credit utilization for my overall credit. I opened this card in XX/XX/XXXX after the " delinquent activity '' took place. I also had a higher credit utilization when I applied for the card then what I have now. I do not understand why it was ok for me to be approved, but now I receive a review ( which I did not ask for in any capacity ) in a better situation then when I applied and I all of a sudden lose my account. This is extremely unfair and frustrating. Now, my overall credit utilization will be a higher percentage and will lower my credit score. I also have never missed a payment and by the end of every month I have a XXXX balance on the card. I tried to call to reopen my card and was told that it was closed and there is nothing that can be done, however, I can apply for a new card. How they can even recommend that is absurd to me as they just closed my account for " credit reasons ''. Miserable and unfair treatment.

Complaint: Discover Student Loans claims they have become the servicer of a loan in my name. I have not been receiving bills regarding this loan previously so I was suspicious and called them in XX/XX/XXXX and again in XX/XX/XXXX asking for them to send me a copy of a master promissory note to verify that the debt is legitimate. They told me both times I would receive it within 7-10 business days but I have not received it either time. They are now reporting this account to credit agencies.

Complaint: I graduated from XXXX XXXX in XXXX, and my loans entered into repayment in XXXX. The loans at issue are through Discover Student Loans. I initially set my loans on a ten-year repayment plan and my monthly payments were approximately {$650.00} / month. In XX/XX/XXXX, i was switching jobs and wanted to set my loans to a 20 year term ( i.e. so they would be paid off in XXXX ). Discover adjusted my payments, and my payments went down to {$220.00} / month. I made the same {$220.00} payments for five years until in XX/XX/XXXX, when Discover unilaterally increased my payment amount to {$2600.00} and withdrew that amount from my account via direct deposit. They did not notify me in advance of this increase. When i contacted Discover, they said that the only documentation they had was that my loans were on a 10 year term, and therefore they increased my monthly payments to {$2600.00}. However, Discover is ignoring that my statements and payments for the past 5 years reflected a 20 year repayment schedule. I believe that Discover did this because my loans are at a very low interest rate ( 2.25 % ) and they want to accelerate my payments so that they can loan out the money at a higher rate.

Fee problem
Complaint: Discover bank charged me {$15.00} excessive withdrawal fees in XX/XX/XXXX {$180.00} fees in XX/XX/XXXX and {$60.00} in XX/XX/XXXX. I never received their letters they mentioned in their previous correspondences. If they sent letters, they were never delivered. I was never informed of this. As a bank, those fees need to be refunded as a courtesy. $ 200+ is a lot to me.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: Received a settlement letter in XX/XX/XXXX from Discover, we sent a check in by the requested date to settle the account. The check showed up as deposited in our bank account so we figured the account was settled. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX we received a letter from Discover saying the account has still not been paid even though we have documentation showing the check has been deposited into their account. On that day we called customer service to see the status of the account, and they reported the same information as to the letter we received. They had us send in copies of the check and bank statement. Fast forward to XX/XX/XXXX we received another letter from discover saying that we still owed. We have called Discover multiple times to get this situation rectified.

Trouble with how payments are being handled
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX my son and I, the co signer, were sent letters of default on 2 loans. When the letter came, I sent a check clearly marked with the 2 account numbers. 2 years later I find out the one account was never credited. I called Discover around the XX/XX/XXXX, they tranferred me to XXXX. I sent her copy of the cancelled check. She said she would call back in 1 week. After 2 weeks I called Discover and asked to speak with XXXX. Was told that there was no XXXX working for Discover and I must have called XXXX XXXX instead. I said no, I didn't even know what XXXX XXXX was so how could I call them. I explained that the only thing XXXX had done was put the loan in question back on my account. XXXX said she would personally look into it and call me back within 2 weeks. NEVER called back. Called again on XX/XX/XXXX and talked to XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXX. He saw all notes and promised to take care of things. That was 2 months ago and still nothing is resolved and I have a mark against my credit because of their mistake.

Charged too much interest
Complaint: I tried calling Discover Credit Card services to find out how they calculated my monthly interest rate. I know that it is now calculated based off 2 factors : your daily periodic rate and your average daily balance. I could not find out how they came up with the amount they provided for my average daily balance and called customer service for assistance. They could not provide how they came up with the number and I asked to file a claim. She said she would express my issue with someone higher up, but I still dont know how they came up with the amount and it was never explained. I will be looking further into my other credit card companies as well to see if it possibly exists beyond Discover. I just got off the phone with Discover as soon as I began writing this complaint. I believe millions of customers are being get XXXX XXXX by credit card companies and have been for longer than Id like to think. When they charge you an interest rate, it should be clearly explained on how that number was calculated. And I fee that you use be able to use the same formula, plug the same numbers they used, and get the exact same amount they did. If you cant, somethings wrong ; which could possibly mean they are overcharging interest.

Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I am an XXXX patient. Back inXX/XX/XXXX my discover credit card ( new card number ending XXXX ) was lost/stolen. There were so many fraud transactions on my card from XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. I called and reported that. As I said I am an XXXX patient so sometime I dont even remember keeping up with my card. I was told I wont be responsible for any charges. But they put back all the charges on me again last month. ( Total around {$3300.00} ). They said they asked me for proof they called me but I dont remember receiving anything from them. I dont even drive, No one else in my family has access to my card. I work only part time and not able to pay as this isnt fair for me to pay something which I didnt purchase. You can contact my XXXX doctor and confirm with him.
