Complaint: Caliber Home loans charged excessive fees without an explanation on the nature of the charges. Caliber Home Loans charged more fees on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2016 after they received the pay off {$770000.00}, .I closed escrow on XXXX/XXXX/2016. Caliber Home Loans did not sent any explanation, receipt, invoice or proof of payment to persons or institutions. It seems that Caliber Home Loans can charge whatever in a spreadsheet ( all kind of numbers ) and nobody in customer service can explain what those charges are.

Complaint: I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX regarding a mortgage. I explained to him from our initial conversation that I previously had a short sale and wanted to know if I would still be eligible for a mortgage, he proceeded to ask me for personal information and replied that there would be no problem in getting me approved. I disclosed to him that I wanted to buy the same house I previously owned, he stated that would n't be a problem. He provided a pre-approval and had me complete and signed disclosures. One week prior to closing and after paying for inspection/appraisal and attorney fees he called me and stated it could n't be done. We started to look again for another house, found one and he said that now we would n't have an issue ( all supported by emails, text and conversations with my attorney ). Again I paid for inspection, appraisal and he came back almost 2 months later stating he was asking for an exception and needed additional documentation. I was told by his previous employer XXXX XXXX XXXX that this was not the 1st time he did this to a client which is why they were in the process of firing him before he left. He is now at Caliber Home Loans, he is deceptive and treated me unfairly. He should not be allowed to work in this line of business as I am sure I am not an isolated case.Having me incur over {$3000.00} in expenses in addition to time and XXXX clearly demonstrates he is unethical.

Complaint: On XX/XX/2016 I received an escrow letter from Caliber Home Loans stating that My mortgage payment was going to increase from {$620.00} to {$1500.00} on XX/XX/2016 due to an escrow shortage caused by an HOA assessment in the amount of {$340.00}. I immediately contacted Caliber and spoke to XXXX who advised me that a check was being sent every month in the amount of {$340.00} to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Fl XXXX. I advised her that my association is XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Fl XXXX and my association fees are paid by me every month they are not included in my mortgage and that there are no special assessments on my property. After numerous phone calls and XXXX XXXX, 2016 fast approaching and nothing being resolved on XXXX/XXXX/16 I was forced to seek legal counsel to have to resolved before my mortgage was in default due to not being able to make payments that were not correct through no fault of my own. I had to pay {$900.00} to attorney XXXX XXXX to ave this issue resolved on XXXX/XXXX/2016 XXXX XXXX sent a letter requesting this be resolved and fortunately at this point my mortgage payment has been corrected. I am still currently out {$900.00} in attorney fees that Caliber does not seem to want to reimburse me for. This was something that had they not erroneously mismanaged my escrow account or at minimum resolved the issued when they received my letter and documentation supporting my mortgage should not be going up because this was an error on their part I would not have had to pay {$900.00} to an attorney

Complaint: I had asked Caliber Home Loans to be removed from e-statements and for them to mail me statements XX/XX/2016 because I would miss the e-statement emailed to me and accrued a late payment. They removed that late payment. Caliber Home Loans did not remove me from e-statements nor did they mail me a statement and I accrued another late payment penalty. I called again in XX/XX/XXXX requesting to be removed from e-statement and never receive a statement by mail. I called again in XX/XX/XXXX and explained how I have always paid in advance when I would receive my statement in the mail. Now this e-statement has messed up my payment history and wanted to receive statements by mail and asked to have my late fee waived. I have asked several times for it to be removed and Caliber Home Loans never did. My account shows me contacting them several times but with no response from Caliber Home Loans. I spoke to account representative and asked to speak with a manager. The account representative said that the manager was busy and would call me back. I have never received a call back from Caliber Home Loans. I asked for them to waive my late fee and they would not. I tried to pay my mortgage payment online but Caliber Home Loans would not allow me to make the mortgage payment without paying the late fee. So I mailed them a payment. Caliber Home Loans sent me a letter stating that my payment was posted to my suspense/unapplied funds account. What is that? How being late on two payments equal to a {$310.00} fee? Where in my mortgage does it state Caliber Home Loans can defer my mortgage payment to another account? How can Caliber Home Loans send me a letter but be negligent in sending me a statement in the mail?

Complaint: Dear CFPB, This is another of a long lists of complaints that I have written to you. Your last response was that, since I had procured legal assistance, you would wait until the process was complete and wanted to hear the results. I am getting ripped off. My Attorney, XXXX XXXX, seems to have no argumentative strength. Caliber Home Loans, who purchased a fraudulent mortgage against my home from XXXX, is attempting to force that my name be kept on the fraudulent mortgage. I have been fighting against this and communicating about it for eight years and nothing has happened. I have to request that you come into this fray. My husband stole {$600000.00} from me, he says because of a XXXX, and I am trying to keep my home. I have employed XXXX lawyers, have followed their advice, and here I am eight years later right where I started. Something has got to happen now! Please help!

Complaint: My current mortgage servicer Caliber Home Loans has been giving me the run around a will not allow me a loan modification. My loan got behind when I was injured thee oilfield with XXXX XXXX XXXX. After the XXXX I was told by the XXXX I would need to change my field of work as I would no longer be able to go back to my previous job. After XXXX and XXXX, I was declared fully XXXX. I has to go to school to be retrained in another field of work. During all this time I got behind on my mortgage and I has applied for a loan modification as I was living on a fixed income, the mortgage company was XXXX at this time and I was denied a modification each time I applied. They attempted foreclosure and I filed for bankruptcy. During the process of bankruptcy found out that XXXX had place force placed insurance onto my mortgage and they were given proof of insurance but they refuse to remove the charges. the attempt to file foreclosure went on for many years until the loan was sold to Caliber Home loans. I received a letter from Caliber home loans to inform me they had acquired the loan, a week later I received a letter with a date for foreclosure. I have filed numerous loan modifications with a denial as the results and I 'm still XXXX. I can no longer fine for bankruptcy, have not been successful in locating a Civil Suit attorney. I took my loan to a local Mortgage Broker to see if they could refinance for me. They were appalled at what they saw on my paperwork. They informed me the loan had been set up wrong, there was a interest rate on a medium credit score, there was an adjustable rate plan and they have me at a locked rate, they also reviewed the insurance information of the declaration pages. They informed me that from what they could see I had been targeted and racially discriminated against and take advantage of from the moment the loan was created. According the Broker what has taken place with me has happened to me has taken place before back XX/XX/XXXX involving numerous of families worldwide by XXXX and Caliber Home Loans was a company under the umbrella of XXXX. They reviewed the information requested by me, it was a breakdown of the charges and they could not figure out what all the unapplied or misc. fees were and this is what I wanted the break down for to determine what the charges were. I 've contacted XXXX numerous and you re only able to speak to a representative that answers the phone and each time it 's someone different and it 's a different story each time you try to get information. They are constantly attempting to foreclose on me however they have a foreclosure from XX/XX/XXXX they use in order to avoid going through the motions each time. I keep applying for a medication and they still deny. The mortgage broker states there are so many inconsistencies and charges and problems with the loan that I needed to file a complaint so that this could be looked into closer. I want to keep my home and will do whatever it takes, but when I purchased the home it was a {$120000.00} and now they have the payoff at {$200000.00} and the mortgage broker along with myself feel this is impossible even though there are missed payments. XXXX is a predatory lender and they will not refinance, modify as they see the equity in the home and all they want is the home. Please could someone look into this for all the discrepancies, I feel I deserve the change to keep my home, I ask for your help.

Complaint: I just received notice from the IRS that in 2014 a company I do not owe money to filed XXXX stating that they canceled a debt. I never received a copy of the XXXX to dispute at that time. I never had any kind of debt with this company and do n't understand how they can state a debt was canceled when I never owed them money to begin with. Now IRS is charging me additional taxes, interest, and penalties.

Complaint: Caliber continues to demonstrate their unwillingness to provide the exemplary customer service they say they strive to provide. They also demonstrate their inability to provide accurate and consistent information. We want to know why the letter they provided on XXXX XXXX, XXXX was addressed to me at XXXX , GA XXXX. The letter pertained to CFPB Case Number : XXXX. Single Point of Contact : Caliber was provided with a letter that Beneficial sent on XXXX XXXX, XXXX that stated our home loan was 30 days in default and they were required by New York State Law to provide the letter because as they stated we were " at risk of losing '' our home. When Caliber took over the servicing of our loan on XXXX XXXX, XXXX we immediately phoned customer service to clear up the errors created by XXXX as not only were we not behind in payments, we were well ahead. The customer service department on more than one occasion told us that the XXXX records were difficult to sort out. We continued to call. No single point of contact was assigned as required by NYS Law. We did not receive statements from Caliber of our account in XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. We did not get any assistance from calling the customer service number. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I spoke with Shaniqua ( agent # XXXX ) in customer service. After that conversation we faxed copies of bank checks along with additional supporting information on XXXX XXXX, XXXX at XXXX. We have the fax confirmation. So XXXX records of our first complaint coming in XXXX XXXX are incorrect. We were making complaints and calling customer service all along and no single point of contact was assigned as required by law. XXXX response was to simply send us a record of our payments from XXXX XXXX forward. Because we were not getting anywhere with Caliber 's customer service we filed complaints with the NYS Attorney General 's Office, CFPB and the NYS Banking Division, Mortgage Department. After this they assigned a single point of contact, XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX was not reachable and no one else in that department was able to assist us. At no time did XXXX XXXX respond to our requests for assistance. No research of our account was completed by XXXX XXXX. It was n't until XXXX XXXX of XXXX revealed the agreement they had with Caliber and requested we send her a copy of the letter we received from Caliber directing us back to XXXX did something start to happen. XXXX informed us that our new single point of contact would be XXXX XXXX, vice president of single point of contact. At no time did customer service or the customer escalations department offer to assist us in researching and resolving our issues. We were directed multiple times to go back to the prior servicer. We would like a listing about what actions XXXX XXXX took on our behalf between XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Caliber has sent us a payment history generated by XXXX. They stated that " it is our practice to work to resolve any disputes or issues on a loan with the prior servicer on your behalf. '' We would like to have the history explained to us including : Bucket XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX that appears in the Description column. Deferred Interest and Deferred Interest Sweep in the Description column. An explanation as to why they stated in letters of XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX ( 2 letters ), and XXXX XXXX, XXXX that " Please be advised Caliber is unable to confirm any actions or provide any answers in regards to the previous servicer as we are not affiliated with them. In order to have these concerns adequately addressed, you should contact your prior servicer directly '' when they are now saying they will do the research with the prior servicer on our behalf.
