Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: On XX/XX/2018 XXXX XXXX. announced its U.S. Commercial Firearms Policy which will have the effect of preventing me from purchasing legally available firearms accessories and prevent US citizens under the age of XXXX from exercising their Constitutional Rights. The Policy has the ability to stifle free trade and hinder commerce especially of firearm manufacturers and dealers.
I fear this policy could be the the first of many that would hinder commerce of many sectors of the business community as Citigroup attempts to impose its definition of " best practices '' on US industry.

Complaint: As a law abiding gun owner I am deeply upset on how banking corporations are threatening business owners for exercising their Second Amendment rights.
It feels like yesterday when these corporations received nearly half a trillion dollars in taxpayer-backed guarantees and cash after putting the entire financial system at risk. Citigroup as well as XXXX XXXX XXXX have no business threatening law abiding business owners for exercising their Second Amendment rights. The only reason that they are even in business today is because American taxpayers bailed them out during the Great Recession. Instead of imposing its political agenda on the American people, they ought to be finding ways to help these mostly small businesses grow. They certainly shouldnt be threatening Constitutional rights.
Law-abiding gun owners have legitimate concerns about possible collusion and collective efforts between banks and/or banks and advocacy groups aimed at denying them services simply for exercising their rights under the U.S. Constitution and laws.
Once financial institutions take it upon themselves to set social policy that exceeds the requirements of the law, its impossible to know where they will stop or what other indicators of disfavored activity might become relevant to them. No American should be treated as a scapegoat for someone elses crimes.

Complaint: This is a complaint on Citibank 's new policy discriminating against customers because they don't believe in the customers 2nd Amendment rights of law abiding United States citizens.
The company took billions of dollars in bail out money without questioning whether the tax payers that paid for it were 2nd amendment advocates or not. This new discriminatory policy is hypocritical at best. If they chose to have the basis be religion, race, gender, XXXX orientation or if you used your freedom of speech to express an opposing viewpoint, the outcry would cause them to be fined or put out of business. The constitutional protection for the 2nd amendment is no different.
Citibank must stop discriminating against law abiding citizens. It is unethical for them to try to use their influence to dictate to customers what XXXX owners, purchases, sellers and manufactures constitutional rights are.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2018 Citibank decided that it would require customers to enact extra-legal limitations on the legal commerce of firearms and accessories. To the extent that this represents an unacceptable infringement of Constitutionally protected civil rights by a bank that only recently was bailed out by American taxpayers, I ask that Citibank be censured, reprimanded, or otherwise face severe consequence in terms of their future business dealings and with the American government and citizens. The right of a private business to conduct their affairs as they see fit must be respected, however this does not mean that these actions must or should be supported by the US government or citizens.
I did raise these concerns with Citibank reps by phone calls and mailed letters, receiving the reply XX/XX/XXXX that Citi would not be reconsidering their actions. Subsequently I have cancelled all accounts with Citibank, which represents a restraint on free trade and legal commerce of legal goods.

Complaint: XX/XX/2018 : Online order that I attempted to pay using my Citigroup credit card was halted and flagged with a fraud alert. This is unusual in my experience. I do appreciate their attention to the growing complexity of fraud. However, the purchases had to do with firearms and combined with Citigroups recent actions that discriminate against customers based on lawful firearm-related business activities leads me to be deeply concerned they are blatantly violating consumer rights and engaging in unfair practices.

Complaint: Two banks CITI and XXXX XXXX XXXX are now saying they will stop doing business and extending credit with business and maybe in the future people who are involved in the gun industry and rights.
These activities are legal under law and the banks are using their power to dictate what happens in the US shutting out business and people who they disagree with then controlling the public.
This tactic in the future could be used against anything they disagree with or want to control or sway in the country.
This situation sounds highly worrisome.

Complaint: I am writing in complaint of the newly adopted discriminatory practices of XXXX XXXX XXXX and Citigroup against companies and individuals who are simply following the law and are interested in practicing their legal rights to items not restricted by state or federal government. Their new measures block and individual from purchasing guns without a background check or who are younger than XXXX. It also bars the sale of bump stocks and high-capacity magazines. It would apply to clients who offer credit cards backed by Citigroup or borrow money, use banking services or raise capital through the company.
It is not the place for a bank or any company to create legislation or laws outside of the normal process of elected government. The consumers who use banking and credit services have no elected representation within XXXX XXXX XXXX or Citigroup so they have no recourse to prevent their freedoms and rights from being violated by private companies. These banks are effectively creating the same effect as a government creating a law, but it is being done without the normal representation and protection every American has under government. Blocking commerce is effectively destroying liberty. When s Bank is as big as these two banks and they decide to make it impossible to purchase legal items, not only do they destroy the freedom and liberty of individuals through the blocking of their ability to own products, but they immediately destroy private companies who are merely trying to practice their dream of building a legal business.
Should the United States take action to make the legal age to purchase a gun to be XXXX, then that will be the law of the land and Americans that disagree will have the powers granted to us under the courts to pursue correction, however we do not have such protection when a bank blocks commerce and blocks Americans from purchasing a legal item.
How would it be any different if XXXX or Citigroup opted to block the sale of Bibles or any materials that say XXXX is a sin? Where the bank might disagree, the 1st amendment is a protection of free speech, but if a bank feels the 1st amendment should not allow specific speech, they could powerfully destroy that liberty by making sure no American could purchase anything that supported beliefs the banks do not believe in.
I urge you to take these complaints seriously. If not blocked, these two banks and possibly others will be emboldened to pursue addition social change through their lending actions. This is a threat to our constitution and our very way of life that should scare and concern every American regardless of their personal beliefs.

Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: I purchased a Toolbox online combo ( upper, middle and bottom ) Toolbox. The Toolbox was not heavy enough for my needs. ( I am a XXXX ) I ordered another combo Heavier than the first one. I returned the first one to the store where I picked it up. ( saving shipping fee ) The credit was first put back on my card but was taken off again saying that I did not proof it was returned. The store said that they wanted proof it was paid for after repeated times to resolve this I keep getting the run around. This was a SEARS MASTER CARD.
I ended up getting a loan to pay this card and another card off.
( sick of dealing with the XXXX XXXX ) The amount that should be returned is {$320.00}. Before this SEARS tried to take {$500.00} off my card but ended up putting it back on.The SEARS store where I picked up the Toolbox combo is not help ( just making it worse ). I have reached the end of patience with dealing with SEARS. I would like to get the amount of {$320.00} back. Complaint: I am a 20 year XXXX XXXX service member. I have a family of XXXX. My wife is XXXX. I had orders to move to Florida. I lost a substantial amount of income and initially asked about a short sale 3years ago and was told my account wasnt eligible. I found out later by my commanding officer that I should be eligible since the orders forced me to move. Citimortgage finally agreed. I have had 3 offers submitted at their asking price. The first offer at the last minute they changed the price and I lost that buyer. They have since raised the price to XXXX which is inconsistent with other short sales I the area. I feel as though they are discriminating against me. Why would a buyer expect to pay full price on a short sale. I am asking they reevaluate the price point also there needs to be some accountability for timelyness. They took so long to approve the offer that I lost 2 more buyers. I think they are trying to force me into foreclosure.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: Citi Group has decided to regulate how the card user can utilize the card for purchases. This wasn't included in any agreement when the card was opened for the consumers use.
The new rules Cit bank has created limits purchases that state NO firearms / weapons are allowed to be purchased without a background check on the charge cards.
Any FFL dealer by law, does this check prior to any sale anyway. Limiting what accessories that can be purchased with the charge card is discrimination to the account holders choice of " free purchase '' decisions made in the USA.
I am a valid XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX veteran and have worked in XXXX XXXX.
Limiting my accessories capabilities for my weapons is preposterous.
This act by Citi Group is a complete dictatorship type control when the account is based solely on the consumers approval to obtain, usage of the cards, and remitting payments against purchases made on the accounts. Lack of use of any account doesn't net profits Citi Group in any way shape or form.
If this idea of selecting only " specific '' items not allowed to be purchased was not in the agreements when the card was opened. I would've selected a different card company to conduct business with if that had been the case. Pretty simple.
Furthermore, I'll be paying off my account with Citi Group just for this reason, and will not be using the card for anything else from here on out. It appears Citi Group has more than enough customers and business profits elsewhere to thrive on to allow this outrageous act to slam their quarterly gains/profits as a major banking institution.
This was a serious poor decision on this banking institutions behalf. This company 's decision to act on events that happened in the USA ( which doesn't concern them ) stemming from " other entities type violence '' shows how easily coerced Citi Group really is. Not good for any consumer wishing to sign up for a credit line with Citi Group.
I'm guessing they forgot who bailed them out when times were tough during the recession of 2007?

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: I am making this complaint to voice my distress and anger over the recent movement by large banks like Citibank and XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX deciding to discriminate against law abiding citizens based solely on their political position.
I am specifically referring to these corporations decided to not provide banking services to companies that legally produce and/or sell firearms. This is completely counter to the idea of the " free market '' and it is nothing more than outright discrimination.
I am certain that somewhere in the application process these companies provide potential employees with a statement along the lines of : We are and EQUAL OPPORTUNITY employer. We will not DISCRIMINATE against anyone based on race, gender, religion, or POLITICAL AFFILIATION.
By making this decision these companies are circumventing the long standing democratic process of the United States. As private companies they are free to use their money and power to press for the political change they want to see, but only to a point. If they want to support anti 2nd amendment candidates for election that's fine. If they want to hire lobbyist to convince law makers to vote for anti gun legislation, that too is fine. But for a company to say they will not provide their services to a person or company because they're stance on a political issue is counter to their own is just wrong.
Its just as wrong as a company refusing to provide services to a company or person because they are a minority, or they are of a certain religion. This decision will undoubtedly hurt these companies financially in the long run. As an example I can state unequivocally that I will not utilize financial services from any company that decides to follow this misguided, anti democratic, anti American policy. I realize that anyone reading this may be thinking " big deal, one guy '' but allow me to remind the reader that 30 % of Americans are gun owners and of the percentage that don't 36 % intend to purchase one in the future. That is one XXXX of a voting block and one XXXX of a chunk of the consumers in the United States.

Complaint: I am a XXXX and XXXX in XXXX California, I have a family of XXXX, I love this country. There has been an alarming issue arising with Citibank and XXXX XXXX XXXX over the recent months, according to congressional reports there appears to be a policy adopted by these corporate giants to restrict use of their financial services in the purchase of firearms. This discriminatory practice is alarming to me as a citizen of this counrtry and as a gun owner. To think that these banks, which were bailed out with our tax dollars, now seek to perform some sort of social engineering by infringing on our rights is disgusting. I know there are actions in Congress aimed at this phenomenon, I would just like to officially register my complaint that this audacious attempt by corporate giants to control citizens is outrageous.

Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Complaint: I opened a Citi bank priority checking account on XX/XX/XXXX and funded with {$50000.00} in order meet a promotion to receive XXXX bonus points. I opened the account at the XXXX XXXX XXXX branch with a banker. The promotion required that the account be funded with {$50000.00} have 2 consecutive direct deposits within 60 days of opening the account. My first direct deposit was completed on XX/XX/XXXX and I did not remove my direct deposit from this account since. If I completed the activities stated above I would receive XXXX points.
I spoke to my banker that opened my account in XX/XX/XXXX to find out the status of my points since I have not yet received. He said that I should be receiving them soon. I then waited until XX/XX/XXXX to follow up with my banker and he did not respond. I emailed him again on XX/XX/XXXX. He then responded and said he would look into it. I received to response. I then emailed him again onXX/XX/XXXX and I did not receive a response. I decided to then call Citi customer service since my banker was not responsive. They said they would complete an investigation and get back to me ( reference # XXXX ). I then received a letter with investigation results on XX/XX/XXXX. The results said that I did not complete 2 consecutive direct deposits within 60 days. I checked my account and I in fact had 2 consecutive direct deposits within 60 days of opening the account on XX/XX/XXXX. The first being on XX/XX/XXXX and the next deposit was on XX/XX/XXXX. I then called to discuss these inaccurate findings. I was transferred to multiple parties and no one was able to help. I finally came across a customer service representative that was willing to help. He said agreed that I completed the required actions to receive the bonus points and he had to speak to his manager to have this corrected. He called me to update me on the status and let me know that the issue was not yet resolved and then stopped calling me. Of course, there was no way for me to contact him directly. This issue has still not been resolved and I am exhausted trying to work this out directly with Citi bank.

Fee problem
Complaint: I have been a customer of Citibank for over 16 years. Within the past two years, the Bank began to sneakily begin charging me a {$25.00} service fee every month. Despite never having had to pay this fee before, they began charging it to me without my knowledge or notification. I called today about the fee, and it was clear that this was instituted to catch people like me off-guard, as I was able to move, without any difference in service, to a free account. They were only willing to reimburse me for three months of the fees, however, despite the fact that I have paid more than 10 of such feed.
