Complaint: My husband was laid off of his job in XX/XX/XXXX and we were able to maintain our mortgage payments until XX/XX/XXXX. We applied for the home affordable mortgage ( HAMP ) program with our current servicer, Carrington Mortgage, on XX/XX/XXXX. We received a non-approval notice from them dated XXXX. We requested information about applying for a short sale under the home affordable foreclosure alternatives ( HAFA ) program on XX/XX/XXXX. We submitted all the required documents and our home listing with the realtor on XX/XX/XXXX to the servicer. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX, we received a notification from the servicer that the initial package for the short sale was completed and we should receive an approval or denial response within 45 days. During this time, the home was been shown to potential buyers and on XX/XX/XXXX we received an offer from a buyer and signed the paperwork to move the process forward for selling the home. The servicer was notified of the offer.
On XX/XX/XXXX, the servicer sent a vendor to the home and he destroyed the lock casings on the front and back doors, destroyed the lockbox and replaced ( rekeyed ) the lock on the door leading to the deck. The doors to the basement were left wide open and the home was subjected to vandalism and our household property was subjected to being taken by thiefs. No trespassing signs were placed on the property courtesy of Carrington Mortgage. Therefore we were locked out of home and unable to be on the property, which still contained our furniture and personal property and prevented the potential buyer ( s ) from inspecting the home. We spent a lot of time preparing and maintaining the home and grounds for the sale, but we were no longer allowed an the property even the property was not foreclosed. We felt our rights had been violated by the servicer.
We contacted Carrington on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire as to why the property was locked up and basement doors left open with a pending offer on the table. On XX/XX/XXXX we were told they would send us a set of keys to the new lock. We resubmitted another HAFA package ( on XX/XX/XXXX ) due to numerous threats by Carrington to foreclose on the property even though we had complied with everything requested of us to prevent a foreclosure. On XX/XX/XXXX we received a set of keys ( XXXX ) from the servicer stating XXXX of them would open the lock on the door leading to the deck. We went to the home ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and discovered the front door wide open and the basement doors remained opened. None of the keys fit any locks to the home. We went inside the home and found some damage to all the exterior locks, trash left inside the home and window treatments destroyed. We locked up the home to prevent further damage and prevent our personal property from being stolen ( but this also prevented us from reentering the home and the buyer from inspecting the home because we did n't have keys to the rekeyed locks ). I contacted the servicer on XX/XX/XXXX and informed the representative about the keys not fitting the locks and was told someone from home retention would call me the next day ( I left my contact number ). On XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Carrington again to report the issue with the keys and was finally connected to XXXX XXXX in home retention. I explained the situation to her and was promised that a new set of keys would be sent overnight to me. This has been a very stressful, unpleasant and inconvenient experience for me and my family. Carrington failed to properly communicate ( even when I provided our contact information to them ) any of this with us or the VA, which is the holder of our mortgage. They mishandled this matter by taking possession of the home without properly notifying us of their decision on our initial completed HAFA short sale package or pursuing foreclosure proceedings, as required by Georgia law.

Complaint: We have a VA home loan that is in default with Carrington Mortgage Service. We applied for a deed in lieu of foreclosure. We are at the point of getting an appraisal but the mortgage company does not have an agent assigned as a single point of contact managing our case. We have not gotten anything in writing about the deed in lieu process. We do n't know our rights and responsibilities as customers. Carrington has not offered clear communication about our rights and responsibilities as customers participating in their deed in lieu of foreclosure option. There seems to be no accountability in mortgage companies and this seems to be our only recourse.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services released my social security number to another customer. That customer contacted me to inform me of what had happened and said they would delete the file. When I went to XXXX XXXX who released my info, I was told that never happens. That is not good enough. I feel that company should provide me with credit monitoring at their expense! This company from the start was neglegant beyond belief! XXXX our purchase property address, which they claim was a mistake on my end of course. I think I now where I live! They sent me a Uniform Residential Loan Application that XXXX XXXX, not myself, filled out showing our present address as XXXX XXXX as well as the purchase property. I also told them my grandmother needed to walk away with $ XXXX, they listed that as the purchase price making that inpossible after all of their fees. Also, he listed my husbands employer as XXXX XXXX XXXX and not his current one of XXXX XXXX. This is not the credit app I filled out! After complaining about these mistakes I was told they fired XXXX and I was not the only loan that he XXXX. I do n't believe that either! After over 60 days of promises to close XXXX different times and providing us with our locked in rate and approval they denied us stating our debt to income was all of the sudden an issue. I saved every email from the start of this companies lies. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and we have yet to receive anything about our denial and why all of the sudden it occured. The whole experience with this company was horrible and they should be aloud to provide servide to anyone!

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services has " lost '' {$700.00} of payments that I have paid towards my mortgage. They are considering me late and charging me monthly late fees. I have contacted them numerous times, provided copies of cashiers checks with no resolution. The " history '' they provided is so scattered it does n't clearly show me where the funds the were applied. Either they have violated RESPA with overfunding my escrow account or they have misapplied my mortgage payments.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage Services LLC sent a letter dtd XXXX XXXX 2015 advising that it did not receive our XXXX XXXX mortgage payment. I sent a fax that included printouts from my XXXX XXXX Bank account showing that the check was mailed for delivery by XXXX XXXX 2015 and cashed on XXXX XXXX 2015. Today I requested from XXXX XXXX Bank physical evidence that the check was cashed. I received a letter today from Carrington advising that they did not act on my fax of XXXX XXXX 2015 because I had not signed it. Never mind that it contained printouts from my bank account proving my identity and the error was theirs not mine. Today, I received a XXXX delinquency notice and a threat that I will be foreclosed and could lose our home if they do not have this supposedly missing payment by XXXX XXXX 2015. We recently went through a year of hell because XXXX sold our XXXX mortgage to those parasites at XXXX. Now XXXX sold my VA loan to this Carrington crowd which so far looks a lot like XXXX from where I 'm sitting.

Complaint: In XXXX 2015 my husband and I requested a loan mortgage modification with our current mortgage servicer, Carrington Mortgage, but we were denied in XXXX 2015 ( we have a VA loan ). We had no choice but to pursue a short sale, which we discussed with Carrington Mortgage. We completed the required paperwork and obtained a realtor to process the short sale. We moved out of the home in XXXX 2015 to prepare the home for viewing by potential buyers. The realtor submitted the short sale paperwork to our servicer. On XXXX XXXX, 2015, the realtor contacted the servicer with updates. We received an offer today ( XXXX/XXXX/2015 ) for the home and signed to paperwork. My husband went to the home to mow the lawn and discovered that the lock box was cut off the front door and the locks were changed without our knowledge. We never received a letter from an attorney regarding a pending foreclosure sale. We are very upset because we were not notified the servicer would take possession of the home because we were in the process of trying to sell the home, which we have received an offer. I believe they have violated Georgia laws regarding home possession. We are trying to avoid a foreclosure.

Complaint: I set up my monthly payment to be paid through my online bill pay through my bank, XXXX. It was set up to be paid on XXXX XXXX, 2015. Today, XXXX XXXX, 2015 I received notification from my bank I had been overdrawn due to Carrington Mortgage Services cashing my check before the XXXX XXXX, 2015 date on the check. According to representatives at XXXX bank, they informed me that Carrington should not have cashed the check before XXXX XXXX, 2015, and they viewed the check image that showed the date of the check as XXXX/XXXX/2015. My bank account has been overdrawn, and I received a fee ( XXXX is working with me and waiving the fee due to it being the fault of Carrington ). XXXX is not able to refund my money until later today or tomorrow at the earliest. I called and spoke with a representative from Carrington Mortgage Services and they said there is nothing they can do until the check is returned in their system, but agreed that they should not have cashed the check early. Now, I must wait to see if they try to re-deposit the check or if I will have to resubmit a new payment entirely.

Complaint: Loan was transferred from XXXX XXXX XXXX to Carrington Mortgage Services as of XXXX XXXX, 2015. Due to the account showing as a " closed account '', my credit score decreased drastically, making me unable to refinance the loan. After contacting Carrington time and time again, they originally stated that they had a XXXX day window to report the loan to the credit bureaus due to CFPB regs. After continued calls, they first stated that because reporting occurred on the XXXX, it would be until the following month. Then in XXXX, they stated it would n't report until the XXXX. Lastly, they stated that they had already reported it and would be appearing on the credit report by the end of the month. The situation has not been resolved. It is XXXX XXXX, 2015.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage was in charge of servicing our loan from XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, 2015 and they never paid our property taxes from our escrow! The property taxes were due by XXXX XXXX, 2015 and still have not been paid as of today ( XXXX XXXX, 2015 ). I have been in contact with Carrington mortgage several times with regards to this matter, through e mails ( corresponses with XXXX ) and even phone conversations with a women by the name of XXXX in there Tax disbursement department and have gotten nowhere.
They have since sold my loan to a new mortgage servicer effective XXXX XXXX, 2015 we are now with XXXX XXXX. I have spoken to several people at XXXX XXXX and as of today XXXX XXXX has never sent me a welcome letter or a loan number or even a statement. I was under the impression that they had 15 days to get that to me which they have failed to do and when I contact them they said that they still have not logged my loan file into the computer so they dont see anything. I women by the name of XXXX from XXXX funding is telling me this morning that they sent out a welcome letter on friday, XXXX XXXX which I do not believe to be true because I gave ive been checking the mail every day and still nothing and today is now the XXXX. I then aske Her if she could fax me a copy of the welcome letter ... she was not able to produce it to me because she said my loan wasnt entered into there system yet! I too have sent several letters by fax, had countless telephone conversations with several of there staff, with ragards to my property taxes not being paid back in XXXX of 2015. And i am being told that once i am logged into there system that they can try to look into the property taxes! Im frustrated beyond belief and I feel like Iam getting the run around! I need answers! i have even been in contact with the XXXX and they have not received any response from Carrington Mortgage! There is so much going on with these XXXX mortgage companies that needs to be looked into! Please help!
