Complaint: On XXXX I made an online mortgage payment to Carrington Mortgage Services. On XXXX I was informed that the payment was returned from my bank, so I made another payment and stored my routing number and checking account number. On XXXX i was again contacted by Carrington, who informed me that the payment was returned and that I " must have put in the wrong number. '' And, that I was turned into the credit bureau. I talked to another person on XXXX who verified, that I indeed had the correct information stored. I filed a complaint with the client advocacy department who said they would investigate -- received a phone call back, could not understand the return phone. So I have owned the home for almost 10 years, 8 1/2 which was with XXXX. Never, ever had a late payment. it is impossible to get through their main number so I go through XXXX. So the Carrington rep. on XXXX verified that the correct info. was stored, so they said they would pull the phone call. In the meantime, the only late ( false ) mortgage payment ever reported to the bureau. Plus, when I made the payments on XXXX and XXXX electronically, I received a confirmation email saying the payment was made. I believe they are committing fraud and need to be investigated because i see many other complaints online about them for similar reasons.

Complaint: I originally had a fixed rate HUD loan through the XXXX XXXX XXXX. It was sold to Carrington Mortgage a few months ago. After a few months of their ownership the loan was increased by XXXX per month with no legitimate reason. The reason I say this is, I was given an explaination by one of Carringtons employees. When I went to my municipalities Clerks office as well as the Assessors office what they told me did not match what Carringtons employee told me. According to Carrington, there was a new educational building being built and there was new assesments on our properties. That is not the case the City official verified that. So somewhere there is a mistake or something is not right with this company. This needs to be looked into. How often are they doing this type of thing to homeowners? I have attempted to get further detailed information but I have n't received anything yet.

Complaint: Carrington Mortgage is reporting a mortgage the that we have paid on-time for 11 years as closed and part of our bankruptcy. This mortgage was NOT part of our bankruptcy plan. It was paid outside the plan, by us, directly to Carrington exactly as our bk plan clearly states. None of the Carrington debt was discharged, but they are reporting that it was.The bk is also discharged now so even if the status changed DURING the bankruptcy, it should be corrected now that the case is discharged. ( This was the case with my student loan. It was listed as closed then within 30 days of discharged, it changed to Open and Active. ) I 've disputed this issue will all XXXX bureaus XXXX, but Carrington keeps saying that it 's reporting correctly. I 've called Carrington at least XXXX times, but no XXXX can help. I found a number for their Research Department and Customer Advocate info online so I sent them both a fax describing the issue. ( They ca n't be reached by phone. ) This error is seriously impacting our credit score and costing us an extra 2 % on a new mortgage that we are taking out.

Complaint: I stopped paying my mortgage XX/XX/XXXX at the advice of a real estate lawyer. My mortgage company still has not foreclosed on it. The house burned down XX/XX/XXXX. I notified them and paid them the insurance money from that. They continue to call me over and over, and every time they do n't seem to know anything about my situation. They continue to delay my foreclosure for reasons unknown to me. I think it has to do with trying to give me assistance, even though I 've declined that for years. I 'm tired of nothing happening and them not knowing what is going on.

Complaint: I am concerned that the practices employed by Carrington Mortgage Services ( XXXX, CA XXXX are intended to devastate homeowners. After my own experience and then reading complaints to the XXXX with regard to other homeowners who 's loans have been bought from XXXX XXXX XXXX, I am gravely concerned about Carrington 's practices.
On XXXX XXXX, 2015, I received notice of registered mail from Carrington Mortgage Services as well as a mortgage statement. I called immediately and learned at that time that Carrington had bought my home mortgage loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX 2015 and the mortgage was in foreclosure due to nonpayment. This was the first correspondence I had received from Carrington.
My mortgage payment has been automatically drafted from my bank account for as long as I 've held my mortgage. I had never been late, not even on XXXX payment in all of the years since purchasing my home. When I checked with my bank the following morning ( Saturday, XXXX XXXX ), I learned that my mortgage payment had indeed, not been drafted from my account since Carrington bought the loan. However, the amount due was available in my bank account but when I tried to make that payment to bring my loan current ( according to the mortgage statement I was mailed, the bill was due by XXXX XXXX, 2015 ), Carrington customer service told me that by federal regulations, they could not accept the payment, that the mortgage was in Foreclosure and that I would need to request a reinstatement -- of which would include a reinstatement fee. I was told that the Reinstatement Notification would be sent within XXXX hours. I received the Reinstatement Notification 4 days later.
My concerns : I was not contacted by registered mail prior to my home going into foreclosure, I am concerned if federal guidelines were in fact followed with regard to not accepting payment by due date listed on the mortgage statement I received on XXXX XXXX, I am concerned with the amount of the reinstatement fee ( 'corporate/expense advances ), I am concerned that the reinstatement fee is only a quote and that Carrington will add additional charges, I am concerned that the nonpayment of my mortgage was repeatedly reported to my credit -- all before registered correspondence was sent.
Whether I had not received notice due to an error in Carrington 's part for a typo ( incorrect address ) or for some other unforeseen reason, the moment I learned of the problem, I tried to bring my loan current. As of yesterday morning, the 'Total Reinstatement Quote ' was sent through XXXX ; however, when I called to inquire on the account, I was told that it would take XXXX hours to reflect on my account in which case additional charges and notifications could accumulate ( even though Carrington has received the funds ).
I am greatly concerned with Carrington Mortgage Services practices. I feel that Carrington should have contacted me through Registered mail long before my mortgage went into foreclosure. Especially considering the mailing address was different than the property address which should be the same. Had they insured that correspondence was reaching me, I would not have had to pay an additional {$1000.00} reinstatement " quote '' and my credit would not have been affected. In the least, I would like negative reporting to my credit to be erased. Additionally, from reading XXXX complaints, it looks as if the company has increased all mortgages bought from XXXX XXXX XXXX to cover 'deficits in escrow. Is it realistic that everyone 's escrow account was found to be deficient?

Complaint: I lost my job during the economic crash in XXXX and could not regain my salary until XXXX and have been asking to get a fresh start loan modification and Carrington Mortgage denied me because I make too much now. There is no way I can reinstate for of XXXX. HELP I must save my house. Complaint: I did a refi/streamline on my home loan in XXXX, received my payment coupon for XXXX which said 0 due and I will attach this, when I received my payment coupon for XXXX it said that I missed my XXXX payment and now owed a double payment, I called the company and faxed in the payment coupon they had sent me, I also texted my loan officer, they called me a couple of days later and apologized but that that coupon was for the previous loan and not the new one and they were sorry that I did n't get the correct coupon but that the XXXX payment was still showing late and that they could n't change it and that I still owe the double payment, this is affecting my credit and is not fair to me the consumer, the lady from Carrington apologized and said she felt bad but that there was nothing she could do. I followed their payment coupon and now I am being penalized for their mistake

Complaint: in 2014 I was taken off work XXXX. I was current on my mortgage until XXXX 2014 when my income was cut out in over half. I tried to work with the mortgage company Carrington mortgage company XXXX XXXXXXXX. They told me I could get mortgage assistance and they have used excuse from not having the proper documents but they had in their possession. Then they wanted more proof of pay stubs, which again once I received them I sent them in. I have done everything to fix this issue and they refuse to help they are rude unprofessional and I have tried everything. I do not want to lose my home and made that perfectly clear but they wont help me at all. I would like a lower payment and time to resolve this issue fairly. Complaint: Carrington mortage company bought my load from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I 've been making my payments through them since XXXX. Always on time, never late. They have still yet to report my payments to the credit bureau and my credit score is dropping because of it. Also, they Increased my escrow by XXXX $ and I have no clu why. I ca n't get anywhere over the phone. I sit on hold for an hour and eventually get told to call back, all supervisors are busy. I 've asked repeatedly for someone to call me back, I have yet to get a returned call. I need help. What do I do? How do I get my historical and current payments reported to credit? How do I figure out why my escrow increased when my insurance stayed the same.

Complaint: Our XXXX loan was sold to Carrington Mortgage Services. After two months, they said we could get into a program to reduce our indebtedness on our home since we were underwater. Carrington then sold the loan to XXXX XXXX for approximate value of our house. Carrington was paid in full for the loan yet they reported that we short sold the loan. Since we still live in the house, this is impossible. Senator XXXX XXXX 's office has stated that we were not in any Nevada home refinance program. Note that Carrington purchased the loan in XXXX 2014 and sold it in XXXX of 2014. The report on our credit prevents us from obtaining lower interest in a refinance for three years.
Note also that we never signed any paperwork with Carrington
