Complaint: I had a capital one credit card since XXXX and I never missed a payment. I usually made payments through my XX/XX/XXXX account. Fast forward to XXXX I lose my debit card from XX/XX/XXXX so i start making payments from my sisters bank account. On the capital one app there is no option to delete a payment method! Only to add a new one! So I add my sisters debit card and make a payment ( ON TIME ) the next month comes around and I go on the app and make a payment for {$300.00}. Unknowingly choosing the wrong bank account ( because theres no option to delete a payment method that you can no longer use ). After a week I get a notification saying that the payment was returned. I call capital one and they say to call my bank. I call my bank and they tell me the funds are available that there shouldnt be a problem. Now at this moment I have no idea that I chose the wrong payment option so I dont know whats going on. Next monthly payment is due and I try and make a {$1000.00} payment I wait a week while it says processing and after that week it tells me returned again. So I call capital one again and they tell me to call my bank. Now this time I call my bank and the lady tells me she doesnt see any transactions for {$1000.00} and thats when I went back on the app and saw that I had been choosing the wrong payment option! So I chose the right option and made the payment and it went through only for capital one to close my account a week later because of fraudulent activity how is this fraudulent activity? It wasnt a random account I was trying to make the payment with it was a account that I had used to make payments for 2 years! Because the capital one app doesnt have the option to remove payment methods! I think it is very unfair for them to have closed my account because of 2 missed payments. When I called capital one they said there was nothing they can do and there was no way to reopen my account.

I highly recommend you generate verification that CAPITAL ONE has been reported completely in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulations, it's really a serious problem to mis-report. Moreconfirmation of the aforesaid item too. My proper request mustover, I was never 30 days/60 days/120 days late in any of my payments and I'm not greatly tuned in to the date opened so I prefer to ask your be investigated as soon as possible and confirmed to be correct. Complaint: Fr : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX Re : Case Number XXXX Card Number last four XXXX Claim Number at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This is a detailed summary of the problems I have been having with Capital One regarding a dispute over {$1300.00} with XXXX XXXX XXXX. 1 ) The original amount billed on XX/XX/XXXX was {$3000.00}. See attached sales invoice ( Incl 1 ) This amount is an estimate of the out of pocket expenses that I would occur for a medical procedure. XXXX XXXX XXXX required me to pay that amount on XX/XX/2019 or forgo the medical procedure. I was told by the clerk on check-in I would be refunded the difference should the estimate be higher than actual cost. The exact amount to be paid is set by the medical insurance company XXXX. Once that amount is reach XXXX issues an EOB ( Explanation of Benefits ) which show exactly how much I own XXXX XXXX XXXX. 2 ) See the EOB ( Incl 2 ). The highlighted part shown the amount owned by me, which is agreed upon by XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. That amount is {$1600.00}. See Incl 2 *1 3 ) On page 4 of 5 of the EOB, XXXX clearing states IF YOU ALREADY PAID YOUR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL MORE THAN THE WHAT I OWE AMOUNT, PLEASE ASK FOR A REFUND. HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL, YOUR XXXX AGREEMENT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO BILL THE PATIENT FOR THE DIFFERENCE. See Incl 2 *2 4 ) On XX/XX/2019 I asked the Health Care Professional ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) for a refund of the difference. ( {$1300.00} ) That was calculated as follows. Originally paid {$3000.00}, the correct amount should have been {$1600.00}, XXXX XXXX owns me {$1300.00}. They would not issue a refund. 5 ) When the billing department at XXXX XXXX would not issue me a refund on XX/XX/2019 I called Capital one and disputed the charge in the amount owned me {$1300.00}. 6 ) 1 ) On XX/XX/2019 XXXX XXXX disputed my challenge with Capital One Visa and the charge of {$1300.00} was placed back on my VISA. 7 ) I call on XX/XX/2019 I called XXXX Customer Service and talk with XXXX XXXX She talked with a XXXX at XXXX Hospital Billing ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), who said she would write a credit of the {$1300.00} 8 ) When I did not receive a credit by XX/XX/2019 I filed another dispute and received another temporary credit from Capital one Visa after filing another dispute. 9 ) On XX/XX/2019 XXXX XXXX disputed the refund again ; they never issued a credit and Capital One Visa place the {$1300.00} back on my card. 10 ) XXXX XXXX owns my {$1300.00} and will not reimburse the money and Capital One Visa has ruled in their favor regardless of the amount of evidence I produced. 11 ) On XX/XX/2019, XXXX at XXXX XXXX told me their merchant account had been debited the {$1300.00} by Capital one and the monies never returned. Therefore they would not issue a refund. They told me to call Capital One. 12 ) On XX/XX/2019 at XXXX I called Capital One and spoke with " XXXX '' a Manager in disputes on Capital One on a recording line. I ask her if Capital One could provide me with proof that the {$1300.00} had been returned to XXXX XXXX ' bank. She told me it " was not their job to provide proof, that I would have to call Capital one Bank and obtain any proof I need myself '', or works to that effect. She was least than professional and a disappointment to me as a longtime customer. 13 ) The bottom line is I am stuck between to major multi-dollar corporations and can not get the monies own to me. Complaint: On XX/XX/2019 our Cabela 's / Capitol One credit card number was used to make a charge at XXXX # XXXX in XXXX, Idaho. The amount of {$500.00} was charged. Capiton One called us because they thought it to be fraudulent activity. On the phone we went through the charges and were asked which were correct and which were not. We identified, at that time, only the one charge for {$500.00} that was fraudulent. The credit card company removed the charge until XXXX XXXX 2019 when they sent us a letter informing us that they discovered no fraudulent activity and were thus re-instituting the charge against our account. I explained to them again that my wife and I were not even in XXXX. We were in XXXX Washington. I further explained that we have only one card for that account and it was with us in Washington. They said, no matter, we think it is not fraudulent. I requested they hold the charge in abeyance until the problem was properly resolved and they refused. They have not explained any of the things they did to verify their claim. I have made a police report and have requested copies on the signature and an image of the person making the transaction. The police will help procure both.

Complaint: Greetings, I received a phone call from this gentleman from the president office saying that XXXX is not going to be able to call me to resolve the complaint that was received by the cfpb and that theyre no errors on their side. Well, I told him sir there is because the letter never said that capital one is going to report a late payment to the bureaus, show me proof on the letter that you guys sent, show me proof that is all that I am asking for. The capital one accounts which was three accounts that I had, I paid two of them in full, one was for a credit line of {$750.00} and the other one for {$500.00}. I was offered by capital one during hurricane Irma help for all military and veterans that was affected by the storm, that they will waive late fees and we didnt have to make a payment for six months. So when I noticed that they reported me late to the bureaus. I called and told them that they put us in a program to help families that was affected by the storm, so shame on them and that is why I paid the two highest account in full and closed them. The accounts are currently in dispute with the Bureaus and the FTC, I will make it my mission to, protect other family members not to get bamboozled by this big company. There is something call karma and I believe in it and I know I will get justice for the malpractice of capital one. You guys says that you help military families, please show me how, all I am asking is to remove the late payments from accounts that was in a program that you guys develop to help people and now you are punishing us. The accounts are paid in full, when I was made aware of the late payments reporting, you know what I did I made all of my payments before the due date and paid both accounts in full and closed it and now I have one active account with you guys with XXXX balance.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX - G M Card ( bought by Capital One in XXXX ) was declined. NO ONE called me as is usual when this happens. XX/XX/XXXX - I called Capital One - got 2 different versions of why it was restricted including " someone tried to access your credit '' and then " got a DEATH CERT on you - you're DEAD! '' After getting upset with the company the they became more 'we 're on your side ' etc - and sent me a link asking for 3 forms of I.D . including SS Card ; Driver 's license and a bill. In the process I was asked for my SS # at least 3 times in the call until I told them no more sharing of it without recourse as this seemed very odd by 'XXXX XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX - Called again - link never rec 'd - sent again and due to obtaining documents and being out of town I scanned my DL, SS card ( both sides ), Real Estate taxes paid XXXX and a utility bill. The message rec 'd indicated it was " received '' and the agent on XX/XX/XXXX informed me I would hear something in 7 - 10 days. As of XX/XX/XXXX no word. XX/XX/XXXX CALLED - told account was closed - 'Fraud Application. ' Questioned this as applied and approved for card in summer of XXXX - 24+ years ago. XXXX couldn't tell me if this had anything to do with their own data breaches this year - or why it was determined Fraud - SS # breach, or what? My father XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX died in XXXX XXXX 4 years before I obtained this card ) and curious if it is related to this. WHY are banks allowed to not disclose issues affecting an individual 's credit, rating, etc? LAST : Why didn't I get a final bill, there was a balance due of {$1500.00} approximately due - will this be noted as delinquent against my credit rating? They also can't tell me why. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX cell phone number. Thanks for any help with this inept Capital One handling of some form of fraud with my card had since XXXX.

Complaint: I have been calling and complaining about 6 inquiries on my credit report that XXXX is reporting : As a last resort since they were not listening to me I filed disputes online. My Dispute # XXXX. These same inquires were shown on the other 2 bureaus as well they investigated and then removed. I have reached out to each individual company with no answers or voicemail with no return call. I have reached back out to XXXX to let them know my findings. They told me the only way I will get removed is to wait until they fall off my credit report. This is unacceptable for me I can't wait until the middle of 2020 to remove something that does not belong to me. Also, it is affecting my credit and trying to apply for a job is hard when you have these kinds of thing bringing your scores down.

Complaint: I made a {$330.00} credit card payment from my XXXX XXXX account to Capital One on XXXX XX/XX/2019. Although Capital One received the full payment, the financial institution refuses use of its line of credit. Representatives from Capital One stated in phone calls on XXXX XX/XX/2019 there was a seven day hold on the payment until XXXX XXXX verified the funds. Twice on XXXX XX/XX/2019, Capital One representatives contacted XXXX XXXX which confirmed there was a pending payment. Capital One placed a seven day payment hold effectively freezing all account activity and subsequently blocking all transfer of funds. Capital One makes decisions to allow payment processing and use of its lines of credit based on its discretion, despite having verified funds from another financial institution. I stated to the Capital One representatives that it made no sense to disallow use of credit lines by placing a seven day payment hold. I also stated it made no sense using their services because I couldn't use their credit card. Furthermore, I expressed anger at the fact Capital One had the power to hold funds in suspense without granting privileges even after contacting my financial institution.

Complaint: Dear XXXX XXXX Managing Vice President I disagree with the results of the Fraud investigation assessment that was sent XX/XX/XXXX. I previously notified you that Im a victim of identity theft and requested that you remove all fraudulent charges from my account and close the account. I am a victim of identity theft, due to your XX/XX/XXXX website Security breach. I am writing to dispute the following fraudulent charges on my account. I first notified Cap One XX/XX/XXXX of suspicious activity to your fraud agents, who stated the System issued a new duplicate card automatically ( card valid till XX/XX/XXXX ). I objected to replacement card being sent, but told it was already sent USPS, no signature needed. I complied to report Fraud on XX/XX/XXXX. Then XX/XX/XXXX I received email ( attached ) that fraudulent activity was declined for {$3400.00} against account, I immediately called Cap One was told a second charge was being was paid on Card # XXXX for {$2000.00} ( XXXX XXXX ) while I was waiting speaking to agent. I did not make these charges and I have. I request that you remove all fraudulent charges and any related fees from my account, send me an updated and accurate statement, and close the account. I also request that you stop reporting this inaccurate information to credit reporting agencies ( CRAs ). I have enclosed a copy of my FTC Identity Theft Report and your own emails and phone records supporting my position. I spoke to Frauds manager ( Refused to state her name requested ) who claimed to be final decision maker. Please investigate this attached data and send me a written explanation and judgment of your findings.
