Complaint: Approximately in XX/XX/XXXX, I received a subpoena by a law enforcement officer of the state of IL for a debt I was not aware of nor is it mine. These are fraudulent claims or identity theft. Upon checking my credit report as recommended by my friend and discussing the matter with him he suggested I take action to call CaptialOne to inform them of this fraud. They gave me a telephone number to their attorney instead of their fraud department, this was today XX/XX/XXXX. However, I never personally applied for credit with CapitalOne and was successful in obtaining a line of credit with them.

Complaint: I applied for a Capital One credit card around XX/XX/2019 and a message popped up saying needed further reviewing. I did receive a email letting me know the process could take up to 7-10 business days. After waiting about a week, I called the number to check the status and the automated system told me that my application is still under review. After waiting 4-5 days, I still have not heard anything. After a week, I called back and the same recording that my application is still under review. I received an email letting me know that I needed to mail or fax over my ID and social security card in which I faxed over my Driver 's License, Social Security Card and a copy of my new lease agreement. After waiting another week, still no response back. I then received a a letter in the mail asking me to send in a copy of my ID and social security card. Again, I faxed over these documents with my lease agreement so they could have my current address. After a few more days, I kelp calling to check the status and the same results again. Today on XX/XX/2019 I called Capital One number at XXXX and spoke with a gentleman and explained to him my concerns. He asked me for personal questions and for my social security number, date of birth and my phone number. He stated to me that, he did see my application and he does have a copy of my driver 's license and social security card but never mention my lease I sent in. He said after reading the notes, that there was some information that didn't match and that I had to go back online to reapply. I asked him why if I'm going to be putting in the same information as the first time. He said, that's what the system is telling him. I asked what would be different and would it be another HARD INQUIRY and he said YES it will be. I was shocked of what he was saying to me. I never heard anything from them after 15 days and I had to call just for him to tell me that information. Why did I not get a letter are via email explaining that information to me? This is unfair action and I want something done about how I have been treated. I sent everything they asked for and more by sending in my new lease agreement and now they want me to REAPPLY adding a new Inquiry on my consumer credit file. That's not going to happen.

Complaint: My complaint is against Capital One Auto Financing and my auto loan through. I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX two years which they financed and have struggled with the loan payments after six months. Initially the vehicle was vandalized through unauthorized use causing extensive damage to the undercarriage breaking both control arms, bending a rim and ruining a tire. The repairs exceeded {$3000.00}. A police report was filed, but no charges were ever filed. As part of my contract with Capital One I have to maintain the vehicle and am responsible for any and all repairs. I immediately notified them of the damage and forwarded a copy of the police report. The did not offer any leniency despite being made aware that the cost of the repairs would hinder my ability to repay the loan. Six months later I was involved in an accident in a company vehicle which left me bed-ridden and unemployed for two months. Once again, I notified the bank that I would not be able to make my payments on time. Once again, when I asked for a deferment on the loan, it was denied. Recently, and partially because I was desperate for work, I fell prey to a labor scam which left me once again behind on loan payments. Now the bank is threatening repossession, they've worsened my financial situation by reporting negatively to the credit bureaus, they've buried me in interest and late fees, and still can not offer a solution. They are attempting to profit from a victim and this is the epitome of predatory lending. The vehicle is no longer worth anywhere near it's original loan value and I'm still responsible for the principle loan amount. I should not be paying excessive interest and fees on a criminal act nor should the bank be able to profit from it. They've also violated my privacy by disclosing negative information regarding the loan, including status, payoff, and balance without my consent.
