Complaint: While making a purchase at Kohl 's, the cashier asked if I had a Kohls credit card to help save money. I said I did and apparently the account was closed due to inactivity, which I was unaware of at that time. The cashier then had me confirm my information on the key pad and reopened the account without my permission. The purchase was charged to this account and the cashier told me there was nothing he could do to reverse it. I was under the impression I had an account and was trying to receive a coupon. I did not want to open a new account or charge the purchase as I was making the purchase for the company I work for. They opened a new account without my permission. I tried to resolve this issue with them by phone and was told there was nothing they could do but close the account. I did not want to open an account as it will affect my credit score. I would like this account off of my credit report, as it is not one I authorized to be open.

Complaint: On XXXX, my Capital One personal card was declined while trying to make a purchase ( less than {$10.00} ). Upon calling Capital One customer service, I was informed that a " restriction '' was placed on my credit card account, and that I would be unable to use the credit card until I submitted specific documents for identity verification. When I asked why the restriction was put into place, a representative of Capital One & that representative 's supervisor both declined to provide an explanation. My account has been in good standing for many years, and Capital One gave me no notification about potentially fraudulent charges ( as has happened a number of times in the past ). Quite simply, Capital One restricted my account with no warning or justification provided. Capital One 's proposed solution is for me to submit ( sensitive ) documentation in order to verify my identity : [ 1 ] a scan of the front & back of my driver 's license, [ 2 ] a scan of my signed Social Security card, and [ 3 ] proof of residence ( e.g., a utility bill or bank statement ).

Complaint: I have a loan with CAPITAL ONE. I have always made my payments on time. For some reason, I realized that there was a late payment on my credit report. As you can see, I have always had a stellar payment record with this company. I tried contacting both XXXX and CAPITAL ONE with no successful resolution. XXXX is the only one reporting me late. There was definitely an error on their part. I was never 30 days late.

Complaint: Hello on XX/XX/2019 I went into Kohl 's XXXX in XXXX, Michigan XXXX and spend {$290.00} on clothes and on XX/XX/2019 I saw that the items that I purchase were on sale for lower amount so I went to Customer Service to ask if they could give me a PRICE ADJUSTMENT and the associate did give me one for {$90.00} which she said that they would credit my CHARGE CARD FOR. And I said fine cause I did not want any cash money back so yes credit my Kohl 's Credit Card. Well I check my statement account and notice that I got a {$19.00} credit back on my card and I don't know where that came from for the date XX/XX/2019 and mine you I did not return anything back or nothing like that. So I called Kohl 's Charge Card on XX/XX/2019 and talked with a XXXX who said that she see that it is pending and that her Manager is looking into it and will call me back within 24 hours and don't I try to handle it myself and go back to the store cause they will get back in touch with me. So I said okay fine, I will wait. I called back on XXXX XXXX and talked with a XXXX who transfer me to a XXXX who was no help, who transfer me to a XXXX who was talking down to me and I said Ma I am trying to get this matter taken care of I help a receipt which said my card is to be credit {$90.00} and I don't see it and I see a return credit of {$19.00} and I DID NOT RETURN ANYTHING PERIOD BUT I DID BY MORE THINGS WHICH COST ME {$190.00} SO I NEED TO FINE OUT WHAT HAPPEN AND WHERE DID THIS {$19.00} COME FROM? Complaint: I made my first call to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX after I discovered the following unauthorized charges on my account XX/XX/XXXX for {$5.00} XX/XX/XXXX for {$14.00} and {$.00}. XXXX reversed these charges on XX/XX/XXXX, as can be reference with XXXX Confirmation # XXXX & XXXX. XXXX determined that the unauthorized charges originated from the email address XXXX. I made my second call to XXXX after a new unauthorized charge was made against my account for {$9.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX again reversed the charge on XX/XX/XXXX and suggested calling Capital One to freeze all future charges from XXXX. This can be referenced with XXXX Confirmation # XXXX. The entirety of the phone call was transcribed and emailed to me by XXXX. The same day ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I called Capital One at which time the representative with whom I spoke confirmed that additional XXXX charges were being allowed. I spoke to XXXX and given a fax number XXXX to send any/all fraud info for my case. Upon my request for documentation for the fraud, Capital One redirected me back to XXXX and stated this wasnt their issue to resolve. At this time there was no additional action by Capital One. Due to an unfortunate string of events and a severe misunderstanding on XX/XX/XXXX, I was taken into custody by the XXXX/XXXX PD. I was later released from their custody on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX PST. Upon turning on my phone I received roughly several Fraud Alert texts. I immediately responded YES to the texts when prompted to halt any additional purchases at the time, and I have screen shots of those text messages. Without delay, at approximately XXXX XXXXXXXX PST I called Capital One. I froze my debit card but opted not to order a new one since I was in the middle of moving residences. For the record all arrest charges were dropped upon my release. During my time under XXXX/XXXX PD custody, all personal property with the exception of my phone and the clothing I had on were left at my place of residence. Later that evening ( XX/XX/XXXX ), upon logging in to my Capital One online portal, I discovered the following unauthorized charges totaling {$2400.00}. These charges were during the time I was temporarily incarcerated from XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX XXXX PST to XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXX XXXX PST. : XX/XX/XXXX - {$8.00} XXXX XXXX, transaction ID XXXX XX/XX/XXXX - {$53.00} XXXX XXXX, transaction ID XXXX XX/XX/XXXX - {$75.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX XX/XX/XXXX - {$300.00} XXXX XXXX ATM - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( ATM ) - {$3.00} transaction fee for non-company ATM XX/XX/XXXX - {$600.00} XXXX XXXX ATM - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( ATM ) - {$3.00} transaction fee for non-company ATM XX/XX/XXXX - {$1000.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Note : I have since spoken with the store manager to which they confirmed the unauthorized purchase was for prepaid VISA cards in {$200.00} increments. The store manager also confirmed that the store has video cameras and the footage is available for review. XX/XX/XXXX two additional unauthorized charges from XXXX XXXX XXXX, both for {$9.00} resulting from calls I personal made while incarcerated. The calls are recorded calls which will verify that I was not present at the time when all unauthorized charges were made. XX/XX/XXXX - {$400.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX - {$4.00} transaction fee for non-company ATM. After researching this withdrawal I discovered it was made at XXXX XXXX. I spoke to XXXX, the head of security, on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. He explained there are approximately 14-18 ATMs and that they have full access to cameras where footage can be extracted and reviewed to determine who made the unauthorized ATM transactions. XXXX requested additional transaction details so that an effort can be made to narrow down the exact ATM from which the funds were withdrawn. On XX/XX/XXXX, upon following up on next steps for resolving the fraudulent charges on my account, I was told by a Capital One customer service supervisor that the Fraud Alert Notifications are ONLY a notice of precaution, they do not actually confirm that fraud has been committed regardless of the fact that I responded to the fraud alert text which clearly recognized that the purchases were out of the ordinary for my account. In an effort to seek resolution for the fraud on my account, and in response for Capital One refusing to resolve this matter, I filed a claim with CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX.Capital One denied my claim again despite the information I provided including a police report number I filed which shows my intent to press charges against the individual ( s ) responsible for illegally obtaining my ATM card and making unauthorized purchases. I requested to speak to a supervisor but my request was denied. I was told they are busy but relayed info to me through the customer service rep that they were escalating to the BEST team which handles these cases. I have called XXXX with Capital One ( XXXX ext XXXX ) who denied by claim again via written correspondence to the CFPB claim on the following days : XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX PST XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX PST XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX PST XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX PST XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX PST XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX PST These denials contain no specific details as to why my claim is being denied. I have proof that I could not have been in possession of my debit card to make the purchases listed above. I have left several extremely detailed messages in regards to both her CFPB response and my original claim. At this time I feel I have no other option but to file an appeal with the CFPB, and file secondary claims with the FTC, OCC, and the XXXX. I wish to resolve this matter amicably and without further legal assistance. However, I am left with little to no option.

Complaint: I recently received many solicitations from attorneys that wanted to help with a lawsuit, I became very curious as to why I was receiving all this mail. I went online to public records and found that a pre-trial conference was scheduled for XX/XX/2019. I never received any information by mail or by phone. I never received any legal documentation regarding this matter. I was very upset to see this under my name in public records with a past due date. On XX/XX/2019 I called the office of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I asked to speak with Mr. XXXX. The woman that answered my call said he was unavailable. I gave her my name and asked for her name and she just ignored my question. I willingly provided her with my personal information. She informed me that they are representing Capital One & I owe a balance of {$3600.00}. I informed her that I had 4 Capital One accounts in the past years all 4 were closed upon my request all 4 had a XXXX balance. When I told her that this has to be some mistake, I do not owe this money, she became very argumentative. I asked her for her name again, she replied that our discussion was over and hung up. I called back a few more times today, but all I received was a voice message. I left two individual messages, but no one ever returned my call. I can not resolve this issue when this woman is screening phone calls and refuses to give me her name. XXXX XXXX XXXX have not returned my phone call and this unidentified woman behaved like a loan shark, using unprofessional scare tactics. Please help me clear my name and this serious matter. Complaint: I contacted capital one back in XX/XX/XXXX during the government shutdown, i was placed into a program that reduced my interest rate for 3 months, then they took me off plan, when i was thinking I was in a hardship program, now they won't put me back because I don't quality. I contacted them, spoke to 3 people, the last one being the manager who gave me same information. Previous 2 supervisors I spoke to were very rude and spoke to me in a very condescendant as if they were superior then I was. I think this company is getting richer by taking people 's money but won't let them anymore since i plan to default on the card so that I can pay it off.

Complaint: Capital One has committed illegal extortion against myself as a United States Citizen and victim of Identity Theft. I am being FORCED TO PAY all {$710.00} ( Due XX/XX/XXXX ) of the CONFIRMED FRAUDULENT CHARGES of Capital One Mastercard Account # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX despite the Mastercard Zero Liability Protection that I am entitled to by law with all requirements being met and fulfilled under the Mastercard Liability Protection Policy. I moved in XXXX of XXXX and noticed my credit card missing after I settled in later in the month and called Capital One to report my missing card which had no previous balance on it. I was unaware of it but soon learned after calling Capital Ones Customer Service line at ( XXXX ) XXXX-XXXX that all phone operations were being handled in the country of XXXX with poorly trained employees that could speak and comprehend very little English ( if any ) to save the bank ( which has NO physical branches in the United States of America despite contrary claims otherwise in U.S. national television advertisements Capital One Cafes ) from paying higher wages to U.S. workers and to avoid U.S. taxes on employees. After speaking to a XXXX Resident and trying to tell them what happened, they sounded very confused and had to look up my English words to interpret what I said. The only coherent words that I could understand is, Card on its way. You understand? My mail was forwarded by the United States Postal Service for three months as per their policy. I later got a forwarded DUPLICATE card in the mail with the SAME ACCOUNT NUMBER. The XXXX employee didnt even close the account to prevent theft or update my address as requested. I called to complain again in XXXX after receiving my forwarded statement that had {$710.00} ( Due XX/XX/XXXX ) of UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES on it. The XXXX employee was fast to interrupt me and say Those charges made with card in hand. Not fraud.!! I called again and asked to speak to an American and they DENIED my request. I looked up how to say I need a new card in XXXX and they hung up on me. Later, a new card was forwarded to me by the United States Postal Service with a new account number and I received a forwarded letter stating that I was responsible for ALL UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES of {$710.00} ( Due XX/XX/XXXX ). Since then I have made numerous attempts to change my address by calling other corporate Capital One phone numbers and finally being granted brief access to an American Employee in XXXX, Virginia. To this day, I still dont know if my address has been updated or my phone number. I have been laughed at repeatedly and lied to at least half a dozen times that someone would CALL me and they never do not even when I tell them to call me on my new number. Capital One has also DENIED my request to close this account so I may pursue the banks criminal actions legally. I have filed a Consumer Identity Theft Report with the Federal Trade Commission but Capital One REFUSES to take it and does not recognize a police report in its investigations. I reached out to Mastercard International and filed a formal complaint against Capital One. I also filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, the Attorney Generals Office, and contacted XXXX XXXX ( Senior Investigative Reporter for XXXX XXXX XXXX/XXXX-XXXX ).

Complaint: Hello my name is XXXX XXXX, Okay so I opened up my very first account with capital one, I applied for the secured credit card with the minimum XXXX $ deposit I deposited XXXX $ & the 3 months later I was able to get another secured card from capital one & I deposited XXXX $ for that one. In just a about a year my credit was great & was building up also because I got my first car which was financed it was a 2015 XXXX XXXX XXXX $ which I never made any late payments on neither did I ever make any late payments on my credit cards either. Then right before I was booking a trip to the XXXX XXXX since i had not seen my family in about 7 years i spontaneously got both my cards canceled & when I called the bank to ask why they canceled my accounts they didnt give me a reason & told me I still had to pay my remaining balances which were only 30-40 % out of my limit but I even asked if I payed it off which in total was like 7 or 800 $ if they would reopen my accounts & they told me no & that I am welcome to re apply for another card.. so honestly being that I was leaving in a week to see my family I didnt even want to care about that anymore & I thought I would be able to handle it when I got back but I ended up staying there for about 6months & that ruined my credit which I why I am in the situation that I am in now & id really love a miracle.

Complaint: In XX/XX/2019 while checking out I applied for a Kohl 's credit card and was approved. I received the card 7 days later. Approximately two weeks later I received a letter from Kohl 's that they received a letter from me requesting the account closed because I never opened an account with Kohl 's. I wrote a letter to Kohl 's CEO Mrs XXXX that this was a mistake and this letter was fraudulent. In XX/XX/2019 I recieved a call from Mrs XXXX 's president, XXXX, that she was submitting this to the fraudulent department. I informed her that I was a innocent person of fraud and that my bank account was hacked. I suggested that this may be related to the hacking of my personal information with my bank account. Approximately one week later XXXX called me and said that my letter to Mrs XXXX and the letter requesting my account be closed were too similar and they were canceling my account. I informed her that there are millions of computers exactly like mine and I didn't write the closure letter. I reapplied for a Kohl 's credit card and was denied. I wrote a letter to Chairman CEO, XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2019 about this matter. He never replied to my letter. I feel I was mistreated and accused of writing a letter to close the account that I never did. I feel they should reopen my credit card account.

Complaint: My complaint is against Capital One Financial Corporation, they refuse to remove a business account which they closed out due to fraud charges. The information of the account is the following : Capital One business account # XXXX, date open : XX/XX/XXXX, date closed : XX/XX/XXXX, status : paid and closed. I already tried disputing account with them, I attached the letter that was faxed to Capital One Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. Checking my reports Capital One didnt even investigate the account which it is a violation to the California Reporting Act. Also attached a Federal Trade Commission report filed for stolen mail and Im also attaching an unfiled SC-100 against Capital One bank, which in the case they dont remove account I will file. Not removing an account with fraudulent activity is a violation to the California Credit Reporting Act.
