Complaint: The capitol one bank account that was opened in XXXX under my name and social security number is identity theft or a huge mistake if possible. I was only XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX and never had an account until XXXX when I went to college. Ive tried to dispute it, Ive called capitol one, filed a complaint in the past and nothing has happened. It is affecting my credit score and it has caused lots of stress. Please fix this issue. Thank you

Problem with customer service
Complaint: I purchased a XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2019 from Kohls Department Store on XXXX XXXX XXXX as a birthday gift for a friend at the end of XXXX. Once I gave my friend the XXXX, we realized that it did not work properly. It will not sync and will not charge past 50 %. Kohls return policy states that with original packaging and original receipt ( which I have both ), purchases can be returned or exchanged up to 16 months from the date of purchase. When I attempted to return my item, only THEN was I told that this premium electronic item only has a 30 day return policy and there was nothing that could be done. It would have been impossible for me to return the item within 30 days because it was not opened or used until XX/XX/2019. All I asked them to do was exchange my non-working XXXX for one that works or credit back my account the purchase price of {$99.00} ( plus tax ) and they refused to do anything at all. I was never notified of this special time limit on my item at the time of purchase ( almost like when you are told All Sales are Final when purchasing a clearance item ). I am now - {$100.00} and have a XXXX that does not work. Its as though I am being punished for planning ahead and buying an item in advance.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I made a credit card ( ending in XXXX ) purchase with XXXX XXXX {$2500.00} XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One refunded this {$2500.00} per my request. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, refunded the {$2500.00} back to my credit card account. On XX/XX/XXXX, Capital One made a credit adjustment to my account in the amount of - {$2400.00}. As a result, my reward balance reflects - {$30.00}. This is an unfair use of my rewards due to the fact that ( 1 ) I did not redeem my rewards and this has resulted in me ( 2 ) starting at a negative rewards balance. I reached out to Capital One, several times last week to resolve this issue. As of this date, the issue is not resolved. My resolution would be to adjust my reward balance to reflect accurate reward activity versus a negative balance due to the above.

Complaint: Today is XX/XX/XXXX. Based of the past five billing cycles, my next bill will likely be due on XX/XX/XXXX. I went online view how much I owe and my statement isn't ready. I am not an expert, but I believe that the law says I am supposed to have my statement a minimum of 21 days in advance. My statement normally ends on the XXXX of the month prior. In this day and age, it should not take this long for a credit card organization like Capital One more than a few days to generate these statements. It makes me wonder if they are intentionally delaying statements so customers have a shorter repayment window.

Complaint: While I was on vacation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on XXXX XXXX XXXX I noticed a fraudulent credit card transaction for $XXXX was pending on my credit card account with Capital One (COF). I called COF as soon as I noticed the fraudulent transaction and reported it the same day while it was still pending. Today, XXXX XXXX XXXX I saw that the charge had been returned to my account and I called COF to investigate. They told me that I was responsible for the charge because according to their investigation I am responsible for the charge. The charge is from a vendor I have never heard of and for an amount that I never authorized and it is completely out the realm of possibility that this charge is for anything legitimate but Capital One has closed their investigation and will not help me.

Complaint: Kohl 's department store turned over a debt they claimed I owe as a charge off to credit bureaus. I have never received a bill and haven't used their card in years.
I have called the company 4 times, wrote them and turned it over to the XXXX.
I have not had a reply. I do not believe I owe them anything but without a bill can't even dispute.
This has caused me to not be able to get solar panels which is how I became aware of the problem and have for months been trying to resolve this.
I put a complaint on their website and saw they have done this over and over to others.
I am a senior and have always paid my bills. To ruin my credit and not care is ashame. I will never shop there again and just want this cleared up.

Credit card company won't work with you while you're going through financial hardship
Complaint: I am a few payments behind on my Capital One card ending in XXXX. I chatted with an agent online and explained my situation and they were very nice and set me up on a financial hardship plan that would lower my monthly payment and reduce the interest. I was not told when to pay so I waited for something in the mail. Nothing ever came. So today, I logged in and my payment still showed the same so I chatted with another rep and was told I was on a payment plan through a " 3rd party debt management '' - and gave me a different ph # to call. I called that ph # and spoke to an account manager and was told no, we have no record of anything set up for you. So I went back to Capital One and chatted with yet another rep and told them that and they again told me to contact my " 3rd party debt management ''. I have never had a 3rd party debt management!!! I don't know what they are talking about. So I asked how do I get a copy of the original chat transcript from a few weeks ago. I was told that is not possible. SERIOUSLY? I did not imagine this. I want a copy of that transcript as proof that I DID contact Capital One for assistance and was put on a payment plan .... but nobody seems to see that or know what I'm talking about.

Can't use card to make purchases
Complaint: I traveled to XXXX on XX/XX/19 and thats when the transactions started being flagged as fraudulent. This is the second time now that Capital One has shut down my card when I was out of town. Capital One declined my pre-authorization for an XXXX ride from the airport to home on XX/XX/19 leaving me stranded at the airport.
I need them to understand I travel and they can not shut down my card every time I am more then XXXX miles from my home. Last time it resulted in my account being closed and it took months to resolve. I understand they are trying to protect me from fraud but I can not have my account flagged as fraud just because I am out of town.
Please mark my account profile as someone that travels and stop shutting down my account, its very annoying and embarrassing to have your card declined and flagged a thief.

Complaint: I found a account from Capitol One on all three of my credit reports as delinquent. I only have one Capitol one card on my report which belongs to my mother and I am a authorized user. This other card credit limit {$300.00} I have no knowledge of and have been disputing it for about three months now. I disputed with all three credit bureaus, I filed a complaint with the XXXX as well as with Capitol One. I received a letter from Capitol One on XXXX XXXX, 2019 stated that they performed an investigation and confirmed that the account ending in XXXX was opened online and after the performing their review they believe the account belongs to me for the following reasons. ( 1 ) The contact information used to open the account has been linked to me by public records.
A- My address B- My Phone Number C- My ss # and date of birth There for I'm left with a negative mark on my credit from a card I never had nor asked for. On XXXX XXXX 2019 I saw on the news that XXXX year old XXXX XXXX hacked capitol Ones system. There was a data breech with Capitol Ones system and 100m affected in the U.S and 140k social security numbers was compromised. The information that was stolen was Names, addresses, zip codes, emails, dates of births. The same information that Capitol is stating they used to connect this account to me. Im not stating that XXXX or whom ever she was connected to is the cause of my problem with this company, but I do know that I never applied for this credit card and NEVER used it. There for I should not be responsible for it and my credit reports should be updated.
