Complaint: I am on XXXX serving in the XXXX. In XX/XX/2016 I asked Barclaycard to apply SCRA benefits to my Luxury Gold Card account. They said yes, saying in a letter that " While you 're on XXXX, the following terms apply ... : The APR for all balances have been lowered to 0.0 %, All fees, including annual fees, will be waived. '' I have a large balance on the card now because of this, and Barclaycard just notified me that they would start charging me the {$990.00} annual fee. I believe that they are violating the promise that they made me to keep my fees and APR at 0 while I remain on XXXX.

Complaint: I applied for the Barclays Gold Luxury Card under the impression that annual fees for XXXX military would be waived while I was in possession of it and maintained good standing. I received a letter stating this and also followed up with the organization late in XXXX to ensure there were no changes in store. I was assured that no changes would be made for military members. The intent of my application was clear, however I just received a letter stating that I will be required to pay a {$990.00} annual fee beginning XX/XX/XXXX. I feel I should be grandfathered into the annual fee waiver as I applied before this changed as a military member. Additionally, this will financially impact me negatively.

Complaint: MasterCard Barclays offered me 0 % interest with no annual fee as a military member and I use their card exclusively for all my purchases, up until I received a letter dated XXXX XXXX, 2017. In this letter they stated that going forward they would no longer honor my annual fee waiver and that they would charge my account on the next month billing period. This loop hole that is being used to get out of XXXX is not very honorable. They recover funds every time I swipe my card. I understand that the card at 0 % is a great opportunity and I wish that they would not go to the extreme on service members to charge them this fee. I used this card everyday and now I face a {$990.00} charge or close the card and pay off the balance. Most members would be in a predicament under that constraint.

Complaint: Barclays gold card offered the card to military members with no annual fee and zero percent interest. Recently, Barclay changed the policy charging {$990.00} annually to military members. I would say this was a classic bait and switch. Lure military members in offering a good deal and once purchases are made change the fees to charge the annual fee. Military members with a balance and unable to pay off and cancel get hit for the highest fee on the maket.

Complaint: A fraudulent XXXX XXXX business credit card through Barclays was opened in my name with what was obviously a fake business name of XXXX. I feel this might have been an inside job. How otherwise can a business credit card be opened without any supporting business documents? Also, before the card arrived in the mail and I was aware of it, there was a {$10000.00} transfer made to another company.

Complaint: I signed up for a Barclay Luxury Gold card in XX/XX/2016. As an XXXX member of the armed forces, they were offering XXXX bonus points, plus XXXX benefits to include a 0 % APR and no annual fee, and were clear that this would remain in effect as long as I was on XXXX XXXX. One year later, they have changed their terms and are going to charge a {$990.00} annual fee, despite the promise not to do so for the length of my service. Barclay 's specifically targeted XXXX Military with XXXX benefits above and beyond what was required, and once enrolled, are revoking the benefits to charge a large annual fee. Now I must either pay {$990.00} for the card, or pay off the balance and close the card, negatively impacting my credit score. I, like many others, would not have applied for the card if the annual fee was to be charged.

Complaint: I signed up for the BARCLAYS GOLD CARD and was offered all annual fees waived according to my initial terms and conditions. I since have received notice that will no longer apply as of XX/XX/2017. After having the card over a year they decided to send out letters saying that they will now be instituting an annual fee starting the end of XX/XX/2017. I know its a good deal but are they allowed to change the contract after they have already promoted and offered the initial contract. Should n't that be a grandfathered in situation due to the fact they lied about the card to get you to sign up then change the rules using a loop hole.

Complaint: I applied and was approved for a Barclay Gold Card in XX/XX/XXXX because of the very generous benefits they offered XXXX Military ie waived {$990.00} annual fee, 0 % APR, etc. Shortly after the holidays, earlier this year, I was notified that Barclays was no longer going to honor waiving the {$990.00} fee and if my account wasnt closed prior to XX/XX/XXXX, I would be assessed that fee. I feel as if Barclays baited me into a great deal and then pulled the rug out as soon as i was approved and began using the card racking up a balance over the holidays. I now have a balance on a card that i need to close within the next 6 months or else i will incur a {$990.00} fee that I am not prepared to pay. I would never have applied for this CC if i knew i would have to pay a {$990.00} fee.

Complaint: I am XXXX XXXX military I was given a Barclaycard gold master card under the condition of 0 % APR and annual fee waiver. Recently they have told me they are going to no longer honor this condition. I asked Barclaycard if I would continued to receive this benefit in XXXX when they removed the annual fee waiver for new applicants, and they said I would. I have the concersafion with Barclaycard saying I would continue to receive these benefits.

Complaint: I applied for and was granted the Barclay Luxury Gold Card in XX/XX/2016. At that time, they offered to waive the annual fee of {$990.00} and provide 0 % interest under XXXX benefits for XXXX military members. They have since rescinded that offer, and are now charging the annual fee of {$990.00} - stating that their policies were not in line with XXXX policy. They also said that Luxury Card - the third party brand - was losing out on money that it forced Barclay to start charging the annual fee again to keep the connection with Luxury Card. Either way, this is extremely unfair to numerous XXXX military members who got the card knowing the annual fee would be waived. For example, one may have put {$5000.00} down for a car at 0 % interest, and now has to pay off that balance and close the card, or be stuck with another {$990.00} annual fee. As a military member who received this card and the waived annual fee benefit, I feel that I should be grandfathered into what they originally offered -- i.e. no annual fee, no administrative fees, and 0 % interest.

Billing statement

Credit card:

Complaint: I have already submitted a complaint on Barclaycard to you in reference to a credit line reduction and the fact that the did not want to credit a XXXX payment made in XX/XX/XXXX to the XX/XX/XXXX due out. Only one of those two were resolved that being as they quoted as a goodwill gesture they would apply it to be credited to the XX/XX/XXXX payment. As I stated to you in my previous complaint they do this and get away with it so that they can increase the monthly due and the interest rate goes up. I have attached both the XX/XX/XXXX statement and now the new billing for XX/XX/XXXX please note the credit of the XXXX payment. Also as I stated please compare the 2 billings before the complaint was filed the XX/XX/XXXX statement reflected a balance of XXXX with a monthly minimum payment of XXXX now look at the XX/XX/XXXX Billing the Balance Due Increased to XXXX which was an increase. When I pay my other credit cards they may not decrease much but they do decrease some each month, My question now to Barclaycard is where did the XXXX payment go and how did the balance increase instead of decrease. If this was the way they all worked I would never get them paid off. Perhaps what I stated in my last complaint is really true. So again what did they do with the XXXX as it was an overpayment of XXXX over the requested minimum payment due of XXXX. If I had the money I would just pay them off but even then they cant get the right amount reflected as due according to what I figure and that is giving them their Interest charged for that period the current balance should reflect XXXX. I have posted a minimum requested payment due which also went up to be paid to them no sooner than the due date. They need to correct the balance due.
