Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Complaint: Disputed transaction for unauthorized charge by a merchant.
Merchant Name : XXXX XXXX/ XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX -- XXXX Date of transaction : XX/XX/2019 Date of Chargeback : XX/XX/2019 Amount : {$250.00} Bank of America Visa/Debit Card Transaction ( No signature ) This merchant was NOT authorized to charge my card for this transaction.
This was a landscaper that had my card on file to charge upon completion of twice monthly services in the maximum amount of {$100.00} and ONLY after obtaining my prior consent with verification that the work had been completed. I am an out of state homeowner and this individual took advantage of that fact by not showing up or doing the job he was contracted to do. He was FIRED for breach of contract, not showing up and leaving my yard unkept covered in weeds, overgrown and dead grass and bushes growing wildly along with leaking sprinklers that I had to pay another company almost $ 1k to repair due to his negligence. The amount in question was charged AFTER he was fired for non performance, and not showing up as contracted and another company was hired to complete the work. I in fact contacted him immediately when I saw that he charged my card, and told him he needed to reverse this charge as it was NOT AUTHORIZED.
I gave this individual ample time to credit my card before filing a dispute, he refused.
I filed a dispute with my bank, Bank of America, they issued a chargeback on XX/XX/2019.
The merchant provided an invoice addressed to a completely different person with a different name as part of his rebuttal and " evidence ''. He has also provided some papers that show what appears to be a random message thread with no names, numbers or any indication that it's a conversation I am a part of or not just something he wrote and printed up himself. It certainly doesn't show my name or number associated with it, not too mention unless he can provide an actual sealed transcript from my cell carrier, anyone can photoshop and doctor up a fake document to attempt to defraud someone. I could just as easily have printed out some documents to say whatever I want them to say as well.
Giving a merchant a card to keep on file for one monthly charge after work has been completed and I authorize the charge, does not entitle them to just randomly charge an individual 's credit card at will, whenever they see fit, especially when the cardholder has explicitly informed this merchant they were NOT authorized to charge anything without prior consent.
This is tantamount to fraud and I would expect as a client of Bank of America for 20 years to be treated better than this. I respectfully asked them to reconsider the decision based on this information and their lack of ANY proof that I authorized them to charge my card {$250.00}. I will be filing additional formal complaints with the XXXX, XXXX XXXX and the FTC.

Complaint: I have a current 30-year mortgage with Bank of America ( BOA ). The interest rate is 4.5 %. My FICO credit score is XXXX. I have paid off my student debt and car loan so the only debt I have is the mortgage.
About a month ago, with interest rates falling, I applied to BOA for a re-finance quote. They quoted me 4 %. I thought that was high, so I did some research online and obtained a 3.375 % quote from another lender. BOA asked for the opportunity to match the rate and said it would be easier for me to remain with them since it would be less paperwork and more convenient. Stupidly, I agreed and told the other lender that I would not be taking their offer.
During the following weeks, BOA sent me Closing Disclosures ( CD ) that showed they would pay me {$630.00} at closing ( see attached ). The last one I received was on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX. Because I work a regular XXXX - XXXX job, BOA scheduled my closing for XXXX yesterday, XX/XX/XXXX at my home. When the closing agent arrived he gave me a CD that showed I needed to pay $ XXXX at closing. I was shocked. I am not a drug dealer so I don't have that money lying around at home. I called BOA and spoke to the loan manager ( " XXXX '' ) and she said it was for property taxes. However, that amount was significantly higher than the amount quoted in the XX/XX/XXXX CD. Additionally, in none of the many email and phone correspondences between me and BOA from XX/XX/XXXX -XX/XX/XXXX, NOT ONCE did anyone mentioned that I need to bring any money to closing. Needless to say, I was unable to do the closing and will be cancelling the re-finance application and taking my business elsewhere.
I noticed today that interest rates have now gone back up.
I strongly believe that BOA knew that could not truly match the rate of the other lender and resorted to a " bait and switch '' scheme to entrap me.
How is this fair? How is this remotely honest? Is there any remedy or options to punish BOA for engaging in this practice?

XXXX, Fl. XXXX Case # XX/XX/XXXX-XXXX First theft, Date XX/XX/XXXX Card # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Second and third Fraud XX/XX/XXXX, Virginia, XX/XX/XXXX Mass.
We, on the first time, went to the bank here in Florida and notified them that someone got into our account and acquired some money.
The bank replaced the money and then cut up our cards and issued new ones with new Acc. numbers, without a problem of what had occurred.
Thinking back of that evening before the beginnings for these transactions, a pick up truck was at the ATM machine and was there for some time and might have been attaching a skimmer to the machine. Just an afterthought now.
At that time we didnt think of it or we would have never made our transaction.
The second time is when we were in Virginia. We found that 2 separate withdrawals of, {$990.00} and another one of {$490.00} was attempting to get our money from our account.
That day we went to the bank in Virginia about this and they gave us new cards and replaced / stoped the three attempts to get our money.
That is, if the people already got the money.
They didnt blink an eye about issuing new account numbers.
Then while we were in XXXX, Mass. when we found another attempt of the same three amounts as the last attempts.
We went to the bank in XXXX, Mass. and notified them that the same transactions were again attempting to get our money from our account.
Again they gave us new cards and new numbers.
Sense then theyre saying that WE gave permission for the transaction to go through. Now, theyre refusing to replace the moneys that were stolen. We have no knowledge of who attacked our account or how they got the information that they needed.
One of the agents of the bank, would think that after the first two attempts that were replaced as fraud, they would suspect that something was wrong with these transactions again and ask questions from us.
The bank never called our phone number that is associated with our account.
They never did at any time.
We did bring our laptop to XXXX and they asked. They did find malware but couldnt determine if this was causing help for the stolen moneys.
Up until the first incident at The Bank of America in Florida, we never had any banking problems with them or any other bank, ever.
From what I have heard that there is a program called, XXXX,???
And if weve heard right, anyone can make it look like anyone could have OKed the transaction.
We also got a lawyer to help with our problem.
He was unable to talk with the bank without our OK.
Our lawyer sent the bank a registered letter to have a three way talk to have us give permission to talk with our lawyer about our problem with the bank.
The bank did not respond to our lawyers request.
On XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX wrote : I just received the card establishing that Bank of America received the certified letter so hopefully they respond shortly.
Even then they never responded.
If we wanted these transactions to go through, we wouldnt have gone to the banks to stop the first and second transactions at the beginning of these transactions.
Not to mention we do not buy or pay anything through the Bank of America.
This, I would think that something isnt right. 6 Especially after what has been going on with our account with the past attempts.
We only use this account for when we need cash and especially while traveling, not for any purchases.
When we do make our credit purchases, they are done through a credit card and paid through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and never through Bank of America.
This has been going on for over a year now.
Thank you Mr & Mrs XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXErr

Other problem
Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Bank of America sent me a letter informing of their decision to close my credit card.
They listed reasons that did not apply to my account, my relationship with the bank and an inaccurate credit score.
I was very concerned, as this is the second credit card closed by Bank of America. The previous closure did not provide a letter indicating the reason for closure.
I spoke with withe 5 different Card Services agents over the course of 30+ days and communicated with them via XXXX.
Although the last person I spoke with, XXXX, agreed that the reasons listed in the letter did not apply to me, based on their review of my credit report, My accounts remain closed.
A letter from Bank of America dated XX/XX/XXXX simply stated that we accurately reported to the consumer credit reporting agencies. At this time we consider your dispute closed.
Curiously, my problems began when I retired.

Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX and I applied for a credit card from Bank of America back in XXXX of XX/XX/2019. The card had a promotional rate of 0 % APR for 12 months and a cash bonus of {$150.00} after spending {$1000.00} in the first 3 months. I received my card sometime in XXXX, but they sent me 2 different ones. One ended in XXXX and the second ended in XXXX, I was confused so I called them to confirm which of the two cards had the promotion I applied for. They confirmed it was the one ending in XXXX, so I started using it. It has now been 2 months and I have spent more than the {$1000.00} dollars and have not received the promotional bonus. I called Bank of America and they told that they had advised me to use the wrong card, but can't do anything on their part to correct the issue. I told them that I want them to honor the bonus as well as the 0 % APR, but they said the only thing they can do is the honor bonus but not the promotional APR, even after they reviewed the recorded calls and agreed that their agent made a mistake on the call we had back in XXXX.
