Complaint: This is my 7th complaint about Bank Of America! They have not yet fixed my problem with the money stolen out of my account! They just call me, and leave a message, but never pick up or call me back when I call or leave a message. Its crazy! Now, they charged my account another $ XXXX monthly fee, and an extended overdraft fee and they still have not refunded my money or helped me, but they keep over drafting my account! They should just give me my money back, and save us both a headache. I hate claims, and this is my first in XXXX years, and this process is a con and unjust to the customer!

Complaint: This is not a complaint against the bank per se, it 's more a complaint about your regulation for this particular type of transaction. My friend was in desperate need of money and he asked me to deposit {$60.00} into his B of A account. When I presented B of A with {$60.00} in cash, they insisted on seeing my driver 's license and recorded my number in their system. They claimed this is a regulation from the Federal Government. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Depositing {$60.00} in cash and recording that information serves XXXX purpose other than just more paperwork, and more useless paper-trailing and XXXX XXXX tracking. You 're not stopping any XXXX activity nor catching any XXXX by having them monitor a {$60.00} cash deposit. I would understand maybe if you had some kind of threshold maybe of {$1000.00} or something but me lending my friend a few bucks is no ones business. I like the idea of the CFPB, but your XXXX regulations like this make me want to side with some Republicans and get rid of your department.

Complaint: In XXXX of 2013, Bank of America indicated that the only way they would assist with a refinance on our mortgage was if we stopped making payments. This was repeated multiple times by multiple people at the bank - no assistance without evidence of financial hardship. They indicated that after applying through the TARP program and ceasing to make payments, it would take 3-4 months to renegotiate the loans. THREE YEARS later, we have just received an offer on the second loan, that is substantially above market rate and is nothing more than a 15 year amortization of the original loan. After the initial TARP submission, Bank of America Immediately sold the loan to a different servicer, requiring that we start over and resubmit the first mortgage application. They refused to consider a submission on the second loan until the first loan was negotiated. Re-doing the entire process with XXXX ( the new servicer ) took over 6 months. Once the trial period was over on that loan, we submitted the EXACT completed application that had successfully gone through underwriting at XXXX to Bank Of America. During the process, they lost paperwork, refused to believe they had paperwork, even when said paperwork was pointed out to them, showing on their own website, repeatedly closed the application for non-response, after taking 28 days to ask for the information, then closing the application 24 hours later, in some cases when the requested information had been uploaded to them days before they acknowledged receipt. Every time we approached a decision, they would come up with an entirely new set of issues and we actually had to submit a total of three applications prior to them offering a trial payment. The trial payment was offered with NO disclosure of terms whatsoever. We made the required XXXX trial payments, them made 6 more payments as it took the NINE MONTHS to generate loan documents. At this point, they have ruined our credit - still submitting to the credit agencies that we have not made one on time payment, when in fact we have made nine timely payments.

Complaint: Note : this issue relates to an active offer to purchase a short sale property. 1. A townhouse XXXX XXXX XXXX, # XXXX was listed for sale in XXXX 2016. We made an offer for {$400000.00} for this property through a realtor and was accepted by the seller in XXXX 2016. 2. We understood then that this property was a short sale and required approval from the bank. According to the realtor, public records indicate the mortgage was taken by the seller through Bank of America. 3. Since XXXX the bank has been going through its approval process. 4. During the process they requested loan approval letters and financial documents three times from us. 5. We were told by our realtor the final hurdle was a BPO for the property to be conducted by the bank. 6. Per your communication the BPO was calculated to be {$410000.00}. 7. The realtor then informed us that the bank wanted additional {$10000.00} from the seller in order to close the deal. 8. We informed our realtor verbally that we were willing to increase our offer to match BPO amount making our offer {$410000.00}. 9. Two days later in a phone call to our realtor, the realtor mentioned that the bank wanted an additional {$40000.00} without any explanation as to the reason for the increase. 10. On hearing this increase, we requested a formal response or explanation for this increase as it was way above the assessed value/BPO ( conducted by the bank ) of {$410000.00}. 11. We were not given a response. Our realtor suggested we cancel the transaction as 'there is nothing else we can do '. We do not understand why we are being requested to cancel or withdraw the transaction since we are interested in the property. We do not understand the increase in the amount from {$410000.00} ( BPO amount ) by another {$40000.00}. 12. We suspect there is a foreclosure/short sale scam going on in the sale of this property. We have not been given an explanation from the bank or sellers agent as to the status of our offer that was previously accepted by seller and is the same as the bank assessed value of this property. 13.We would lrequest CFPB to look into the short sale status of this property and help us understand if what the bank is doing is legal or if there is a foreclosure scam preventing us from getting this property.

Complaint: My wife received a statement last week from Bank of America for a Core Checking account that she never opened. It was addressed to her parents which was her old address, so luckily it got fwd 'd onto our new address. It was also in her maiden name, which is another sign of fraud. We called Bank of America 's fraud department, waited for a rep for 80 minutes, explained the situation, he confirmed our identity, looked up the new account, then we asked how this ever got opened since we never did this, and also asked if this was an account setup by a Bank of America employee to get a bonus, then he put us on a hold and then hung up on us. We are fairly certain this has been unresolved, and that Bank of America opened this account without my wife 's permission. I looked up the details of the Bank of America Core Checking account and see there is a fee associated with the checking account that we never opened. Bank of America does not have a branch or ATM in the state we live in, which is another red flag.

Problems caused by my funds being low

Complaint: Bank of America charged me XXXX overdraft fees in one day for items returned for insufficient funds. A payment to my credit card was processed earlier than I thought and I had insufficient funds for other XXXX transactions that occurred on the same day ( some for as low as a few $ ). The total overdraft charges were {$140.00} in one day. I have been with Bank of America for years and of course I will close my account as soon as feasible. I spoke to a manager XXXX XXXX on the phone ( he said he was at the West Virginia location of the Bank of America ) about this and they refused to even consider canceling XXXX overdraft fee. I hope the CFPB can intervene and assist. Frankly, it is appalling how Bank of America can do this.

Complaint: I had nearly {$800000.00} in an investment account at Merrill/Lynch, and a home worth another {$800000.00}. After my financial advisor, XXXX XXXX at the XXXX S.C. office took over my accounts, I would up with a little over {$40000.00}, total. I was talked into taking out a mortgage and a line of credit I did n't want, and encouraged not to pay them off. When the market crash happened, I was left with the debts, and no capital to pay them off with.

Complaint: I applied for a {$50000.00} home equity line of credit with Bank of America. The BAC person said she made it for {$100000.00} so I 'd get a better rate. After waiting more than two months with no response other than them asking me if my dead husband still owned property on a street where he never owned property, I realized they were just jerking me around.. My house is paid in full and is located 15minutes from NYXXXX via car or ferry. My car is paid for. I received a letter of rejection from BAC based on " the debt being too high for my income. Considering that I only wanted {$25000.00} the monthly payment would have been under {$150.00}. I clear a minimum of {$2200.00} ... .my house and car are paid for and my health care insurance and costs including dentistry is free from my late husbands job. I have no debt other than {$2000.00} in credit cards that I used to have work done on the house while waiting for the BAC home equity loan. A tree 's roots were taking down a retaining wall adjacent to my driveway. BAC had no reason to delay their response for months and no legitimate reason to turn me down. They mention XXXX ... the only inquiries made of XXXX would have been by BAC. Also, when I took a new BAC credit card to a BAC bank for {$1000.00} cash, I was initially turned down because " the credit card '' that was never used " was bad. '' A manager corrected that. Overall, the discrimination is clearly based on my age. The house is valued at {$300000.00} and could be sold in a couple of weeks by any realtor if needed ... .good collateral for sure. My credit rating is XXXX with XXXX based on the reject letter from BAC.

Complaint: received letter from Bank of America for intro. 0 % interest on balance transfers for 18 months. Called B of A, gave credit info. and was approved for a balance transfer from XXXX for approx. XXXX. I told the person I wanted to set up automatic payments at {$100.00} per month and he said no problem. I would receive a form in the mail to attach my routing no., accnt. no., and a blank check and send the info back and that would take care of that. I also stated I wanted my payments to be taken out around the XXXX of the month. I had sent the form in immediately, and expected everything to be taken care of. I opened a statement 3 weeks ago and learned I was late paying ( did n't make a payment in XXXX ) and needed to make a payment of about {$110.00}. to bring the account current. I called Bank of America and asked them why they had not taken {$100.00} payment and they stated I either had to make a minimum payment ( {$67.00} ) or pay the account in full. No other payments were accepted. That is not what I was told when I transferred balance. Also, my payment due date was the XXXX of the month, not the XXXX of the month that I had requested. Bank of America 's representatives give incorrect information. I closed the account this date ( XXXX/XXXX/16 ), because I do not feel B of A is either up board with info., or the representatives are incompetent. I had been charged {$60.00} in late fees, which they refunded, and I also asked that they refund the 3 % fee I was charged to do a balance transfer ( approx. {$110.00} ). I feel B of A should refund the 3 % transfer fee I was charged when I initially contacted them because I had to pay another 3 % fee to get away from them ( I did a balance transfer to XXXX today ).

Complaint: Noticed {$25.00} fee on my XX/XX/XXXX Mortgage Statement from BofA. When I called to inquire, they said, they had done an audit on my account. That fee is from an occurrence XX/XX/XXXX ( over 10 years ago! ) which had never been charged by my prior lender, Countryside Home Loans. Refused to eliminate the fee. Maybe BofA is in desperate need of money?
