Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed several fraudulent charges to my card and notified American Express. While on the call the agent questioned one fo the charges and said it was " related to charges from other businesses '' and named them. I told him that I didn't see any charges of those sort on the dates in question. We finished the call and I got the confirmation mail, which included charges from many months ago to those two merchants, which were valid and should not be disputed. Then I got a Declaration of Fraud form which I submitted with only the fraudulent charges on it. This was rejected by them as incomplete because it didn't include the two ( non-fraud ) charges. I called and explained that those were erroneous and are not fraud. They asked me to resubmit it. I did so. Then a final charge settled and I called to add it, as I had been instructed to do, with no problem ( on the XXXX ). According to the customer agreement, " If you contact us by phone, we may require that you send us your complaint or question in writing within ten ( 10 ) business days. We will determine whether an error occurred within ten ( 10 ) business days after we hear from you and will correct any error promptly. If, however, we need more time, we may take up to forty-five ( 45 ) days to investigate your complaint or question. If we decide to do this, we will credit your Account ... within ten ( 10 ) business days after your contacting us for the amount you have reported to us is in error so that you will have the use of the funds during the time it takes us to complete the investigation. '' We have exceeded the 10 days. I've called every single day since then and spoken with a supervisor, who has told me ( every day ) that I will receive a notification from them that day by close of business. And that has not happened - not a single time of the five that it has been promised.

Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX my American Express credit card statement reflected a credit in the amount of {$380.00}. American Express listed the amount as a credit and then attempted to charge the amount for the amount credited. The amount was for a Travel Reservation that was cancelled. I contacted American Express customer services to inform them that the reservation was cancelled. American Express claimed to have investigated but did not. Responded back to me that they were rebilling me for the original credit that they previously issued and that the debt will appear on my upcoming statement. I rebutted the findings following the FTC " Fair Credit Billing Procedures. I responded to American Express via USPA Certified w/return receipt and again on XX/XX/XXXX. American Express did not respond. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a email from American Express informing me that I have a past due amount. New charges may also be declined. Per the Fair Credit Billing the period to resolve the dispute ( two billing cycles, but not more than 90 days has long past. American Express threaten to report to the credit agencies.

Complaint: I have an American Express card with reward points based on purchase. After reaching the required total purchases amount for the year, the card pays back 5 % on gasoline purchases. In reviewing my reward statements, I noticed that while the card was paying the 5 % on most gasoline purchases, it was paying the minimum of 1 % on purchases from the XXXX XXXX gasoline purchases. I reviewed all the monthly statements, and there were ten occasions where I had received 1 % back instead of 5 % back. I contacted the service representative for American Express who looked it up and saw the XXXX XXXX was listed as a convenience store, not as a gasoline station. I pointed out to the service rep that each of the purchases would show something like 14.567 gals @ {$2.00} a gallon. The customer service rep stated it didn't matter what the terms of the credit card agreement was, if the retailer had the business listed as anything under than a gas station, American Express would not honor the the credit card agreement on the reward points. While the dollar amount of reward points is small, {$1400.00}, it is unfair of American Express to not honor the credit card agreement on points to be paid on gasoline purchases. If American Express is defrauding other customers this way, it should be stopped.

Complaint: I created an account with American Express Serve, they suspended my account in XXXX, and have not disseminated any information as to why they suspended my account, nor released the funds that are currently sitting in that account. Timeline : XX/XX/XXXX - Added {$200.00} to the account XX/XX/XXXX - Added {$200.00} to the account XX/XX/XXXX - Was locked out of account, noting an issue with my email/password ( est. ) XX/XX/XXXX - Called the customer service line, was originally told that it was a security issue but they were unable to unlock the account. I was passed off to another rep and they told me that they couldn't unlock my account either. XX/XX/XXXX - Received an email notifying me that my account was locked, and account privileges suspended due to violating terms 15b of their agreement. No other information in the email noted why my account was suspended or what 15b was. ( est. ) XX/XX/XXXX - Called to resolve matter, was told again that my account privileges were suspended for violation of 15b. When asked what that was, they responded that they couldn't tell me that information. I was told that they would send an email with more information in the next couple of weeks ( this email did not come ). I requested to have the account closed and release the funds. I was told that they would email me with information regarding the case ( this email did not come ). XX/XX/XXXX - Called again to Identify what the hold up was with the release of funds. I spoke with XXXX whose extension was XXXX, and whose manager 's name is XXXX. I notified them that I had requested to close my account and that the {$400.00} in funds were not released. She assured me that they would handle the situation and that they would report it to the appropriate team. I requested to speak to said appropriate team, and was told that was not possible, they are not reachable by phone. She said that I would receive notice on the release of funds with 1-2 days. I let her know I would reach out to the CFPB in the event that they did not release the funds in 2 days. I have also received weekly account updates from Serve, notifying me of the {$400.00} that is sitting in my account. Any time I have attempted to call to get information, I have been assured they would fix the situation, and then I receive no mail, no email, no notice on why the account privileges are suspended and my account is locked, allowing me no access to the {$400.00} that I put in it.

Complaint: I had attempted to set my account on auto-pay, also attempted to use my reward points towards my bill, both of which does not work on the website, it freezes. Because of that I was charged late fees. Being a customer of several years, I don't normally get late fees, I do not think it was a fair assessment and now have to pay extra late fees on top of the high percentage of interest rates I'm already paying.
