Complaint: Bluebird American Express denied my fraud claim. There are six transactions totaling {$2900.00}. The transactions are as follow : Store Purchase XXXX*XXXX XXXX {$310.00} XX/XX/19 Store Purchase XXXX*XXXX XXXX {$620.00} XX/XX/19 Store Purchase XXXX*XXXX XXXX {$620.00} XX/XX/19 Store Purchase XXXX*XXXX. XXXX {$510.00} XX/XX/19 Store Purchase XXXX. XXXX {$510.00} XX/XX/19 Store Purchase XXXX. XXXX {$310.00} XX/XX/19 all from XXXX.
I have called many times to Bluebird fraud department and asked for information about why my dispute was denied but they say they can't answer those questions over the phone. I have mailed them a letter to Bluebird Customer Care at XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX for an explanation of why my dispute was declined and I still haven't received a response.

Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Complaint: My husband and I have joint finances and have for 13 years. All financial accounts are in both our names. I wanted to apply for an American Express Platinum card, and when I did, I was offered XXXX membership rewards points. When my husband completed the same application, he was offered XXXX membership rewards points. When I called American Express, they refused to provide an answer as to why he was receiving better financial terms than I was, but insisted it wasn't sexism, and we overtly hostile to me when I suggested that it was. Opening the card in my husband 's name doesn't work, because certain benefits are unique to the cardholder, such as gold status at hotels, and I travel for work and he does not. For me to even be an authorized user that gets those benefits is another {$170.00} a year.
This is unacceptable behavior, in which they will be able to claim their is some other made up reason for treating us differently, when the only difference between us as far as our finances is our gender.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I called American Express on XX/XX/2019 wanting to cancel my credit card. They transferred me to their retention department and they offered me a {$50.00} statement credit if I spent {$1000.00} on that credit card within 3 months. I met the spend requirement on XX/XX/2019.
Called on XX/XX/2019 and asked when I should be receiving that {$50.00} statement credit. They said it takes 6-8 weeks to see the credit.
Called back on XX/XX/2019 to follow up and they said they see it on my account and they're not sure why it's not credited but that I should see it soon.
Called bak XX/XX/2019 and spoke to a Manager. She escalated it up and promised me she would call back within 24 - 48 hours with an answer. Never received any call back from her.
Called back AGAIN XX/XX/XXXX, and they said they're " looking into it '', and it could take 30 - 90 days.
This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I've done my part, and I shouldn't have to be following up and wasting my time and energy on something that they promised in the first place. It really shouldn't be this difficult to look into and apply to my account.

Problem during payment process
Complaint: I have mailed a letter to American Express asking to close the credit card account ending in XXXX. For one there are outrageous late fees being applied to the account and I dont even know what the exact charges are. I have even had a balance transfer to try and resolve an issue with American Express. The balance transfer doesn't show any charges what so ever. I have also asked for a payment plan and sent monthly payments however those payments have not been acknowledge and they have went as far as to post this on my credit. I also have reason to believe that someone other than me is trying to access this credit card account. A man at XXXX XXXX XXXX ( manager ) in XXXX, GA even thought the credit card was maxed out which was very strange as to why would someone automatically assume they know about someones financial situation. A letter had already been written to close the account and was no longer being used. American Express continues to double to the fee by XXXX every month and they act as if the account is still open. It is getting out of hand. I have reason to believe that someone is still trying to add charges to the account. I have also had an issue with payments not being posted to the account after being sent. I also had problems with the account balance not being updated after payment has been sent.

Complaint: I have a credit card with American Express. And I have made 500 to {$1000.00} dollars payments in one lump sum more than one time. and they will not report that to the credit reporting Bureau. And I think that's wrong. And I would like for them to report those payments for those months that I made to the credit reporting Bureau. They only report my payments as XXXX dollars and I have made way over that from the day. I've had this card. And that's unfair Credit Reporting practices I think.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: I was about To pay for an airline ticket, I was offered an American Express credit card stating if approved I would pay {$200.00} less. I applied to get the {$200.00}. I was approved right away, I was given all the information needed to pay, and I paid. I applied only because of the offer. I have talked to 4 or 5 ppl and everyone has a different answer. Now, I was told I wont have the offer because it was declined ... so I was approved but not getting the offer which I find unacceptable. I was told it was on the approval, Of course in very small letters knowing nobody read that ... so, why I get the credit card, and not the offer? I need help please. Big companies keep just by lying getting customers and money offering things that are not real!!!

Complaint: I had reached out to American Express more than 2-3 weeks ago to talk to them about refunding a credit in the amount of {$19000.00} I spent considerable amount of time over the phone and i was rest assured that a check would be mailed to my mailing address within 7-10 business days.
I followed up with the earlier this week most likely on XX/XX/19 to get the status, and was first told by the representative that no such request was initiated and then was told that there was a glitch in the system. I expressed my frustration and was told that a new request was being made, verified by mailing address and said this time for sure a check will be mailed out within 7 business days. The representative also said he will lodge an inquiry to the previous call but I would have to followup with them to get a status.
I followed up again today XX/XX/19 and was told that they had a wrong address to which the check was mailed out that involved a PO Box . I told them I had not provided any such address and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I was on the phone for more than 40 minutes and again was rest assured that the refund shall be issued to my bank account free of charge by Wednesday the latest and that the supervisor shall personally followup on Monday and Wednesday.
It seems they are not willing to refund my money and every time I call, I get a run around, hollow apologies, false statements. This is not only poor customer service but they are deceiving their customers.
I can not wait any longer to receive my refund and therefore am lodging this complaint.

Complaint: At the beginning of XX/XX/2019 American Express cancelled both of my accounts I had with them while I was having medical issues after being less than 45 days late. At the time I was notified I called immediately and was told that the accounts had been closed 3 days prior to me having received notice in the mail. I believe american express timed the delivery of my notification in an effort to subvert my ability to make a timely payment so that they prematurely close my account. 2. After seeing that the account was closed I began making regular payments to buy time until I could pay off the balance in full. On XX/XX/2019 I paid off both of my accounts in full through their online portal and showed a XXXX balance on both of them. today XX/XX/2019 I began receiving collections calls at XXXX XXXX and as of the time of this complaint I have received 4 calls informing me that I have a balance on my american express accounts in the amounts of approximately {$13.00} and {$37.00} respectively. After learning this I immediately call american express to find out how I had a balance in collections for two accounts that had been paid in full only 11 days ago. I was told that the balance was interest that had accused after my final payment. I then asked how I was supposed to know that they had added interest to an account that from my perspective had been closed and paid in full if they had not given me notice. I was told that they had mailed me 4 separate pieces of mail attempting to collect the debt. I find this very hard to believe given the very short time frame from when I paid in full to when I began receiving collections calls. 11 days seems to be a very unreasonable amount of time for someone to be sent to collections. I was made to feel as though I was attempting to not pay off the account. On XXXX XXXX I paid off nearly {$4000.00} between the two accounts and I would submit that given the amounts and my attempt to fix the damage that this has done to my credit it does not make sense that I would have avoided only {$50.00} of Nearly {$4000.00} debt. I find these practices despicable and I believe they are motivated by discrimination based on the fact that one of my accounts is an american express optima account. The Optima account was an account that american express was forced to create and offer to consumer who where included in a legal settlement that was reached following a suit filed for similar unfair practices by american express. It is my belief that american express wanted nothing more that any excuse to be able to cancel the accounts of Optima card holders and found my short lapse during my illness to take advantage of the situation.
