Complaint: On XX/XX/19, I heard about a new credit card through a co-worker of mine. He referred to the card as the " Hilton Diamond '' card, a credit card that would instantly earn me Diamond status with XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was currently staying at a XXXX XXXX XXXX, so this sounded like a great idea.
On XX/XX/19 at XXXX XXXX ( HST ), I called American Express about this card and spoke to XXXX ( XXXX? ) about opening this card. I already had the " Hilton Gold '' credit card, so I inquired about any bonus offers for upgrading to the " Hilton Diamond '' card. She informed me that I would receive 150,000 bonus points if I spent {$4000.00} in the first 3 months of having the card. I also asked a few other questions related to the logistics of upgrading the card ( credit check, activation, card fees, etc. ).
After I upgraded, I made sure to spend the {$4000.00} that would be required to get the bonus, but after several weeks, I had not seen an increase in my Hilton points balance.
I then made a phone call to American Express asking when I would be receiving the bonus that I was promised, and the representative informed me that there was no offer loaded onto my account and that the issue would have to be escalated for resolution.
After several days, I called back to check on the status of that escalation and was informed that they listened to the call made back on XX/XX/19, and that it was determined that no such offer was made. I asked the representative what other steps I could take since I was 100 % confident that my original statement was valid, but they told me that there was nothing they could do besides another case escalation.
Once again, after several days, I called American Express and was informed that my case had been reviewed again and that no such offer was made. They also said that there was nothing else I could do.
I am very confident that the original representative offered me 150,000 bonus points. I made sure to spend over {$4000.00} on my credit card in the 3 months following my phone call, but I have yet to receive the promised points. Please see the attached notes that I took during the phone call on XX/XX/19.

Complaint: I originally filed a dispute with AMEX Serve for several charges totaling {$240.00}. The charges are listed with XXXX ( 3rd party ) and after contacting XXXX I was given the merchants name and their contact information. XXXX was the merchant and I emailed back and forth to a representative named XXXX between XXXX and XXXX. The representative wanted me to upload the unauthorized charges uses what appears to be a game app. I explained that I have a company phone that has cell control and I do not have the phone app on my phone nor would I be able to download the app. My communication with this merchant will be uploaded as a PDF labeled Communication with Merchant.
It was clear the merchant was not going to able to help so I contacted American Express Serve. I can not begin to explain what I have been through with AMEX while calling numerous ( 50 ) times and complying with their requests. This is the very beginning, On XXXX XXXX I contacted AMEX Serve and filed a dispute for the {$240.00}. I was told by the representative at AMEX that I would be getting a form titled declaration of fraud and that I need to fill this form out and upload to them. The very same day I filled out the declaration of fraud and attached a statement with all the unauthorized charges highlighted in yellow. The fraud document stated to attach more pages if necessary. This file will also be uploaded and it will be named Declaration of Fraud_disputed charges_XX/XX/2019. At this point I wanted the provisional credit that I was told would be in my account after 10 days. Here is were things get twisted and I begin to get upset. I receive an email on Tuesday XX/XX/2019 which I do not see until I get home after work. This email states that I have not correctly filled out the declaration of fraud document because there were a total of three charges not listed. This email is sent two days before I am supposed to receive the provisional credit which would be day ten. I called a representative at AMEX and wanted answers about why it took so long for them to determine the form was not filled out correctly. To be honest the representative was speaking broken English and what I did understand was that I would have to wait the full 45 days for a credit if the dispute was found in my favor.
I had to leave town with my job for a week and because their request was to type out all the disputed charges on the declaration of fraud document, this took some time and was uploaded on XXXX, XXXX. Note : The fraud document with all the charges individually listed will also be uploaded for review.
The one thing I would like to add is that my wife 's debit card with another bank had a total of four charges from the same merchant and within 24 hrs a credit was issued and two days later the credit was permanent and found in her favor as fraud. This whole process has taken so much effort I have come close to giving up but after receiving an email today which is XX/XX/2019 I gained some steam. AMEX Serve has determined that no error occurred and that transaction ( s ) in question was authorized. Therefore the transaction ( s ) is not eligible for credit to your Account.
I would like include that I located over 300 complaints on this company just on one website and the majority of the complaints was for one reason or the other AMEX was holding customers money or not returning money and of course the dispute process they have adopted, I don't think I read a dispute complaint were a merchant was found to be at fault and the customer was returned the money. I am very glad I came across this website and that I was able to file a complaint because I did not know were to turn.

Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Complaint: In applying for an American Express Everyday credit card which offers 0 % balance transfer for 15 months and {$0.00} fee for transfers ( which was approved ), no where in the online OR written agreement that is sent with the card does it stipulate that the maximum amount you can transfer a balance is 75 % of your limit or {$5000.00}, whichever is reached first, which is what I'm being told is the policy. My limit is {$20000.00} and they are saying I can only transfer {$5000.00}. This IS NOT disclosed anywhere in the written agreement that comes with the card OR online which their representative acknowledged on XX/XX/19.

Complaint: back in XXXX I payed the entire balance off on my American Express card. Thinking that entire amount was paid the following month I made no payment. Appox 30 days later I receive a late notice along with a bill for past occurred interest as well as a late payment fee. I contacted amex and was informed I would have to pay this amount of {$79.00} for accured interest and a late fee of {$35.00} and also my account was subject to a credit interest increase. So I paid the entire amount on date I always made my payments on. Thinking to myself that amount would take careof them and I certainly would not be using your card in your longer okay that didn't happen this month I received another bill for {$35.00} for a late fee stating that the payment was not received until the XXXX of the month although I make your payment electronically through my bank as I have always in the past on the XXXX of the month which is the day that I get paid on. So now I have a new bill again for {$35.00}! in late fees and they are also reporting me late to the credit bureaus. I might mention that they sent me a later stating that if I were to fileba dispute with credit bureau they would be cancelling my account. I don't know what kind of business practices by are these but it sounds as if they are making threats. I need assistance with them because even when I called to get this straitened out the person I spoke with was very rude and menecing.

Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I went online to purchase concert tickets through XXXX XXXX. I had the site show me the best values and purchased what I thought were best value. Immediately after purchasing the tickets I went back to XXXX XXXX to purchase an additional ticket in the same section and the same row and found the prices were drastically lower. They were 50 % less. Wanting to really go to this show, I purchased the additional ticket but a few days later I couldnt bear the feeling that I had been misled into buying overpriced tickets.
I called American Express to dispute the charges of the first ticket purchase. They said to call XXXX XXXX and call back if they can not resolve the issue. I called XXXX and they told me the tickets were non-refundable and would not budge on the issue of misleading purchases. I called American Express and the said they would dispute the charges. Several days later, I was credited the full amount.
Couple months later the show was nearing and I quickly looked into buying tickets that I was able to dispute through Amex. I found considerably cheaper tickets of the same section and row on XXXX. After the show, I downloaded a statement from American Express showing that the dispute had been charged back on XX/XX/XXXX. I looked through the account activity on the main homepage and it did not show anything in regards of chargebacks.
I called to inquire about this. Feeling frustrated, they kept reiterating the same line over and over again. I am sorry but XXXX has a no-refund policy.
My complaint here was first with XXXX but more so with American Express now. I was never notified of the chargeback on the dispute. Never received an email, document in writing and the website account activity page shows no mention of the chargeback. I went to purchase replacement tickets under the pretense that the dispute had been resolved. The show is over, the tickets went unused and I am left with XXXX dollars in charges. I asked the American Express supervisor to send me in writing of their policy in regards to the date confusion of the chargeback and she told me there was nothing in writing that she can show me. I feel misled and cheated and their excuse for their policy is nowhere to be found for me to know prior that this was the case.
XXXX and American Express are two large companies that have taken advantage of an average concert goer and turned what was to be a great experience, one filled with frustration and disappointment.
I feel that XXXX should manage the sale of the tickets more carefully, make sure that their algorithm for their website is accurate. I believe they should not allow selling of tickets on speculation and tickets that are not currently in possession.
I feel that American Express should have written policies of their disputes, one that clearly explains and informs their customers. I believe they should also have a website that clearly identifies with accurate dates of the dispute chargebacks. Their policies that phone representative reiterate over and over should be available in writing.

Complaint: I previously filed a complaint against American Express several months ago due to the charges of a dispute. Complaint ID XXXX. You might want to look it up. They sent you a letter saying the charges would be removed. It is now 3 months and 6 total letters from American Express over the past 9 months saying the dispute has been resolved in my favor and a refund does not appear on my statement. Can I file criminal charges against American Express due to their lack of accountability and fraud. Why? Nothing has been done by them or your organization.. Another useless government agency.

Complaint: Around the end of XX/XX/2019 I was making a payment on my Amex account. After the fact, i thought something looked out of place. There was someone elses bank account in the field to pull the payment from. I called, they deleted that bank account and I verified, then made my payment thinking everything was resolved. Fast forward to XX/XX/2019 I Come to find out yet again the 3 payments ive made since XXXX again came out of this other persons bank account. I contacted AMEX and told them I suspect a faulty backup/restore process or a data breach ( i have been in info sec for 20 years ). After XXXX weeks they finally returned the money to the other person 's bank ( After a privacy breach telling me this person name ) and are demanding the money I attempted to pay ( XXXX payments ) NOW. Then they accuse me of illegally using someone elses bank account to make payments. I only see the last four numbers, i have NO way of knowing this full bank account number. They refuse to follow through and find out how or why this has happened or to take accountability for these payments that I did attempt to make but they withdrew from someone elses account. I have spent 10-14 hours on the phone with Amex over this and need help.

Problem with rewards from credit card
Complaint: I opened an American Express Delta Rewards Credit Card XX/XX/XXXX.
At some point in XX/XX/XXXX I was awarded bonus miles.
I accrued nearly XXXX miles via this credit card during this time.
In XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to access my Sky Miles Account via Delta.
Delta notified me the account that was linked to MY credit Card was not mine.
I informed Amex. Amex informed me to contact Delta. Delta informed me to contact Amex. I filed multiple tickets. I only have 2 of the numbers ( XXXX, XXXX ) I ultimately was able to determine the account that recv 'd the miles was my daughter. Who does not have an Amex account.
American Express continues to deny responsibility for awarding the points to the wrong Account number.
I have been patient with American Express for almost 6 months. I am trying to plan my vacation with miles I worked to accrue. They will not award me the points and they now say too much time has expired to do anything about the issue. Time expired b/c they continued to push me around and failed to act in a timely manner. XXXX sky miles now sit in the wrong persons account. How is this possible?
